Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

20 May 2018 19:40:33
I'm guessing all those "Grannies " that could have managed Celtic to the double treble would have been a handier, cheaper option for The Rangers (2012) šŸ˜‚.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

20 May 2018 20:58:04
Despite all their years of cheating it's something that the old Rangers never achieved.
When Sevco were in the lower leagues their fans were constantly telling us that our success didn't count because they weren't in the league and we had no competition.
Considering that we didn't win a treble before Sevco came into the top league, and that in the two years that they have we've won two of them, will they now admit that their prescence in the league has made things easier for us due to their total lack of quality? .

Agree1 Disagree1

20 May 2018 22:27:30
They are pickling in their own bile and long, long may it continue.
The bitterness and envy projected by Dodds and McLeish yesterday is a reflection of how the tribute act and their gullable, delusional followers are suffering at the hands of - not only the BR revolution but - the progress of all the other honest, well run clubs in the SPL BTW, I hope Celtic players realize what a bitter old relic is now in charge of the national side and treat him and the corrupt, fat-cat establishment with the 'respect' they give Celtic.

21 May 2018 12:48:00
The whole sportscene team wanting a Motherwell win.

Every good move we made and Dodds instinctively focusing on how it was defended.

The situation is never going to change. Their pain and irritation are palpable. I used to get angry at this. Now I actually love it. It shows clearly deep trauma. I want them to have hope. Without hope the pain we are going to inflict isnā€™t as deep and scarring.

The default position of gulf in resources always makes me laugh. If one of those bastards could show me one clip, one sentence where they brought that up when Rangers had all of Hectors money it would have more weight.

They canā€™t because it never happened.

They think we live in Deludedville too.

Keep up the pain Celtic. In fact, raise it a notch.

okay so we learned something today. Firstly if your a Celtic player you must be amazed at the esteem Henrik is held in, it's astonishing. That's what you get if you commit to the cause.

Second. Young keeper, thought he looked very good, been hearing his name for a while and excellent with his feet. Kouassi i thought looked very sharp, lovely work for the goal, there's a big player in that kid.

Reagan Hendry? Kept him quiet. looked a real talented boy with a lovely balance to him. This is a young team, growing together, they will make mistakes, but things are really bright.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed007's Note - Commit to the cause, are you having a laugh? Larsson was here for 7 years and after 6 he lied to the board, the board also lied to him and he cost the Club millions in a transfer fee and who ended up out of pocket - the fans as usual.}

20 May 2018 21:44:10
I agree the transfer thing was shady but my point was really more about the mindset of us. Any ex player who done it on the pitch, and he did, will always get a warm welcome. Compare the deal with Dalgleish leaving and it does not look good for example.

I am sure that I am going to be derided for suggesting this but here goes
I am sure we are all pleased to see the players sign new long contacts and if Armstrong and Boyata were to sign up the team would have a very settled feel for the next 5 years.
However we all know cover is needed in certain areas,
A RB, a left sided CD LB RW and a replacement for Scott Brown in the future. So here goes with my idea
Stephen O'Donnell Scott Mckenna Declan John John Mcginn and Chris Cadden
I know some of you will shout that these are not good enough but no one is saying that about Lewis Morgan and he is the same age as some of these and is only proven in the championship
These player have competed at PL level BR loves working with young players and all of these would improve under his tutelage.

Back after bit away. Long time reader of posts.
Was at game against Aberdeen, as a guest of season ticket holder of prominence who was himself in boardroom as a guest of the club. When asked if he had any snippets of info: ā€œwell this comes from the horses mouth, priority is a RB, a LB as cover for KT since sizeable bids will be received and one may be too high to turn down, and we are signing John McGinnā€.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 21:59:20

Can we all calm doon about KT? The Bhoy is going nowhere for at least five years. Thank you :)

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2018 12:21:15
What I posted earlier was simply what I was told vetbatim.

Personally I never want to see KT leave but if a bid of Ā£30/ 40M comes in what do you think will happen!
And the fact McGinn is on holiday right now/ Scotland squad etc, are you seriously giving that as a reason why this transfer wonā€™t happen ( once a transfer window opens btw) . Scott Allan plus fringe player on loan for a year plus cash, St Mirren due 33% sell on too.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If a bid of Ā£30/40 million comes in for KT nothing will happen, out of professional courtesy the Club would speak to the player and his agent and they would in turn thank them but turn down the move - or are you saying the Club would force Tierney to move even when he doesn't want to?}

21 May 2018 13:48:02
Tierney is living his dream and is clearly in no hurry to give that up. He seems like a bright lad, he knows that if thereā€™s a big move there for him now it will still be there in a few years time. No chance heā€™s leaving any time soon if at all.

21 May 2018 21:34:52
spoke to johns girlfriends grandad again today, john is coming back tonight, there has been no contact at all from any club yet never mind from Celtic, he was saying they have jokingly told john if he went to rangers he wouldn't be allowed in their houses lol, but i know he would never join them.

He'd be an ideal replacement should Armstrong leave and would really suit out style. Can't see it though. He left in pursuit of the EPL and I fancy Fulham to get there.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 13:57:15
I think Mcginn is a better replacement for Armstrong and at his age fits better with our signing policy.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 14:29:07
I'd have McGinn as a replacement for Armstrong Andy.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That would be my shout too, JT.}

20 May 2018 15:13:32
I thought this was the Johansen thread sorry šŸ˜–. I wouldn't take Ki to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 15:04:00
I don't think he's going to take us to the next level next season Ed (talking Europe particularly, here) . But as a squad player with the view to him improving and establishing himself in time, absolutely.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's more than capable on the domestic front and under Rodgers we know he'll improve, how far would be up to McGinn himself imo.}

20 May 2018 15:47:15
I definitely wouldnā€™t take Johansen back, was never a fan of his, one of the most careless passers of a ball I have ever seen .

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2018 17:51:50
While I think Armstrong is a brilliant addition to the team with his forward runs, always though Ki was the opposite, was glad to see the back of him, thought he slowed play down, and was bad for the whole team.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 20:11:54
If we ate going for McGinn we need to do it this window. We have a few px deals available that may work for Hibs so the deal should be doable. Armstrong definitely away and Brown won't last forever but what about Kouassi? What do we do with him. He was bought as an understudy to Brown. Is he going to be sold Rd or do we bypass McGinn.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2018 11:01:01
I think Kouassi will remain understudy to Brown at CDM Johnny. I don't see McGinn playing that anchor role. He'll be the box to box/ creative passer that Armstrong is.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - That's how I see it as well, JT. McGinn is more like Armstrong and Ntcham playing the box to box role whereas Kouassi will do what Brown does and sit in protecting the defence.
For Europe next season I would play a 4-3-2-1 with Brown and Kouassi both playing CDM in the 3 allowing Ntcham to get up and down the park while giving us extra protection at the back.}

21 May 2018 12:39:51
That's a good shout to be fair Ed. Kouassi looked great against Zenit in there and we'll need all the protection we can get in the CL groups should we get there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We'd look something like this:
------------------?????--------------
--???????-----Ajer---??????----Tierney---
---------Brown---Kouassi-----Ntcham---
----------Rogic/??---McGregor/???----
-------------Dembele/Edouard/??-----

I've put the ?? in the CAM positions because I do think that line is somewhere we need strengthened, the lack of creativity - and more importantly our goals tally for this season is a cause for concern. Sinclair if he can get back to form would need to come into contention and if LG could calm down with his shoot on sight policy could do a good job in there imo with his speed and trickery.
We all know we're never going to win the CL and we've been very unlucky with the draw the past 2 seasons but I don't think we're that far away from being at the level of teams just below the 'big elite' clubs.}

21 May 2018 13:20:03
Three positions ticked there for me that we need to sign straight away mate. Would really like an attacking wide man better than Forrest to offer width at times though. 4 quality players should not be too much to ask this season and I think it well get us to that level you talk about.

I like LG as a cult hero and he's exciting at domestic level but for me we need to look beyond him, if we aren't already with Edouard. LG will never be selfless and there are just better focal points which as underdogs we need. People see tying scarfs round goalposts over the footballer sometimes me thinks.

Rogic will get the shout next season at CAM. Good ones don't come two a penny. If he breaks down though then that's it for me. I gave the decision the give him a bumper contract the benefit of the doubt because there's a player in there. Probably heart over head. That said we could still do with somebody to come on after an hour when he's blowing out his arse.

Anyway I'm waffling. On the whole I like that shape for Europe yeah.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Next season is a massive season for Rogic, he needs to step-up and show that he was worth getting his bumper new contract. He doesn't score enough goals or create enough assists for me. It's his main job to create chances and show the skills to break down stubborn defences and as this season has shown we, as a team, never done that enough but he has to shoulder a lot of the blame for that imo. It's all well and good scoring at Ibrox and in important cup games but he needs to start being more effective in more games, 0-0 against teams like Motherwell, Kilmarnock and Dundee simply is nowhere near good enough.
If Rogic spends a lot of the season next year injured that'll be it for me and he should be punted next year.
We conceded the same amount of league goals this season (25) as last but we scored 33 (106 last year and 73 this year) less than we managed last season. You see for yourself on the live chat, JT how many times we talk about needing to find a way to break down stifling defences well that's guys like Rogic and Forrest's job and in my opinion neither of them have done that enough and/or consistently - did Sinclair's fantastic season last season mask the problem?}

21 May 2018 19:06:56
Neither Rogic or Forrest have done it consistently Ed no. Hopefully Rogic can add that but Forrest I'd quite simply like to see replaced. Fair point about Sinclair masking it. He's another that hasn't quite hit the standards he set last season but the difference in team goals isn't just down to him either mind. Ach you've almost got me after another CAM now. We might be in the market for a squad CAM now though with Musonda heading back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd have McGregor starting as our No.10 but I don't see Rodgers doing that now Rogic has signed the extension.}

20 May 2018 11:20:28
would you have stefan johansen back?
in his final year at celtic, he was playing with a back injury if i remember correctly. but the year before that he ran the show and won player of the year.
his contract is up next season and we could probably get him cheap.

20 May 2018 12:38:57
Good player but not for me. I never like the idea of resigning players. It rarely works out.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 12:58:19
He is 90 minutes away from playing in ā€œthe best league in the worldā€. Why would he want to miss out on massive games like Brighton, Burnley and Bournemouth?

I would have McGregor or Rogic ahead of him too for the attacking midfield role and there is no danger he would get a game over Brown, Armstrong or Ntcham.

Well that's it for another season. We've had a lot of highs (domestic) and a few lows (Europe) but all in all it was a season that we will never forget. When players matured and grew and our captain who just seemed to get better and better with each game.

Now on to next season and the rumours of players we are looking at. (I love it) A few extra additions who can fit straight into the team and maybe a gem or two. Domestically another treble? why not but it's in Europe I want to see the progression. The future is bright the future is green and white.

Well bhoys what a day that was! 6 out of 6 trophies is totally unheard of, as much as we all thought good times were ahead when Rodgers came in, I certainly would never have expected this!

In regards to the game, another big goal from McGregor. He was my POTY, heā€™s one of the first names on the team sheet and what a cracking goal it was too. The whole team was brilliant actually, but I thought Dembele ran the show. He won so many important fouls, his link up play was superb and for me showed the main reason heā€™s our first choice striker.

Anyone know why Ajer was taken off? Should we consider that a goodbye to Simunovic? Seemed like a strange move.

Lastly, I saw a clip there of Brown doing his talk in the huddle. You could clearly see what he was saying ā€œwhatever happens- we win this f***ing gameā€. Weā€™re so lucky to have a captain like him and he certainly deserves his day today!

Over the fifty odd years i have been following Celtic there have been some amazing moments and some serious downers. From Lisbon, which i just about remember, to the 1969 cup final when we towed rangers (il) 4-0,it was my first cup final, to ten men won the league to the Centenary double.

Flip side? Watching a dismal bunch of chancers nearly kill us through ineptitude and the tax cheating rise of rangers (il) . It was tough, at times it seemed it would never end, but we have been clever and shrewd and well managed fiscally. We are now living in payback, idaho. population EVERY TIM.

Some day, domestically this team will lose a trophy, just think about even saying that with a straight face, but when that happens they will still be the double treble team, still the invincibles. Players come and go from great clubs, some are legend some are forgotten, these guys will always be revered.

At the end yesterday, i allowed myself a moment of reflection and thought back to the ten year old me crammed in the Celtic end, with my aul Da and my (she loved the Celtic) , who thought it was always like this. It has not, but it has been joyous and sad and uplifting and depressing and always worthwhile.

I am not ashamed to say i had a tear in my eye yesterday, not all about the sadly passed old folks, not even entirely about Celtic. More a mix of everything because that's who and what we are. There is a few clubs worldwide who have that fan connection, we are one.

So thanks Celtic for always being there and delivering memories like yesterday.

Little did I know then, that when the auld-man first lifted me over the turnstyle when I was 6, it was going to have such a powerful impact and influence on my whole life; like all of us on here.
