Watching the Saint Ettiene - Marseille game on BT and commentator has just said Marseille have all sort of financial problems and that some of the current squad have not been paid wages owed to them, so how can they possibly offer Guidetti £11.5m, as usual the Scottish press have made up a nonsense story

Believable1 Unbelievable8

I read the newspaper report earlier, it claimed Marseille were going to pay him £60,000/week. Load of rubbish eh

Agree1 Disagree0

How many times are we going to quote anti -Celtic comments from the newspapers before an important game .

Agree1 Disagree0

It's alright mate I don't think Guidetti reads this forum hahai

Agree1 Disagree1

Why do you think Guidetti doesn't read this forum . Can he not read English . I know Deila said last year he had read Celtic forums after he came and was very unhappy with the ridiculing that he received in his early games . He was very annoyed especially as he was playing for Celtic whilst carrying an injury .

Well that was pretty good. After running the legs off Inter for periods on Thusday I was expecting a bit of a lag, to be fair we were really sharp I thought.Total control, because we are keeping the ball while getting forward slowly, and decent chances made for a very good display I thought. Very impressed with this whole pressing and retaining the ball thing, seems to be brining out the best in us.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

It's amazing how much we have improved since Deila and his fellow coaches got the week in the Sunday to improve fitness and team work . We are like a different team. Yet many people on here derided Celtic and Deila for taking the winter break .

Happy and interesting RD talk today about needing " a vocal, commanding, leader of a CH"

Think the general consensus on here is that is the next big important signing for us but can see major clearout at the end of the season without causing too much damage to the first eleven obviously outwith VVD & Denayer

A reckon just my guestimate that Wakaso / Tonev & Balde are collectively on 50k a week

Then Pukki / McGeough / Fridjohnson a can't see us next season having both Scepovic & Guidetti so factor the in the first 3 plus 1 of they 2 you must be round about the 40k a week again

Somebody please take Boerigter and you are up around about 100k a week if not in excess!

Obviously for the players we own we should try and get as much in, in transfer fees but RD has indicated he wants 21/22 squad with youth coming through also so we are still roughly there pending the CH Situ

It is about time that academy started producing more!, five players in the last FIFTEEN! years that has given us circa 50 games or more is a shocking return IMO

Just wondered everyone else take on it was?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we end up having to bring in 2 CBs I'd like us to bring in one with a lot of experience and one with potential and let the younger guy learn off the older guy and develop. I know it's easy for me to suggest that and I have no names in mind but that would be my ideal scenario. An established international CB and a good, potentially great, younger model. I know we won't throw cash around either but there is good value in the smaller European leagues and some of the African guys are just machines, total athletes.

Totally agree mate. We need a commanding Cool someone who hasn't got his eye on a mid to bottom table team in the End someone who wants to play for Celtic one of the biggest clubs in the world. Any player who wouldn't give a small portion of their crotch to play in a stadium and in front of a crowd like that obviously doesn't love football only money. We also need a proven striker but we all know are scouts couldn't pick a CF at a world class striker convention. But fingers crossed. And I'm kinda liking Bitton just now. When he first came in thought Raphael shite had came back but game time has really brought his game on. And the academy isn't producing enough first team players my bellybutton has created more fluff in the last ten minutes than the academy has created player's in the last five years. But I think RD is going the right way and as his confidence builds so will his ability to make the tough desicions.

Agree0 Disagree1

Jamiebhoy, I have no idea what wages any of the players you mentioned are on . The two loan players will be off our books at the season end if we don't want them .
The problem with the rest who have certainly disappointed since their arrival. It's debatable whether they were never any use, or they haven't worked since they signed for us, or just didn't fit in but one thing is clear it won't be easy to off- load them to any club who are prepared to pay their wages . Could be we could be paying part of their wages until their contracts with us runs out .

Agree0 Disagree0

Myles, I am not sure what part of the body you think footballers should give up to pay for Celtic . That may be true on nights like Thursday night when the atmosphere was brilliant .
Just move on 3 days to Sunday, I don't think Celtic Park atmosphere weather conditions or anything else would have excited to many to give up much .

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris, a think am in the ball park with they amounts, Load of dead wood there for sure!

A agree with you that they may be difficult to shift

But would give us a base to get some decent players in been saying for a while now would love a couple of decent Bosman's

ATVB JB7

Agree0 Disagree0

Bosman' are not necessary cheap.
It's more important that they do the job that Deila wants . I think we will have to ignore the EPL . I think Deila will concentrate on Scotland and the Scandanavia Countries .

Agree0 Disagree0

Chris a fully realise mate we ain't competing with the EPL but there is a "happy balance / better calibre " individual out there IMO

Ciani @ Lazio, Forren @ Molde, Nordvelt @ Munchengladbach, & we missed out on Mosiander @ Ajax who would have played right into your formula

Now is the time to capitalise and tap into IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

Jamiebhoy, I am sure the managers and scouts have listed many players who they hope to be able to sign and who they hope will do a good job for us . Some of the players you have listed may well be on our lists but just because a player doesn't sign for us doesn't necessarily mean we missed out . Our club may have had good reason not to sign a particular player .

I see Billy Dodds has came out and slated Sutton and McManamans comments after the Inter game. Even he can praise us which is something Sutton struggles to do for some reason he has a vendetta against Deila and his coaching which is rich coming from Sutton!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I am sure no Celtic fan will take any heed of the multimillionaire bankrupt who left Celtic because WGS wanted twice daily training sessions, which interfered with Sutton's bookie activities.

Agree3 Disagree0

I thought the world of Sutton, but has had just 1 to many digs now

Maybe the fact that he ain't rich anymore is the reason he needs to keep talkin P!$#

Agree1 Disagree0

Watched the game in a pub and could'nt hear the commentary, what was it that sutton said that has got people annoyed?

You would never have known we had played 90 mins of high temp football on Thursday.

When did we last play so well after a European game? Big week ahead with Inter & Aberdeen.

Good luck to the Bhoys and hope Zola's Cagliari can win and take out a player or two 🙊

Believable2 Unbelievable0

It's all down to the fitness of the players. RD has got them fit and they will only get fitter. We can play 2 games a week no problem.

Agree1 Disagree0

Again "fans" on here mocked and sneered at Deila and his emphasis on fitness.
We have to acknowledge how well almost all the Celtic squad took on board his fitness regime . Players won't get really fit no matter how much the coaches work them, they have to take it on board themselves and as individuals take ownership.

Easy win thought second half we was dominant and Accies couldn't get out their own half. Thought the ref had a good game too let it flow only stopped it for genuine fouls. Good for JG to be on the scoresheet again hopefully he gets a bit of confidence again. I hope Denayer ain't injured for Thursday either any news why he came off?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It was just cramp.}

Thank ED, I would have liked Izzy to be rested and play Wakaso in this LB role easy enough game for a makeshift LB and Izzy could have been fresh for Inter as he got some stick from the BT panel!

Agree1 Disagree1

Izzy is a human Dynamo, he just loves playing .
I thought big Ambrosse had a very fine game both at right back in the first half and centre back in the second . We had a team of good performers today.

Agree1 Disagree0

Brave tart, There are many reasons why Deila would have considered resting a player on Sunday between the two Inter matches . Getting stick from the B. T panel would probably come last .

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2015 16:07:31
I noticed inter aren't playing till Monday night at 8 ( on bt sports by the way ) and that they have to make one of the longest journeys in seria a as well down to cagliari . Every little bit helps 😉

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I hope its their full team too and they get pumped knock them for confidence :)

Smashing run out from the bhoys today. Thought Efe was especially competent and once again Bitton is coming on great (not a player I've fancied). going to be a long week till thursday!

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Good performance. Bitton and Johansen again excellent for me. Commons put in one of his best shifts of the season. Good to see signings and competition taking good effect.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Feb 2015 16:12:54
Efe was competent! U havin a laugh! The whole stadium panicks every time the ball goes near him! And I include the players in that! I hope denayer is fit for Thursday because if ambrose plays in the San Siro u can forget about qualifying! Agree about big biton but! A run of games has done him the world of good, and he's now become one of the 1st name on the team sheet

Agree8 Disagree7

22 Feb 2015 16:49:27
Noticed someone disagreed about ambrose! Obviously have never been to a game when he's playin! Or been to a game at all! Because if u had u wouldn't be disagreeing! The other night when he came on against inter everybody thought the same thing! And that was why is he bringin bombscare on!

Agree5 Disagree6

I disagreed. just because you have no confidence in him doesn't mean he had a bad game today.

Agree5 Disagree3

The thing is when Gordon committed his howlers on Thursday night the vast majority of fans showed why Celtic fans are the greatest in the world by singing his name and helping him through the second half. When Ambrose made his early mistakes, he didn't get the same support, only people who claim to be fans abusing him on forums and the usual small number but very noisy loud mouths who should have no right to be amongst Celtic supporters in the stands shouting out abuse . Some people wonder how Ambrose is lacking in confidence I don't think some people have far to look. Samaras got the shoite and so does Ambrose.
Ambrose played very well today.

Agree4 Disagree1

The only reason bombscare wasn't sold in January was incase a big offer came in for vvd he's rotten like the other guys say totally incompetent sooner the better he is moved on the better reminds me of oliver tebily and he was probally better and that's saying something on another note great second half performance today guidetti back on goal trail commons back from injury looking like it's gonae be a great season coybig

Agree2 Disagree1

22 Feb 2015 18:49:52
Where u there today and Thursday? Has anybody got confidence in him! He's had more than enough chances mate! He's an accident waitin to happen every time he goes on the park! Would u be confident of getting a result on Thursday with him in the team?

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Feb 2015 19:18:54
I thought Efe played ok today, however, given that accies were hardly in our half then it is easy to see why he had a relatively comfortable afternoon. The only time he was in trouble was due to his own making. And that's the problem. We need to get rid of our poorer players and I rate Efe as one of them.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Feb 2015 20:27:38
Couldn't agree more mate! Hamilton had 1 shot today if they were lucky and were barely in our half! But he doesn't even need to be put under pressure to make a mistake! He can do it all by his self! All I'm sayin is if we want the best chance to go threw then he can't be allowed anywhere near it! And the point by one poster about us getting behind big Gordon on Thursday after his mistakes and not getting behind Ambrose is utter nonsense! Gordon has one bad game in maybe 10 were as ambrose is lucky with one good game in 20!! He's had more than enough chances in the past couple of years and still keeps makin basic mistakes!

Agree1 Disagree1

Why is it when we had a full house at Celtic Park, the fans encouraged Gordon after his mistakes .

I can't remember Ambrose ever getting the same encouragement .

Could the non supporters of Ambrose explain why?

Agree0 Disagree2

22 Feb 2015 22:28:31
Because the fans on Thursday who packed out paradise,me being one of them know that we wouldn't have been playin inter if it wasn't for him! RD has sayed this to! When can u honestly remember a game when ambrose won us a game with a match winning performance in the past 2 years? If he'd had a couple of off games and I was on here havin a go then I'd be out of order but this has been 2 years now! And a 19 year old rookie is trusted more than him! He's not celtic class and never will be! I'll be shocked if he's there next season! Couple of experncied centre halfs is a priority in the next window!

Agree3 Disagree0

Ambrose was centre half when we went on the clean sheet run. And when we beat barca. He has had good games for Celtic.

I would prefer we bring in a new CH but whilst he is here il support him and if he leaves I hope he does well where he goes. You think Gordon has done more for the club than Efe? He hasn't even been here for a season. He deserves more than your complete lack of faith in him

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Feb 2015 23:07:33
And your rite Gordon has been here less than a season, but he'll go on to be one of the best bits of buisness we've ever done! Unlike ambrose! Listen like I said if I was on here havin a go after a few bad games then I would understand the argument for him but this has been the past few years! And like I've said before it's not a coincedince that since he's been out the whole team has looked so more settled! But everyone has there own opinions I suppose and that's why we're on here to share them, and everybody sees different things in a game.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Feb 2015 23:11:49
As far as I am concerned, blind faith does not exist when it comes down to players performances, or managers for that matter. Why should, it's Celtic. I sit with two mates every home game. We rarely criticise players, but today when Efe misplaced that pass in the second half, one mate said, he put a lot of thought in to that. Lol!

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah I wasn't suggesting blind faith but I would certainly prefer it over misplaced critisism.

Agree0 Disagree1

The way a small but noisy number of fans have treated Samarus and Ambrose means we don't deserved to be regarded as the. Best fans in the world . It's great that we can encourage Gordon when he erred on Thursday night . This wasn't his first mistake either, many including one of our Ed's slated him for our exit from the Champions League . Surely we should at least not abuse any of our players .

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Feb 2015 12:12:52
So marsielle want Guidetti for £11.5 million Lolol take him! He is not worth anywhere near that! You can tell he doesn't want to be here. Fair play if he can get that deal but just another showing of financial power in other leagues paying over the odds for a mediocre player. Just out of curiosity what do you recon guidetti is on at celtic? And come the summer who could we bring in to partner griffiths up front. I know the season is not over and that Duffy is on a progression program, who would you go for?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

22 Feb 2015 13:55:02
Really hoping mate that Griffiths isn't the main man up front next season aswell need to get rid of all the dead wood strikers ie stokes balde pukki scepovic guidetti will be off so would imagine we get a good stricker on loan and buy another one from English league one for about a million pound. Griffiths works hard but he's just not good enough for me or in Europe was getting pushed off the ball far to easily on Thursday whenever he had the ball probally get slated for this but definitely missed big samaras especially in the European games

Agree3 Disagree0

This story with Guidetti is nonsense. Marseilles are in no position to pay that kind of money.

Agree1 Disagree0

I like Griffiths, think he does a lot of work for the team, I would play him and Scepovic upfront to see if they can develop a partnership, if Guidetti is away to Marseille at the end of the season, good luck to him, there a good player in there somewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont really acknowledge paper talk these days. They are just stirring things. To be honest I couldn't care less what players wanted to stay or leave club. No player is bigger than the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever happened to his contract running out with City in the summer? How or why any 'journalist' is putting an £11.5m price on him is just laughable.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's just in wages I'm assuming, Jim, I haven't read the actual article.}

Oops. Still a heck of a lot!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it matters if it is in the Scottish media or not, there would be no truth in it .
