I love the BBC iplayer, you can watch that documentary as many times as you like.

Cheap entertainment, oh that will be the Rankers then.

Hey ed, what do you think Whyte will call the team after he takes them into receivership and bumps all the creditors for the cash they are owed, we could run a competition on the Celtic site for the most original name.

Like I said cheap entertainment.

Youve tot to laugh.

Fancy us tomorrow with Ledley back into midfield, stokes & Hoops (if fit) up front and Mulgrew/Glenda at CB. Ed, do you think that wee fatty Commons could feature? I think he could be a shock inclusion, just to balance the side.

Also think the G@rs could draw at Grogie!

Hail Hail......Miko {Ed007's Note - I doubt he will play.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Did he not get a 2 match suspension ?

Lol, oh aye, forgot about that!......Miko

I want to know when the broken Rangers crest is going to start appearing in the tabloids. It was a given down Paradise way anytime we had a wee issue. I remember it even appearing when we lost our pre-season games in Poland. Went on to win the league easy. Whyte may not have the BBC but he still has all the Papers to voice his propoganda.

What do you guys think about a move for Norwich striker Grant Holt. Big strong physical striker kind of in the Hartson mould but more mobile! Was captain last year and scored loads of goals to get them promoted but can't get a game now! I know we need to sort the defence out but IMO this is the kind of striker we need! Opinions guys

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Yes, take him please !
Frustrated LFC fan here posting at 9.20pm.

Craig Whyte vows to sack any Rangers employee who talks to the BBC
CRAIG Whyte has intensified his battle with the BBC by stating that any member of the club who speaks to the broadcaster, even in an off-the-record basis, “will never work for Rangers again”.

Incensed by what he calls an “institutionalised bias” against his club within the walls of Pacific Quay, Whyte re-iterates his intention to sue the broadcaster, adding: “Maybe the BBC are going to be paying the [HMRC] tax bill.”

In a wide-ranging interview, Whyte expresses thunderous views on the BBC and, as he sees it, the motives behind their documentary Rangers: The Inside Story, aired on Thursday evening. Whyte says that not only he is suing the BBC but that he is also considering taking legal action against one of the contributors in the programme.

Robert Burns, head of investigations at the government’s Insolvency Service, suggested that Whyte could have faced a two-year jail sentence for his involvement with a firm called Re-tex Plastic Technology in a period when he was disqualified from being a director. Whyte says he hasn’t actually seen the BBC’s investigation but is au fait with the allegations it makes, Burns’s suggestion of criminality being the most serious.

“On the basis of what I’ve heard the Insolvency Service said last night I’m looking into the possibility of suing them personally. For what he [Burns] said, he deserves to be sued personally. Because it’s a lie.”

The Rangers owner also states that his bitter foe and former chairman at Ibrox, Alastair Johnston, has been e-mailing him in the last ten days looking for £30,000 in expenses from when he was still in the chair at Ibrox. Whyte says the communication was friendly at first, but then last midweek it turned nasty when Johnston threatened to sue if the monies were not paid.
“There was this series of e-mails and I was really surprised,” says Whyte. “So then he puts a deadline of last Friday on it and said if I didn’t pay it he was going to sue. There was an overhanging threat of a law suit if I didn’t pay him.”

During the HMRC tax bill segment of the interview, Whyte concedes that he made an error by being so secretive for so long in relation to what he intends to do in the event of a worst-case scenario.

“With hindsight, I should have probably said more about this when I first came in but on the other hand we were battling to win the league at the time and I didn’t want to put negative issues out there. As soon as the league was over, I should have come out and said ‘Look, there’s a big job to be done here’. I should have got my message out a bit sooner.”

Administration, said Whyte, was very much an option in the case of a mammoth tax bill from HMRC. It is, he stresses, something that he is attempting to avoid but he argues that it might not be the nightmare that some have predicted.

“Other than a regrettable event in our history I don’t think it would be as bad as people think it might be.

“But that’s not what I want. It’s something I’d rather avoid, if at all possible.”

Meanwhile, Rangers manager Ally McCoist would not be drawn on any of the controversies that are swirling around his ears at present. “I’m not going to talk about any television programmes or anything like that – all I am going to say is that I spoke to Craig Whyte on Friday morning, as I always do, and we are both in total agreement that the most important thing is Sunday’s game at Tynecastle.

“We had a chat about the team, the players and the squad – as we always do – and we are both of the opinion, which we both feel is the right one, that at this moment in time the fans deserve to know that we are totally focused on the game at Hearts.”

Come on Kirk Broadfoot talk to the BBC you know you want to lmao. Only joking lol. But I would like Gordon Smith to talk to them lol.

This saga is just going to drone on & on isn't it ? Roll on whenever the tax thing will be settled - Chrissy

PS - just glad it isn't Neil Lennon that's barred the BBC, we'd never hear the end of it

In all honesty, if Celtic don't beat Aberdeen, and Rangers did beat Hearts, do you think Neil would walk ? Surely no more points can be dropped until the next old firm? {Ed007's Note - Of course he will walk, his legs work fine???}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha, how do you like them apples?.....Miko

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic won't lose to Aberdeen. Aberdeen in the league have been 99 times out of 100 whipping boys for Celtic for 2-3 seasons. Home advantage, the team are due a win and some luck, and it's Aberdeen...they're shockingly bad these days.

At least a 3-0 win.

A draw or a defeat though and yes, he probably will walk and might have done last week were it not for Stokes and an injury time goal at Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know they have played a few times....................but id be surprised if it is as much as 100 times

Why if mr whyte says he will hav no dealings wiv the BBC does he go and do a 2 page interview wiv one of the BBCs top sports presenters James Traynor....DH

Believable1 Unbelievable1

They are all freelance not exclusive to the BBC. Why is everybody being obsessed with Rangers holding onto hope that they get a crippling tax bill? I feel there will be one big dissy as we say in Scotland.

Because it's current news that's why, just because you don't want to hear it doesn't make it false/not happening

Well Stevie sadly i dont believe that post was banter. Not the first time ive seen this nonsense on here. I believe 1 guy wanted a petition started to have Rangers stripped of the titles they won during that period. It just find it amazing that some Celtic fans actually wont face u to the reality of our situation. Junglejim posted yesterday what ive been saying on here for weeks now and there wasnt any guff given back. I really do wonder what all these tax case clutchers will do if Rangers win this case. Shotguns or razor blades at the ready I suppose.

Drew

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Drew...Rangers winning 9 in a row doesn't particulary bother me..different if it had been 10 but it wasn't ! It merely equaled a previous Celtic achievement. However, during Celtic's 9 in a row...thay also won the European Cup and players were all from Scotland on peanuts. Denis Law was at Man Utd on much more at the time so it wasn't a case of every team were on peanuts although it was a lot more even that today. So.. Rangers can keep and celebrate (as they did) their 9-in-a-row because we all know, it wasn't the same.

I'm not sure about starting a petiton, no need for that & I for one would find that quite embarrassing as a Celtic fan...our achievement speaks for itself & is a constant thorn in Rangers fans' side

Chrissy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Drew i can only speak for myself ,and my post a few weeks back about stripping Rangers of titles and losing stars off their strips was only for 1 reason, getting a reaction which then starts BANTER, personally i wouldn't like to see Rangers deducted 10 points because it would put Celtic in a no win situation, imagine the shame of still not winning the league with a 10 point start, that would be unbearable to take........Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

They wont win the tax case, Whyte has said as much during the interviews he has done!
And as for handing the titles back maybe they should do what they did to Juventus a few years ago, the result of which saw the club relegated to Serie B for the first time in its history. The club was also stripped of the two titles won under Capello in 2005 and 2006?

Cheers Tim, thanks for the backup, that guy's a donk, lol. It now transpires Whyte was banned by the Insolvency agency on a technicality - this from an Ibrox insider. Desmond has a clear and traceable track record whilst Whyte's is the opposite. It's clear there's no comparison between the two, it's just a shame some people make generalistic remarks and choose to ignore this. Fergus McCann saved the club from liquidation and, like Desmond, was a respected businessman. Both these men did not come under the same scrutiny that Whyte has, roll on November!
