Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Joe Ledley put in a transfer request that was rejected at the start of the transfer window. As time went on celtic accepted the first decent
offer they received . This has come directly from Lawwell. Hail hail

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Stop saying things came from Lawwell. No it didn't!

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you personal friends with Lawell?

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently "Pedro" is Anton's neighbour. I can't imagine PL being the kind of guy who gets called Pedro, I can imagine him demanding to be called Mr Lawwell before Pedro.

{Ed007's Note - He likes to be called 'Eternal Leader' in the hope it will lead to us all honouring his memory for eternity.}

Just reading a wee story bout Joe Ledley on Celtic rumoursnow and basically he's saying he was prepared to sign a contract until celtic accepted the offer off crystal palace. Pretty gutted as we're thread bare in there now and we're not/won't replace him as a player of that calibre fall into the 6 million mark. Thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Johansen will do nicely for me . I did like Ledley but I'm not swallowing this bull that he was ready to sign a contract when all of sudden CP came in for him . The contract was on the table for months why wait till a couple of hours before the deadline to sign it . Ledley knew what he was doing and played NL and Celtic like fiddle to suit his own ends . If he loved Celtic and the fans the way he is going on about now he would have signed on the dotted line months ago . Samaras is another one who IMO is seriously taking the p!ss . When Celtic went for that hard earned rest in Turkey NL sent him home to Greece to mull over the contract and give him an answer . February and we, re still waiting . 3 weeks ago NL gave him a fortnight for an answer . Still waiting and he was rewarded with a starting place in the cup debacle . I honestly hope he never signs again as I don't think I could take watching him not being bothered on a park again . DH

Agree0 Disagree0

If joe was going to sign then why didn't he?. ayee he was ah great player but biton looks lyk he's more than capable to fillin this slot. dunno why he says it when its too late. we couldn't let him go for freein the summer. anyways bring on the jambos HH

Queenslie we will defos miss Joe Ledley, a cracking player who was very underrated by some of the posters on this site but a very good player he was. Will be gutted if this is true. A Welsh International (one of their best), Defensive Mid or Attack Mid and Scoring Left back. Any of those positions could be filled by Joe, a steal for anyone at £6M . Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to agree with DH, if he wanted to stay at Celtic then he would still be a Celtic player.

He is a miss in midfield but we need to give Biton and Stefan a few games, they seem to be showing good potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree DH, my big fear is he signs a new contract then Lennon goes and a new manager comes in and won't rate him, which is very likely, then we're stuck with him on big wages.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Mrs E. He was never going to sign. We got him when he ran down his contract, CP got him just before he ran down his contract and his next team will no doubt get him in similar circumstances. The common thing is that nobody is paying a large transfer fee and he is in the driving seat when negotiating his salary. having said all that, good luck to him, he was a good, consistant servant.

Agree0 Disagree0

@1), Well said.
Sammy is taking the pish. What disappoints me more is that Lenny is allowing him to do it. You could understand him was getting a game if his performances were quality but they're far from it.

Hail Hail

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly arrowh, he was seeing out his contract with Celtic as far as i’m concerned to. The offer was there to stay.

Totally agree, he was a good player for us and wish him all the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

He told Cardiff at the start of that season that he would leave if they didn't make the premier league so it was no a big secret like a lot of posters seem to think he never once said he wanted to leave and I believe he was pushed out Adam Mathews has said it to he isn't the first this has happened too and he won't be the last

Vote on on new poll asking Do you think Fraser Forster will go to the World Cup with England?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I said no, if the question was should he go I would say yes, but I don't think he will get picked.

Agree0 Disagree0

Football is a team game, so if he goes and does play, in this instance I hope he let's in a bagful

Agree0 Disagree0

He will definitely go just hope he doesn't make an @rse of it if called upon. he will be bit part if even played at all. Better he plays well if called
to help with his teansfer fee. NL and the player have both came out and said he will be leaving one way or another.

Morning Ed, hope you're well mate. Just reading everywhere about Forster and the world cup. How about a poll to see how many think he will go or will he be overlooked for those who play in England? Cheers .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'll get that set up Andy.}

Sammy turned down a nearly 10 million pounds contract, I hope this means he will be staying with us. Hopefully he regains his form next season and kicks on from there. I love watching the big man in the cl. I know most of you hate him but there's just something about the guy I like, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Did any of you watch the video on YouTube of why our players love Celtic? Sammys answer was the only one that actually came from the heart. Anyway this made my day. I'm so happy A.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Al never understand what u see in him tbh. He's worse than a man down for all the years he's been here he's had 1 decent cl run and 2 goals at ibrox that's it. He probs loves celtic because he wouldn't get away with his lazy attitude at any other team he gets an easy ride up here. The fact lenny said he's the type of player who get's managers the sack just sums him up for me

Agree0 Disagree0

If Sammy could recreate last years European form and bring it every week then yes I'd love him to stay BUT that's never going to happen. He's a lazy player who is not interested in digging in. Bye bye Sammy and thanks for your service. Time to give the other boys a chance!

I know a lot of you will moan, but how can we possibly say Darren Fletcher is captain of the Scotland national team? I really do not rate him and feel the team would flourish more under the new captain Scott Brown.

Anyone any thoughts?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In my opinion, Broony shouldn't be the captain of Celtic or Scotland, end of story.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would you have then HB out of the current Celtic team?

I like Darren Fletcher so have no issues with him captaining Scotland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hamiltonbhoy, I think Broony is a fantastic captain. I think recently he's been injured and not playing great, but his attitude is always spot on in my books!

Agree0 Disagree0

@1 Now I wonder why you think that way?
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hb every post of yours kinda turns my stomach mate! You call yourself a fan but all you do is slag the team, player, board and then you moved onto the fans. I literally have no idea how one person could become so bitter. Get a grip mate seriously. If broonie looses the arm band ill be gutted, he has been a fantastic captain for both club and country the guy is a natural leader! Stracken needs to leave him as captain.

Agree0 Disagree0

@2 Right now, out the current players fit there isn't a captain among them. Possibly Virgil after a couple of seasons. I think Lustig seems like a real quality leader though.

@3 As I said, it's my opinion. Just like you have yours.

@4 Because I don't believe someone who can't remain calm or composed in a heated situation is fit to be the captain of a team. He's their leader and role model, getting caught up in the moment and sent off or in to a scuffle isn't an example to be setting to fellow teammates.

@5 Get off your high horse. I've stated my opinion, I may be in a minority but at the end of the day - it's my opinion, I won't ever agree with someone to keep others happy or to fit in with the crowd. So you keep accepting commercialisation over football, scrappy wins over entertainment, fan harrassment over freedom of speech and overall mediocrity - while I'll continue to be ambitious and dream that one day Celtic will be a great club again and those in charge will regognize the potential of speculating to accumulate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Darren bhoy HB is right why do people constantly bang on about him being a leader, when he is fit he rarely does anything to create or inspire the team other than the odd tackle which should not be enough to make you the captain of the greatest club in the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

We sold our true leader and most consistent player in January: Joe Ledley.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm happy to have Broonie as captain of Celtic but couldn't care less who captains or plays for Scotland. I will leave that for the tartan army to worry about.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with HB don't like brown as a captain of celtic I'd give the arm band to Lustig or VVD who show composure in every match I've seen them play
