If we could sign makay steaven now for the SPL so Sammy can concentrate on the cl next season I'd be happy Sammy is epic but we all know he can't be arsed in an spl game haha, loyal player though I hope he retires with us

Darrenbhoy

In the SPL I would rather give our own youth the chance the play rather than pay money for MacKay-Steven. There's no doubt he's a wee trickster with the ball and has potential but he deserves regular football, it would be a waste to see him warming our bench. ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Mrs E. I did fancy Russell but GMS still seems like your archetypal winger who blows hot and cold. I would hope the boy George steps it up this season as from all reports he is a bit special. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he would be warming the bench. If we had him then he would get a game. We don't have anyone comparable to him in our set up. Giving youth a chance is all well and good but when you have an area of weakness then sometimes it makes sense to bring in someone with proven talent.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic played against those boys and crushed them last year so our existing lads are better.
Those lads are better than the rest but not better than our boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

I had actualy forgotten about george good shout gj. also izzy can play there aswell so maybe just a left back then, but we all know its a difficult position, I think we shoulda signed that barry douglas (think that's his name) but i'm sure lenny have have his eye on someone

darrenbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he would get A game ChrisBhoy but just not sure how many that's all. I think he should be at a Club where his name is one of the first on the team sheet and I just don't think that would be Celtic.

I also like Stuart Armstrong at Dundee Utd and he is showing real potential as well. I remember watching him with Scotland U21's with James Forrest and Jordan Rhodes, i'm sure the opposition was Holland and it was right good football the Scotland were playing. ~ Mrs E

I hope we don't replace wanyama tbh, I'd love to see kayal back in the team, I think this could be his chance to shine for us, I genuinely believe that bhoys got what it takes to be a Celtic great. Just needs confidence, plus that 10 mill could be put right into our scouting system so we can find another 10 wanayama, future is bright if your a Celtic fan anyway lol

Darrenbhoy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Kayal has not kicked a ball for us since he signed his new contract, personally I would try and move him on. I don't see anything I like when I see him play now, no control on ball, second touch is normally a tackle = yellow card. IanL

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Kayal had a mini crisis last season. He seemed to have lost confidence, maybe realising Big Vic and Joe Deadly were ahead of him. With luck he will step up and get back to his early form which for me was very promising.Be interesting to see what Lenny decides. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Kayal just needs more games to get back to his best i'd be happy with the cms we've got if Wanyama goes. mark

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he lost it after the injury and has never fancied a tackle since then.
I do think he is very skill-full and had shown great potential, but he lacks heart and bottle and this makes him prone to injuries.

Think we could set a new record this year lads, we could very possibly field a team with every player being a different nationality, here's my best multi national team. Zaluska Poland
Izzi Honduras
Van Dijk Holland
Ambrose Nigeria
Lustig Sweden
Ledley Wales
Brown Scotland
Wanyama Kenya
Samaras Greece
Amido Portugal
Hooper England

Subs. Rogne Norway
Kayal Israel
Rogic USA
McCourt N.I
Stokes R.O.I
Twardzik Czech Rep

In the stand. Miku Venezuella
Lassad Tunisia
Bangura Sierra Leonne

Everyone a different nationality, we must have the most different nationalities of any squad in world football, maybe you could confirm this ed. cheers. Stevie

Agree0 Disagree0

Prefer all scots, why have youths when they don't get a sniff?wf

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem with scots playing in the spl is no one will pay 10-15 million for them. All this with wanyama I can see happening all over again with rogic. well researched post stevie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but 10 out of 11 starters in my best team would be british players, forster, matthews, wilson, mulgrew, izzy, forrest, brown, ledley, commons, stokes, watt. never put the new lads in or vic and hooper as don't think they will be here next season. bhoywonder {Ed007's Note -

As a Southampton fan I think that you guys saying that we are to small of a club for Waynama and that he's "too good" for Southampton, I think its a bit of a joke? We could of had Europa League this season too if we chose to, but we decided to turn it down through the Uefa fair play league.

If we do sign Waynama, I don't know much about him but he has many quality attributes at such a young age and hopefully he will sign for Southampton in the coming days and so on. If you do recieve Billy Sharp as part of a player exchange he would suit Scottish football so well. He is a quality goal getting striker who scored so many goals for us on our way to the Premier League.

I wish you guys could give us some respect. We have so much respect for Celtic even though you believe were just a small premier league team but good luck on the deal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree man, we Celtic fans hate being called a small team, we really shouldn't do it to other teams. Big Vic could do worse than southampton guys, they are an aspiring team om the epl with plenty of financial clout now.

Good luck next year buddy, maybe see you in the champions league at some point. I'd Love to see broonie up against wanyama!

Darrenbhoy

21 Jun 2013 21:56:46
look southampton fan, in all due respect you are a small premier league team. The problem with us celtic fans is that we had higher expectations for victor it would have softened the blow if he had of went to a big european team or even one of the top 4 english sides, I know the deal isn't done yet but all the smoke signals is coming from your lot. I just hope we get a decent fee for the boy 10m is joke in my eyes club should stick it out and wait untill atleast after the qualifiers, if you do get him with a heavy heart ill wish him and your club all the best and watch with pride as he swallows up the premier league. ps hope there's a decent sell on clause in this for us aswell. Belfast bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

My experiences with Southampton fans have mostly been very disrespectful. Saying if we played in England we'd be a league one team, think all our players are rubbish because they play in the spl, people like zaha 15 million no problem proven at championship level and slate us when we say wanyama is worth 15 million easy, you don't respect us because our league but you don't see that fact Scotland's population is 5.2 million, such a small country we punch so far above out weight it's unbelievable. If celtic were in premier league and got crazy money like you all get we are a giant team, shareholders could invest heavily and we would be going for top 4 at least, and if we were in England, we'd be a very attractive team for a billion aire family to buy lol 10 plus million active fans worldwide but you play with the hand you're dealt with we're keeping scottish football alive. I'd like to see Southampton get through against benfica and spartak with a squad assembled for 18 million playing against teams with squads assembled for 100 million. But nah, people never bring up the celtic positives eh? But I do like Southampton you play good football but you've never tasted the success celtic have yet you treat us like a small club, you won't get respect till it's shown back mate that's just the way it works. Gandalf the green.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually quite like Southampton. Liverpool are my favoured EPL team but I like Southampton and some of the players you have had through the years. There's a few teams who have potential to be regular top 8 finishers and I think in a year or 2 Southampton will be there, especially if the owner continues to back you in the transfer market. However on a global scale Southampton are not a patch on Celtic. The only thing holding us back is the joke of a league that we play in and the persons running it. Good luck to big Vic if he does join you. I'm not the kind of guy who jumps on the bandwagon of young players leaving Scotland to become stars, McGeady, Gordon etc but this boy is going straight to the top.He did a good professional job for us and will fund 2 or 3 quality signings in the future if he goes.

I'm very impressed by how quickly and professionally we have gone about our business so far this summer. It's not even July yet and we have filled the 2 weakest areas of the team, centre back and target man. Ed do you think we will sign anyone else before our first qualifier?

We really need a left back. A vital area as izzy has been awful positionally and going forward not that effective. Not the player he once was. Maybe this season he will bounce back but has been at fault for a lot of goals and seen as a week link for diagonal balls at home and in Europe by every manager.

No chance ambrose will replace Big vic no wear near the quality of Wanyama wee need a straight replacement

Samson {Ed007's Note - I don't know much about Everton but LFC have been trying to get rid Glen Johnson for the last two summers, his £100k+ a week wages and other aspects of his contract causing problems. I know during Dalgish's last waste of time pretending he was a manager they had a very strong interest in Adam Matthews. I will try and find out a bit more info for you when I get home, Samson.}

Another great bit of business by the club landing another target in big virgil. Genuinly think the guy wull be awesome.
Now to just land an attacking midfielder who wil get the crowd of their seats. Gary makay steven imo.
So who is the guy to replace wantaway no ambition if he joins hull or reading gary hooper. Adam le fondre is the chap for me and after a couple of great cheap signings I would hope the board pushed the boat out to replace hooper

Too much season left at the end of your money?
Need that little bit extra to pay that players, staff or just to eat?
then why not give "tickets please" a call?
you see we specialise in football teams in Scotland who hope that season tickets sales will come flooding in only to see them trickle in while the fans go on stupid things like :
a family holiday, pay bills, pay the kids boarding school fee's etc! or eat! rather than buy a ticket!

"tickets please "is a cross between "ticketus" & "quid please" when no one else can help while your left waiting for the next seasons fixture list to arrive, try us even if you've been told to "gtf" from the banks, "tickets please" will almost certainly say yes, as we lend money against money, that might just never arrive, but hey that's OUR PROBLEM!
What's the worst that could happen?
borrow from us today quoting discount code"PROVVY"
(thats PROVVY not proddy )
if you, re a first time borrower from us then you can borrow up to 80% of your dreamland future season ticket sales, just think of a figure then double it!
so go on "pick up the fone & talk to one of our friendly advisors, fighting drug or alcohol abuse now, if you can make out what they are saying then you could be looking at money in your accoont the day?remembering to kwote:
promo coad "PROVVY" for a speshul wan aff disco!"
"tickets please", when your out on your feet or out on the street! give us a call & we'll make it sweet!"

legal disclamer, borrowin money aginst future ticket sales can be risky & your stadium, staff, car perks, nets, balls, groonsmin, and hoat dogs can be at risk in the event we repo you mugs.
tickets please is a subsiduary of "wee pats finance thru money landerin. plc (tm) registerd at companies hoose (jist doon the hill fae the sheriff )

I seen on here over the past few weeks about the flights to Dublin for the Celtic v Liverpool game.

If you can go from Edinburgh, the flights are cheaper and I paid just over £190 for 2 return flights with Ryanair going early Saturday morning and returning early Sunday morning (no hangover will be wanted)

I see the game itself is now sold-out ~ Mrs E

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mrs. e, not doubting you, the problem with ryan air and aer lingus is they change their prices to suit demand . when I looked a fortnight ago, I considered 1, 2 and 3 day trips and I can assure you, taking the cheapest flights in every combination at all times of the day . from edinburgh I couldn't get anything cheaper than £350/£370 return for two .
maybe the flights are cheaper now that the likes of me said no, no thanks . i'm glad I bought two season tickets instead . the game will be on liverpool tv anyway, and that's free on virgin .

don't get me wrong, i'd love to be going to my favourite city, I went the last time and it was a fantastic weekend , enjoy your trip mrs . e . shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

My flights are both early morning so not the best but we will get to spend most of Saturday in Dublin. The flights did shoot away up in price when the game was announced.

Cheers Shammy, i'm sure I will enjoy ~ Mrs E

Have seen that Southampton have apparently increase their bid to 12m. Personally between that and 15m I would take as it would be great business for the club

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Junglebhoy . there is no hurry, let him play another season in the cl . this is a big guy that is happy where he is .
what we should be doing is offering him a rise and a new contract .
they are talking about £20m for mccarthur and £8m for wee shaun . big vic is better .
we have two years on his contract, let's try to increase that . and hold on to him . then maybe we will get the £25m that lenny quoted . shammy

Cant believe how we have been lied too. We keep hearing we won't sell Wanyama for less than £25m, he has Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Inter Milan after him. In reality it is Cardiff and Southampton, two EPL minnows, and he's off for 10m, when will club stop lying to fans, I think its time to boycott season books. It shows haw far we have sunk that by far and away our best player can only get a move to a relegation threatened EPL team, that means rest of team is Championship level at best, Its a bad day for the hoops bhoys. Can anyone seriously buy a season ticket now after this embarrassment?

No way your a Celtic fan I'm a Gers man and I know what being lied to from a board is all about u need to get a grip pal the papers like to spin it have Celtic said Milan Liverpool & Arsenal are interested no doubt everyone will have had a look but that doesn't mean he will go there. It's a shame that SPL players of that Quality probably need to move to a lower level prem side to get there big move the fact is City certainly don't need him, Man U has too many young midfielders he would fit in at Arsenal but theyl go for Fellaini I reckon. Ledley Mathews Foster & Hooper could all mix it up in the Prem but none of them in a top 6 side that's just the way it is! The guys not good enough to oust Toure Carrick Allen or Arteta from there respective 1st teams so he will go for the money & 1st team experience in the best league in the world Galatasaray would be a good move for him/.

I usually stay out of the bitter posts but OP you ain't fooling no one, very bitter but don't be as i'm sure super ally will get yous back in the top division in 4 or 5 yrs, u might even have a good wee cup run( 4th or 5th round till the mighty montrose score a goal from the part time window cleaner/striker to put you out of the star studded ramsdens cup. looking forward till our first ever meeting. bhoywonder

Agree0 Disagree0

Il just take back what I said about Joe Allen & Mikel Arteta big Vics probs a better player but it's still not Chelsea City or Utd is Liverpool & Arsenal big enough clubs for yous to sell a player too? Or is it only Champions of there country who make last 16 of CL who are good enough for him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't k ow why people would be bothered who he goes too if indeed he is sold. As long as the cash is coming celtics way is all that matters. All this guff about lack of ambition an relegation battles. Te fact is the EPL is a better leauge than what Celtic can offer week in week out. Do well at Southampton Cardiff etc and the big boys will come calling. Sadly that's just how it is. I'd love it if he stayed till jan as the teams looking good and with the additions can only get better.

Agree0 Disagree0

I smell a zombie, glory hunting on the Champions forum! Don't worry mate it's in our faith to obsolve you of your sins of supporting Rankgers. Come on over to the Green side and feel how good it is to be everything Celtic! Your new (new) team will be gone again real soon

Question for you Ed and Bhoys.

Forget the obvious big name players i.e Larsson, etc but are there any former player or players you would love to see in our team just now?For me I would love to see Marc Reiper or Ramon Vega in our defence, Reiper has always been one of my favourites and Vega could've been a huge player for us if we only just got him signed up permanately.

Who are your players?
