Regarding Hearts, The biggest worry for administrators going in to a zero cash company is how they, the administrators, are going to get paid. Particularly when another company owns the assets.

These ST sales are to pay the admin process. I find the story 500 tickets have been sold in the last day a ridiculous attempt to con fans into parting with money and getting on board with the milking process. The administrator even called it milking the fans. Admin need paid hundreds of thousands.

I also believe Whytes companies offshore own ibrox and MP. Why doesn't Stockbridge simply open the deeds? If its the right deeds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

BDO are also involved in the Dunfermline AFC administration.Bryan Jackson seems to have been as fair with them as he can be and has also stated that BDO's fees for Hearts will be paid from the sale of the club ie included in the price paid by the new owner. Apart from the cronic mssmanagement of the club Hearts cash flow problems stem from a large section of the clubs support keeping their hands in their pockets rather than line Romanovs any further.Obviously that tap needs to be turned on again until a new owner is found to pay the bills in the interim. 750 new season tickets have been sold from the adminstration announcement up until 5.30pm on friday

Agree0 Disagree0

WS is now the Chairman of the Board, the fans man. WS HAS to open up the deeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1) how can bdo's fees come from selling the club when BDO cannot sell the assets as they are owned by someone else and BDO cannot sell them? Ie the ground and the stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

3) not an expert just relaying what has been quoted in the press in Edinburgh however I will have a stab at it. The Lithuanian Administrator of UKIO(Romanovs bank) who hold the floating charge? over Tynecastle appointed BDO as the Hearts PLC Administrator. The Ukio Administrator is keen to sell the club as a whole(but only holds Tynecastle plus 30% of the shareholding) to refund some of the UKIO creditors, however what is delaying any potential sale is that Ubig(Romanov's Investment Co)are holding the other 70% of Hearts shares but they are not in Administration as yet. In other words, at the moment someone could buy Tynecastle from the Ukio Administrator but still not be the major shareholder of the club if Romanov refused to sell his 70% Ubig shareholding to that buyer. (hope I have got that the right way around)Once Tynecastle/30% shares is sold the UKIO LLithuanian Administrator will then pay BDOs fees from the proceeds of the sale.

i see a lot of posts further down the page about our midfield . I often wish we could go back to the days when every team in the world played a 2-3-5 .
young guys out there will be saying '' shammys insane''

but that's how it was, and it was good . we won the big cup playing that formation .

for the youngsters out there . you had a goalie, l/back r/back l/half, center/h, r/half .
outside/r inside/r center /f inside left outside / l

it was simple . .

now we have defensive mids / attacking mids holding mids overlapping backs , play in the hole? strikers wtf is that . I was an outside right { jinky } . I got the ball, tried to dribble or pass my way to a position where I could get a cross into the box or score myself . simple .

a great midfielder imo needs just two things, vision and aggression . vision to find and play a pass, and agression to win the 50/50's .

broonie 10/10 for agression, 5/10 for vision
super joe . 6 +8
berem . 8 +6
chris. 5+ 9
big vic . 9+ 7

quite a good way of assessing them . by the way I was 7 + 1 . I never passed . greedy b'd . shammy {Ed007's Note - You forgot all the new fangled inverted/false wingers, the false 9s' etc.
Personally I am a fan of the current 4-2-3-1 that is becoming more popular.
The French are trying to revolutionise football. There was a discussion a while back (between top football tacticians) where it was decided that the only time formations could be considered fixed was at kick off. There is a guy currently at Clairefontaine who for maybe 20 years has been studying if and how different formations are applied.
He advocates and teaches that certain sides (he cites Barcelona, Chelsea, Ajax and Kashima Antlers) that have achieved varying levels of success have actually now reverted to something between no formation at all and the Metodo approach and that strict formations should be a thing of the past.
He wants to see intelligent players that can adapt as the game changes and this is what is being taught to the French kids who are seen as the future of the game in France.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I remember when I 1st started playing I was inside right no position of that nature now exists how football has changed I then because of my height moved to sweeper again doesn't exist and I'm 36 not that old just shows how the game has evolved. Referring to a post about our left back needing strengthening for me put izzy at left mid and charlie(whom Lennon will always find a spot) at left back will work
welshbhoy1976

Agree0 Disagree0

We won the big cup with a then revolutionary 4-2-4 formation. It was a bit different in that the two wingers pushed forward and the two strikers tended to drop back

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the French philosophy Ed, start with a loose shape and be flexible depending on how the game goes. One of the plus points for me regarding Lenny is he seems to like this. I noticed a few times last season how he changed the shape mid game, sometimes two or three times.

The crucial part of this style is the game intelligence of the players. Every European team you see seems to have players who are smarter than ours. They will have 6-7 players who follow the play and always show for a pass. Quicker in movement and thought you would think British players were lumps of wood in comparison.

This might be where Balde helps us out. O'Neill was accused of playing a long ball game, which as we all know was nonsense. He played to a hold up man then played in the opponents half.A very effective game if used properly. Did anyone notice Spain the other night? Seemed to be playing in a 2-3-3-2 shape slipping into a diamond when needed, interesting I thought.green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Shammy, I just seen this and had a wee laugh. My Son and my Dad used to have weird conversations regarding football positions. My Son plays either Left Mid or Up Front and my Dad would be like where’s that, just to wind him up I think. He used the terms fullback, outside right (Jimmy Johnstone), sweeper etc but you are right, sometimes I think moving with the times is not always a good thing and all this revolutionising the game hmmm. I know for a fact my Dad would have enjoyed the way Barcelona play for one season then would have thought the tippy tappy passing as boring.

Just catching up on the latest fascinating release from Charlotte Fakes. In an e-mail dated 21/07/11 Hately was on the rangers payroll.Working from the press office at the dust bowl, he was 'managed by Carol Patton to undertake activities as directed by her from a PR perspective'.

Now not being a reader of the tawdry rag he is printed in currently I don't know he if was churning out his nonsense at that time. If so I wonder what his bosses at the tabloid would think? I wonder what the peepul will think? Yet another 'rangers man' doing what he is told to pocket his thirty pieces of silver, namely, spout nonsense to placate the fans.

The cost for this positive spin? TWENTY FIVE GRAND A Year! To an ex player to distort the truth through a tabloid paper. over £2k a month for corrupting the truth and conning fans. What a despicable breed these 'club I love' ex rangers players are. green jhedi

Alright Bhoys and Ghirls, always wanted to say this . But am a first time caller lol.
So where tae start?

Although a hope the new Bhoys go on to b superstars, does nobody think this is the time to be giving some scottish or irish youth a chance instead of signing a team full of multi national youngsters.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Monkey, I said on here a couple of weeks ago . I know more about dundee united youth players than I know about ours, because they get a chance up there to play in the first team .

i have also said on here that historically, that is the way it has been since the days of the quality street gang . since then I think only three have came through to be a big success . roy aitkin, aiden mcgeady and james forrest, and that's in 40 odd years .

so if I was you I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for another young scot coming through the ranks .
it's our fault, we demand success, so the powers that be will continue to scour the globe looking for the cream of the crop .

personally I don't care where they come from, just so long as they are good players and do well for celtic .

I want to see more of watt, atajic, george, herron, irvine, lindsay etc but how much leeway would nl be given if he tried to blood 5, or six youngsters into the team without buying the likes of balde, van dijk.hooper ledley, and then went on a losing streak,, we won the double and made last 16 of cl and there were fans calling for nl to be sacked / replaced,,,,,, deep river bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Shammy

A well would just b nice 2see, surely if maybe just a couple were giving a long run in the team along side established players they could do well or what are we waisting our money on lennoxtown for, specially when our youth teams normally walk away with all the trophies . If we sell hooper then Watt has to be giving a chance he's scored against the best team in the world so he knows where the net is. Even a long run in Spl, champ league maybe go with the experience wae sammy always prefered anyway.

@1. Paul McStay wasn't bad! Your point is spot on though. So many top rated youngsters and so few first team starters.

Ibrox (Jabba) can't stomach the Celtic signings and TV news coverage so they put out the old piffle that Jon daly has signed. Embarrassing stuff.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Daly has become a bit of a joke.To constantly repeat the party line of not here for the money is just stupid.Does he really think anyone is swallowing it?

Strange that in the picture I saw he was posing using the back of a shirt.Has the Blackthorn deal hit a snag? You would think their new sponsors would be unhappy, that's what they pay for, press coverage. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

It makes them think they're still our rivals and on the same level. Sad and delusional. They should find some dignity and not try and trump Celtic good news. Just let it go and focus on their SPFL div3 football.
All last season, hours before the Celtic euro games, ludicrous SEVCO releases via TV third channel sports news collaborators. Pitiful and green with envy.

Agree0 Disagree0

The whole media circus around TRFC has been a debacle since Jabba sashed his mass in the door. What should have been professional serious briefings of factual data (to inform their fans and show them some respect) were substituted by misinformation, sensationalism, confusion and downright tabloid lies. The whole Green and Jabba show was a media circus. McCoist coming out with his masters voice at times. Jester.
Celtic's intellectual, distinguished silence has spoken volumes. A class act.

Agree0 Disagree0

@3. Spot on. Celtic haven't dirtied their hands over this mess. No stone throwing, just business as usual. Class

Agree0 Disagree0

As soon as they find an intellectual at SEVCO I'll start worrying.

Agree0 Disagree0

The article involving the big "Scapegoat" (Daly) in today's paper, nobody believes him, not even the most gullible of Sevcovians, he's 30 years old (not nearly good enough for Celtic) and is most definately there for the payday, he will be retired and back living in Dublin with maybe a wee Ramsden's Cup medal tae keep his Scottish Cup medal won with Dundee Utd company before Sevco ( if ever at all) return tae the big time, he'll know all about it when they have a couple of poor performances and "the peepol" are looking for somebody to blame . Welcome too it big man lol . Drewzybhoy .

Agree0 Disagree0

All through this nasty debacle, Celtic as a company and a football team have never had to resort to even mentioning their name. That is absolute credit to our chairman, board members, manager and players. In fact, if it wasn't for our fans banter, they would have been gone long ago. Let's face it, they are a million miles away from us and if they don't adapt to having a limited revenue stream they will be lucky to see themselves back in the SPL. You can't have a share issue every year.

IMO this is going to be a make or break season for Beram Kayal, if he can stay injury free and regain his form from the first season and a half then I really believe he could replace Big Vic if he leaves. I know it's a big if when looking at his injury history but I've always had faith in Kayal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kayal has the ability, just hope this will be his year . TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Kayals confidence is shot to heck. The thug McKluggoch did a proper job on him. I hope he gets a run in the team and shows what he has. He is a good player and you don't lose it overnight. I cannot help but feel there is more going on with this laddie than meets the eye. No evidence just a gut feeling that there is something else upsetting his game that we fans know nothing about. Morning bhoys and ghirls!

Got the same kind of feeling of satisfaction I got when we signed Ledley about VvD. Seen a bit of him last season and he looks a real gem!

Can't help but feel we still need a LB, a creative MF and another FW.

What about Nathan Ake from Chelsea on loan at LB? Voted Chelsea's YPOTY 2013.

Surely the lure of first team football, including Europe, could be a lure?

As for a FW. I'd love Adam le Fondre and/or Charlie Austin as a direct replacement for Hoops!

Hail Hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nathan Ake looks a decent player but I would rather we gave one of our own youngsters a chance. Surely we have a left back in our youth team who is capable of amking the step up.

Looks like NL and JP have unearthed another 2 great young signings. For the first time in a few seasons we look as if we're building a good solid defence. Would just love to see 1 big experienced out and out CB come in and there plenty available for Free Transfers just now that would fit the mould. Dunne, Berra, Squilacci? Think any of these could fit in great and help shape the young defenders.

Hello Bhoys and Ghirls. Been away for a spell catching up on some great gigs ( The Roses were just great!) and I have to say I am delighted with our business so far.

On the signings I think we seem to have done pretty well. Balde certainly looks like the bully we have needed for some years and Van Djike seems to be a player. This info is through You Tube so it has it's flaws, and I still suffer from Banguarra nightmares, but fingers crossed.

This season I would expect Rogic to cement a starting place. In his natural position, forward mid, I am sure this boy can be the play maker we need. The only thing left for me is a full back.It seems we are covered right side, Lustig and an injury free Matthews should see us okay .That leaves Izzy.Pretty average last season but we know he has got it.Some competition might be what he needs.

Outgoing? It seems like Big Vic will be off.We all expected it, but I would be surprised if he left for Southampton, no disrespect, as I feel he could play in any EPL team.If the figures, £10m plus add ons, is correct that's good business. But nothing seems definite yet. I suspect Pistol Pete is playing poker here.

On Hooper I get a bit worried. It seems to me he is playing us.It looks like he intends to run his contract down. Now that is his choice, but Lenny cannot let it cloud his judgement. We all know the gaffer is a fan of Hoops, but if he won't re-sign then he should not be starting ahead of our other forwards. As it happens I think a Watt-Balde partnership might develop into something good, but Hoops must be sold if he intends going the pre contract route in Jan.

A few weeks ago I was angered by Celtic's stance to the unopposed Ogilvie retaining his position.I even considered sacking my season ticket because of this.
Now though the hunger is back! It looks like we will have an even younger team than in previous years.
If, and it is still a big if, we progress to the CL groups,
then we will be in a strong position to dominate domestically for years to come.It might be an interesting season.green jhedi

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Both the new lads are tall and I expect them to cause problems for defenses with Celtic corners.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, watt balde, should be trialled in pre-season, see what we have, left back defo a problem area, Charlie could slot in there, defo a time for getting excited, van dijk looks a bargain, rogic changed the game v iraq, do we still have victor noring? Swedish under 21 keeper? On our books, he's a good keeper

I like st ledger, fights as a centre half for everything and av free

I agree mate, i'm loving this transfer window, i'm sure balde will work out. I don't think it was our scout that found bangura anyway pretty sure it was larrson who recommended him. doesn't matter now anyway, one more good signing and ill be a happy bhoy, cover for samaras/izzy on the left wing is all we need now, I know izzy is a lb but he plays better in lm I think people are saying another cb but I can't see it happening. we got some good players there already wilson, mulgew, ambrose (most of the time) and the new guy.

GJ, I hope weren't one of those eccied out of their face Football Factory extra look-a-likes at the Stone Roses!

I'm optimistic about both signings particularly Van Dijk and hopefully if we come up against Juventus again, Balde won't be so easy to bully.

I still do not get the Ogilve situation, 2 Clubs go into administration in the space of 18 months and he was heavily involved with both. All bragging aside about Rangers and Hearts, they are/were 2 huge Clubs in Scotland with well publicised debts yet as President of the SFA, he just watched. Did he want rid of them and what is the over and above inflation pay rise? ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

@ Mrs E; No, I was the John Daniels lout at the back! Great gig but Declan was better for me, must be getting old! I agree with you totally on Ogilvie.

The only thing you can be sure of is brother Ogilvie must have friends in high places. That is why I was so frustrated by Celtic's silence in the matter.

I assume Pistol Pete has his eye on things and for whatever reason this move must have suited us.I also find it strange, given the limit on registration of over 21's in his league, that sneaky was signing so many players over this age. A few weeks later and the limit is lifted. Just a coincidence i'm sure!. green jhedi

The Goodwin ramble was nonsense. We have to start our season early for CL qualifiers. If we do well again in the CL we will raise the co-efficient which will benefit all clubs.

Because of this we miss the chance to have a money earning friendly against top class opposition, and give the Irish Bhoys and Ghirls a chance to see us play without the travel and expense. Smacks of envy for me.green jhedi
