Lads did anyone have any problems last nite with checks on season tickets and id? Reason I ask is cos ma boss is giving me 2 of his tickets for the sevco game to take ma son. I'm going to put vouchers for the superstore in his stocking and take him in early to spend them, then when we're there am going to surprise him with the ticket. But if they're lookin for id then it would ruin it obviously.

I don't get the ID bit Steph? I've had a season ticket for years (a lot of) but how would Celtic ID me against my ticket? My brother in law and grandson had mine and my sons last night and as far as I'm aware there were no issues my friend. Or is it too late at night and I'm missing something?

{Ed007's Note - The stewards were supposedly getting kids to show them their Facebook pages to confirm their identity and age.}

My boy had mine and there was no probs with him.

That's what I heard too ed. Out of order if u ask me. A was just thinking it mightve been about the letter they sent out and were starting to enforce the stupid rule about using someone else's ticket.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure JP Taylor said that letter was aimed at adults using kids tickets.}

FFS we've come along way since we were lifting wee laddies and the next generation of supporters over the turnstiles. Or have we? Sometimes I fear the club and some of our supporters are in danger of forgetting their old arse and why we were founded.

21 Dec 2017 18:03:23
Don't know how they could legally enforce it jfp. A know a wouldn't take kindly to a steward asking to see id.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Dec 2017 18:07:12
That's fair enough ed but asking kids to show Facebook accounts can't be right. Anyway it surely wouldn't be beyond the kids to set up fake accounts so a wouldn't see how it proves anything. That's if it even happened, my mate seen it in the sun so probably chocolate.

Steph you should be fine because you're the other way round your kid using and adult ticket. If asked. sorry i've nae phone and nae Facebook oot ma road. Ah was taking a fairly large sum of money out the bank a couple of years ago and they asked for photographic ID. I took a photo out I carry in my wallet when I was 4! They asked how did they know it was me? Ma mammy telt me said I. They gave me the cash. 😂 jfp.

Stephbhoy2 you shouldn’t have any problems getting your son into the Sevco game. It’s my understanding the Club is concerned with Adults gaining entry to games with kids season tickets.

Cheers lads. Canny wait to see his face he'll have no idea we've got tickets. In the comfy seats too so free pies for me. Need to be sober tho.

{Ed007's Note - I hope you and the wee man have a great day, Steph and you'll be celebrating. You're probably less likely to get hassle if you're sitting in the posh seats as well, tickets in there are passed on all the time.}

21 Dec 2017 19:03:59
Steph mind tell him 'That's the manky mob over there and when you say your prayers tonight son thank God your scarf isn't red, white and blue'. Have a great day wae the wee man coz their next pumping is coming to a stadium near you soon!

If they had asked to see my weans facebook some serious legal questions would be getting asked of the club. A stranger asking a wean to see their facebook?

Asking to see facebook pages, really? That's been on the radar in the last few years with US Immigration--started under Obama I think--but that is a total invasion of privacies which are protected under European law and probably even the Tory Investigatory Powers Act. Liberty, Amnesty, Privacy International, Don't Spy on Us have all been trying to gather concrete data on this practice, or similar, for several years now, and may be of assistance to anyone who has been asked for this sort of information and access. Horrible to think of stewards at Celtic doing this.

{Ed007's Note - The problem is our Head of Security, Ronnie Hawthorn, is a complete bellend and anyone who's had any dealings with him will tell you that. The Club seem to be passing the buck about this and JP Taylor was told today that there was no changes to procedures last night. I've known JP for over 20 years and I don't think for a minute he would lie to any supporter, the lies are obviously coming from higher up and I'd bet my last £ it's Hawthorn.
Him and the PR idiot Iain Jamieson should have been chased out of Celtic Park years ago, for a club our size our PR and treatment of fans is diabolical.}

An absolute bloody disgrace to ask a youngster to show theyr Facebook page to prove there age! Bloody amateur hour down there honestly! I couldn't make it on Wednesday but I’m going tomorrow with my nephew and I can assure u, if anyone ask to see his Facebook page they’ll be told to f**k off! I’m going to let some half wit steward who I don’t know from Adam and have no idea what his or her background is check a child’s Facebook page! No chance! I love celtic and I’m proud to call myself a tim, but the way the club treat the fans is a disgrace by the way! If there’s a way to make a right arse of it then they’ll find it! Who says the Xmas spirit is gone eh! Clowns!

Lol Ed I’m sure iv posted my feelings to you about Fat Ronnie before he only got the job because he’s a goat molester he hated football and hated Celtic as most ex cops do. Likes to share too much season book holders info with his old chums and Was stupid enough to okay where Riordans house was when everyone and there granny knew it was a sitting duck. Iv had no issues with others using my ticket when I can’t go.

{Ed007's Note - I knew there was someone on here that knew him, cheers CB.}

There's an easy answer if your kid is asked to show his Facebook page facebook is for adults you have to be 18 to have one.

What's everyone's thoughts on bringing back a Reserve league. I personally would far rather an 18 team Reserve League with clubs being able to play 1st team regulars who are either just back from injury or needing game time, plus fringe players and the best of our youths. Would be far better for our youths being able to play alongside our 1st team players and also play against other clubs 1st team players rather than playing in the Development League against kids they have probably played against year after year since they were very young. I know Malky Mackay is keen to bring it back as part of Project Brave and i am all for it. I mentioned a couple of weeks back that in Barry Fergusons interview with Si Ferry he mentions he learned more by playing in reserve team football than with youths. Surely this is the way forward guys like Johnston Miller Aitchison etc should be able to hone their skills alongside and against better players more regulary so that they can develop properly, not saying ditch the development league keep it but with the best of our youths being able to step up to reserves when needed to gain valuable experience that will prepare them better for life in the SPL. Thoughts please. HH.

I agree with you Stan, I have never understood the reasoning for doing away with it in the first place.
I think that players like Johnny Hayes would benefit, as apart from getting game time, he would be able to work his way into our style of play with less pressure on him.

It would be great for us to bring it back, but am sure the reason it stopped was most of the teams in Scotland couldn't afford to do it.

I thought it was stopped to prevent us getting 9 in a row 😂 Was it Willie McStay that got us the 8. Hopefully there is an interest in it by Clubs in the Spl and Championship.
