I’ve just seen the Naismith foul on young Conor for Hearts second goal from a view behind the goals.
It’s been mentioned on here before but why do we have an official behind the goals on the same side as the linesman, yet no official on the other side of the posts.
If Nick Walsh was at the other side Naismith might not even attempt his foul because it would be in full view of the assistant referee.
I still think the referee or his assistant should spot the foul because Naismith had already been warned for his behaviour at corner kicks.
With goal line technology being introduced, I don’t see why they need the extra assistants behind the goals.
Especially when they don’t get involved when a foul is clearly committed.

Just an expensive useless ornament Buzz.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Dec 2020 21:24:20
Buzz just the same as the semi final against Inverness when the officials never or didn’t want to see the save of the match by the defender which probably did us out of another treble.

Unlike yesterday the official that day Alan Muir was at the same side as the handball incident and he chose not to flag up what he seen.
I say that because it was right in front of his eyes with no obstructions.

Plenty of research and evidence that proves when too many people are accountable for the same thing it’s likely that they will leave the decision to someone else and therefore nobody makes the decision.

22 Dec 2020 22:37:25
Buzz you may remember, did Alan Muir not referee a game at Motherwell just after the Semi Final and turn down a stonewall penalty for handball, only he didn’t think it was a penalty.

Mickey for Moi all day long for me. Other than that I'd agree with that starting 11. Eddy had 2 decent chances that on another day go in and he needs better service so id keep him playing for now.

Rich T why one striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2020 18:24:45
I think Lenny will go with that team Rich.
Personally I would play Barkas.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Dec 2020 21:06:05
Unfortunately I don't think he will ever start with 2 strikers, even though one-man-up has rarely worked for the last four months.
Eddy is too often isolated, or drifting all over the place and has been nowhere near his best all season; whereas Griffiths has answered the call several times and scored from the bench.
So why not give him a run to get his fitness and sharpness up?
We are in a must-win situation EVERY SPL game and maybe he should watch re-runs of last seasons formations and performances to remind him of what worked with who and why?
MJ returning gives him another attacking option - and we need all we can get to compensate for the worst Celtic defense in decades.
There are three games in a week before the New Year game and we can go there with some confidence - if we play to our strengths.
There is a possibility of another major lockdown on the horizon, so the pts deficit needs chipping away to have any chance of 10.

You know the whole of Scotland are pig sick of Celtic winning 12 trophies in a row when the tea time BBC news refused to mention Celtic winning a World Record Quadtreble.
I’m 100% certain there would’ve been coverage if Hearts had won the exciting penalty shootout.
How can our national broadcaster not even mention such an exciting see-saw final.
It’s staggering and down right bias against our club.
Their sports coverage included new managerial appointments for Ross County and Livingston.
They’ve definitely seen enough of Celtic fans celebrating and they’re not trying to hide that fact anymore. GIRUY 😂.

BB football supporters in Scotland fall into two simple categories those who are Celtic supporters and those that are anti-Celtic. We are none too popular either side of the border for that matter south of the border. Throw our heritage and manager into the the mix and you can attribute the BBC’’s (British Brainwashing Corporation) attitude to institutionalised anti-Catholicism and anti-Irishness.

During lock down I seen a poll on a football social media site and it asked who was the most hated club in Britain.
There was thousands of votes and Celtic had the most votes by a landslide.
We had 5 times the amount of 2nd place Man Utd who were miles ahead of 3rd place.
I’ve always felt it’s Celtic against everyone else and that poll just confirmed it.

BB as Ed 007 commented would you want it any other way?

Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, know that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you.

I think Madden is the best of a bad bunch followed by Nick Walsh who is 4th official.
He’s been giving a few penalties for hand balls this season and it’s something the Celtic players will need to be careful off on the day.
Overall I think it’s a good appointment.
Wullie Collum goes to Ibrox on Boxing Day and he will then referee our game against Dundee United at Celtic Park 4 days later.
I see Kevin Clancy is still not getting a look in when it comes to Sevco games.
By the time the next round of referee appointments are made, it will be 4 months since Clancy has be given a Sevco game.
It’s a disgrace that the SPFL announced they were backing Clancy’s decision not to peruse banning the Dundee United player for his tackle on Morelos.
And since then he was demoted when he only received one game in the next month and I think it was Hamilton V St. Johnstone.
It looks like they take Slippy’s complaints very seriously if we look what’s happened to Wullie Collum in the past and now Kevin Clancy.
Shocking.

22 Dec 2020 17:53:06

I just double checked there.
Clancy only received that one Premiership game in the next 2 months following the Morelos incident.
They’ve backed Beaton by not banning Naismith after his stamp on Brown.
Does that mean he might get demoted similar to Clancy?
I don’t think so.

Not singling the boy out but Taylor doesn't cut it for me. i thought he was our worst player on Sun and that's saying something laxalt for me . but think we missed a trick not getting the lad Douglas.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Dec 2020 23:02:28
Cant say I thought he did much wrong. Was critical when he was played wing back as he never is. Has laxalt really brought much more to the table? If we r looking for our worst player on sun could be Hazard Jullien or duffy before taylor. Also second half and extra time Christie was well off it. Not saying Taylor is the answer but he had a hard act to follow and was always going to be the whopping bhoy.

Lincoln Red Imps have stated the Celtic Quadruple Treble isn’t a world record because they achieved 5 Gibraltar trebles in a row in the early 2000’s.
To be fair to Celtic UEFA didn’t recognise Gibraltar football until the 2013/ 14 season when they became UEFA’s 54th Association Member.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - They only have two major trophies in Gibraltar, The Pepe Reyes Cup that they play for is the equivalent of the Community Shield in England.}

22 Dec 2020 19:21:51

So it’s official Celtic are indeed World Record Quadruple Treble Champions. 👍.

Steven Naismith will not be put forward for another retrospective ban against a Celtic player. He will receive no further action.
That’s the 3rd time in 2 and a half years Naismith has stamped on a Celtic player.
In his previous 2 assaults in 2018 he received a 2 match ban for his stamp on Scott Brown but he won his appeal against a further 2 match ban for his stamp on Johnny Hayes only 3 months later.
Our opponents on Boxing Day Hamilton have announced a player has tested positive for C. V.

Martin O'Neil has opened the can of worms now.
He got the reaction he set them up for.
Congrats to Neil and the lads great career high for Neil as a player now as a manager amazing.
It was a hard fight.

You could see what it ment at the end,
Our neighbours on the dark side keep spouting how bad we are they forget one thing out best work has been done on there watch maybe a we well done for what Celtic have done with records galore being broken. But that's touch to to ask as they know it's a record they won't ever break and won't ever be broken.
Hearts came back at us second half but the penalties at the end showed why we are champs.

What's the thoughts lads on our striker situation? Who now gets the nod up top? For me griffiths deserves the next 3/ 4/ 5 games. We've seen klimala get the nod, the boy will run all day but seldom scores, we've a £5 million ajeti who's no scored in what 3 months and up until recently got plenty opportunities, then there's our £30 million edouard, he looks half arsed to me yet every time lennon needs big big help more often than not he'll turn to griff and again more often than not griff turns up with the goal. Surely now, enough of this " not match fit nonsense " get him playing and he'll be match fit. We all know griffiths to use Lennons term " is a rogue" but by god the boy knows where the net is and right now aswell as needing to toughen up defensively, we need to start banging the goals in. For me as I say griffiths now needs to start. what yous think lads?

The problem we have is only Edouard can link up play when he play’s in the lone striker role.
To be fair our 4 strikers prefer a partner up front.
But I don’t want to go back to our disastrous 3 at the back.
I think if we keep carrying on as it stands, we have no chance of winning the league.
Lennon need a different approach similar to last January but the 3-5-2 hasn’t worked this season.
He should try a 4-4-2 and pray it works and gets our season started.
One thing is for sure he needs to take a gamble on a different formation and we clearly need 2 strikers to be playing every game.

Agree4 Disagree0

22 Dec 2020 10:50:47
All our strikers are capable of scoring if given the right support and service. If we continue with a lone front man snuffed out by eight defenders, is it any wonder they get frustrated and fed up flogging the same dead horse!
Michael Stewart nailed it before Sunday’s game, we don’t get to the by line anywhere near often enough and when we don’t, we just run into a crowded 18 yard box. On the odd occasions when we kept wide and got in behind their fullbacks stuff happens. We definitely have the players, just not a management team who can deploy them correctly. We also need a bit of animation and emotion from the sidelines. Always remember MON and his team constantly encouraging and geeing up throughout games. The sight of Lennon slumped in a chair like smivvy out the bash street kids doesn’t exactly spread emotional enthusiasm.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2020 10:57:55
BB-4-4-2 Taylor at fullback I don’t understand the criticism he gets at least first and foremost he can defend irrespective of other weaknesses and we need to stop shipping goals. We don’t have a loan striker at the club so it got to be Eddy if he can get his ar$e in gear and Griffiths or A. N. Other up front beside him. As I said we need to stop losing goals and stop Eddy needing to drop too deep. The solution seems fairly self evident I don’t know for the life of me why Neil doesn’t try it.

22 Dec 2020 13:40:39
You don't need to play a 442 to get 2 up front. what's wrong with 433 can play many permutations of this. 2 strikers with christie for eg. Or 2 with a winger or 1 with 2 CAMS. So many choices depending on oppponent.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2020 13:57:51
The only person who doesn't see it, is Lennon for some reason?
Surely when he acquired a fourth striker in the last window - even assuming he didn't fancy Klimala - he must have thought to permutate any pair from Griff, Eddy, Ajeti and MOI, but he persists with one isolated striker to accommodate a system that is very hit-and-miss.
Now Mikey Johnston is fit, there is no excuse, not to play 4-4-2 and he must also wise-up to making appropriate substitutions as-and-when and not wait 65-70 mins, or until we are desperately chasing a game.

Carragher went from supporting Everton to hating them and becoming a Red. It’s no surprise he has went from Celtic to Rangers when he has no real affinity with either.
Not sure why he’s getting berated for stating the obvious that Sevco are big favourites for the league.
That’s not to say they won’t bottle it or we won’t hit a bit of form and go on a run but he would look more stupid if he said we will win league in current position.
Sunday was another paper over cracks performance conceding 2 and drawing in 90 mins and another conceded in ET.
Fact is we are nowhere near good enough at this moment and it’s only a change in Management team that can save our season IMO, hopefully we get a lift from new voice in dressing room and we can at least start to apply pressure in 2nd half of season.
If we let Lennon waste more cash in transfer window aswell as losing value of our top stars this season it could take years to recover.
