I put out a list of players positions which we may need but without lioking at the returning players from out on loan. Hendry Shved Robinson Bayo etc from all accounts Hendry has done well could be worth a look in pre season In fact all the above should be looked at in pre season so we might not be needing as many as i first thought.

You'll get great odds Rich on any of those players listed getting anywhere near the Celtic first team - ever.

20 Feb 2021 23:58:20
That's a few shouts I've seen for Bayo to get a chance. If we were linked with a 5 goal striker from a Ligue 2 side - who isn't even a regular starter - I doubt any of us would be best pleased.

Agree3 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 01:24:04
Hendry won't be back, belgian club he is at plan to sign him before end of loan.

Shved won't be back either, serious attitude problem.

21 Feb 2021 06:40:23
Kevbhoy could see your point especially an un fit Bayo because the the club he went to said that he was not upto speed in terms of fitness but a fully fit Bayo buzzing about at this moment is better option than Ajeti Bayo gives more energy i think kalmala shouldve went out on loan instead of Bayo Edouard and Bayo wouldve been interesting just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 08:19:52
Your right rich ajeti will not do and bayo might be worth a shout, klimala deff won't do a blind man can see he needs to go on loan and get games or ount him. it boils down to an absolute fortune down rhe drain on strikers.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 09:18:37
Bayo should have had a run.
The new lads have made us better and bayo up front with eddy would work. But Lenny as usual does not know how to get the best out of certain players who just need shown a better way. As ajeti 4 million + whst did they see in him to spend that amount of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 09:23:58
I like ajeti, what I think that's happened is, he was scoring goals then eddy came back in and ajeti got dropped, that must have pissed him off and I think that's the problem right now. Lennon sticks with his faves and doesn't give the new guys a chance or when he does it's one game here and there they don't get a run of games to get their form back. We need to give these guys a fair crack of the whip because they will be here when eddy is gone. So start playing the guys who still want to be here not the ones working their ticket. Just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 09:39:49
The one issue I have with players being dismissed as not good enough is this that none of these players have had any sort of consistent run in the team, when they have been thrown in, it was usually when too many fringe players were put in to a skeleton team at the time and with a clueless, inept management overseeing them. Would prefer them to be slotted into a strong line up that was doing well not thrown in for 15 minutes to turn a round an impending poor result and then deemed not good enough. This apples to our younger players as well.
It also can’t be a coincidence how players going out on loan being deemed unfit. This management team has a lot to answer for. Get it some won’t make the grade but at least give them a reasonable chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 10:00:23
Know some things seem better looking back, but remember the days we made a signing put them straight in the team, fans were excited, the new player was on a high and the club had an idea of what they had bought. Now we spend millions, leave them to stew on the sidelines for months, then throw them into a rubbish performing team and when they can’t turn things around, slag them off, send them out on loan then sell them for a loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 10:58:49
Chasaboy, Bayo specifically was never given a run because every time an opportunity came up he was injured. I'm not saying anyone who would give him another shot is wrong but I genuinely find it quite interesting that you could take a guy like Bayo and a lot of guys want to give him a chance but if you plucked another name who's had an almost identical career the same people would likely dismiss him out of hand. I'm probably guilty of it myself.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 13:34:47
Bayo is terrible. His second touch is a tackle on the oppositions striker. can't believe he is even being discussed. Think there was an option to buy clause in his loan. Let's hope whatever diddy team he is at are foolish enough to take it up.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Feb 2021 14:11:59
Bayo was another Lawell cheap punt and hope signing, to go along with the other two dozen duds he brought. the sooner his cheapskate backside is out the door, onky then will we have a chance to be prepared for a CL qualification, the main prize financially which misfur8ng pistol has failed to do 75% of the last 12 attempts. Great businessmen thst misses the biggest market so often? Yeah right.

Have we signed the lad Liam Shaw or not? Our transfer policy and the communication with fans is a disgrace. Does anyone know what happening with him? First Lennon said he had signed then refused to confirm it. WTF is going on? Incidentally the lad has just been sent off for Sheff Weds. HH.

I can’t help but cringe for Kris Boyd,
He struggles to talk properly and is constantly getting himself mixed up on Gillette Soccer Saturday.
I know he’s got a big mouth but I still think he’s got too many teeth, which is causing him problems with his speech.

I was saying to the mrs earlier, imagine being blind and listening to his commentary. You wouldn’t even know the score of the game, he starts on one subject and goes onto another mid sentence. Every other commentator has about a minute to tell you what’s happening, he takes about 4 to explain someone has a corner 🙈.

Why is it always left to lennon to come out and defend our club against the goverment and sfa. He either should say nothing or the full club should back him in what he's saying because clearly what he's saying isn't just his opinion it must be that of the clubs in general. So it be nice to see a statement fro the chief executive.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2021 18:29:09
Lennon has his faults but speaks his mind when defending the club. Our Board should have called out Staunch Sturgeon and Sevconian Media about their hypocrisy.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 19:48:22
Can't argue with that, our Board have a pathetic record of standing up for itself (unless it's to criticize our own support) and time after time the media, detractors, politicians and the establishment have said and done anything they like to our club without fear of repercussion or even an assertive stance. NL calls it like it is and our Board quiver behind secret agreements and dodgy deals.

20 Feb 2021 13:05:46
Regarding mickey Johnson since he came back he's been awful, he needs to kick on, but for me he doesn't look like he's hitting the gym enough, big Welsh just done a piece stating that he's bulked up and I know mikey is slight but he can still do more imo he has ability but sometimes u need more than that.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2021 13:42:47
Mally, Mickey might have all the tricks and some pace but unless he builds himself up physically then he has no chance. The lad is way too light to play first team football. He gets knocked off the ball every time he plays no matter who we play. In any derby game l have seen him in he can't deal with the physicality side of the game. For me the lads is too light and needs to seriously build himself to compete at this level.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 15:14:54
Agree ter not sure he'll make it long term unless he knuckles down.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 16:06:04
Always thought he was overrated. Could be doing with a year away on loan like Christie and Ajet to see how he gets on with regular game time. I suspect he won't make the grade at us.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 16:06:59
He should be miles ahead in his development, career and experience considering his time at the club but injury has hampered progress.
I have my doubts that he will ever establish himself, although as I said in an earlier post - a new manger may get him back on track, but toughening/ bulking-up like KT and even Klimala should be his priority.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 16:47:45
He is far too weak. He needs to build up or he will never reach the potential he has. You look at him the wrong way and he falls over. Worked for Christie.

20 Feb 2021 18:24:22
Only player at the club more over rated than johnstone is rogic. That bhoy is just another GMS.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 20:11:31
Johnson reminds me a lot of wee Brian McLaughlin who played under Mccari then Burns, he has the skill but far to weak and only managed 70 something games in 7 years.
He has some really nice touches but won't come to anything.

20 Feb 2021 08:05:54
Morning ED, what's the chances in your opinion of us trying again to get big ajer nailed down on a new contract, or has that ship definitely sailed? Out the players we've heard that want out I'd only keep him and edouard although I know edouard will go, but for me out of like of rogic, christie, ajer etc that we've heard wanting out, for me big ajer gives everything every game whereas the others for me by and large are going through the motions. I'd love the big man to stay on as keeping him would be a big start to what undoubtedly will be a massive overhaul in the playing squad.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - We've been trying to get Ajer & Edouard to extend their deals for the past 12 - 18 months but neither is looking likely to sign. Maybe if we appoint the right manager to peak Ajer's interest he might fancy an extension and staying another year.}

20 Feb 2021 13:14:22
I totally agree as the 'right' manager will not only play the players in their best positions, he will also get our star players back to their best form; plus coach and develop the young kids the right way.
Not to mention attract better players in the future?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 22:14:11
all everybody on here want a messiah be all and everything a new manager who will coach all the young players coming through the senior players like christe jonhstone to be better players play in a position that suits them who is that person all top managers want ready made players that is why all the top leagues have foreign players and keep changing personel the old saying watch what you wish for.

Hi Ed007, I hope you are well, I know our new CEO DM will have loads on his "to do list" and raising revenue now to rebuild will be vital, he was involved with the SRU when renaming Murryfield and getting a massive sponsorship deal, I think in the region of £20M in 2014, do you think he will look to do a similar deal with Celtic Park?
I'd love a link up with a company with a "Celtic connection" like Guinness, Who would you folks want as a stadium sponsor?
Hail Hail and KTF🍀.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'd have no problem with us selling naming rights to Celtic Park and I'm surprised it's not been seriously looked at before but I've no idea if McKay will look to do it.
It won't be Guinness - they aren't as stereotypical "Irish" as people think - and as long as it's not something tacky and definitely not a gambling company.
If you search Guinness on the site you'll find an April Fool's spoof I done a few years that took in a & upset lot of people.}

Reports are suggesting Celtic are planning fresh contract talks with Ryan Christie.
I don’t think Ryan wants to stay under the current management team but he could be open to signing, depending on who the new manager will be.
Ryan will be entering his last season under contract which means Celtic won’t get much of a transfer fee for him.
I think it would be a good piece of business if we could get him to sign an extended contract.
Ryan is at a good age of 25 and he will continue to improve.
It’s been a poor season for Christie, similar to the majority of his teammates.
Being played out of position on the right to cover Forrest hasn’t helped his case and has resulted in Ryan only scoring 2 goals from inside the box from open play this season.
Normally Christie would be scoring goals galore with well timed runs into the box.

Headless chicken who has hit the target with less than 5% of his shots this season. Which is amazing considering he shots about 20 times per game.

20 Feb 2021 10:49:09
Struggle to see where Christie fits into our team. He could maybe be turnbulls backup next season?

Hopefully one of his shots ends up in the corner at Wembley. Would bank 20m for that!

20 Feb 2021 11:02:32
Buzz I think you have hit the nail on the head It's not that Celtic players have stopped playing its they are getting played out of position that makes them not as effective as they can be and should be We have good players better than any other team in the league IMO but poor management as in position and Em formations don't help.

Agree2 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 11:14:15
How many times has the side been chopped and changed? How many times have players been asked to fit, in neither their best position or formation? How many times have subs been shuttled on randomly, with baffling effect on the team and support alike? How can any team perform consistently well and gain confidence in that environment?

Agree3 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 11:26:49
Auf NL has tried to make Christie his Kris Commons. The shoot on sight policy he seems to have must be coming from the management team. He'll be back to his best under a competent manager.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 11:39:36
Agree with Auf1888 there, should be nowhere near deadball situations and his wanting to shoot constantly means he gets a worldy every now and again which people remember rather than rest of his game, not for me to slight and Turnbull already twice the player he is.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2021 11:47:52
Agree Buzz and I think whoever is coming in to replace NL is key to someone like Christie signing.
Worst case scenario is he resigns, still fancies the bright lights and then get's punted for good money.
