With the financial woes of the Glasgow and Edinburgh cousins does anybody think we have missed a money making opportunity in not offering loans to those desperate clubs? We could offer say £100,000 to cover wages if they can't pay players wages, 2248% APR for instance would be a fair enough interest rate, we could even have an advert on the telly along the lines of "Are you a football club in financial trouble"? Do you find yourself struggling to pay the bills come the end of the month? Worry no more JCGE pay day loans are here to help. Apply to JCGEloans for an instant decision or email jcge@girfuy.co.uk. Dont Want blow My own trumpet but I feel these signings comeing in could add a Real quality to the squad this dijik fella looks a Real steal what yous ghuys reckon Marty bhoy hh

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You never signed them, payed for them or tipped them to sign for us so your only blowing Peter Lawwell and Celtics trumpet mate lol

I agree though. I haven't been as optimistic about a forthcoming season in a while. If we can hold onto Hooper, Wanyama etc at least until we have qualified for the Champions League then they can go with my blessing along with the right fee of course.

Its a well known fact that john parks alias is marty as he's a huge wet wet wet fan:). bhoywonder

Lord Brodie said the legislation provided that such people need not be present for the purposes of deciding whether specific behaviour would be likely to incite public disorder.

"As it does not matter whether persons likely to be incited to public disorder are there in sufficient numbers or are there at all it cannot matter whether or not the persons who are present (whether likely to be incited to public disorder or otherwise) actually became aware of the relevant behaviour, " he said.

So songs that may incite public disorder in others don't need those other people present to be offences.

Therefore every orange hall should be closed down as the songs in there would incite public disorder if the hall was half full of Celtic fans. Legally, three high court judges have just decided Celtic fans don't need to be in the orange hall for it to be an offence.

Just listened to hearts administrator on TV. Sounds desperate times. Alex Salmond underspent £179m of the Scottish budget last year. Hearts need £800k. Bet he's tempted. But it's not the taxpayers problem.
How can the administrator ask 3,000 fans to stump up for season tickets and say can't promise any football? That breaks several laws including trading standards. You cannot knowingly sell a service you doubt you will deliver.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We will sell 3,000 extra Season Tickets nae bother now that the Baltic Balloon was been shown the door, Congratulations on the double by the way, especially the cup win.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that never stopped them letting the old rangers carry on when they were using taxpayers money to survive! Pretty much the lowlifes have carried carried on as if nothing happened!

I just checked out the new kit. My worst fears are not realised. It looks pretty good and gets a thumbs up from me. After all there are about a hundred hoops! Sopotcelt

Whats all yous bhoys view on the new tap then I personally think its smart joe bhoy?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looks better than the picture posted a while back. Think its pretty smart

Henriks Tongue

Agree0 Disagree0

It looks better than I thought but I'm still not in love with it. I'll still buy it (because I buy them all!) but I can't see it getting too many outings on my back.
What interested me more about the interview with Super Joe Ledley wearing it was the fact that he said he loves life at Paradise and wants to stay. So if the club wants to put a few polka dots on the collar and add furry cuffs then I'll still buy it if Joe is staying. Magnificent player for us.

ed, I hope you will allow me to try to explain my take on this topic . o.p it's worse than you think, @1 a player on £6.5k p.w. does not cost 6.5k . you have pension schemes, insurance, and n.i.c.e. which wil take the bill up to nearer 9k .
by the time next season kicks off you will have about 20 players earning more than 5k p.w. plus all the others on less . won't even bother to count them .
so your wage bill for players alone including win bonuses . will probably be over £10m .

lets look at the facts, simple arithmetic . from when whyte took over in the early part of 2011 . you had debt to lloyds tsb, we know that because he borrowed from ticketus to pay it off . so we know you had no money to speak of in the bank, that's why murray sold it for a quid .

forget the wee tax case, forget the big tax case, start from scratch in june 2011, debt free, clean slate .

so from june 2011 when you started selling season tickets til the sale of season tickets this year, which has to last you til may next year 2014 , that is 36 months . the first year you were still in spl . £20m last year and this year { prices frozen } so £10m per year = £40m .

lets give you 10,000 paying at the gate every game over and above season books . so 60 games = 600,000 @ £15 about £1m and that's being generous, remember concessions . your t.v. money over this period? going to be generous again, i'll give you £2m . shirt sponsors, track side advertising, half time draws etc . i'm generous to a fault, i'll give you £5m a year . so that's 40 + 1 + 2 + 15 = 58 . the first year you went out of both european competitions before the end of august . don't think you have got past xmas in either cup and didn't do too well in the ramsdens last year . so we can round it up to £60m or if you want £20m per year .

right, the last published accounts, your's not mine . said the running costs were £3.2m per month . losing £1m per month . and since then super ally has added at least 6 new players with more to come so that could rise to £3.5m per month . starting from september .

3.5 times 36 = £126m
3.2 '' 36 = £115m
3.0 '' 36 = £108m
2.5 '' 36 = £90m
2.0 '' 36 = £72m

so over the period from june 2011 til may 2014, 36 months . if we believe your accounts @ £3.2m per month running costs, you have a £55m black hole .

yes you got money for the boy that went to southamton and no doubt pb and pob { who said this was a business plan } and the likes, will try to justify this madness , with nonsense like ''we payed off football debts '' and bought the big ed house .
so before they do . yes ok let's say £5m . which over 36 months is about £140,000 per month .which still leaves your running costs at over £3m per month. even if it was £10m you spent still leaves about £2.8 per month, which over 36 is more than £100m

so to sum up even with the share issue £22m + your £60m income over three years you have to get your monthly outgoings down to £2.2m .
one million pound per month . makes you wonder does it not, was the share issue counted in to the loss and is already spent, my guess would be yes, it's gone!

TICK . TOCK . TICK . TOCK . TICK

don't believe any of this rubbish in msm about who is leaving or coming just for example regarding big vic they state 10m bid from Southampton then as you read on it mentions 6 other clubs may bid.

also last week before we signed balde they stated crystal palace were about to steal him then after he signs for us they run a story stating crystal palace have never heard of him which one is true....

the difference with the oldco and hearts was oldoc rangers still attempted to win the title even trying to buy in players had proper admin been applied they could have been saved but alas cheated to the end I think hearts will achieve a cva as hmrc are not main creditors thus ensuring all history etc is saved

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cheated to the end yeah because all we wanted was to win the league I'm just happy I still have a team to support mate although I still don't agree how it's being run we seem to get all the Vultures swarming around our boardroom & it's so unfair on our loyal fans I'd turn up to watch a team of boys & support them proud but unfortunately it's not turned out that way stop trying to rub salt in the wounds & concentrate on your own club & its nice new signings. Congrats on the Dutch lad if u get the deal over the line today looks a special Talent & another great peice of Transfer Business from the Scottish Champions I can feel another Few big CL nights at Parkhead and I mean that sincerely I like to see young Talent come into Scottish football because our game badly needs it also think Calvin Zola will be Aberdeens top goal scorer in the past 10 years great capture by Mccinnes.

With big Ambrose still playing in Confederations Cup, I hope he has a decent tournament and some English team puts in a bid. He cannot be trusted at back and will come back tired after having no pre season break, we all remember the last time he came back "tired" against Juventus.
So any bid around £4m take it and use it to bring in younger better centre half. Timalloy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe we can get some trialists to fill-in for the first few games? ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how folks forget the many many times Efe saved our skins in CL, cups and SPL last season. Only the Juve game is recalled which is 100% Neil Lennons blunder for playing him. Neil showed his managerial inexperience on that call and has owned up to it. Most CL and UK managers and commentators view that situation as NL's wrong call.
Efe is a great player for Celtic and African international champion, get off his back.

Agree0 Disagree0

4 Million? I would take the 800k we paid for him and be happy we dodged a bullet. He's mince.

If Celtic have any future plans for this guy at the club he will need to be played in midfield maybe in front of the back 4 but certainly not at centre half or right back.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was skinned by the wee Tahiti winger a couple of times and failed to defend the back post for their goal.
He did do well in many games, but he made mistakes in most - and never learned from them - being a bit too casual and over-confident too often.
I would keep him as a squad player, but he would have to improve his concentration and awareness.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

I know you can't believe everything you see on youtube but this lad Virgil van Dijk looks to be a real talent all over the pitch. He's a great age, he's got experience in the Dutch U-21 squad and he seems to be full of enthusiasm.
He's in Glasgow as we speak for talks and if we get this one across the line for something like £2m-£3m then it looks like an excellent piece of business.

It's been a while since we tapped into the Asian market. Lots of good emerging talent over there!

Ki and Nakamura were major successes, do think Celtic will have a look over there this summer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nakamura and ki yes what abt du wei Koki mozuno cha du ri

Agree0 Disagree0

Koki had talent but was too slight for the game here. He should have bulked himself up like Naka had to do. He admits himself he blew the biggest chance of his career by not making it at Celtic. (seen it in an interview he done a few years ago)

As for Cha, well John Park can't always get it right lol

He was a free transfer though so not the worst signing ever.

So the deal for the Dutch bhoy will be concluded tomorrow hope to be a good signing! Seems from what iv read to have had a good season in holland with good youth pedigree at international level hope he's the answer to our forever going defensive problems.i would like to see another cb and winger and forward if/when hooper goes think rogic will fill the role of cam for us next star in the making.
