Overall we have to be happy with 1-1. Jullien was immense, Ajer is better at RB he gives me the fear at CB. Hayes done well, can't understand why he gets stick always gives 100% wherever he plays. Ntcham was at fault for their goal, he should've passed square instead of trying to do some daft fancy turn. Christie was also guilty of poor touches. Frimpong is just legs offers nothing else.
Shved needs to be brought in to offer competition to either Forrest or Moi as both are passengers at the moment.

Ajer is not a RB and never will be. Frimpong is a cracking prospect but looked like he was missing match fitness. Hayes is the most limited footballer in the squad but he defended well enough tonight tbf. If Shved was good enough he'd be in around the squad not playing reserve games.

Would have took a score draw before kick off but the way we dominated first half a bit gutted we didn't win. big julien again outstanding, I thought forest played ok, Christie's first start in a while I think it's either him or ntcham, not both srarting. big eddy's finish oozed class but could have had a couple more. well confident for next week last 16 since 2004. when our manager was playing in the hoops, "ONLY ONE NEIL LENNON "

21 Feb 2020 01:52:15
I agree ntcham was a passenger tonight, I was crying out for lennon to bring him off. He's probably the most frustrating player (bar rogic) for years. How can u go from class to crap in such a short space of time? Not good enough on that showing.

Good away result. The wall again saved the day. Thought their keeper had a good game too. Hopefully he has a shocker next one😁.

I thought for an away leg against a decent side that we played really well first half. I felt relaxed and was saying to my son that one more goal to kill the tie would do me. Second half we were both nervous wrecks. I think you have to give credit to Copenhagen to though. If the game continued the way it was in the first half then they were looking like going out of Europe. The manager has obviously told them that and they rolled the sleeves up and put in a monumental effort. I think Broonie going off didn't help as he might have dragged us back into the game but Bitton coming on was like an empty Jersey In tube midfield. Happy I called 1-1 on here but not happy I put 2-1 on when it came to it! We will go through if we match there work rate . If we don't we wont. We.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2020 23:58:39
I've said it before Bitton is not Celtic quality. I'm confident we can beat them at home. Even with them being the better team in the 2nd half we still had the better chances.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2020 01:55:24
Its worrying how weak the midfield is without broony. We should stop wasting our money on guys like bayo and kouassi and spend it on cloning broony. Job done 👍.

20 Feb 2020 21:03:55
Feel like I have to give massive credit to big jullien by the way! The big man was outstanding tonite yet again! Everything in the air and deck won all evening by the big man, a real rock in our defence! Looked out of sorts when broony went off but had enough chances to win comfortably! Got really sloppy In the 2nd half and left an average Copenhagen get a foothold in the game. would have took 1-1 before the game but and I’m confident of winning the home game 👍🏼.

Julien was immense never missed a thing and used baĺl well.

He’s turned into a real leader for us mate! Like u said mally he was immense!

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 22:22:12
I hope Broony will be OK as we looked very shaky without his presence although I agree Jullien was immense and covered Ajer very well.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2020 00:00:16
Jullien was outstanding tonight. Pity Ajer couldn't match it. He looked really uncomfortable at times and lost his man for their goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 21:03:53
I thought Christie was very poor tonight, I think he needs a run off games. Hayes was good first half but he looked very very leggy second half and they has far too much room down the right. I still fancy us too win comfortably second leg if we created the same amount of chances as tonight. I thought big french Chris was outstanding!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2020 21:22:27
Thought Christie was average no use on the right but his touch is terrible just now losing the ball too much.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 22:02:40
I was thinking the same about Christie needing more game time. I would play him from the start on Sunday against Killie to try and recapture his sharpness.
I thought the referee helped make it a good game by trying to keep the play flowing but he was very harsh with Christie’s yellow card. That’s another suspension.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 22:25:34
Christie was being caught in possession and easily muscled off the ball and wasn't his usual creative self, but yes, he does need games.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 22:41:08
Christie isn't available now for the away leg, so I'd play someone else for sharpness.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 22:46:59
No brown no Christie maybe a chance for sorro/ bitton and moi to take their chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2020 00:01:51
Too early for Sorro I'd say. Bitton's had plenty of chances in a Celtic shirt - never been good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Feb 2020 01:58:53
I thought big jullien was average tonight, don't see why anyone would single him out for praise.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Feb 2020 09:33:32
I too thought Jullien was brilliant last night. Some of his tackling was top class and timed to perfection under pressure. I hope he continues to play this way and continues to improve as he looks an absolute bargain for the £7m we paid for him. A fairly modest sum in modern terms I suppose, but a lot for a scottish club to pay. We did get one of France's best young defenders with a fair amount of top league experience though. its not like we wasted that sort of money on an epl youth team cast off with no top league experience and a crap right hook.

Excellent first half but dipped in second. Confident Celtic will score 2 or 3 in the return leg.

Positives are 1-1 is always a good away result. 1st half excellent, 2nd half poor but they didn't really work FF so credit defence, particularly Julien. My gripe is Boli and Bayo bench (£4.5m) and Klimala and Soro (5.5m) not deemed even good enough for squad. The first two will ever cut it, as for the other two, early days but doesn't look good. Bayo is no great shakes (that is a generous view) and Klimala is behind him. Got vibes of Kouasi with both signing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Feb 2020 00:03:15
Too early to. judge the 2 new guys but Bolingoli and Bayo look like a waste of money.

20 Feb 2020 20:19:41
Strange kind of game, could of won it comfortably but on the other hand could of easily lost it with the penalty. A classic game of two halfs but i"ll take 1 each, I'm sure we"ll take a few off them back at Paradise.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2020 19:58:05
A bit frustrated with that as I think it's a wee bit of a missed opportunity. A bit more clinical and better decision making in the final third next time please. A bit less sloppy in our own half as well by the way. Star man was probably Jullien for me, he seemed to win most things thrown at him. Telling. On a plus note that's an alright score to be taking from an away game and I'm comfident that if we play a little bit sharper we can win this tie at Paradise.

Ajer is a poor defender but julien was immense. ntcham was awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 20:25:29
Think a good few of us see Ajer as a player - but not a central defender. I know some say he is learning, but that is over 200 games (17 with Killie) and he is still making errors, pulling jerseys and being rash. He is much better going forward and could be a star.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 22:14:17
Agree, he is a great player but not even a good defender. He can defend if he plays in our league, but clever and experienced attackers find him out. If by 200 games he is still learning then he isn’t someone we should rely upon as a defender. Holding mid, maybe?

1 nil the Hoops tonight.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2020 17:03:29
So from that line up we can assume that Lennon thinks Hayes is better than Bolingoli and that Forrest is a better left winger than Elyounoussi. The predictably of this is typical Lennon. He stands by his favourites no matter what. I love Forrest but he is not better on the left than Moi and Christie is nowhere near as good on the right as Forrest, bewildering. I know this may seem negative but I'd rather say it now and end up with egg on my face than say it in hindsight.

Domestic dominance for me is always a priority - as with that you get the bonus of European football automatically and hopefully progressively as the players gain confidence/ experience, as we have shown so far winning a hard group.

The way I look at it; if we get knocked out - then it's the end of the Sunday-Thursday cycle with the early kick-offs and travelling and we focus on retaining our trophies.
However, If we keep up our winning momentum and go as far as we can - it rebuilds our reputation in Europe and maybe helps to keep our better players at the club and even attract more quality in the window?
Any way, it's a win-win for me.

Can't see Frimpong and Forest both starting. Leaves us light defensively and that was what cost us at Ibrokes. I'd play Ajer or Bauer at RB. And Christie for Griff. Score draw will do for me. Nrageb must be worth a punt tonight?

Bolingoli must play tonight. Jonny Hayes has been utterly dreadful, way worse than Bolingoli has been at any point this season. Bolingoli has had a couple of difficult games this season, no doubt but was outstanding at Ibrox and in Rome. Lennon will pick Hayes though because err he's a good lad, apparently.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2020 10:07:49
Lennon will pick Hayes because he's twice the left back Boli is. Yes Hayes was poor against Aberdeen but overall he has been solid for us.

20 Feb 2020 11:04:54
I'd have hayes over bolingoli all day long, but id rather go 3-5-2.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 11:16:17
I actually quite like Boli. He seems to get slaughtered for being out of position and being direct, whereas Frimpong gets heralded as the Messiah for being attacking and Taylor gets lauded for being up the park and being caught out of position.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 11:38:37
Agreed MGC19
BOLI is not a natural defender imo but I would play him before Hayes. Boli, his workrate is phenomenal but Lenny seems to want him to be everywhere. Play two positions every week. He's also direct I like that. Plus he looks as if he enjoys it.
Watched the Celtic colts. Time for dumbelle lads to come to the big boys he's ready. HH.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 12:27:28
The prob with boli is in possession in our 3rd he's a bombscare wee Jonny gets rid of it that's the difference.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 12:48:57
Frimpong slows our play down by coming back with the ball too often, Ajer best performances have been at RB. Jullien and Biton is our best CB pairing imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 13:51:14
Bolingoli has had maybe 3 or 4 good performances since he joined. Its a tough one but would play hayes and hope he performs like he did away to lazio.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 14:17:53
Sorry but in my opinion Hayes should never be near the bench never mind on the pitch for Celtic Yes bolingoli has had some difficulty settling in and playing consistently but bloody hell Jonny Hayes is absolute dug meat the amount of time he totally sclaffs a pass out for a shy or to the opposition well I've lost count.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 14:31:20
Hayes has been solid! *scratches head.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Feb 2020 16:56:11
Hayes is the worst player in that 1st team squad. Bolingoli isn't far off him but should be picked ahead of Hayes every time.

I remember as a youngster the last time Celtic won in Denmark. We played brilliant to beat Aarhus 4-1 in 1983.I remember Celtic played in the popular lime green away strip for the first time that night. The last time Celtic played in the lime green strip was when we hammered St. Mirren 5-0 in 1986 to pip Hearts to the title.3 seasons later.
