See they've had to change the target amount twice already the original amount of £15k became 20k and both were reached in hours. The third target of 30 k was reached in 24Hours Well done to the organisers you deserve lots of credit for this I'm beginning to think a six figure sum is not out of the question.

There is a rumour about James McCarthy being on the radar. How in the name of God is he an improvement on what we already have? He is such an average player - I hope to God there is nothing in this!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

21 Aug 2016 22:11:10
I wouldn't say average but difficult to see where he fits in with Brown playing well.

21 Aug 2016 22:14:47
I agree mate don't think he's any better than we all ready have although he could be a good signing if true I've watched Everton games and on his day can be unplayable think we are just disappointed with his name from the names been mentioned lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 21:33:34
Cmon Andy, he'd rip it up in our league. It won't happen but so no need for u to get too upset. He will stay in England.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Aug 2016 21:41:41
agreed.

Out of most of the players mentioned would take mc Carthy hands down, good age and could play along side brown, better player than bitton. loves Celtic he'll do for me. doudt it will happen any time soon probably 3-4 seasons from now.

On the matchthefineforpalestine go fund me page the Green brigade set up. It's at £11000 after just a few hours. I don't always agree with their actions. But when they get it right they do and as always our support make you proud to be a part of this great clubs fan base.

My head and my heart are both telling me Celtic should be more than good enough to see the job through in Israel on Tuesday and that a 3 goal cushion is adequate. But I've still got a squeaky bum.

JFP1888: my thoughts are that they will have to come and attack us to get the goals required thus allowing us plenty space. we will not only score, we will win the away tie 3-1 (8-3) .

this team are better than malmo

we are better now than when we played malmo

this team are not finished

celtic have a horrible away record in europe

we need to put everything in to this match to come through

the intensity needs to be there
the cool heads need to be screwed on

they have a mountain to climb but we need to make sure we don't give them any encouragement

Celtic will be mentally scared after Malmo and Maribor and so mental preparation will be pivotal

its not over …to think it is would be plain silly

we don't merit respect away from home and so they will come on to us …. can we counter effectively …

i hate Celtic playing a containing game not because it isn't what we should otherwise do, but because I don't think we are very good at it

we need to be honest

red imps away was mortifying
astana scoreline away totally flattered us
we sneaked past astana at home

we will need to bring our A game to get over the line but a 2 goal start (some say 3 but I say 2) isn't too shabby

as i sit here today i think we will lose, and I'm going for 3-1 (with CFC going through)

We have learnt we have grown we are still growing they will come at us and we will repulse them. 1 3 celtic to win Hail hail.

Agree2 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 23:24:52
I don't think we will win the game but we won't lose it by 3 goals and we have the ability to score a couple over there. I think it will be a 2-2 draw.

My god man settle down.

21 Aug 2016 23:45:14
I M O I think it is crazy to say we will be mentally scared by Malmo and Maribor, if for no other reason that we have changed our manager .
Whilst previewing any away game a negative poster will find many reason why we will lose .
I will be surprised if we lose the tie on tuesday and amazed if we go into great danger of losing qualification.

Agree0 Disagree3

22 Aug 2016 07:07:09
Based on what old bhoy? The red imps away game or the Astana away game? Where is your rationale. I have my own

So long as we go through though eh?

By implication you're saying I'm negative. Why don't I you stop the jousting and post based on some kind of logic

We had a new manger when strachan replaced oneill and when Lennon replaced strachan and when delia replaced Lennon and I can't recall anything other than away day blues

In the past 15 years we have been totally mince away on Europe.

22 Aug 2016 07:23:07
The team has to be set up properly, it has to be focussed, theirs is a tight little ground and with 14000 of their fanatical fans making it a hostile atmosphere for any visiting team, they will throw evefything and the kitchen sink from the start, I think the only way to do it is to retain possesion, don't sit back, too much, that eould be suicide, when Celtic have the ball, they will not only have to prove they are better players but can work just as hard and be just as determined as the Israelis.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Aug 2016 09:30:18
I think it's natural to be worried. Even now our defence is shambolic at times and it needs sorting.

I think we will score over there, but I also think we will have to because the defence is still prone to schoolboy errors.

4 goals lost in two games and if you don't worry about that you are in denial.

Defence needs sorted fast.

id have to agree with some of the above posters, it is probably likely that we will concede, but i'm going for a score draw, hapoel will come at us, and with sinclair, griff, forest. our pace is going to cause them problems on the break.
for me a back 4 of lustig toure erik tierney should tighten things up a bit, o'connell has done a great job but i would go for erik in this instance.

Not celtic related but what a fight that mcgregor v Diaz was. Good to see the Irish coming out on top. Love his song that he walks out to. 🍀.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

21 Aug 2016 18:43:44
great fight, i think he should go back to 145 and beat aldo again to defend his belt then back up to 155 for the mcgregor v diaz trilogy.

21 Aug 2016 19:13:38
Hes to defend his title against aldo so after that then it il be diaz again. Or dos anjos like the original fight.

The notorious 1 is the man, who else has the balls 2 jump up 2 weight divisions 2 take on a bigger guy, who has reach n height advantage.
Outstanding fight, McGregor a worthy winner n flying the Irish flag with pride.
Rematch with Aldo next which Conor will knock him out again, then lightweight title fight against Alvarez or whoever is the champion then, would mean he's a 2 time 2 weight champion in 2 organisations, then imagine McGregor Diaz 3 for the lightweight title, just adds that bit of prestige to it, not that it's needed, but for me Diaz deserves a shot at a title n what better way.
However I'm a McGregor man all the way.
Hail hail.

One player I would love us to take a punt on is Omar Abdulrahman anyone who has never seen this guy have a look on YouTube! Bags of skill! He has all the tricks just 24 God knows why no big team has ever tried to sign him!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

21 Aug 2016 01:20:22
The only other time I've seen this player was on here actually. Certainly looks like an entertainer. Slipped through the net? Or flatters to deceive? I'd say worth a trial.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Aug 2016 07:25:14
Man City tried to sign him a few years ago after a successful trial but he decided to stay in the Far East. He just signed a new deal with his current club so will no doubt be on a fortune. He was player of the olympics back in 2012.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you couldn't afford him. He is here in the UAE for two reasons. One, he and his family are actually Yemenis but are given full citizenship due to him playing here and for the national side. Hence why he was ok to go to Man City, if they had wanted him, due to them being owned by the UAE's ruling family. Anyone else would have to find a way to agree a deal with the government here regarding his family.

Secondly the wages here are ridiculously high. They have limits on the number of foreigners, so the best players, and the Abdulrahman's are the best the UAE have, get paid obscenely well. Omar is the highest paid player in the region, a region which was willing to offer double the wages to Steven Defour to join a club here (Al Ahli and another club both made offers that more than doubled the offer Burnley made financially, even not counting the lack of personal taxes here!), and he was offered nothing like the money Omar is on.}

21 Aug 2016 09:23:12
Here 001 Are you trying to tell us you are better paid than Simon Cowell and a bigger tax dodger than the Rangers? -P (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I wish. I am here because I needed sun after illness and it was somewhere I had worked before, plus it is a good place to keep in touch with football people as they come out here a lot.}

21 Aug 2016 09:38:43
Oh I can follow that train of thought 001 I have a muscle/ back problem that benefits from the sun am entering my 3rd month here in Spain having just finished off a project of mine here home tail end of to FL for 90 days first week Dec, Scottish winters to harsh noo for this 44 yr old (y)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yeah it is a big boost to your health getting away from the cold and damp! I am off to Spain myself next month to save money, as it is cheaper staying with my parents than living out here.}

21 Aug 2016 14:18:22
It's the same the world over, our thirty something year old daughters come home, not to visit the old pair, but to ate our food .
