Anyone else think Alan Campbell the young boy at Motherwell is worth a punt. Very much in the Broony mould too.

Supposed to be looking at their NI midfielder as well.
Can't remember his name.

Donnelly apparantly we'll have a team of midfielders if we don't watch.

We'll also have a team full of sh*te if we go for Shanklands, Boyles, Donnellys, Cosgroves etc.

Hi Troops.

Just wanted your own views on this. I have thought for a while that there is a real player within the lad Kamberi at hibs. I think with the right manager and players around him he could be a real cracker, he's only 24 and go skill and pace. Just an opinion. Would you think he would be a good celtic player?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 Jan 2020 16:54:31
Unfortunately our current manager is the manager who (allegedly) had a massive fallout with Kamberi so I'd imagine that would be a non-starter.

The biggest problem there is that Lennon allegedly had a bust up with him at Hibs and he’s not known for his forgiveness.

Watched him the other nite and thought the same Garry! The lads definitely got something and whenever I’ve seen him he’s impressed me. don't think he’s what we’re after but to be honest. we need players who are going to come in and make a telling contribution. don't think he’s quite at that level.

The only player in Scotland we should go for would be Turnbull when he's fit and back playing. Hopefully sign him in the summer.

Not for me, weak, no heart, floats in and out of games. His level is where he is at. Even Hibs fans don't rate him highly.

I don't think I've ever been this nervous for a title run in before.
I truly hope the board, the players and the manager know what is at stake here. We need to hit the ground running from tomorrow night until the split and take it from there, no margin for error. With the introduction of Klimala, Soro and hopefully a few more before the transfer window closes we might have enough to get us over the finish line and take us to the promise land of a 10 in a row season. I'm not going to turn a blind eye to a better rangers team than they have been over the last few years, which they are, but we have the power financially in January to turn it all around. If we don't win the league we only can point the finger to men at the top of the chain, we have a chance that I might only see once in my lifetime, I just hope we do all we can as a club and take it. Hail Hail.

When the oldco were going for 10! Definitely a more nervous time. We can feck up 9iar and board will have serious questions to answer. Not the same nerves. Admittedly, I'd rather not lose to that mob.

{Ed's Note - Paythefacepainter has posted a new article entitled, We need to talk about Celtic chief executive, Peter Lawwell

Believable1 Unbelievable0

21 Jan 2020 12:35:33
Good post there. Although I'd only go as far as #LawwellStepBack. He's good at brokering deals. The key issue is that he's been too influential in footballing decisions.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2020 13:48:54
Paythefacepainter, that was a well written and accurate article.
Up until recently I was in Lawwell’s corner because I always thought he had a 10 year plan which was going well until the summer transfer window. My understanding was he was doing enough to win the first 8 titles and keeping money in the bank for when it was needed the most.
The time for Lawwell to step up a gear and release serious funds is this season because everybody can see the gap has closed considerably. I also thought getting beat on the 29th would make us more determined to get experienced professionals in place because a title race is definitely on.
It is very frustrating being a Celtic supporter in these transfer windows and Lawwell needs to earn his big wage and bonuses and make sure he delivers the title because it is in his hands and if he fails, he will never be forgiven.

A little disappointed in that I have to say, I will try to raise some valid points.
What he is paid (and I think its too much) is the boards fault not his he just does his job.
Signings? Well tell me a club that gets everyone right and our next signing will be a unicorn. Yes ed and others have spoke about salary cap and signing better quality etc and it all makes sense but that's not the real world.
The real world is the players we would like to get won't come or get better £££ elsewhere.
As for Mcginn well everyone on here was split on it and thought he wudnt get in the team, so would we have bought another squad player?
Lawwell gets constant criticism for that.
As for choice of managers well he gets criticised for the bad ones but no credit for the good ones?
DD may well have got BR but you really think he didn't even discuss it with PL?
Lastly the concern by Celtic supporters is only cos we are getting challenged, are we not allowed to be challenged?
Surely a challenge makes us better?
Did u see BRs last season we were poor?
That post would simply not have been put up if not for the Sevco challenge, it would have been hard for them not to improve they were awful.
They have now got their act together albeit they can't afford to pay their bills without help.
Lets look at this logically- we are 10 points ahead of last season with 1 trophy in the bag already.
If any supporter had been asked at the start of season we would be 10 points ahead of last season and League cup in cabinet we would have snapped their hands off.
Also with 4-5 going out door with 2 new signings in and it looks like a couple more whos shoes would you rather be in ours or theirs?

Rayman, Who’s shoes would you rather be in?
You make that sound as if that’s an easy question because we could find ourselves a point behind and we only have 8 home games left and Sevco have 11 home games still to play. I firmly believe we are in trouble after losing that 6 pointer on the 29th. We need to get in at least 2 experienced players, who can walk into our starting eleven because at the moment it’s 50/ 50.

The vast majority of supporters can relate to that summary of our chief exec and although he has earned his handsome bonuses based on the financial targets embroidered into his contract, he has failed to see the bigger picture or represent/ defend Celtic FC with any guts.
The biggest problem with The Board over the decades I have seen, is a failure to build from a position of strength and the very same flaw was partially responsible for the previous manager leaving and the current situation with us downgrading the standard of manager and still failing to bring in players that are REAL Celtic class.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Jan 2020 20:06:34
It is a forum and we are all entitled to have opinions and disagree. I personally don't believe we are in trouble I think that is an over reaction to losing to sevco in manner we did.

Whilst I agree with Rayman there is a credible challenge but no matter what state the league is in supporters will always find fault and criticise which is their right. Yes we should be concerned enough to pay it enough respect but you have believe in what your doing as a team and manager. As much as I didn't want Lennon originally we are only concerned that we are achieving more this season than other seasons foregoing the invincible one.

We are doing better in Europe, we are doing better in the league points wise and we have secured 1st trophy albiet luckily but you still need to take advantage of luck. We have had injuries a lot and not a settled team as such. This window is vital now as is the Kilmarnock game however I do feel since we are talking about them, they don't have the squad to finish the job once injuries and suspensions come into play (just my opinion) .

I am fully confident that we will rise to this challenge and see it out a lot more comfortably than we expect. The Scottish Cup is where we may slip up. There is no doubt this season the real reason that supporters are worried is we have had it too easy in the league and nobody has challenged Rayman is bang on, the challenge of sevco has made us better this is true whether we agree with it or not. Celtic will win the league and sevco will finish second.

Celtic will need to be at our best on Wednesday to secure a victory. Kilmarnock have only conceded 6 goals in 10 league games at home this season. Half the goals Killie conceded were against clubs who also play on plastic pitches (Hamilton and Livingston) Motherwell have also scored there and the other lot scored 2 at rugby park on the opening game of the season. Kilmarnock have kept 6 clean sheets out of those 10 home league matches.

With two games a week for the foreseeable future, the pressure is well and truly on to get back to our best and most importantly, put away more chances and kill opponents off, while we are on top.
I appreciate we have a number of injuries, but we still have the strongest squad in the country and there are still a few players that are overdue to hit top form. Killie will be tough, but every domestic game has to be approached as a must-win.

Just a bit TW 👍. It's the domestic fixture over the next wee run that sticks out as a potential banana skin for me. The pitch is certainly a factor. As has been said they are all must win games now. With league duty restarting I hope our bhoys are chomping at the bit.

Like it or not we have allowed them to get back to a similar level to us (not saying as good as) and it wasn't that long ago we were mauling them by 5 regular. We can put them back in their box tho with 1 or 2 quality additions. If we fail to do that then the blame lies with the board as NL has freed up the wages, we must be £35k - £40k a week better off between SS, Hendry and Morgan and a few more likely to leave. Surely with KT transfer kitty we can get some real quality in, even if it's a 18 month loan deal, if good enough to secure 9, bring it on.

Chinks I hear what you are saying not sure if we allowed them. They are not losing games we can't control that, that's it, in the past thy dropped points to draws etc.
They can't spend any money on new players at the Xmas break as they have no money. No one has come in to buy there players either. They are playing with desporation and a fear it's working just now for them we will see. I think it will burst.
