Anyone see the sporting Lisbon penalty?, a whopper! Never seen anything like it lol Joel Campbell may have handled the ball in the real Madrid box, coentrao appeals for the free kick with his hands in the air only for the ball to be flicked up onto his arm, our very own Willy collum gives the penalty, correctly imo.

Aijurier band from entering the UK for the Arsenal game WTF What about us? Why don't they ban the full Barcelona team? Where is the sporting integrity there?

It's a joke PSG had a player stopped from coming into the uk to play arsenal for an alleged criminal offence But I guess not so funny if you have to explain it Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2016 19:27:02
And not saying Barcelona are full of criminals.

22 Nov 2016 21:54:57
Well you all are experts in tax law get a few of them banned lol.

Agree0 Disagree4

23 Nov 2016 03:25:46
Not full of criminals? What about the murdering they committed last time we played them? Not to mention the unbearable torture they inflicted on us supporters.

23 Nov 2016 07:18:41
Messi is a tax dodger surely he qualifies as a criminal.
Is mascherano not 1 too.

Smokey has got me thinking why is tax avoidance treated as a lesser crime than say a drunken assault stealing millions should be considered worse should it not.

And that's why we pay our taxes and you didn't.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2016 16:12:58
Suarez for his biting antics
Neymar dodgy transfer dealings
Messi tax affairs

Ha ha that would be one way to stop this forward line. Here is hoping for another great night tonight, if we play as we can then who knows?

Maybe if the Scottish electorate had voted for Independence instead of listening to the English Tory lies, backed - up by the poodle Browne, we would have our immigration services based in Scotland . They may have looked at the White collar criminals in a different light.
The fact that Barca's three criminals are welcome in Britain and a man charged with been involved in a pub brawl isn't, shows exactly what is wrong with our capitalist Tory Country.

Getting sick and tired hearing about Karamoko Dembele! He was born in London so if he chooses to play for England then good luck to him. I think you should only play for the county you are BORN in. Too many players use this loophole if you play in a county for 4-5 years then you qualify to play for that county also. It's all wrong, look at Germany? They are winning things and most of the players weren't even born in Germany. My Grandad was born in Dublin but if I was lucky enough to play pro I woulda only considered playing for Scotland as I was born in Glasgow.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

22 Nov 2016 14:18:38
I actually want him to play for England as it means he will be worth more money when we sell.

Agree1 Disagree4

22 Nov 2016 16:22:02
lets be honest he shouldn't be playing for either England or Scotland he should be playing for his country of origin both his parents are from Ghana i think?

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - The lad was born in England though so surely that should be who he represents regardless of where his parents are from? What you're suggesting is a player born in England shouldn't be allowed to play for England because his parents are English, what happens if a player's parents are from two different countries?}

22 Nov 2016 17:00:42
I'm with Mick Dundee.

Surely HIS country of origin is where HE was born Dundeebhoy!? He has every right to play for England, given that's where he's from. It's HIS choice no matter how it might sit with others.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people here happy enough to see McCarthy play for Eire, or several of the Scotland team play for Scotland, and they weren't born in those respective countries. The guidelines are perfectly clear, and people chose who they want to represent out of the possible options.

WCW, it's almost inevitable, for me, that he will get his head turned at St. Georges Park, one way or another.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Nov 2016 17:10:54
I've had this argument before and i'm with Dundeebhoy on this one, it should be the nationality of your parents so in this case Ghana should be his only choice, if you have parents from different countries then only then you should have a choice. The country you were born in shouldn't come into it because e. g if my maw happened to be in Jamaica on holiday and gave birth to me while there shouldn't make me Jamaican or able to represent Jamaica.

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - So every player has to play for the country one of their parents were born in regardless of where they have lived for years and where the player was born, raised and went to school?
Zidane's parents moved to France from Algeria in 1953, and Zidane was born in Marseilles in '72, by your ruling he should only have been allowed to play for Algeria! That's just nonsense, Stevie, sorry. And wouldn't that make KT ineligible for Scotland?
BTW you wouldn't be eligible for Jamaica if you were born there while your folks were on holiday.}

22 Nov 2016 17:20:06
Both Parents are from Ivory Coast, Karamoko was born in London, so he should play for England.

Agree4 Disagree1

22 Nov 2016 17:22:49
I think that it should be left to the player concerned.
If someone is born in one country but raised in another, he may well feel more of a bond to the country he grew up in, as he went to school there, his friends may well be from there, and he may enjoy the lifestyle.
It seems a bit harsh to me to say to that boy that he can only play for a country that might mean absolutely nothing to him.
I hope we don't get to the stage where clubs start influencing youngsters as to what country to play for just so they can get a higher transfer fee for them, Football is a cynical enough business as it is, that would be going too far in my view.

22 Nov 2016 17:39:05
I'm staggered that there is more than one person that thinks a player should represent the nation of their parents and not of themselves.

Agree2 Disagree1

22 Nov 2016 17:53:57
Karamoko Dembele's parent are from the Ivory Coast, Karamoko was born in London after his parents moved there years and years ago. He is English by birth, therefore he should play for England which he will choose to do IF he turns out to be the player everyone expects him to be. Found it very amusing Sky Sports comparing Karamoko to a wonderkid back in the day known as Sonny Pike! Pike was just a keepy up king! Never ever played for any professional club, all he ever had was trials! K-Dembele is playing for Celtic and running rings around boys 7 years older than him! Fingers crossed he turns into a great player and HOPEFULLY he stays loyal to the club that gave him the platform.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Nov 2016 17:50:56
I agree with you ed about the rest of the argument but what exactly is the rule about eligibility, if your parents were working in Jamaica for say two years and you were born there would that be different?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's covered by Article 15-18 of the FIFA Statutes but 15/16 cover what you want:

15: Principle.

1. Any person holding a permanent nationality that is not dependent on residence in a certain country is eligible to play
for the representative teams of the Association of that country.
2. With the exception of the conditions specified in article 18 below, any Player who has already participated in a match
(either in full or in part) in an official competition of any category or any type of football for one Association may not play an international match for a representative team of another Association.

16: Nationality entitling players to represent more than one Association.

1. A Player who, under the terms of art. 15, is eligible to represent more than one Association on account of his nationality, may play in an international match for one of these Associations only if, in addition to having the relevant nationality, he
fulfils at least one of the following conditions:
(a) He was born on the territory of the relevant Association and attended five years education;
(b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
(c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant Association;
(d) He has lived continuously on the territory of the relevant Association for at least two years.
2. Regardless of par. 1 above, Associations sharing a common nationality may make an agreement under which item (d) of par. 1 of this article is deleted completely or amended to specify a longer time limit. Such agreements shall be lodged
with and approved by the Executive Committee.

22 Nov 2016 19:02:01
Does anyone know what the rules are on nationality when it comes to representing a country. The been born in Jamaica while my maw was on holiday is extreme but say you were born there and spent a couple of years there does this qualify you to represent Jamaica? Say then you move to Spain and start school there and spend 5 years there and move onto Italy and spend your high school years there and your dad is Portuguese and your maw is Moroccan but you now live in Scotland. What countries can you represent?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If I remember right from Jordan Rhodes you have to attend school for 5 years in the country.}

22 Nov 2016 23:46:46
It's up to the boy, simple as that. Let him make his decision with the help of his family. Let's be honest, if he's got a choice of getting to a world cup or glorious failure n he's going to pull on the England shirt. **** it as long as he's also pulling on the hoops, who really cares.

Oh dear ex bears look away now, not only are Celtic in line for a MASSIVE CL payout £30MILLION and counting, Dembele's price tag is rising by the hour and if he scores versus Barcelona it could hit £50MILLION lol, but even players we have SOLD could also chip in with extra millions for our transfer budget. Forster, Van Dijk etc.

We know how good he is but when Barcelona plays the whole planet watch them and shut Kris Boyds bitter fat jealous gob up

Should we go with Bitton or Armstrong in the middle with Brown
I think it should be Armstrong as he has energy he can support the front line and get back to help out the defence
Bitton on the other hand slows the game down (at the wrong times)
Doesn't shoot doesn't track back doesn't support the forwards
Oh and Busqets will tear him a new one.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Nov 2016 10:42:18
I'm not convinced by Armstrong at European level but I am convinced that I've had enough of Bitton a long time ago. Would go with Armstrong and hope he doesn't have a mare.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2016 11:12:44
If Bitton did what he can do he would be a very handy player for us, particularly in Europe. He has really struggled with form and consistency though. Tough call. Glad it's BR and not me.
