great display tonight apart from the finishing! played at a great tempo the whole game, should have been 6-7 easily..........green jhedi

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Yep easy street, never in any danger but some real shocking finishing regardless job done. Good stuff? Hail Hail
CB

Agree1 Disagree0

Kind of agree with you GJ.Thought the crossing was shocking and Commons needs to get his eye for goal back, some of his shots were mince.Win was never in doubt tho.I heard that's us beat MO'Ns record now.Well done Lenny and the Bhoys.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree2 Disagree1

Great performance. Ki completely ran the game. Result was never in doubt, although the finishing from close range could've been better (but the keeper also had a good game). However, IMO we should've just peppered Smith's goal from 30 yards out and hoped to score on the follow up.

Despite their keeper playing a blinder since his shot-stopping from close range was top notch, Mulgrew scored from 30+ yards; and his handling in truth was atrocious from long-range shots so we'd have had plenty of opportunity to get a poacher on the end of one of his saves for a simple tap-in.

Agree2 Disagree0

It was a great team performance and agree that Ki was at his best also Ledley does that guy ever play a bad game.had to laugh at the sebo chant at stokes when he missed a sitter, izzy aint fit his crossing was poor forrest looked up for it again when he came on and to top off the night i had the song i heard when walking into the ground was Jim Kerr and wee Jinky singing dirty old town.

in Rangers. If this is the case my
Virgin contract will be cancelled.

I would think bransons advisors would tell him we would all do the same...........green jhedi

They just can't seem to understand that no proper businessman will EVER p'ss away 100m+ before a ball is even kicked!

for someone to come in right now, they would need to write off around 150m, that's before even looking at buying players. then have to deal with the fact that they'll never make money because it's scottish football they're investing in

yeah, sounds like a great business opportunity lol!

Alright Ed, I've been reading for a couple of months now but never posted. I have a question and since everythings dandy at Celtic, it involves them. Am I the only one that has serious doubts over Banstead Athletic being a feeder club to Rangers? I mean I hardly expect a non-league team to be rolling out the kind of players that Rangers would be looking for. This along with the £250,000 from Whyte has me wondering what exactly is the plan is there? {Ed001's Note - I have been trying to find out what is happening there, it just seems another dodgy hidey hole to place money out of reach of creditors.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Feb 2012 19:29:38
Yep good shout with vipbox I've not been on this one b4 but it seems to be good. ed do you really think these sites will all be closed down? IMO they'll always be someone who will keep doing it ?
CB {Ed001's Note - they just like to have a crackdown every so often as it affects big business profit margins and we all know that is all that matters. All that happens is new ones are set up all over the place to take their place.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yep fair point. Is Ec007 not on tonight bud?
CB {Ed001's Note - he popped on to the editor's widget earlier to give me some stick as I was moaning about my butcher, er I mean dentist. I haven't been about much myself due to feeling sick, so I don't know if he stayed a while or just wanted to give me stick!}

At the rangers hospitality lounge Ally McCoist asked Billy McNeil, "how do you think the current rangers team would fare against the 1967 Lisbon lions?" Lubo I remember those days too,
all clubs had a boys gate, but you
tried to get a lift over from an adult
and you kept the entrance money
your ma/da gave you. I was always
tall as a kid and always had problems
getting a lift over, but you persisted
and eventually got in.
Do you remember also you could walk
from Celtic end into Jungle and even
into Rangers end, some fans changed
ends at halftime depending which
way Celtic were shooting. We were
always in the jungle and it was always
crowded during halftime with fans
walking round. Ah the dear old

Frazer Forster to get an England call up, what a load of old tosh!
The fella cant even get into the reserves at Newcastle, and if you think their coached are crap, they have produced Shay Given, Steve Harper, Tim Krul in recent years..
Also he wants to sign for Norwich in the summer.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Hum theres me thinkin we coached shay given funny that
afgandan67

Agree3 Disagree0

Total crap, given started out at celtic then went to blackburn before newcastle signed him, krul has been on loan at various clubs including falkirk and if harper was any good he would have been playing regular first team football elsewhere instead of being content at being back up all his career at newcastle where he has played probably less than 60 games since signing as a youngster.

Agree3 Disagree0

Try spelling the man's name right before having a go at him. Also, Given was at Celtic and Blackburn before Newcastle, so I don't see how they "produced" him.

In fact, we can reveal questions were asked about the legality of Whyte’s Ibrox takeover in the taxman’s petition to the Court of Session last Tuesday.

The move by HMRC, over £9million of unpaid PAYE and VAT, forced Rangers into administration.

The revenue’s petition, we believe, raises serious concerns about the takeover. And now there will be further moves to discover if there was any breach of the Companies Act, which outlaws Financial Assistance.

Basically, this means it is illegal to use a company’s shares or funds to raise money to buy that same company. It’s a crime that carries a maximum jail sentence of two years.

Ticketus are now able to claim 60per cent of Rangers’ season tickets over each of the next three seasons. As things stand, the club will be saddled with this burden at the start of every season until Ticketus are paid off.

Grier, who was with a firm called MCR at the time, also helped Whyte in his dealings with Lloyds. But even so, it wasn’t until Ticketus demanded their first payment on the £20.3million (£24.4million including VAT) deal last summer that Grier and Rangers became aware of the season ticket sell-off.

A source said the entire transaction was kept away from the club’s financial department and said staff were shocked and baffled when a bill demanding £9.5million arrived.

What a sorry state for 1 man to put a club into. If the fans had taken their heads out the sand maybe just maybe they could have stopped this. Criminal charges could be brought against Whyte and so they should be. Which Whyte will it be though. Craig Whyte 1969 Craig Thomas Whyte 1971 Craig White.

Ian(For every £1 Celtic spend Rangers will pay their creditors 10p)

Believable2 Unbelievable0

What could the fans of done , murray wanted to sell to make a slight profit supposedly 6mil and no ties to tax case thats why he sold it to whyte. we thought everything should be above board, stop telling us to get our head out the sand when we thought put trust in the people who we thought had rangers at heart. im sick of hearing head out of the sand, what trying to protect my club of negative publicity at the time, aye hindsight is a great thing, so you still think most fans of our club have head in sand, no ill speak for most of our fans we have well and truly been done over.... craig+babybear (with no sand in my hair but a truly broken heart)

Regarding this SFA probe, does anybody agree that they should be looking inward on this? Campbell Ogilvie, the top administrative SFA man, must have some questions to answer. Why last year did rangers have a euro licence granted to them? Who was in charge of the "fit and proper" persons due dilligence during whytes takeover? Ogilvie was murray's top administrator during his time at ibrox so we must assume he would have been privvy to a lot of information re debt levels.Did he smooth the takeover to help his old boss? Is this another SFA secret or is it "tim paranoia"? After Farry,Dougiegate and the Dallas e-mail fiasco, they had better be very sure they look under every rock and in every corner because we are watching them......green jhedi

Believable4 Unbelievable1

U sir are a plank, u actually sat n wrote that out why wouldnt rankers be giving a euro license last season? they werent in admin...

towniebhoy.

Agree3 Disagree4

Absolutely agree there is a a lot of questions our predictable Ger-nalists have been conveniently avoiding for some time now and there are many issues that will no doubt be for 'Blue Eyes Only' kept out of the public domain.
We all know about the history of our parent association in relation to player registration errors, referee 'mistakes' and offensive e-mails but it must also be a fare possibility that matters more sinister and devious have occurred in light of this absolute and disgracefull scandal that is gradually coming to light day by day.
I hope all the guilty parties are named and shamed but I won't hold my breath.

Oh dear Towniebhoy....I suggest you stop posting if you dont know what you're talking about.

not defending what Rangers have done but Morons like Timalloy,Lubo, and Taco should not take the moral high ground.

you lot will probably say its all lies so i will say to you what you have said about whyte if its not true he would have sued lets see if Celtic sue Leckie

bill Leckie Quote
" You can see why Neil Lennon might not be gushing with sympathy for Rangers right now. Their fans haven't made him terribly likely to raid his savings and help pay the HMRC. However, when he hints about Rangers being stripped of titles should it be proved that they cheated the treasury, you have to ask if he REALLY wants to pull that thread. You know, just incase anyone brings up the White and Kelly days when Parkhead would be absolutely crammed. Yet next day the papers would give the crowd as 22000. Makes you wonder how much was diverted away from the taxman back then ? How much it contributed to celtic's success in the 60s 70s 80s? And how they somehow ended up minutes from the gates being padlocked? Glasshouses Stones that sort of thing."

Tony D, being a civilised person, I will not respond in kind to your insults. But I
will say this, these accusations have been bandied about before, and on your own bears site in recent days these accusations were made, perhaps to hide your own club's shady, disgraceful dealings. Anyway as I asked on bears site yesterday, please PROVIDE CONCRETE EVIDENCE this took place, and also please tell me when they were charged and taken to court and FOUND GUILTY, I await with interest your proof.
I also hope the people named, seek legal advice and sue Leckie for these libellious accusations. Timalloy

Agree4 Disagree0

Ah the good old days when my da used to lift my brother and me over the gate

good to read your enjoying the banter page Tonyd

Lubo25

Agree3 Disagree0

Tony, Bill's speculation is just that...speculation. My mum was taken to see Rangers by my Grandad and she was lifted over the turnstyle every week. How many people do you know with a story like that? The crowd was always bigger than reported at Ibrox as well. Bills comments yesterday were nothing short of moronic. To suggest that Celtic winning the European cup was down to tax evasion is appalling...and i'm sure his fellow Sun writer Billy McNeil might be wanting a word with him. Why has he not mentioned Aberdeen in the 80's or Dundee United...or Rangers in the 70's for that matter..were they all cooking the books to succeed?

Agree3 Disagree0

Yeah..Jimmy johnstone etc were on a fortune. Maybe you should watch a Bhoy's Life. Denis Law went to Manchester Utd back then for a reason.

Agree1 Disagree1

I windered when this sort of P**h would start.

Weonly done it because they done it, what a lot of clap trap.

I am sure if the finacial dealings of all the proffesional football clubs in the U.K were scrutinised dating back to the time when there was just the ledger to keep accounts.
What would be found would raise more that just a few eyebrows.

The problem with the current in the news case is that in a time of technological advances in communication and accounting amoungst other things, the business people running this club in crisis CHOSE to be creative in their accountany and other dealings.

The Truth Will Out.

Lost Bhoy 50

Agree2 Disagree0

Where have you been hiding Tony ? the difference between Celtic in 1994 and the post 2000 Rangers regimes is Celtic were not spending "the tax mans" money on big name players to win trophies and European success , it is basically a form of financial "doping" cheating to gain an advantage , the Whites (how ironic) and Kelly's were raking money from Celtic for their own gain and were rightly ousted from power , i personally couldn't give a tinkers about anything Bill Leckie has to say , but you my friend have been very much in denial , Rangers are in administration (which if my memory serves me correctly you said would NEVER happen) because they have with-held tax payers money , you cant get away with that , you can play the ostrich all you want , but your club deserve everything that comes their way .

If that was true in the 80`s then how come i could pay at the gate and stand in the same place in the jungle apart from the rangers games. you think that celtic had 60,000 fans watching teams like falkirk ,motherwell and dundee in the 80`s when alot of people went through job losses, high unenployment and did not have money. i am not timalloy and i will call you the clown you are. paddy

As usual Tony is shot down and returns to hibernation , Tony your club is in serious financial trouble , it is nothing do with any other club , it is all Rangers own doing , your club have been run by arrogant devious people for years and are now paying the ultimate price , so get your head out the sand and face facts , stop trying to tar us all with the Rangers brush . so what happend to the 33million whyte had to bank role rangers with mcoist getting 5million a year for players. now hes willing to step aside. this guy is an expert on failing companies and now hes failed with rangers. i have heard strong rumors of murray international holdings launching a bid to recover mllions of pounds in loans to rangers. with the 50 million share issue murray underwrote, as far as im led to believe that was just a loan. as his company was not in great shape. no friends in bussines.

as a gogw celtic are handing back the ten points to rangers. that will still make us champions. - no devaluing our title

theres no whyte n mckay at ibrokes lol

Notice that a guy from Sale Rugby
Club is being linked with Rangers. The
horrible tackles displayed by the Rangers
players is probably better suited to
rugby. Bye bye Rangers football Club
and hello to Rangers Rugby Club.

Is it not time we all started to enjoy our own team and let that mob get on with their demise. Focus on whats happening on the park before the good football we are playing goes unnoticed.

As you all know on our Celtic site we
bhoys are all fair minded people and
I think we should be offering our
poor neighbours business opportunities
to raise some much needed funds, so
here is my humble suggestion
Why not open an OSTRICH FARM!
Please feel free to offer your own
business ideas LOL Timalloy

After all the rangers nonsense some perspective on our own club. I think Scot Brown is now becoming a great Celtic captain and has answered all critics. Saw his interview in Sun today about Charlie Mulgrew and Anthony Stokes. He's been considered a bit of a daft brush but these comments are from a real leader. He committed himself to another long contract at the club unlike many of our favourites over the years who have swallowed the adulation and then jumped ship as soon as other clubs started noticing them! He is now playing with great maturity and is the real deal as a modern midfielder far as I am concerned. Great to have a warhorse who can play a bit of football and is totally enthused about the club and team. Can't think there are many fans doubting him now.

I have always liked Brown and was for a while continually defending him. It's strange but Peter Grant was loved by the support yet even though brown is just as tough as Grant was, he's twice the player with twice the engine yet its taken a while for some to appreciate him.

I couldn't agree more. I was in a very real minority when so called fans came on lambasting Broony at the start of the season. No matter how many attempts I made to discuss the reasons for his lack of form all I got was negative comments from people who had made up their minds! Quite apart they were seriously disrespectful. I do wonder about the maturity levels of some fans when they can spout such rubbish and wonder if they in fact are watching the same football match and footballer as I am. I will say ed 007 has like me always supported Broony, and as even if he is rarely incorrect its still another gold star for him. Sopot Celt

I was critical of broony, but only because i knew there was more in his tank.he's stopped the stupid things in his game, diving in,slack passing and stupid bookings and has matured into what we thought he could be. i also think his private tragedy took more out of him than anything and is,maybie, gonna become one of the great celtic captains.a real leader of men........green jhedi

You cannot compare Brown to Grant. Despite Brown's poor performances (which were rightly justified at the time) i have yet to see him give the ball away, blame the others around him then start to point at random areas on the pitch.

Ah...Peter Grant, how i miss thee :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Why can't I compare brown to grant? It's a very good comparison in many ways..both small combative center midfielders, both Celtic captains, both Scottish internationals, both passionate individuals....and the reason I compared them was simply to point out that grant never had the same level of negativity that brown has received....its similar to the strachan thing for me....you know the stupid Celtic minded thing.. how many titles and trophys did that guy win? But hounded out by a section of the support...the same sort who have taken so long to realise how important Scott brown now is. It was a good comparison.
