Guys prices to good to ignore in Sevco game tonight.
St Johnstone are 7/2 to win and
14/5 draw as Saints are the Premier team they should be too good for the new club.
Also a penalty in game is 5/2 and an ordering off is 7/2 (as most Sevco games this season have had one or the other or both worth a wee exta punt)

Celtic war chest of £20m to stave off sevco challenge has just shrunk to two Bob and a wine gum. Rangers transfer kitty now increase to £100 million to guarantee top 6 finish

I've never been so happy with a result, just wish it was more. Had a wee swatch at there site before the game and the deluded bunch had themselves winning 8-1, and being stronger than Celtic next year. There supporters really are gullible, arrogant bunch of clowns, wish they would hurry up & go bust for good.

It's not a lot different from Motherwell last season. It's a big step up. As we have discussed before, Sevco need about another £8 mill minimum to get through this season. Then when they get promoted, and they will, they will need to spend another £5 mill a season on playing staff alone over the next 3 or 4 seasons just to get into the top half. So they need £20 to £30 mill before they are serious challengers and it will probably take 3 or 4 seasons. That's before they invest in Ibrox, Scouting etc. they have a long way to go. Good shout however from Timalloy re the bet. Keep them coming pal.

Ed question for everyone, I see we are potentially getting cole would you prefer him or samaras back?

{Ed007's Note - That's like asking what baw you prefer to be booted.}

Cole without a doubt. Sammy wasnt and isn't good enough. Not saying Cole is but we don't know for sure yet. Extremely disappointed with the latest transfer window when we never brought in another striker so this might be as good as we're going to get

We are in a bad place the now with out striking department imo we only have 2 Griffiths and ciftci I don't see stokes as a striker more a winger now but wouldn't want him near the 1st team anyway.both our strikers scored at the weekend let's hope it continues

Cole. Just. I wanted an experienced target man but it's like crimbo as a young'n asking for a new jacket and getting a jacket. Just one knitted by your nan. Really don't know why, if at all, we didn't get Cole before the squads for EL. Or the CL qualifiers. Says something about the strikers we have but I actually think Cole might be our best option at times the way we knock it up to the striker asap. I think we're much better when we slow things down a little playing LG up top.

Before I make any judgement on Cole , I think I will do the decent thing and watch him play in the hoops a few times before deciding on his ability or inability .

I can't see us signing him. He was a decent player and still has something to offer but there is no way he will be fit. It will take him 3 months to get to match fitness. He has not kicked a ball in a competitive game since May. So that's 6 months out of the game. he can't play in Europe so it's a signing for the SPL and as I said it's going to take him months not weeks to get match fit. What the hell's going on!

Old Bhoy it's the job of the scouts and coaching staff to make that judgement. You can't just sign a player for 2 games make a judgement then get rid of him. And he won't be wanting 5k a week believe me he will be on top money. They have to get this right as its a massive gamble. For me it's an absolute shambles. They've had for as long back as you want to go to scout and identify a decent striker. They've let the window close with only ciftci and griffiths In the managers plans. Now they've taken a look at who is free and available . Something that happens on a daily basis on this forum people come on and say I see such and such is free. I think he is worth a punt. So why are we paying a manager coaching and scouting staff If the best they can come up with is I see Carlton Cole is free he might be worth a punt. It's yet another example of either a manager out of his depth (where is the youth development he is so famous for.) or a chief exec who has totally lost the plot.

Garybhoy 1888 if Celtic even tried to sign all the names that appeared on forums or papers , they wouldn't have time to do any business . IMO Cole was on the Celtic wish list from the start of the window . Cole wanted to keep his options open , and he held out for a financial lucrative deal . After the window closed and with Cole's options narrowing down , eventually he has come within Celtic's wage structure .
I think it's coincidental that Cole was on Celtic's fans forum lists , it would have been a surprise if he wasn't .

Crosas, Nguemo, JV of H, Bobo Balde, Valgaeren, Rieper, Weighorst, Bitton, Nakamura, Wanyama, Izzaguire and Ki. There are many more, fellow posters could add to the list of players that did/do a decent job and did not cost a lot to bring to the club.
In fact there are one or two more illustrious bargain buys I missed.
OK, we have also signed some bingers, but the above list is a reminder of the widespread talent that we managed to sign in the past - and should be endeavouring to pursue nowadays.
Not the likes of Gordon, Boyata, Ciftci, Scepovic and Carlton Cole (if it's true).
Complacency and penny pinching (at player and manager level) is not good for the club and is counter productive, not to mention seriously harming our CL record.
There are decent players in our price range if the scouts/coaches would just look further than the newspapers and social media.

{Ed007's Note - Joos Valgaeren cost £3.8 million, Nakamura was £2.5 million and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink cost around £3.5 million. We got great value for money but I don't think we got any bargains with those three considering what we spend on players today}

Jungle Jim we all have the one aim and that is to have Celtic strong and successful in the SPL and Europe .
We all, includes the manager, scouts Mr Lawwell and the board , so maybe you could help us out with the decent players within our price range .
We all want to know their names .
I think over the last 3 years we have signed many decent players whose names were not in the newspapers . These players include Bitton Rogic and Johannson to name a few, but please help the scouts .

Dry your eyes Old Bhoy, You managed to name only three - whereas I rattled off quite a few who were well within our budget at that particular time.
I am not employed as a scout or have a remit to travel around spotting and recommending players, but there are well-paid employees of our club who we trust to do so.
However, In the period you mention, signings have also included Fortune, Moukoyolo, Murphy, Bangura, Scepovic, Balde, Boerigter, Pukki and loan signings like Tonev, Wakaso, Berget, Lassad and Brozek - just to name a dozen or so that have been utterly forgettable (and I am certain there are others).
Smaller clubs than ours manage to attract decent talent from around the globe - and we agree, that we have done in the past. All I am saying is we seem to be getting lazy in our recruitment compared to previous years.

Your point is Jungle Jim?
Over very many years you have listed numerous signings. Great , however what I have done is mention 3 star signings in three years up to the present time . Over the coming years we may be happy to find more of the players signed in the last 3 years have done well for us.
I see no evidence of our scouting team becoming lazy just now . Give the players time to develop with us
