I don't think we where terrible tonight not good enough but the game was never in doubt the passing was OK movement OK man for man OK the shooting and crossing where disgusting though. there whole team especially defence and goal keeper where brilliant all that matters is we are through.

Goal keeper was brilliant?
I must have been watching a different game.
Guy was a bag of nerves.

Gordon lucky not to be sent off poor decision making punched one in first half a could have caught that apart result was never in doubt.

Read the post, he is talking about Alloa.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 22:34:28
Yes Alloa goalie was excellent, as were the whole Alloa team who were a credit to their division, but and it is a big but Brendan changed things unlike his predecessor and it brought us a deserved victory . Not too worried about missing chances, at least we are creating them and on another day that could have been 6or 7 . In Brendan we trust HH.

So he was kev T
My apologies gordo87.

Shots to goals ratio was pathetic but we're through and that's the main thing in the end. Fancy us more for a treble than I have for the last few seasons.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 08:25:48
my only worry now is that we will be a little predictable.

dodgy goalkeeper (s)
Lustig/ 2 outa 3/ kt
JF or PR / broon/ 1 outta 3/ SS
dembele or griff

they lined up last night to play against what they thought we would do and 1) they were well prepared and fitter than expected and 2) we all had our bits on the wrang feet.

we don't have someone from midfield who is different - a naka/ dare I say commons - who can drift out the set up and do something different - unpredictable.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 10:04:15
I think Roguc can do that a bit digi. Not comparing him to Naka just yet but he picks up some good positions. His shooting last night was similar to Commons' though. He had a frustrating game.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 10:21:52
We can over exaggerate things after games like last night. We dominated the game as we should have, had sooooo many chances it was unbelievable but just didn't take them, another night we could have had six or seven. I suppose the only slight concern is that we also should have scored more against ICT as well. Still think we need to get more from Dembele, scored last night yes but didn't do much else and thought he was poor against ICT.

Looking forward to having griff back in the team, he can create his own chances and I have more confidence in him burying them as well.

Gordon should have been off. He looked like he was trying to do the sweeper role that BR wants but he can't do it. He did two things - karate kick Greig Spence and attempt to pass the ball toLustig in the 2nd half but hit it out the park. GK is weakest part of the team imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 10:37:09
At the end of the day we're through and scored two well worked goals, even though we weren't at our best, here's hoping we get sevco again and show them that whatever crap their manager says that there is a huge gulf between the teams.

Agree5 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 21:44:40
Made hard work of that tonight but we got there in the end.
A few postives
Big jozo getting some game time and looked quite comfy.
Armstrong and brown look like they could develop into a good partnership
Young Christie made a very good impact and lifted the energy levels when introduced and what a spot to see the run fae forrest
Forrest continuing his good form.
Job done next!

Did you see the BR interview? Getting questioned about Craig Gordon tackle. Obviously not a happy manager. If Craig had any chance of getting the gloves back its gone again.

21 Sep 2016 22:01:58
I'd have subbed him the second the ref only flashed a yellow.
He's a goalie and gets booked all the time.

21 Sep 2016 21:18:40
This is shocking! Delivery from corners, shooting, decision making, the list go's on! Credit to Alloa, defending well but we are muck tonight.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Honking mate, absolutely honking. But if we go on and win the LC tonight will be forgotten about.}

21 Sep 2016 21:55:55
Thought we where a wee bit slow. rogic and a few others left there boots at home. but thought they played heart out and the goalie was good. don't mind giving a bit of credit but bigger games to come and more match time for certain players so would rather be positive than focus on anything negative.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 09:54:49
I'd have fancied a few 30 yarders myself with the amount of chances created. Least we got the win and 2 decent goals along with it.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Sep 2016 17:53:16
I don't know about 30 yarders but I think we tried quite a few from well outside the box and they sailed high and wide and not handsome .

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 20:31:40
Typical Gordon! Lucky not get a red! . but he is the better keeper right? . cause he is Scottish is that why?

Des is the better keeper cause Gordon when not gifting the other club goals he is running out of his net to play the ball he has no need for!

Believable4 Unbelievable4

21 Sep 2016 20:45:33
Gordon doesn't catch anything
Poor distribution
Poor positioning
Pushes out shots into danger areas

I was looking forward to seeing how he responded tonight but once again he looks vulnerable.

Does anyone have an honest opinion on Bally or Fasan
I've not seen much.

To early on de vries for me, but if Brendan sticks with him we will need plenty of patience.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Sep 2016 20:52:15
He looks terrified. He panicked and came for a ball he had no need to come for. Under pressure to impress. Also what has happened to Roberts? No where near the player that came to us last year.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 20:54:10
He was lucky but what has where he's from got to do with anything.

Agree0 Disagree3

21 Sep 2016 21:33:24
Just trying to wonder if him being Scottish is why people say he is better cause Des is clearly the better keeper even after only 4 or 5 games compared to CG 3 years.

Gordon again blames someone else for his mistake when he kicked it out of bounce with a poor kick! He can never say he was at fault and admit mistakes!

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Sep 2016 21:41:16
Obviously seen a lot more than Gordon than De Vries, but I am not keen on either of them as I think they both bring their share of problems to the side and the back four need a better, solid, more confident keeper to unify and cement a decent defensive unit.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Sep 2016 21:55:45
Gordon had another shocker and looks scared on the pitch.
Pushing the ball out into play
Punching easy catches
Coming for balls outside the box when other players have it covered.
I would go with new guy till January.

Agree1 Disagree2

21 Sep 2016 23:05:00
I think we really need a good solid no 1 at Christmas . Neither keeper looks any good to me, de vries hasn't made a save since he's been in, Gordon won't come off his line at a corner yet comes out into no mans land for crazy challenges . In all honesty he's been poor for the last two seasons . Apart from his first season when he had done ok, he's been shocking since. Both keepers make our fragile defence even more nervous, they haven't a clue what either keeper will do. Oh for the days of a Forster or Arthur again.!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think you can beat Kirsty MacColl and The Pogues although I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday by Slade always gets a party going at Christmas. Sorry ;-)

21 Sep 2016 14:56:31
What's everyone's team for tonight? I'd like to see a balance of experience and fringe players get a game, can't be complacent but also have more important games around the corner.

De Vries (any mistakes here and it's got to be time on the bench)

Gamboa Jozo Erik Izzy
Brown Armstrong
Forrest Rogic Sinclair
Dembele

All going well, get brown, rogic and jozo off with time to spare and get Henderson, oconnell and Christie on.

Gordon
Gamboa
Jozo
Tierney
Shevvy
Christie
Henderson
Armstrong
Rogic
Miller
Dembele.

21 Sep 2016 16:14:51
Pretty much as and why you say, but I think we'll start with Toure and Jozo. All going well swap Kolo for O'Connell. I'd like to see Ajer feature and probably Christie also.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 16:42:53
Think we'll definitely play Sinclair DRB. Miller is a shout, I know you keep a keen eye on the youths and rave about him (yes)

21 Sep 2016 17:21:39
If you are Craig Gordon, dumped from first team, watching devries, and you don't even get picked for the betfred cup - I'd be in training tomorrow picking a fight with everyone then on twitter then talk radio engineering myself a way out asap.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Sep 2016 17:36:11
Think he's the most consistant of the youth's jim. if we don't play them in these games when do they get a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 17:41:19
Fasan
Ralston Simonovic O'connell Isaguirre
Forrest Henderson MacCart/ Rogic Christie
Armstrong
Dembele
I know this will not happen but would love to see Fasan play Simonvic and O'Connell together, MacCart in midfield i know this is off the wall he is strong and powerful a good passer could be an answer for champions league if not let's see if Rogic can run the midfield.

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Sep 2016 18:18:13
Fasan

Gamboa jozo o'Connell tierney

Roberts armstrong mcgregor sinclair

Christie

Dembele

Would like to see this but unlikely. Hopefully tho. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 18:36:31
I can't see mc cart making it with us. He isn't good enough.
He is a good player but not good enough fir the team I want.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 18:53:30
I M O there is no chance of seeing either Fasan or Ager playing in this game . I am sure B R hasn't settled between either of his first team goalies so to me he isn't going to waste time bringing a third in for this match .
Ager isn't amongst our top 18 players so he isn't likely to jump in ahead of Henderson, Armstrong Christie and others to give him a game . Brendan seems to have decided that he isn't first team material just yet . Maybe in future, maybe never.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Sep 2016 18:54:03
Personally DRB, although teams like Alloa are inferior opposition to what we face week in, I'd bed players in during domestic games. We can afford the risk. We can win the league playing several youngsters, experimenting etc from time to time. The cups though, I wouldn't throw so much caution to the wind.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Sep 2016 23:31:03
Gordon

Bbc are reporting a 27 year old male has been arrested in relation to the hanging effigies at the celtic v sevco game.

I can only presume the arrests for vandalism of the toilets is just around the corner 🤔.

Perhaps the police should have a look at the picture of the blow up dolls being strung up at a Rangers demo to track those individuals aswell🤔.
