Rumours I've heard this week in the papers/ news websites etc.:

Foreigners:
Aldo de Nigris (striker, Monterray)
Sources in Mexico are claiming we've already made a $4 M dollar bid for him (could swear I posted this with the source yesterday). Could see this taking place as he's a wiry target man which we need though the price seems a bit hefty (albeit being in dollars so maybe between 2.5 and 3 million sterling) considering I don't think we'll spend more than 2 or 3 million before we know how much we'll get from transfers which I think has to be a priority.

Jorge Claros (defensive midfielder, Motagua)
According to Pedro Ayala the Motagua president we're in discussions with them over signing him (and he sounds like he's resigned to losing him in the interview). Supposedly known for being a solid tackler, former team-mate of Izzy and Honduran international. Don't see Kayal leaving. Possible replacement for Brown?

Diego Biseswar (winger, Feyenoord)
We're after him according to his agent (Jeroen Hogwerf), but no contact has been made with Feyenoord. Unless we have a major winger clearout I don't see this happening as according to wikipedia he's a left winger (and we have Commons who's unplayable at the moment and Maloney) but I've heard through word of mouth he can play both flanks.

SPL:
David Goodwillie.
Apparently we're in for him as well as Rangers and a few teams down south. Don't see him ending up here personally and actually hope he doesn't. Good prospect but I reckon overrated and isn't the most focussed on the job.

Darren Randolph
Think this is just media speculation with no-one worth taking seriously coming out and saying anything about his link. Decent keeper but I think we should consider carefully try for more established ones first.

Jonny Russell
Can't remember where I heard this. Looked pretty good in our last game against United but haven't seen him much this season.

A point on claros. We don't need to sell kayal or brown. There is room within the squad for another defensive minded midfielder. If kayal gets injured we lack that sort of player as most of our midfielders are playmakers. Also I would prefer this years signings to be a bit more tried and tested than last summers young, promising players. (If possible, of course) Agree? Disagree?

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree - we could do with another solid midfielder but we have too many midfielders. I reckon one or two will leave (probably Juarez although I'm hoping keep him as he looked a good player early season and he's still young and maybe McGinn and McCourt as they've been out of the picture and even if good players to have in the squad there's only so long they'll go without regular football). The reason I think Brown may leave is that he's in his final year and if a deal can't be agreed we may need to sell. However I also think Brown's played most of his best games this season on the right and should stay there so it maybe is a contingency.

As for this year's signings I don't know. Arguably our best signings this year have been Kayal, Izzy and Hooper who're all youngish and relatively unknown.

Having said that the positions we need to strengthen as a priority IMO are GK, CB and up front. Experience in all these positions is essential, especially at the back. I'm happy with younger players though as Lennon's signings have been good so far and if they work out we'll likely make a profit when they leave or give us some quality for a few years.

Agree0 Disagree0

John sutton to sign for rangers

Agree0 Disagree0

Ness , wlyde and fleck all going to motherwell on loan next season if mccall wons the cup and sutton and hately going to ibrox argeement in place with aunt sally

Agree0 Disagree0

Gers fan here as far as this comment goes wylde is better than sutton or hately so he won't go Ness is as good as sutton or hately so hes goig nowhere as for fleck i would exchange him for the motherwell tea lady

Agree0 Disagree0

The same John Fleck who 2 years ago was the "next wayne rooney"? The youngster who, apparently, single handedly made murray park worth all the money? Surely not!

The players owe the fans, and the manager big time.
No complacency, no nerves, just go out and win the cup! The first trophy is always the hardest to win for a new manager, so hopefully Lenny is lifting it tomorrow. I would like to see Paddy Mccourt get on the pitch at some point, he deserves it, MON THE HOOPS!

Anthony Stokes in the squad for the final, I hope Neil Lennon plays him instead of Mr I don't have any regrets Samaras, Samaras is rubbish, how many league goals has he scored this season 3, a very poor goal scoring ratio to the games he has started, he has no regrets about the penalty miss, how many Celtic supporters would have any regrets if he got sold in the summer.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I think Samaras is leaving. He had a look about him and something about his body language told me that when he got subbed at Celtic park last week. When he's good he's unplayable. When he's bad he's an utter liability. Personally I've always thought he played best on the left but we have more than enough players there.

I think he'll start the cup final as a farewell as I don't see Stokes getting any favours from Lennon at the moment. For all we know part of his punishment might be starting on the bench in the cup final.

Previous post stated:

"Personally I would like to see the hoops get rid of :
1. Cervi
2. Zaluska
3. Hinkel
4. Hooiveld
5. Loovens
6. O Dea
7. Thompson
8. Ljungberg
9. McGinn
10. Jurez
11. Hutchinson
12. Rasmussen
13. Murphy £
14. Samaras £
15. Du-Ri

& buy in another half dozen players. . coments ?"

I reckon this is a good shout. Paul McGowan would be another to add to the list as well as Ritchie Towell. I though a similar thing myself and reckoned we'd get around £10m from sales and this was probably being on the low side. If Lenny is given another £5m then we could bring in 3 or 4 quality signings for the £15m and perhaps another couple of quality signings that are out of contract. We could then offer these guys around £30k per week and be a far, far better squad.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I reckon we could get £75k for Cervi , £300k Zaluska , £750k Hooiveld , £1m Loovens , £500k O'Dea , £250k Thompson , £1m McGinn , £2m Juarez , £50k Hutchison , £1.25m Rasmussen , £1m Murphy , £200k McGowan , £250k Towell , total £8.05m plus savings on the wages of Hinkel (£20k pw) , Ljungberg (£20k pw) , Conroy (£2, 500 pw) , which added to Lenny's budget should help get us the 4 or 5 signings we need for next season .

Agree0 Disagree0

Barring decent offers I'd keep one of Cervi or Zaluska to save wasting money.

If Zaluska is happy on the bench he's good cover as he's never put a foot wrong when covering for a keeper, just when he was number one last season. If not I reckon Cervi would do as cover until Xmas at least, maybe bringing in a loanee as 3rd (or 2nd) choice.

I'd keep Juarez if he's willing to stay. Has potential, our best signing prior to the Mexico incident (around about where he was dropped) and for all we know he may come good next year and just needs time to settle into our play (bear in mind he's hardly played in the 1st team in a competitive match). There's a player there, no doubt.

I'd also keep Thompson. Still young and no harm having him or loaning him out.

Would keep Cha. Done nothing wrong to be sold other than injury and being outplayed by Mark Wilson and for all we know this Adam Matthews kid may not have the experience and/or quality to be an able deputy if Wilson gets injured.

The rest I agree need to be moved on for one reason or another. Murphy and Samaras I'd swither about as we'd be left with two small and similar strikers but it depends on the offers and other signings. I'd also consider selling McGowan, Carey, McCourt (will never be a regular and deserves 1st team football) and Maloney (glass cannon).

Neil Lennon epitomises everything celtic stand for. A true figure for the club that is building a good team, i think he should get a new contract.

Agree if you think he should, disagree if you don't bla bla.

On wed 18th of may a meeting took place at lennoxtown neil lennon , dermot desmond , and peter lawwell were in attendance . The story i heard is that mr dermot desmond is fully aware that having seen rangers win their third successive title and craig whyte buy them over and clear the dept and put transfer funds in place for mcoist in the summer, and so has promised lennon a hefty transfer war chest this summer also, real serious money supposed to be , with fresh finance being put in by a friend of dermot desmond called JP mcmanus "watch this space " {Ed007's Note - JP McManus is an Irish billionaire who along with John Magnier built up a 29% shareholding in Manchester Utd, which was sold to Malcolm Glazer. He is heavily involved in horse racing and is a major shareholder in Ladbrokes, famously he and Magnier fell out with Alex Ferguson regarding the bloodstock rights of Rock of Gibraltar. His fortune is estimated at between £1.2 and £2 billion}

Being a billionaire doesn't mean you wnat to p 55 money down the drain. McManus and Magnier made thier fortune by smart investment and worth while gambles. Celtic, as with Rangers, are a long way off being a decent proift making entity and therefor are not a sound investment. Yes, Craig Whyte is an idiot for his investment, but as a blue i'm glad it came.

awrite bhoys n girls groundsman at celtic park can't say to much but shay given is on route to parkhead and as for the king of kings larsson will be cf coach and maby 1 big signing so wait and see when it come out

If Shay Given goes to Celtic he is an idiot. He is as good as if not better than Van Der Sar and would be wasted at this stage of his career in Scottish football where he would be playing Europa League football and finishing second each year. . ;-)

No seriously though, Arsenal have been long term admirers and can pay 3 times what celtic can as well as give him CL football, with a chance of winning it and the EPL. He is a fantactic keeper and i sincerely hope he doesn't sign for you.
