UEFA have fined Ajax 20,000 (£16, 690) for the misconduct of their supporters during their Champions League game in Glasgow.

The Dutch club were accused of breaching the governing body's disciplinary regulations for "crowd disturbances and throwing of objects" by their travelling fans.

According to Ajax, the club will also be made to pay for the damage caused when fans ripped out seats at Celtic Park during their game on October 22.

The club say this amount is "similar" to that the governing body have ordered them to pay.

A statement from Ajax read: "In recent years, Ajax have been punished regularly, mostly for the lighting of fireworks. Besides the financial damage that causes the club, such misconduct also harms the image of Ajax and football in general.

"This applies to unlawful conduct in the stadium, but especially when it occurs in the inner city. Ajax will continue to act in order to prevent this misbehavior and punish [those responsible]."

They were also fined 25,000 (£20, 872) by UEFA this month because of their supporters, after it was ruled an "offensive banner" was shown during their match at the Amsterdam ArenA on November 6.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Typical £16, 690 . ( I'm not paranoid ) .DH

Agree0 Disagree0

DH clearly a newspaper joker doing the euro exchange rate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly very bad fans, stated as such by their own club officials.
Where were the Dutch police to protect the Celtic fans (best behaved in Europe) when the Ajax fans repeatedly assaulted them?
Plain clothes officers are the worst idea for football matches. All officers should be identifiable to away fans. It's not an undercover sting. Fans now don't know wherever they go if guys approaching them are police or violent miscreants.
UEFA need to request all policing is obvious at euro matches, no plain clothes confusions. Or plain clothes thugs setting about someone for just wearing an away supporters top, and the guy thinking its five away fans doing him.

Agree0 Disagree0

On TV coverage, online video etc, I've still to see a single undercover guy in jeans wearing a badge. Saying they had badges NYPD style around their necks looks untrue.
Policing visiting football fans with plain clothes undercover guys smacks of furtive entrapment. It's not professional policing at all. There should always be a heavy uniformed presence.

Why the short sentences? Why the lack of evidence I.E witness reports. Where is the photographs of the injuries sustained to the so called officers of the law? In my opinion rioting and police assault carries a far greater sentence that what has been dished out, there for this is a kangaroo court who hopes the percived short term sentencing will be excepted and the true nature of the events in amsterdam will be swept under the carpet as a result
HH Thommyj

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When you are sentenced to a custodial time, they take you from the court straight to prison. You appeal from prison. Why have they been released?

Agree0 Disagree0

The answer is simple, to make their police force look as if they were in the right
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm poster 1) correct @2).
The charges should be against the police for brutality.
By all means use plain clothes against your own fans, to get close to them. but never visiting fans. Visitors need police with high visibility to avoid confusion. And for the record any guy being grabbed by plain clothes guys will fight to save himself until they show they are police. But visible uniform presence instead of undercover always for football games deters bad behaviour in the first place. In fact no visible police could be argued to be enticement.

Agree0 Disagree0

These plain clothed arrest squads seem quite common in Europe, done a bit of research on it the other night. German police used them during the 2006 World Cup. One of the best examples was the final group games when Germany played Ecuador + England played Sweden. German's were a square in Berlin watching it on the big screen, England game was later. Police monitored the English contingent gathering at the steps, British police advised their German counterparts to close them off but declined to do so. After Germany won it kicked off and police used CCTV and plain clothed snatch squads to arrest "ring leaders" and used excessive force! {Ed007's Note - They are called 'spotters' or 'police spotters' HB and they have been used up here for 20/25 years. They get to know all the ringleaders faces etc and try to operate in the outer circles of the firm, close enough to be there to overhear things and gather information about meets but not close enough to raise suspicion about who they are.
Films like Green Street and the Football Factory are not very accurate abut what goes on behind the scenes at the top end and that one called I.D. is complete fantasy.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I know mate. I can understand it with firms, but with your average scarfers in a foreign country is bonkers! I used to go to the odd Accies game in the First Division (and SPL) if Celtic were playing the Sunday or away and I couldn't afford to go. Used to see the odd random guy you've never seen before sitting in Section AA or BB where the ACF used to stand. They stood out like a sore thumb by the way they're dressed, the fact sometimes they came in to the game with a NEWSPAPER (yes, sitting reading a newspaper when the football is on) and the ear peice was usually visible. An ex-FIU officer stays next to my mum and dad as well, told my dad about following R*ngers' ICF in Europe, they sat in the pub drinking with them because A. The FIU officers were R*ngers fans, and B. They were pally with them! {Ed007's Note - I was in the same boat as you, if my dad or uncles weren't going to the CFC game I was jiggered so used to go and watch the Accies, I still do go down now and again, they have turned into a very tidily ran club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic don't have a squad that travels abroad looking for violence. Or stay at home for that matter. Ajax clearly do.

The official graphics for the new approaches to Celtic Park are astounding. Absolutely world class. When the work is complete this sporting arena will be second to none.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just a pity the planning officials dragged their heels approving it, otherwise it could have been completed in time for the commenwelth games

All we need to do now is expand our stadium so it is complete the full way round thus making CP a cauldron of noise

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 We can't sell out Celtic Park (excluding Flag Day, 3 CL Group games + the Title Party), so why increase the capacity? So the stadium looks even emptier 90% of the season? Increasing the capacity would only lead to increasing ticket prices to recover costs, and at the moment most without ST's can't afford to pay £27 to see Celtic take on other SPFL teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

I got an email from the club, £29 for Aberdeen game today. Had the new picture on it. Celtic 2014.
I tried to put it on sightings page. {Ed007's Note - Nothing has came through to me yet.}

Ogilvie must now go on TV and clearly state sevco are a new club founded 2012. Or he must resign. For the President of the SFA to perpetuate this grotesque lie is vile. His position is untenable. RESIGN.
LondonBhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There is no integrity in the game in Scotland as long as EBT beneficiary Campbell Ogilvie, former RFC director, sits as President of the SFA and states outright lies.
Where's the First minister, ministers, politicians, judges, QCs, senior police officers, Lords, Generals, religious ministers, and all our dignitaries in our Scotland? Why are they allowing this? Hampden and the SFA is paid for from taxpayers money via Hollyrood. Somebody give Ogilvie a call to go on TV and set the record straight.

Agree0 Disagree0

There has been an attempt to conflate a company's goodwill with ownership of its historical timeline. HMRC define goodwill as "the value of the attraction to the customers which the name and reputation possesses". The value of purchasing Ibrox stadium and playing in the same colours as the old club, given the record of achievement of the old Rangers FC, was obvious to Charles Green, but equating goodwill to ownership of Rangers FC and its historical timeline is an incredulous sleight of hand that flies against both the common sense definition of goodwill and the concrete clarity of insolvency law.

To then argue that insolvency does not breach that timeline is to employ Alice in Wonderland logic. The effect of which would be to ensure that no football club could ever be compulsorily dissolved. By extension, companies about to be liquidated could adopt the same law-defying approach: sell off the core of the business under the a-set "goodwill" and resurface under a new company name but with the same core business activities as before, claiming an unbroken historical timeline. Of course, this is nonsense because it is unlawful.

It seems a Rangers fan can not come on this site and post sensible material without being pounced upon by Celtic fans. So can I just outline, for future reference, my stance on the Rangers Oldco/Newco debate. Because it seems to have got lost in translation somewhere since I started posting.

I am a Rangers fan, I have not hidden that. But I have not had my head buried in the sand all this time and I acknowledge that Rangers were liquidated and reformed (Ed007 can confirm).

However, while there is a team on the park at Ibrox, playing in blue, I will follow them. I will also continue to refer to them as Rangers for the simple reason it is easier than getting confused with oldco/newco/the rangers/sevco or whatever else.

I understand the frustrations of CFC fans and believe me I would be the same were the shoe on the other foot. But we are not all in denial so all I ask is that you actually take time to read my posts and what they are saying before hitting me with the same old "Rangers are deid" line. I enjoy this site as well as the Rangers site, but this one is always busier so I am on here more. I want to be able to come on and have sensible discussion with you, that is all.

Cheers folks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You're very welcome OMR and you're points are noted but facts are facts your club/company were liquidated and as far as we're conserned that's the game over so continue to suppport the team in blue that plays in blue at ibrox by all means and the rivalry between you and I will still be the same but it's over gone done finished except it as it is because as I said facts are facts only a desperate media and ruling body who can't deny half of their reconised audiance are what is keeping this farce going
welcome to the site and the truth
HHThommyj

Agree0 Disagree0

OMR do you talk with your fellow supporting friends and family about this belief? And do they agree with you?
I have two old RFC friends, university educated professionals, and they know its all new but "will go along with the story if it works". With that, of course, they lose professional respect and respect as men.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 2

I do, yes. My father and I still have our season tickets for Ibrox. But we both acknowledge the facts as they are.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry wasn't signed in when I replied there about me and my father. But it was me.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is one of the biggest problems with Rangers fans concerning this- they think it's based on opinion. It's not.

Agree0 Disagree0

OMR, I think that's quite a well written post and see your point. I am a celtic fan straight through and think quite rightly you should be able to come on this page as well as your own. chrage on mate.

That is opinion- yours.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP you're not "a Rangers fan" you're at best "a The Rangers fan". That's the whole issue.
By saying you're "a Rangers fan" is extremely sensitive for millions of people who don't believe there's a Rangers FC and who won't be duped or forced to accept it.

Campbell Ogilvie, Scottish FA President: "This week, the Scottish FA's Compliance Officer has reviewed comments made by the Celtic Chief Executive, Peter Lawwell, at the club's Annual General Meeting, after receiving an official letter of complaint from Rangers Football Club.

"The Compliance Officer has informed both clubs that there is no actionable breach of the rules. None the less, I am compelled to convey my disappointment that we find ourselves in this position, as a result of an apparent erosion of mutual respect between two of our oldest rivals.

"At a time when Scottish football faces challenges on many fronts, it is incumbent on our biggest clubs to set the highest standards. In this regard both the comments made, and the subsequent time, effort and resource imposed on our Compliance Officer to deal with the complaint, were wholly unnecessary."

Thoughts folks?

Personally I think the statement is fair enough. My honest opinion is that Peter Lawell didn't need to make the joke or whatever at Celtic's AGM. I understand he got asked the question and I do feel it has all been blown out of proportion, but he should have known better and just swerved any questions about Rangers to avoid the backlash that he would have known was going to follow.

I also don't think Rangers complaining was neccessary as throughout all of this everyone at the club has maintained they don't care what others have to say and that it's all just mischief making. So what is the need to complain about a throwaway line at a Celtic AGM?

Overall though it has certainly been given far, far too much attention in the press. I feel the media (and fans either side to an extent) latch on to the tiniest little things between Celtic and Rangers these days, any interaction that they have at all, as a way of filling pages in the absence of the Old Firm derby.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The complaint has been proven to be a complete waste of people's time.

The compliance officer and Ogilvie have stated it. So sevco board are to blame for the time wasting.

PL has broken no rules or done anything wrong. He deserves no criticism. Agms are supposed to be private affairs.

With such a small time wasting matter why has the president got involved at all? Wasting more time due to the wrongful complaint. But welcomed he blamed sevco for wasting time.

It is now a precedent that the SFA can do nothing to anyone in the game who says its a new club. As it's the truth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Campbell Ogilvie " it is incumbent on our biggest clubs to set the highest standards " . Aye right coming from a man who sat on a now defunct teams board profiting from tax cheating EBTS and non signing of players of another religion . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

Once again THERE IS NO OLD FIRM

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a few complaint's regarding Mr Ogilvie, 1. What doe's he mean oldest rival's. 2 He has a cheek to talk about disappointment, short memory.3 What exactly has PL done to make Mr Ogilvie disappointed, eh told the truth. 4 As head of the S.F.A he should be telling the truth about the tribute band. As an after thought knew all along they would not punish PL for telling the truth, if they had they would have had to face reality.
Spineless eveyone of them.
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

The statement is not fair enough. The Rangers are not our 'oldest rivals'. That is the whole point. Ogilvie is, as expected, trying to move the situation on in The Rangers favour. Peter Lawell made a statement at Celtic agm. The Rangers saw fit to complain. The complaint has been thrown out (because certain questions are not welcome in certain places) so why come out with this stupid statement? Either PL was wrong or the complainers were wrong. There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that the club called The Rangers is anything but Scotland's newest club. Keep the history but not the debts incurred during the history? Impossible.
Say it again Peter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not far far too much time in press at all. You're scared. I smell it.
We need this issue to go viral. Bring it to the fore. Get Peter to comment. Get it across all media.
IT EFFECTIVELY PROVES ITS A NEW CLUB AND THE SFA (OGILVIE) wants it shut up.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm scared? Scared of what exactly? I never once said anything about Rangers being dead or alive. If you ask Ed007, he will tell you that I have acknowledged on here previously that I accept Rangers are not the same as they once were.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oglivie once again there to muddy the waters he never actually gave a definitive answer where was that spinless regan or Doncaster who are the leaders fact is pl in the clear therefore New Club

Agree0 Disagree0

@7) OMR is this positioning an acceptance that you believe the current club at Ibrox does not have 140 year history and the claim to that history by them is wrong?
Sons of Truth

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 9

Yes, that is correct. I have never hidden from the facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

@omr wot is u can't get about the fact Rangers are no more, the team now playing at their old asbestos ground are called The Rangers, sevco, newco, but certainly not Rangers (they're dead)? WTF planet is Ogilvie on talking about oldest rivals? can't wait for the newco to go bust.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Nov 2013 11:05:40
OMR Your honesty is refreshing and you seem very reasonable, however; "I accept Rangers are not the same - - - - as they once were." maybe you choked on the missing word? You can do it, OMR and we can help you. It seems difficult now but you'll feel better in the end. pea

Agree0 Disagree0

"between two of our oldest rivals" lol. One was founded in 1888, the other in 2012, and they've never played each other?!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Nov 2013 18:31:39
It's official!
Anybody in the game can call them a new club and the SFA won't do anything about it.
Because they can't.
Only a full legal inquiry into sevco status will now do.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Come on, where have you gotten that from? It's certainly not there to be taken away from Ogilvie's statement. Ogilvie talks about Celtic and Rangers as "two of our oldest rivals", did you just blank that bit out? Course you did, as you have taken from it what you wanted to and discarded the rest. This statement leaves CFC fans no further forward in their pursuit of the SFA finally brandishing Rangers as a new club, anyone saying otherwise is talking out their ar53!

Now, we all know what Lawell was insinuating, but he said it in a roundabout way to cover himself. I'm sure you know as well as I do that had he come right out and said "Rangers are dead and those across the city are a new club, I don't know why they are being called Rangers" (as I'm sure CFC fans would have liked) then this would have been taken a lot more seriously than it has been by the SFA.

Rightly or wrongly, that much is a certainty.

Agree0 Disagree0

OMR your quote of Ogilvie is wrong. Read it and correct it. Let's be honest Ogilvie got involved in this piffle time wasting issue knowing the legal ramifications and to do his best to prop up the "same club" myth that cannot be legally substantiated. Ogilvie is all that's left of the 'same club' lie. The daily rag clearly stated Lawwell directly questioned 140years of history.

OMR, old RFC were not relegated three leagues as a punishment for anything. Vincent Lunny never did that. So its a new club entering at the bottom.

Green's new club never had an SFA membership, why?

Old RFC was in the SPL and voted (through D&P) to allow greens new club in. Two clubs at the same time. Explain.

I could go on and on. Liquidation meant RFC died. Everybody knows it including all RFC people but a lot of previous RFC people knowingly prefer a lie, as you.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ 2

So you are saying that Ogilvie did not mention Celtic and Rangers as "two of our oldest rivals"? I'm afraid that means nothing but you can't read properly, as he most certianly did say that.

Once again CFC fans on here are too quick to jump on any RFC fan who posts sensible material because they can't get the "Rangers died" point in quick enough. If you take the time to actually let what I say sink in, you will see that I have never once denied that Rangers are not the same club they once were. Ask Ed007, he will tell you that I have acknowledged this fact previously on the site.

Start reading what I say rather than jumping down my throat, and you will see that I am not bias towards Rangers or their situation.

@2 Giving to Phillippines + Kenya but can't legally support their own paying fans who were subject to corruption and police brutality. Real sense in that!

@4 Why am I being silly?

@5 As I said, I will continue to support those on the pitch, others won't now they know the club don't care about "supporters" (or as the board look at us - paying customers). It really wouldn't surprise me if these bhoys get letters through the post issuing them with bans from Celtic Park now. That would be the salt in the wounds!

The reason why I care so much about Celtic looking after our own is I know three of the lads personally and they are far from the kind to go to football and cause bother. They like a drink, who doesn't? If Celtic don't care how we are treated on foreign land, then who's to say other police forces and courts won't treat us the same from now on?! {Ed007's Note - I know young Damian Dobbin and his family very well and they used to get the same supporters bus as me, he was definitely not the type to go out looking for trouble. As soon as I heard he was involved I said to my Mrs that can't be right and she agreed it must be someone else with the same name.}

having just signed a 20 year old (fridge)from another club and posters on all the celtic sites wanting to see us buying young players like gauld, may, would we not be better closing down st ninians and the entire youth system as we never give any of the youth players a serious chance of breaking into the 1st team, since tommy burns restructured the set up how many have been given a chance?the only one I can think of is forrest . what is the point of plowing money every year into a product we don't use, how much does it cost to run (inc wages ) 3-4 million? we could watch these boys develop at other first teams then cherry pick the best every season . at present the system only seems to let players hang about the fringes of the first team stagnate then leave for nothing . what's the point of winning the youth double every year when the first team doesn't benifit from it,,,,, deep river bhoy

DRB, tend to agree with you. If we're not going to promote from within at this period in time then we're very likely never to.
Without sounding arrogant, we have a window of opportunity to blood 1 or 2 youngsters per season as its inevitable that we will win the league for the foreseeable future.
There is less pressure and losing more games per season than when RFC were alive isn't such a disaster.
I don't mean the occasional game either, a run of 10-20 games.
stevo dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

Scottish football needs its big teams to run youth academies. The Scotland youth teams need it. The £2m or so a year would go to the taxman anyway. Quite simply, the lads have to be good enough for the first team shirt. They are up against cherry picked internationals for their positions.
These lads take their training elsewhere and Scottish and UK football benefits from it.

Agree0 Disagree0

You would think we're running out 5-0 winners every week. Its 1-0 and 2-1 performances with a winner in extra time. Running out a youth who isn't good enough yet is too risky we need 3 points every game. You all appear to think there's Messi's and Ronaldo's waiting in the youth set up who are being deliberately held back who are game changing talents. I'm sure that not the case. {Ed007's Note - But we will never know if the youngsters are going to be good enough if we don't give them game-time. Plus the majority of fans would see a youth being promoted as a sign of the board being tight-fisted, a lot of fans would rather see us spend £2/3 million on a player with a fancy name than see our own youth being promoted.
Also one mistake by a young player is pounced on by our own fans and can be held against them for years which can really knock player's confidence. The ideal situation IMO is to have a squad made up with mostly home-grown players mixed in with some top quality foreign additions.
I would gladly see us lose a few games if you could see the team/squad developing and an improving style of play being installed throughout the club.}

Agree0 Disagree0

This is where scrapping the Reserve League is really ruining grassroots football in this country, too many lads are being told they're not good enough and scrapheaped at 21-23 because they've not broken in to the Starting XI.

HamiltonBhoy {Ed007's Note - Players reared in Scotland seem to lose something between Under 21s and first-team level. Simon Donnelly, Mark Burchill, Stevie Fulton and Barry Ferguson at Rangers are just some of the names that were all great youth prospects but ended up being average at best.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, historically Scottish SPL managers haven't had a clue on how to develop young talents. They just rolled out what was dished up to them as players mostly. Get on with it succeed or fail attitude. There's a lot more psychology, confidence building and specialist management and leadership skills involved. I'm not convinced Lenny has those or the inclination to put the time in with Watt. I think Lenny is mostly old school. {Ed007's Note - The thing is that at a young age coaches are more interested in the player being an athlete first and footballer second. 14/15 year olds gain nothing from running laps of pitches, they have a natural fitness level that can be maintained by playing matches and recieving football coaching. If you don't have a ball at your feet then you are learning nothing at that age.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with poster there mite not be a messi or Ronaldo in our youth but for the past good few years the youths have been dominating there leagues, so that logic you would think with 1 or 2 in team we could still beat most SPFL teams who have brung there youths through. Is May any better than Watt (if attitude was good), heard gr8 reports about mgeouch but have never really seen him get a game what's his best position anyway? How long b4 fisher is never heard of again

Agree0 Disagree0

It is disheartening but the top and bottom is, if the youth we already have were good enough, they would get a chance. Sadly it's only once in a generation that Scotland produces one world class talent. I really hope Rogic gets a string of games for us now to see what he's all about. His futsal background should mean he's technically there, and everybody that knows him has such high praise of the lad. He just needs a chance to showcase his talents.

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Ed007

Agree with your point but I think you're a bit harsh on Barry Ferguson putting him in that bracket. He was a fantastic player for Rangers and Scotland. He captained a Rangers team full of big egos and very, very good players and was still a stand out and all at a young age too. He performed well at Blackburn (some will say he didn't but if you watched the games you'll see he more than stood his ground against great teams/players) and he was influential with Birmingham as well. Still captain of a team near the top of the Championship (though he's been injured for a few weeks) and was captain of his country for many years. I'd say his achievements in football have been certainly above average. Yes he was a pain in the ar5e but he had his qualities on the pitch. He definitely doesn't belong in a bracket with those you mentioned, though I do agree with the essence of your point. {Ed007's Note - Oh come on, Ferguson was a terrible player and the only people I ever hear defending him are the local knuckle-draggers.}

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Ed007

Couldnt disagree more. But each to their own opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

All I'll ever remember Barry Ferguson for is the comedy gold moment when Samaras feigned to throw the ball at him and he nearly collapsed to the ground wi fear. Played at Mill United (same BC I played for as a youth) around about the same time as Paul Hartley + Stuart Kerr. All were rated very highly! {Ed007's Note - Remember wee JP McBride? What a player he was and ended up throwing it all away. I still bump into J now and again, he's got a couple of taxis on the road as far as I know. There were some great young players at Mill Utd, Arthur Hughes, Lee McCafferty, JP Lyons (a cousin of the McStays). I was the year above all those mentioned and it was Martin Hunter, Pat Clark and Phil O'Donnell (Pat and Phil left to go and play for Graham Livingstone's (the Dundee Utd scout and Holy Cross teacher) Hamilton Thistle. Livingstone is actually still working at Alloa with wee Zico (Hartley).
I think there was a bit of a bust up behind the scenes and a lot of parents took their kids away but there are some new coaches came in to try and sort the mess out.}

Aye JP was a great player Ed. Now he just loves a night out the same as the rest of us lol. There were a few gems at Accies early to mid 90s too (well before your McCarthy's + McArthur's) who failed to burst on to the scene for various reasons! I know a few younger lads who go to the games that left Holy Cross the last few years have had trials at Alloa. Lanarkshire was bursting with footballing talent, but the West of Scotland is a cursed place for a teen growing up! {Ed007's Note - You need to be totally dedicated to make it. The days of being able to sit up the park with a carry-out & 10 fags on a Saturday night are long gone.
One of my mate's nephews Jordan Allan (Airdrie) is going down to sign for Fulham in the summer, I've met him a few times and he seems to have his head screwed on, so fingers crossed that he can stay that way. He is definitely not any kind of big-head that thinks he is better than anyone, in fact probably developing a touch of arrogance or self-belief wouldn't do him any harm.}

SIX clubs are to be investigated for possible breaches of UEFA's financial fair play regulations, the European governing body has announced.

"The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) investigatory chamber, chaired by Jean-Luc Dehaene, has announced that six clubs involved in the 2013/14 UEFA club competitions have been referred to the CFCB adjudicatory chamber, " UEFA said in a statement, adding that a verdict is expected in all six cases before the end of the year.

"The introduction of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations has already had a very positive impact on the scale of overdue payables towards clubs, employees and social/tax authorities, as they have decreased from E57m in June 2011 to E9m in June 2013, " UEFA said.

"A similar trend was observed in September 2013."

Surely most of that reduction was due to rfc going bust in 2012?
