Delighted with the result today, was a bit worried about this one but as we've being doing now for the last 18 months we get the result. Astonishing we've now gone 60 games unbeaten with only around 6 draws. If we get a result on Wednesday I can see us going undefeated again this season which surely has never been done before anywhere. With the Mousse lòoking like he's about to hit top form again the double treble is on 😁😁.

A decent display today from Celtic who had some tired looking players out there so I am not going to complain about the quality of passing from some of our players, we got the victory DESPITE the usual "honest mistake", DESPITE the "impartial" computer guy scheduling our league cup semi a full 24 hours earlier, but said "impartial" computer guy must now be beeling as Celtic now have at least ONE extra day to rest and recover before another tough away game on Wednesday, sadly "impartial" computer guy could only give Aberdeen TEN DAYS rest.

we're not talking about biton at cb so must have done okay today.

and lustig scoring - twice!

Looked like a good game "for the neutrals"

Need to be a bit tighter on Wednesday I recon.

With spl teams getting Β£375k just for being in the same league as us, I recon they should let us pick our own fixtures - for the good of the game.

Bitton was a fault for there 2nd goal, should have stepped up and played offside and he didn't even notice the boy. but again this what happens when u play a centre midfielder at centre half! There can't be many teams who constantly chop and change so many positions! We need a settled team asap! But on the other hand it's massive credit to the players that they still keep winning and always finding away to get the job done! Would just love to see a settled team, especially the back 4! On a side note did anyone hear the clown that is kris Boyd questioning big jozos bottle going into big games! Said he's scared to get shown up if he's less than 100% fit! He can only play against Dundee and the like! And here's me thinking I was positive I watched the big man stroll through the anderlecht game and played with the pipe in and slippers on at the crumble dome! This was the same kris Boyd who's own mangers couldn't trust him going into big games because his arse collapsed every time! How this bellend gets a platform to spout Shoite from I'll never know!

Mally the guys a half wit! It's the fact what he spouts is total lies! He said he can only play against Dundee but he wasn't in the team for the recent game against them, then he said he can't play in the big games but he strolled it in anderlecht and like u said played against psg! And I know It's not exactly a tough game but he strolled it over at the asbestos dome! It's total nonsense with not even an attempt at dealing in facts!

The great thing about this current Celtic team is that it has now won 60 domestic games in a row despite having a manager that some of our fans thinks doesn't know the basics of team selection . Surely someone should tell B R that u can't pick a midfield player and play him as centre back and also Brendan you must not change personnel from game to game .
I know B R is a quick learner and is always studying the best managers to see how he can improve but maybe that is where he is going wrong, he should read the posts here and he would within months have Celtic invincible . Sorry I forgot B R has already had us invincible .
Maybe he does know what he is doing.

Spot on Lh - Boyd is a total bell.

On a different note, I cannot believe that Griffiths is getting stick for his performance from some Celtic fans - give the man a break - he's been outstanding for us!

Delighted with the result. Really hoping Motherwell stuff them tomorrow.

Yet again, dirty cheating officials do all they can to derail us. They know their beloved sevco have no chance against us in the final, if that pile of shite team even make it.

I hope Well do them obviously, preventing them making any more money.

Job done yesterday and now we can look forward to parting the Sheep's baws on Wednesday.

If Sevco make the final we will be swamped with honest mistakes galore. Cheating is in their DNA and they don't even mind winning by cheating.

Part of me wants them to make the final so we can smash them into a red white and blue jam.

Sorry, (OP) I hate to hear the "tired after a hard midweek game. " C'mon, these are professonal footballers and that is their only job. They are well looked after and well paid for what they do.
Try doing manual labouring (rigs was mine) 12 hour shifts where sometimes it's basically non-stop THEN tell me that is a tired person.
I won't labour the point as I have made my feelings known on here many times in the past but Tired wee things. naw.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - To be fair using terms like "tired after a hard midweek game" etc doesn't mean the players are knackered and a nice wee lie-in spooning the wife's big hot ass will sort them out. It's more to do with things like mental tiredness and muscle fatigue and the body needing to replenish levels of fluids etc and is all worked out by the sports science department to help keeping players at their individual peak as much as possible between games. Players who's bodies need longer to recover are more prone to niggling injuries if they play when they aren't pushing their peak conditioning.
The reason we never heard about stuff like players being tired etc in the 80s and 90s is because sports science was still in it's infancy.
There'll be a reason LG tucked into a tea cake on the bench, probably to get his sugar levels back up as quickly as possible, other players eat things like bananas to get their potassium levels back up and most players get as much fluids into them as possible during matches, it's all to do with sports science and keeping players at their peak both physically and mentally. Your brain slows down if you are dehydrated, hence the constant intake of fluid during games.
So the next time you read that players are tired, just forget that and read it as the players are facing a heavy schedule and need to push themselves that wee bit harder to remain in tip top condition because there isn't enough time to do any gentler conditioning training (or proper coaching)with the games are coming thick and fast.
The players will be off today, in tomorrow for some light training, Tuesday will be working on the Aberdeen game and Wednesday it's light training if any before heading to Pittodrie, compare that schedule to what would happen if we had a week off between the games, we'd be arriving at Pittodrie near enough at our peak fitness and conditioning wise.}

22 Oct 2017 12:36:06
It was an all too familiar and predictable 'honest mistake' that unfortunately has cheated and penalised Celtic in a good few Hamden semi finals. Previous teams have lost out to these incidents but under BR and the current talent at his disposal - we can handle the twelfth man nowadays.

23 Oct 2017 01:33:23
I don't see any more reason for criticising C G for making a mistake that eventually led to a goal that others could have prevented .
Dembele missed a relatively easy chance on Sat to score and I am not going to blame him or call for him to be dropped .
We have. Humans playing for us and the team as a whole are not among the best in the world . I am quite happy that most of the time they all do a fairly evenly matched decent job for us that has got us 60 domestic wins in a row . This achievement is not easy to wi and all the players &ateam management deserve great credit and praise from good fans.

Had a wee pop at Gamboa and Ntcham midweek and feel kinda bad about that it's not really the Faithfull through and through celtic ethos . but I must say big Craig Gordon's jacket must be on a shortly peg. Now I I believe he is a fantastic shot stopper but a tad vulnerable at Cross balls. Also the modern goalie has to be almost Franco Baresi like which the big man isn't. Goalies are employed to save the ball with there hands but his place must be in jeopardy. any thoughts boys.

I doubt very much if C G is on a shortly peg, even though I don't know what you mean by shortly peg .
CG is doing a very good job at saving shots which is his number one priority. We don't know what his role is for crosses, the goal keeping coach may prefer the crosses from set pieces to be dealt with by defenders, or maybe by Gordon we just don't know .
His clearances have improved somewhat from the start of last season, but opponents can pressurise high up the park and make things v difficult for the keeper .
If Dembele has a wee run in the team, he will give Gordon a better target further up field and so maybe he can mix it up playing short or going long .
I noticed the brilliant Manchester Utd didn't handle a long ball from opposing keeper today.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2017 02:07:20
Chris he cost us a goal on wed night and against hibs he gave the ball away by miskicking 3 or 4 times better teams would have punished us. regardless whether we have a big centre or not if a pass ain't on he should be clearing his lines a can imagine O'Neil putting up with the mistakes he's making with the ball at his feet.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2017 09:16:58
Lol. shortly peg . predictive text Old man Chris . should have read shoogly ( shakey ) . keepers passing about the back terrifies me. Gone are the days when your Packie Bonnars would score Scottish cup goals at Berwick with a good old fashioned hump up the park.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2017 12:43:34
If shot stopping was his only job he'd be safe, however his distribution and erratic kicking is causing us problems and how many times do we see him standing static at corners watching balls roll past him because his positioning, organising and reactions are not good enough?
He has also been partial to rushes of blood and charging into forwards and mistiming challenges. Apart from that he's OK.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I've reeled in my criticism of Gordon this year simply because there's nothing more to say and no point arguing the same points over and over again. Craig Gordon is a great shot stopper but he's a poor 'keeper in the modern sense of the game where the 'keeper has a lot more to do.
He's too good to be a No.2 at Celtic but he's good enough to be a No.1 at another SPFL club or even an English Championship one but I don't think his wife would fancy that.}

22 Oct 2017 13:58:12
what about his bird ed :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's still got a young family to think of as well.}

23 Oct 2017 01:43:31
Ok he made a mistake and a goal eventually was scored big deal. LG and P R didn't score or create anything, on either Wednesday night or Saturday, should we drop both of them .
On Saturday's Lustig's man was running 100 yds with the ball Lustig couldn't keep up with him, should we have taken Lustig off or did B R do the right thing and leave Lustig on to score two first half goals.
We play a team game, sometimes a player might be a we bit off his game and his team mates cover up for him and give him a wee hand . Other times players like Gordon pull off a string of saves, covering up for defenders .
Players arn't robots and we are not yet at the standard that our whole team will play well enough to beat the super teams.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

21 Oct 2017 20:18:48
It was great to see him back - and scoring again as he has missed far too much football recently.
I think he should start at pittodrie as LG has given his all for club and country this season and could do with a break. KT and Sinky are also looking a bit tired and although we don't have Izzy anymore maybe McGregor, Hayes or Miller could cover? Anyway hopefully the players can all enjoy a well earned break for a couple of days before the trip to the mutton molesters.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Oct 2017 21:36:19
Moussa did what he always does. Score. don't think he is 100% sharp yet but that needs game time. wouldn't start Hayes. He has had a poor start. You could play Forrest on right and paddy on left to give Sinky a break but that may need to wait till next sat because wednesday is going to be a very hard shift. With Mousa back its a big help but Aberdeen are tough and will have had 10 days off.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2017 11:36:47
I can't believe Hayes is getting mentioned as a possibility. Him and Ntcham should be nowhere near the team. Rogic, Mcgreggor, Forrest and Armstrong are miles better and should be in well in front of those two.

Well done to the Bhoys today. There is a number of players not firing on all cylinders. But credit for getting the job done.

KT looks tired but we can't rest him for Wed as he's too important.

Sinclair is struggling at the moment but no doubt will come good.

Armstrong still a wee bit to go to get up to the standard he set last season.

At the end of the day we're still winning domestically and once they all get up to pace we will give a few Teams a doing.
Good couple of days rest then roll on Wednesday to shut that wee s**t bag Logan right up.

But what an embarrassment to Scottish football. these teams live off our success and can't even be arsed to make a semi final the showpiece it should be. As much as I hate the sfa (bastards but that's another story ) they should make hibs pay for the unused allocation the amount of bhoys who missed out on tickets and could've helped the atmosphere is unreal. I'd more than happy advocate for school kids getting in free but not that empty hole behind there goal. Shame on u hibs if that were the cup final it would've been packed.

Delighted to win that game and score four during a very difficult schedule fo Celtic.
Huge credit to the team who are clearly not at their best, but time and time again dig in and produce the goods when it matters.
No doubt the international breaks and CL are taking their toll, but I also believe that we are caught-up in marathon season that stretches back to July 2016 thanks to this amazing run - which must be pressurising.
This month was always going to be a huge test with involvement in three objectives, but I can't praise the players and manager enough for their efforts and commitment against all odds and honest mistakes.

Give the big man a break. he's a keeper not an outfield player who can spray passes about. Aye he's jailbait at times so was boyata. Guy keeps us in games and saved us points. De vries kick outs against dundee where just as as bad he was punting it up to no one. Did rodgers not sign him for his passing ability as well as his keeper skills?

Gordon

Lustig Biton Boyata KT

Armstrong Broony

Forrest Rogic Sinclair

Demebele.

Biton on because he will take a pass, especially from Gordon with little fuss. Forrest because he looked sharp in Munich and Dembele because Griff was poor in midweek.
I know lack of service was an issue but some of his jumps with defenders were kid on, as if he knew he was never winning it.

For me Rogic could be the key. Armstrong and broony will free him up to get us on the front foot, plus there's a goal in the big man.

Time to step up. Even given a ridiculous run of fixtures, every team we play seems to have a feckn week off before us, i think we can do it. Or go down fighting, that's all we ask.

@ Marty. i don't disagree with your earlier post . problem is though the spl is shite
And we should be dominating it giving our resources in Scottish terms . yes we can't compete against the big money teams (just like the spl against us ) . we won't imo see a true gauge of where we are euro wise until we get into the Europa and see how we fare at that level. but in the position we are are we should be buying players of a standard for Europe not buying squad players and hopefulls for a league we are almost untouchable in.
