Just posted this in response on the Rangers page, Tic fan views welcome:

ok i will bite, i'm a tim but as i've stated before i think i am a fair one and i dont want Rangers dead, i am not obsessed by Rangers but i am following this story intently, this is the biggest footballing business story ever.
So to the penalties thus far:
For not submitting accounts - no UEFA licence, no Europe, nothing to do with SFA/SPL
For going into admin - 10 point deduction, one season penalty for trading insolvently, ie not being able to pay your debts as they fall due, applied by SPL as per all other teams.
For bringing the game into disrepute and not paying PAYE/NIC, for not doing (it would appear) any due diligence on a new owner (yes, the rules state it is the club which must investigate and sign off the fit and proper test) and not paying debts owed to football clubs - 160k fine and one year transfer embargo put in place by an independent panel.
I think the above is not really that penal nor have Rangers been singled out for who they are but rather for what they have done and the monetary size of the issues.
Now to the new and potential sanctions. In my opinion these sanctions are indicative of a reactive culture, a ship sinks the lifeboat legislation changes, the banks fail the capital tests change, the world becomes skint and carbon reduction measures get binned. So Rangers will ditch their debt through a CVA or NewCo, this is the bank failing, the ship sinking and so reactive measures are put in place to deter this happening again.
If d+p had managed to get this sorted prior to 30th May would this have been avoided? Maybe.
The sanctions are penal no mistake and are designed to punish and deter whilst allowing Rangers to remain in the SPL. Is it really that bad? Perhaps its designed to put any club in the position they would be in if they faced up to their debts rather than either a CVA or NewCo? IE no or very few signings, reduced wage offerings and living within means.
May i also put to bed the idea that Rangers paid out the same money when using EBT's than they would have had normal salary arrangements been in place. Regardless of any other arguments, ie attracting players with larger take home pay etc there is Employers NIC. This is now paid at a rate of 13.8% on any salary above c7K. So if we can assume EBT use since 2001 and use a blended rate of 10% then a player on £1m a year, less than 20k per week, would have cost Rangers an additional £100,000 per annum.
Ok there i bited.
Thanks
Nevis

Rangers FC and Rangers fans moaning about the transfer embargo should perhaps listen to Kenny Shiels who has just precided over Kilmarnock FC's best season for years , he says (Backed up by his chairman) that he wont be buying any players , probably echoed by 95% of SPL managers , skint by paying their bills and taxes , why should Rangers be allowed to spend money , when they owe so much , nobody will be adding many players in the close season apart from perhaps Celtic .

And if you sell McCourt.
Paddy McCourt
you going to have a riot on your hands. Lol

Believable3 Unbelievable1

That is what they were singing? lol....he is good and part of the club but hopefully ppl understand that he is not a first team member at the club unless he comes on with 15 mins left. he has to put in alot of work and dosent seem to do it. i can see him going, just hope other fans dont cause any problems because we are building and have some great players for a great team...remeber in Lennon we trust and has the best intentions for the club.

Hi Ed007.
Are you editing both sites tonight?
Think we got an imposter at our end as well. Re: the top post on RR.
It's either that or the O.P's turned into our version of "Rusty" lol
Previously O.B. {Ed007's Note - I can't edit the Rangers site, it is the only one I don't have access to. I will have a look at it, is it someone impersonating you bud?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi Ed. No not impersonating me,but it looks decidedly dodgy and has been signed by a regular poster.
Either that or the O.P. just got back form the boozer. If it is genuine... i don't know what to say really.lol
P.O.B. {Ed007's Note - I have said to the other Eds about it POB, they will keep an eye on it mate.}

right little debate:

hooper/rhodes/bangura/drogba

hooper & bangura

both cost between 2.4m & 2m,both strikers.

hooper,i believe will go to southhampton reading between the lines. if we get 7m for him then thats good business making a profit of about 3.6m + add ons etc.

bangura, tipped to be a good player by larrson however hasnt hit the ground running (personally dont think he will plus the rumour that we signed the wrong one etc) but with a knee injury & the idea of hooper going if he gets the chance & doesnt make it then were in trouble.....trying to sell someone who was a big hitter in another team & comes to spl & fails.so either way it will cost us money.

this then leads to rhodes..... if huddersfield want 4m for him (dont follow english football but th e lad seems to have alot of hype) & we sign him then thats 4m out of the kitty for a 4m player who has no euro exp, hasnt 'played' at a top level of football so what if hes another bangura? or then again what if hes another hooper ?

drogba now - good choice to leave ? i think he couldnt have left on a higher note

all the above has been the debate at lunchtime debate so just thought id add it to the tic page too as the words cva are going through me lol

Hi folks. Just read the latest RTC block. Very interesting and (if correct) absolutely scandalous. Think it's came out today to tie-in with the bbc program tomorrow night. Be interesting to see the reactions to it.........Stef

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Stef - the information is too accurate not to be true.

The author of the site has alreday stated that he intends to write and publish a book in relation to the whole saga. If he were to publish lies in his blog, then no-one would buy his book.

It's a racing certainty that what he is stating is true.

Rankers to apply for Interim Interdict against transfer ban on advice from QC (contradicts EU Employment law on at least 3 counts)

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Look what UEFA done to Sion let's hope they do

Agree5 Disagree0

Don't be a total f@nny. How would this benefit Rangers. The league would be scrapped so what would they come back to.

You've been reading too much of what that idiot Leggat says.

A business with lots of bad debt and no way of paying it would not be employing staff under these circumstances , non payment of tax to the government is against THE LAW of the land m8t .

Im assuming that the Bears walk went rather well given that I have heard bugger all else about it! I assume they are still camped out on the pitch? as they dont do walking away.... how could they leave?

Evinguu

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I can't believe that their sponsored walk was headed up by the Glasgow Rangers Accordion Band, which is an orange band.

You would have thought at a time when they are trying to attract a new owner they would not be acting in such a divisive manner.

K-Dot

Agree8 Disagree2

Afternoon, Evinguu my bear pals told me 600 turned up and raised £70k on the day, but there were 1872 places (hence 1872 walk) so 2/3 never turned up. Also RFFF claim fighting fund is now £530k, apparently most of this money is to be used to "fight UEFA, SFA" etc and pay legal fees, but this was not what fund was intended for... Timalloy
PS also what is it about Rangers and aggression "fighting fund" "war chest"

Agree5 Disagree0

True, though it's typical of sports jargon on the whole.

Renegade P

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Timalloy. So it is 1872 they started then, glad to see they finally decided on that over 1873! like their letterheads said!.

Thats actually quite poor, however if it was 100 quid a head then i can understand why not too many turned up i wouldnt pay £100 to go for a walk.... oh wait its on the premise it will help the club in their 'Battle' ,thats the next one that will come out, they will declare war on everything including the sun and the stars cos its their fault for providing the chemicals and particles required to create life in the first place and ergo its their fault for spawning life in the first place so they can later evolve people who go on to get one over on the gers. Unless of course you are religious then they will go to war with God for creating everything for the reasons pointed out above.

Also have Rangers not stolen more potential money from their queen? Did they not sell 50000 union jacks a few weeks ago? thats 50000 flags that could have been sold for the event thingy thats going on in a few weeks.... anyways i digress.

Totally agree with you on the strong language. I rekon its to do with pandering to the WATP bunch. By showing that they deserve these things due to being the people and that they have to 'Fight' to uphold the traditions and the history of them being thon people who feel they deserve everything yet may well funnily enough end up with nothing (in footballing terms before you start)

K-Dot i have always assumed that accordions are rather bouncy instruments is this band not just right up their street in so many more ways than they thought. Why didnt they do a sponsored bounce instead?. Or a sponsored silence! that would be bliss!

Evinguu

See thats a forum ae torture tae thum ye play orunj rekurds tae thum bit nail thur feet tae the flare, try it its fun

Agree0 Disagree0

K Dot if you look at the initials of that band G.R.A.B. quite appropriate dont you think?
Also on bears site all the bears getting angry because a poster called it an orange band, "accordian" to the bears it is just a wee band that happens to have accordians.... LOL Timalloy

Agree0 Disagree1

LOL Timalloy.

The band has a webpage and on the homepage it states :

"The band was formed to provide musical accompaniment to the Loyal Orders on parade........ Today the band takes part in various parades including the Annual Boyne Celebrations and Church Parades held by the Loyal Order's"

Sounds very much like an orange band to me.

But, I suppose if they just play twinkle twinkle little star and ba ba black sheep then that will all be okay.
