Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Its so strange why a manager would trust Duffy britton and brown as for Christie he was all over the place how can he think these gutless players will, help him as they can't defend they should never pull a Jersey on again as these players chucked it as for the rest none have played to help two many chucked it two attacks two goals our goalie doesn't want to save the ball who scouted him a blind man as every fan knows this is a disastrous all celtic fans are gutted Duffy who are you how did you bluff your way into Brighton headless chicken Bitton is his partner in crime a midfield cb who clueless we can't expect this to be celtic I've been lost but this is over omg total mince.

I don't agree on Brown. He still cares and is passionate but his legs have gone unfortunately but let's not forget the good times he has helped deliver 👍.

Celtic have been poor in defence this season.
We don’t have a keeper who can command his box.
Our fullbacks are full of energy but can’t deliver a good ball into the oppositions box.
Also their positioning is poor when trying to defend.
There’s been no balance in our central defence all season.
We’ve tried a back 3 which was a disaster and when we play with a back 4 our players are getting played out of position.
The fans wanted a left footed CB so Ajer could play on his more natural right side.
Ajer played on the right side of our central defence for the first time probably ever at Ibrox and he was our best player on the day.
Bitton shouldn’t be relied on to save the day in central defence. We concede too many goals from set pieces but what do we expect when Bitton isn’t a natural centre half and some fans would argue the same about Ajer.
Duffy has plenty of heart and guts but he has no ability and shouldn’t be anywhere near a Celtic team again.
I would also move Jullian on because he’s been one of our non trying players this season along with his fellow French teammates and that’s unforgivable.
Going forward I wouldn’t keep any of our keepers.
I would keep Taylor and Welsh for cover and possibly Frimpong because they will all continue to improve.
I would love to keep Ajer but that’s unrealistic.
The rest can be moved on to allow our rebuilding process for next season.
So technically I would keep 3 defenders for the future, which means Celtic need a new goalkeeper and a whole new defence to play in our starting eleven for next season.

Gutless? Really? Brownie gutless? Come on! We’re all hurting but let’s hold on to a bit of reason!

Agree3 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 11:49:16
broony only fault is he is getting old and that's something no one can be criticised for. scott brown was a energetic player but as time goes on its bound to go at some point and it would be very unkind to criticise him for it. he has tryed to adapt to a different style that will allow him to play longer a style fans slate him for.

he was never a holding midfielder he was a midfielder who likes to drive and get about and get involved in the midfield battle and drive forward. age has caught up with him and to be slated for it is poor he is another celtic legend who has been abused when things have went wrong through no fault of his own. is only fault was he got old.

There is going to be a major clear out of players with a new manager already agreed to come in (Howe's that sound) .

All loan players will go back to there respective clubs apart from Elyounoussi.
Celtic and Southampton are hoping to come on an agreement to get a deal done involving Elyounoussi with Ntcham going the other way.

Expect loads more players to leave.
Bain, Elhamed, Ralston, Laxalt, Bolingoli, Hendry, Duffy, Bitton, Brown, Ntcham, Christie, Rogic, Shved, Edouard, Griffiths, Bayo and quite a few youth players.

We are currently trying to get up to 7 players signed up on pre-contract agreements.

Marko Dmitrovic gk
Jonas Svensson rb
Tyrick Mitchell lb
Steve Cook cb
Ben Davis cb
James McCarthy cm
Ben Pearson cm

3 players we are willing to pay for are
David Moberg Karlsson rm
Nathanael Mbuku lm
Jasper Junker St.

Kinghenrik when Elyounoussi signed again on loan, I can remember his interview. I genuinely think he loved fact fans were desperate for him to come back. Hope he does sign.

I’d be delighted if we signed Nelly Noosy.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 20:48:16
Not saying its not true but IF we are bringing in a new manager in the Summer would we really be trying to bring in as many as 7 players on pre contract? As the new manager will want to bring in his own players.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 20:52:03
Be happy with those signings hopefully not dragged on too long and lose out on most of them as usual.

Be happy with those signings and getting rid of deadwood is the way forward 😊.

Kinghenrik, that's some detail contained in your post. How did you come by this information?

Kinghemrick can't see that happening if Howe is agreed why not now?

Signing seven players pre contract may suggest Lennon ain’t going anywhere?

We’ve all heard the rumours that the league will close down early.
Maybe that’s why Celtic have not replaced Lennon yet.
The lower divisions are currently on a break with no guarantees that they will start back up.
Maxwell also wrote to the Championship clubs only last week to ask them if they wanted to suspend this season.
A decision to stop the leagues might be closer than we think.

Do you really think it's close to being called? I'm not seeing it as a reality yet.

Have other/ any leagues across Europe called it early? Or even discussing it?

Stay safe, stay strong, stay champions (for now! )

I’m probably clutching at straws Stubbsie but it makes us think it could be the reason why Lennon hasn’t been released from his duties yet.
I think if it does go to a vote there will be a few bears with sore heads in a panic.
But then the SPFL will move the goalposts and allow an alternative solution to award the titles.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 19:14:19
BB I don’t think you are clutching at straws (which shouldn’t be used just now by the way) by any street of the imagination we’re currently in the middle of a global health crisis and there are more important things than ensuring national football leagues are played to a finish. Particularly given the furore created by the media and outrage expressed by the government over a pre-approved pint poolside. Null and void. It’s only right Buzz in the interest of sporting integrity and public health.

Agree4 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 20:48:49
Buzz that's a good point mate. I think government is more worried about this latest strain than any of the other strains since last year. Added to that apparently there is a video of Jason Leitch saying there will be no holidays this year. I will be shocked if season is finished.

Football aside I genuinely feel for Timalloy and his family. Its bad enough the year he and his family has suffered, had nevermind falling ill again. Hope he makes speedy recovery and is back posting soon.

New poster folks. Question, do you think this circus would have rolled on this long if the fans would have been in the stadium? I personally don't think so.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 18:13:43
Swiftly welcome to site it’s all if buts maybes aye and maybes naw. If ma granny hudnae met ma granda and all that. If the global health crisis hadn’t happened would we have done the 10? If the health crisis was as is but fans were in would a solution have been found sooner? Who knows. We are where we are and it is what it is as they say.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 18:35:29
Welcome Swifty67

I think if the fans had been allowed in then its conceivable the league table would not look like it currently does.

There is no way the want-away mob would put in the performances they have with 60k only a few feet away. The roar of the crowd when you do something to get their bums off their seats is a great motivator.

Conversely, I believe it was the weight of expectation from Rangers fans that was holding Rangers players back. 50k yelling and bemoaning every stray pass makes players nervous and underperform which effects results.

So, my personal perspective is that we wouldn't be where we are.

Later Champions (for now! )

Games should have been won either with or without fans
If these performances had happened with crowds it would have been mayhem. may actually have fixed it earlier as board etc would be getting it big time.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 16:20:12
Do 75% of games have to played before the league can be called? I think even the most optimistic Celtic fan would admit the league is over and i don't think we can really argue otherwise however im sure i read that 75% of games have to be played before it can be called and the Sevconian tears would be great to see if it did happen lol.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 16:52:19
Ryan
75% is only mentioned because that’s when the league was called last season.
The SPFL don’t have any power to call the leagues at any time.
They are only a committee for the clubs themselves.
If the leagues do get stopped, it will go to a vote similar to last season.
Each of the 4 leagues would need 75% of the clubs to vote Yes for the league standings to remain the same.
I think there will need to be a compromise to allow the Premiership and the Championship leagues to be called early because I don’t think they will get enough Yes votes form the lower league clubs who’ve only played 8 league games this season.
That compromise would be to allow the 2 lower leagues to start back up in a few months and play through May and June to finish off their seasons because those lower leagues don’t need to release players for the Euros.
If the leagues do get stopped they will need to come up with a better plan to award Sevco the title because I can’t see them getting 75% from all 4 divisions.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 17:09:23
If we are honest if the league has to finish Sevco would deserve to win it this year But it would be one of the funniest things ever if they null and void it.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 17:25:10
Your right Tony they do deserve it this season and Celtic deserved it last season.
And that’s why I don’t think null and void will happen.
But the SPFL might need to move the goalposts and come up with a different plan or compromise because 75% from all divisions is a big ask.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 17:45:30
They deserve nothing. If the league is called and it’s not mathematically impossible concede nothing. Null and void.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 18:19:44
Null and void would only drag Scottish football deeper into the mire and bankrupt a few clubs, which effects every team
The league does deserve to go to the south.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 18:38:36
If they won a raffle I’d take their ticket.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 18:52:57
Exactly JFP. When it's mathematical impossible so be it. Football stopped last season without C.V. call offs, isolating players, positive tests, postponments rule breaking etc.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 19:09:21
Is this where we have sunk too, wishing for null and void. We have been a shambles this season.
It wasnt mathematically impossible last season when we done 9 and felt 10 was a formality.
Time to forget 10 and get our club back to where it belongs next season with the best fans in the world cheering them on HH.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 19:23:11
Pud it’s just simply too dangerous to continue. I’m sure whichever clubs may be disappointed in the respective leagues and none more so than us if it’s not mathematically impossible will accept that with a stoic stiff upper lip in true British fashion. Null and Void.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 21:10:32
All I read is we was handed the league title in a zoom conference call. If they call the league surely they won't want such a "tainted" title handed to them in similar circumstances right? Knowing their logic ours will still be tainted and theirs would be legit. As much as I hate them I'm not bitter to admit they deserve it if it is called early just the same as we deserved it last season. Having said that it would be hilarious if it did get voided it would be a smashing 2nd prize for not getting the 10 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 22:27:37
It's embarrassing hoping for Null and void. They've won the title already and have been by some distance the best team in the league this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 01:23:06
Jfp if they won a raffle id want proof they'd paid for a ticket.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2021 07:17:10
Not only embarrassing hoping for null and void but IMO immoral, it’s akin to hoping the C.V. continues or worsens
Why, To save face because we couldn’t do it on the football park under the same conditions as everyone else
Not a class act and degrades public opinion of this club will just be seen as bad losers/ entitled/ elitist
I can just see stein, mcgrain, McNeil etc pulling that line
Clubs lost something these last few years.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 14:51:20
As per Kev83's post lower down; the club have definitely shown an out-of-sight - out-of-mind attitude with the support all season.
We all appreciate the extraordinary circumstances that have contributed to the difficult situation we are in; but the club, manager and players have all been well at fault - almost from day-one in performances, bad attitude and even fitness levels and that is unacceptable at our club and requires explanation and apology.
It could be that the new managerial candidate may not be free until the summer and appointing an interim would not be feasible, but at least keep the fans informed and appreciate the faithful folk that pour their cash, heart and soul into the club daily.
The season may well be written-off by the Board, through some very poor results, severe inconsistency and the worst defense for decades and it's no surprise we are three quarters through a transfer window, with nothing (in or out) , with all the self harming distractions, feuds with the media, Scottish Government, almost constant negativity and speculation.
All season we've been dogged by wrong decisions on and off the pitch. It's time for one big correct decision for the fans sake.

Agree6 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 14:11:12
For some reason the Celtic Board won't sack Neil Lennon, does anyone think that the board won't sack Neil Lennon and that they might think that the season will be made Null and Void, so they won't bring in any new players, and they will leave it till the Summer, for the new manager to be in place with quite a number of players leaving, and other players signed to replace them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 15:40:43
I have joked about a null and void recently (in bad taste) , but I can see any decision being delayed until the very last minute, because up until now our top league has still managed to function with minimum game postponements and the current lockdown possibly improving the situation - as todays news reports a slight drop in figures?
Anyway the Establishment would not want a Null and Void, that provokes 'significant social unrest' to quote Stewart Regan ha ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 13:06:55
Keep Lennon or sack Lennon does not matter the thing that matters is someone stepping forward to tell us is what matters nobody is telling us jack rubbish someone needs to step up and tell us what they are doing or trying to do. Let snipets out via the media is a cowards way out.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 11:45:53
From a pure footballing point of view Lennon should have been gone long ago . I don't get why some people think he should get to the end of the season it'd madness things would get worse . Lennon said himself if he didn't think he could turn things around he would walk away then he more or less conceded the league the other day so why has he not walked away then? Its simply down to money in my eyes not for the love of celtic.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 12:38:20
Difficult to fix things with Lennon still there, looks like a few nervous games in the run in
Hopefully it’s only football results that are discussed from now.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 12:38:27
Lennon and Celtic should come to an agreement about a severance package.
I don’t see why Lennon should walk away whilst he’s under contract.
We don’t know the details of his last contract at Celtic when he stepped down.
It looks like he isn’t willing to do that again and possibly cost himself in the process and I don’t blame him.
I’m sure Lennon is only on a one year rolling contract.
It’s not as if he’s got a few years left of his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 14:01:23
I don't reckon it's to do with money Buzz I don't know what it is to do with. But Lenny must b millionaire and set for life can't see him refusing to go for few hundred grand or whatever is left of rolling contract and by same token can't see Celtic refusing pay what's due either. The money that's been wasted this year what's another small sum to bring this period to a close. As said don't think anything do with cash Only pl and Lenny know why 8 wins in 22 seemingly acceptable as nothings changed and results getting worse.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 14:19:06
It's probably also down to the fact he realises that this will be his last ever job with a " Big" Club.

So very hard to walk away from your dream job knowing you'll never get another like it or even work again.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 16:31:39
It's looking likely he will be here till may. If so a manager will have to rebuild a depleted squad whilst trying to navigate euro qualifying early rounds. If it isn't sorted asap next season will start of the same with us getting beat by so called lesser teams whilst scrambling about for transfers. There seems to be more and more fans seriously thinking of not renewing. Would the threat of empty seats make the Board Act? Or will they arrogantly ignore it as there's thousands on the waiting list.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 16:33:19
The thing that is worrying me is if they keep him as manager until the end of the season it won't help a new manager coming in to sort out his style and evaluate the players he has before the start of European competition it doesn't make sense to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 10:44:35
If celtic actually came out and said Look we know its not good enough, we know a massive rebuild is needed, we are planning things right now, Lennon will stay to end of season because we think the market for a new manager will be better at that time, would some fans claim down a bit?

Believable7 Unbelievable0

22 Jan 2021 10:52:18
Kev spot on its all about communication and it would remove the sense that supporters were being commodified and treated with contempt.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 11:07:38
i think that is what's needed kev to stop this melt down with fans and let's try do something with the rest of the season. once the board came out and says they won't bow to mob pressure i knew lenny would be backed till the end of the season so was only one thing to do get behind him till the season was over.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 11:09:29
Good post kev. Lack of communication from the board.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 12:11:10
I agree this would be ideal but we also have to remember Lennon himself might not actually be happy with that, he himself could believe that he's the man still to take us forward although we all know he is not.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 12:12:08
Personally I don't see the point in it Kev.
If Lennon stays until the end of the season he gets 5 months salary until then and then then gets his payoff which will be a further 12 months as I believe he is on a 12 month rolling contract.
If there is no manager available that the club want or if an overhaul is going to happen behind the scenes between now and end of the season Lennon should still be sacked and an interim manager like Gorson Strachan brought in to steady the ship. there's really no point in delaying the inevitable, dragging it out will not do anyone any good. If Lennon stays in the job he will continue to antagonise fans with stupid comments before and after games, he is egotistical and is clearly kidding himself on that there is anything left to play for this season. I don't see him accepting he's keeping the seat warm for someone new.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Are people forgetting that Gordon Strachan has a job? Do you think he will walk out on Dundee - a job he's describes as a labour of love - just to be Celtic manager for 5 months?}

22 Jan 2021 12:30:04
Ed has Philip Cocu gone to any club yet?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - No mate.}

22 Jan 2021 12:43:47
There’s a big possibility the manager Celtic want has already got a job and Celtic can’t get him until the end of the season.
Celtic then have 2 choices until then and that’s announce Lennon will stay until the end of the season before being replaced.
Or Celtic sack Lennon now and bring in an interim manager until a permanent manager is announced.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 12:46:32
Sad to say but first thing that passed through my mind was kicking the can down the road.
Second thing was maybe the way to do it though shows lack of faith in Kennedy etc, would NL be getting his notice now to reduce compensation?
Will players try or try less for Lennon thinking he is off? as opposed to a new manager?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There will be no reduction in compensation. Lennon is on a one-year rolling contract, every morning he opens his eyes he has a year left on his deal.
Personally I don't believe for a minute that stalling Lennon's inevitable departure is down to the finances.}

22 Jan 2021 13:07:43
I did actually forget Strachan was at Dundee Ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wasn't having a pop at you, Del but his name comes up all the time as a stop gap. 👍

22 Jan 2021 13:24:22
Ed I have been saying this all along. Whether he walks or is sacked he gets a years money because of the rolling contract.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 13:30:15
I didn’t know that Kev.
I thought if Lennon walked then he was breaking his contract agreement and that’s the reason he’s not stepped down this time.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 13:30:57
Get where your ciming from kev . but I would pull the trigger now and get someone in. thst woyld give him 6 months to plan ahead assess the squad and get early business done. leave till the end of the season and it'll be the usual scampering about trying to get players.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 13:49:11
Mally its been like that since oneill mate. I might be wrong but the only manager that hasn't had that contact since then was Rodgers when he signed his second when he got the second contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 13:51:12
Buzz its something to do with the fact the contract is rolling. Every day is the first day of a years contract but also the first day of his notice period.

Sorry mally replied to wrong person 😂.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 14:39:27
I didn’t realise that either to be honest, I presumed that if they told him now he wouldn’t be getting a new year deal he would just be paid until the end of the season. like Kev mentioned though they could still keep fans in the loop slightly especially as they will be pushing new season ticket sales soon.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 09:14:45
ED do you know if there has been any talk with Eddie Howe. Bookies have suspended betting on him. Could there be any truth in it with the bookies suspending betting.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't know of any talks with Howe, Paul and I wouldn't pay too much attention to what bookies do.}

22 Jan 2021 11:10:34
Cheers Ed. How would you feel about Howe.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd be happy with that appointment but I'd prefer for us to look at someone like Phillip Cocu. I don't see guys like Ralf Rangnick as realistic options.}

22 Jan 2021 11:48:51
Ed Ralf Rangnick would fit our business model down to the ground buying established players who are not household names and developing youth using the opportunity to play European football and being a shop window for the EPL to our advantage. It would be a real statement of intent and his wages would be covered by the number of season ticket sales relative to what might be the case otherwise. 👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's not going to happen, JFP. The Covid stuff aside, all the talk of not renewing season tickets is absolutely honking patter imo.}

22 Jan 2021 12:28:50
Ed there are a lot of season ticket holders that I know and others around me that were disillusioned with performances and the lack of progress in Europe and the only thing that was bringing them back was the holy grail of 10 after which their intention was to call it a day. I genuinely think we will struggle to have 50,000 season tickets and 10,000 on the waiting list or whatever the numbers are unless the club shows a bit of ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That'll be "faithful through and through" scratched from the tunes then. Seriously though, if people don't want to renew their season tickets that's fine, don't renew them but please stop the attention seeking cringey long winded reasons on why they're doing it. Nobody ever felt the need to explain why they bought one and they weren't moaning about Peter Lawwell when we were winning 9 in a row and the stack of trophies we've racked up over the last decade.
Nobody ever posted on social media "I'm a pure glory hunter and now that Celtic are winning I've bought a season ticket".
Because that's what it looks like, "Celtic have had one bad season in the last 10 so I'm not going back".}

22 Jan 2021 12:43:18
If the board made any such statement like the first posts, we’d be lucky to finish second. What would be the point in having management and players being told they are dead men walking, not exactly going to boost morale for what’s left of this shot show.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 13:08:59
I'm as disillusioned as the next guys the minute but there's only 2 reasons I would give up my seat family and health if buying my ticket came at the cost of my family having to do without it 💯 would be gone or if I was physically unable to attend matches then it would be gone but I have kept it through worse times than this.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I seen someone on Twitter the other day say something along the lines of "Not having fans in has really affected Celtic this season but if Desmond doesn't get rid of Lawwell and Lennon I won't be spending another penny and he can ram his season ticket."

22 Jan 2021 15:28:16
I suppose everyone's entitled to they're own opinion but I gave up kidding myself a long time ago I was adamant last March when the league got stopped I wasn't renewing incase we couldn't get to games then renewed before March was out.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2021 15:43:53
i will always by my tickets but i think there will be a few that won't simply because they don't think we will get back in to grounds again for the season if not half of it.

There are a number of reasons people support clubs, some others are not good reasons and should be stopped in my opinion:-

They like the way that club plays
It is their local team
Family tradition
The team they grew up with
Sectarian/ perceived political interests
They are winning at the moment

Probably loads more but if you look at Man U in Ferguson s time, supporters all over the world, why? cos they were top dog and wining
. Now ten has gone there will be a drop as a few glory grabbers drop off. The diehards stay through thick and thin.

Dan petrescu. Would be my choice. Cork Paul In current climate I I see us getting Jack Ross . I think there's going to be major downsizing. It's inevitable really Less income no fans uncertainty about what future holds. They can't or won't just throw caution to wind. I do hope I'm wrong . Ed 007. MoN played at highest level winning big cups. with Forest. There's your mindset No comparison with Howe.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've no idea what their playing career has to do with it - Klopp, Mourinho, Leonardo Jardim, AVB and many more top & successful managers never played at a high level if at all - so we should go for Roy Keane then, winning big cups and captaining the biggest football club on the planet for years.
Or why not just appoint Scott Brown if it's down to their "mindset"?}

22 Jan 2021 12:07:56
Ed007 think we seen Scott browns current mindset other night. 😀 I'm not disputing that it's not a requirement to have played at good level to b a good manager. I personally would rather have someone with proven winners mentality rather than Howe I'm a htg engineer. If I had big contract I would rather b surrounded by guys who I know can do job successfully rather than bring guys in who never been on big contract and Only worked on smaller jobs MON brought a proven winners mindset to us through winning cups with Leicester and a stellar playing career in which he showed the right mindset to achieve all he did My own choice of petrescu who is another proven winning mindset.

'Resolute Neil Lennon has every right to stand his ground. If Celtic want change it's down to Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell to make it. '

'But do you know what? I don't blame Neil for fighting on. He was a ferocious competitor as a player who never gave up. It was his greatest strength and why the Celtic support adored him. '

'So why are we expecting him to show a different characteristic now? '

'The club he's devoted nearly half his life to he doesn't want to give it up. I get that, we would all feel this way would we not? '

'When Neil walks out of the door this time it will be for the last time in an official capacity. That will hurt. '

'Whether you feel he could save it or think he is doing an awful job and it's beyond him you cannot say he is not committed to the club. '

'He'd have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of there. You can't employ a fighter who never gives up and then expect him to stop fighting and give up. '

'It's why it's not down to him. This is not a decision for Neil anymore. This is a decision for the hierarchy. This is their problematic situation to solve. It's not down to Neil. It is for those at the top. '

'Neil has made mistakes this season. Plenty of them. But if he fails it won't be for lack of effort or lack of pride. '

Can someone tell me if and I will quote lennon here"I can turn this around" well has lennon did what he said he would do, or is it still the same. If its still the same he has to go, but I read a thing about him and it says that the board are going to keep him in place till the end of the season. That's a bad call imo.

Surely in this season of PR disasters final straw will be Neil turning up at training and the Security Guard saying "sorry Mr Lennon your pass has been revoked".

I know we all want Neil Lennon out but my heart goes out to him. Neil has held this club close to his heart and what he has put up with from other fans in the years is a disgrace. He should have never been left in this position by the club. Last night after game he looked like a broken man. For his own health he or the board should make a decision.

Neil will always be a club legend in my eyes no matter what happened this season. What he achieved as a player and manager is quite remarkable. Don't get me wrong I'm not for Neil staying at the club, change is needed. If he those leave as Celtic fans let's not forget what he did for the club. He is a Celtic man and will always hold the close to his heart. He is hurting like the rest of us.

He'll always be a Celtic legend but unfortunately his time is up. It's not all his fault this season has turned out the way it has and hopefully Lawwell etc will go too. But standards have dropped since he took over and he has to take the blame for some of that.

The board should release him for his own sake.

I've no sympathy for NL, If he loves club as much as he claims, he would of stepped aside by now. Also I doubt very much he would still be here if crowds were back in stadium.

Philtim88, if the supporters were in the stadium NL and a few of the players would have gone long ago.

C.V. had contributed to several issues this season for the club which has been we publicised but it's also saved NL, PL and several first team players from the 'disapproval' of the fans - Home and Away.

JFP1888 read it mate, but hasn't changed my opinion of Lennon. He can't have it both ways, he was very critical of Mowbray when he took over from him back in 2010. Now
he is being a hypocrite. Mowbray actually has a better record than Lennon has this season.

His reputation is dwindling with the fans game by game. He is obviously getting it from all and sundry at the minute, but he does come across as arrogant to me in his interviews. The other night he took no responsibility for this season, said it was all the players that weren’t performing for some reason. He hasn’t changed or done anything different so it was the players that had changed.

Would any of you walk away from a job that pays 40-50,000 pounds a week. No way. You'd hold on, even if it was crap, waiting to get chucked out, with a nice extra pay packet. It seems Lennon prefers money over CFC. Also Duffy is one of the best defenders ever. Hope he's signed permanently.

Looking back Mally that was a massive fork in the road and what happened - nothing.

Tail end of January and all those players who wanted away in the summer are still at the club.

Not because NL has turned it around and hammered home the importance of winning the league this season, no, they've downed tools, the poor results have got poorer and NL is still coming away with the same responses in the interviews after every game.

Shambles.

I can understand why lennon wanted to stay and I don't believe it is money driven. He is mr celtic, he has given us so much, he has taken so much s@%t from everyone else and yet all he tried to do was make us better. Sadly it didn't work but not for the want of trying.
So lennon when you go you'll always be one of us and you'll always be welcome home. Hail Hail.

If Peter Lawwell and Ian Bankier are involved with regards to looking at a new manager, I bet it will be a cheap option i. e. John Kennedy. I really hope that Dermot Desmond gets involved a lot more or give the running of the club to someone who can rebuild this great club of top to bottom. Something has went wrong and not one of us will find out the full reason's.

What if DD gets involved and appoints Roy Keane? It's a possibility, as the choices are very limited this time of year.

We simply won't sell season tickets of its John Kennedy so that's a non starter. The board have a lot of making up to do to the fans.

Do you think there is going to be a major rebuilding and those in the south don’t strengthen
Confidence is good but it should be tinged with reality
Potential to lose a lot of players in the summer all needing replaced as well as a new management team
Where is the money coming from?
