On a more light hearted note(well light hearted to most bar the mob) Only the front of Ibrokes is listed ,so shouldnt it be " the big wall must stay and thats the bottom line " TTTS {Ed007's Note - Because Stone Cold says so.......... damn, wrong site :-)

Evening Ed007 I've been watching sly spurts tonight and its looking like Portsmouth won't last the week!
I had a thought why does Desmond not buy portsmouth declare them dead! Rename them Glasgow Celtic football club
And move us to The English championship or if it has to be division one we will walk both of they leagues then we will finally launch ourself into the premiership and with the tv they get we will be fighting for the top 6 in no time
Who needs Rangers we can play against the likes of Man united and Liverpool every week!
What do you think Ed could it ever happen?

Gazcfc21 {Ed007's Note - No.}

@Gazcfc21;im sure a few years ago there was a rumour desmond looked into it when wimbledon went bust.......green jhedi

Mrs.E its just it seems all day everyday on here about Rangers. I would have thought you would all be singing and dancing about as good as winning the league and looking as though you will do the treble.
JFT96
Smithy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Surely you must see why Celtic fans have a song & dance about it ? Given how may points we went behind at the start of the season and the 'mind the gap' jokes 4iar nae dough etc.

We will celebrate when we actually win it ! Got my tickets today for the league cup final...hope your right about the treble & I hope Liverpool do the cup double to complete my season ~ Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree0

It;s hard to dance when your full of jelly and ice cream.........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Plenty of time for all of that smithy you can be assured of it(royston rd myself) and your the second on here having a pop at oor wee MRS.E must make you feel like a man,kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - I don't think he was having a pop at her KB. Smithy is cool for an LFC fan mate, chillax. At this rate Mrs E will be getting hubby washing and ironing or she will set 'the troops' on him!!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry ed just thought it was another current having a pop at oor wee MRS.E,have read a couple of them on at her.just picked it up wrong to much sugar(nice aswell),kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - Stop smoking 'sugar' ;-)

LOL thanks ed _;kb-bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you kb ! They do try to argue but i'm always right anyway ;-). What have you been doing with sugar lol ? Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Best lady on the forum and ed i posted something about alex salmond a while ago and you said on that post that that you gave good massages,i think that was what it was and was just wondering if you ever got round to the offer you gave MS.E??kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - It was Ed002 who was bragging about my skills at giving bed baths and massages, she has been warned to behave in future. I never offered Mrs E anything!!!! I am (happily honest) married and the Mrs part kind of suggests so is she!!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just like that old saying ed. Am happily married. Am happy and she's married. ;). A wee joke ed b4 I head off. Why do women turn the light off when there having sex?? They hate seen a man enjoying themselves...... Good night everybody. Bigirishmac ;) {Ed007's Note - Night BIM, take care.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I`m just chilling with the sugar MRS.E ma big mate i`ve worked with for a few years now(rangers supporter)lost his job today and it seemed it was just to much, grown man reduced to tears, ah felt a bit s**t as we`ve been at each other for years now recently though he`s been getting most of the windups.bigmans got morgage and family aswell anyhow enough oh that jell and ice-cream,kb-bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope your mate gets another job soon kb, it can be a huge worry! I'm actually married to a rangers supporter so I don't do too much dancing about it in the house and i'm a bit too sensible to be walking down the streets celebrating rangers demise. Enjoy your sugar ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed just 1 last thing,how does 002 know about your bed baths and massages and i wouldn`t think mrs.007 would be a little p1553d to say the least ,lol,kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - It's complicated ;-)

Lol Ed, imagine what the Man Utd stewards thought of me when I arrived at OT in my Luis Suarez top and my Uruguay flag last month lol. Do you think any Rangers first team players will be released tommorow mate? I can see a few U19's going with a squad bigger than the first teams and I think they'll struggle to make it because of it.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - I think there will be some first team players let go Smithy, some of the bigger wages need to go. Be prepared for a backlash from our resident Tartan Army diehards over Uruguay, 1986 is still a touchy subject with the older members :-)

why did Walkers make everyone eat Cheese n Onion crisps out a blue packet and Salt n Vinegar out of green packets?
they have a lot to answer for due to this and causing the troubles in our life these days

Banter all banter

Lubo25 {Ed007's Note - That is one of the mysteries of the modern world Lubo, I think they done it just to be different, I can't think of any other reason. I am not a great chocolate eater (I'm sweet enough) but more your wine gums/sports mixtures guy, what I always wondered was who the feck ever came up with the idea that liquorice was a sweet?}

Hi Ed. Big shout out to all the celts that raised above watp gang and told the decent rangers fans that we wouldn't gloat over their ordinary people losing their jobs. I know it's not easy not to with the abuse we get but we have done the club proud and did me proud that's why am a celt because we can rise above the hatred. Hail hail a proud Irish celt. Of course not Ed mate people who bring up such things are disgusting and need to get a life. I was just making the point that not all Rangers fans are like that mate, and we all have stupid fans. I'm sure you get a number of Rangers "fans" trying to post disgusting things on here which is sickening that people are that stupid. Its why all football fans get bad names because of mindless idiots, I've been judged by stewards going away with LFC that I must be a thug. I'm just saying that I hope its just a minority of Rangers fans and no true fan would.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - I would like to think it is a minority on both sides now thankfully Smithy, most true Rangers fans are too worried about their own club to actually bother too much with CFC just now, or try to point score. Try getting into a Man Utd away match with a black SI jersey and black Lacoste hat on and see how stewards treat you ;-)

01 Mar 2012 20:55:23
Come on Ed mate all groups of fans have idiots. I'm sure you also get disgusting posts in from Celtic "fans" about the Ibrox disaster like Ed 001 said.I just think its harsh to talk about Rangers and there fans like that mate. All be it some are stupid. I understand they didn't care when you were in trouble so why should you but is gloating just being as bad as them? I hate Man United but I'd never rub it into my manc mates if they were in trouble as long as some Celtic fans have.
Just my opinion mate.
JFT96
Smithy {Ed007's Note - Yeah I do get alot of posts from CFC fans that I delete and ban the poster. Not as much now because people know I won't put up with it. If LFC were going down the tubes would you try to deflect from that by bringing up Munich? I doubt it mate, in fact I know you wouldn't.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Aw c'mon its been less than 3 weeks since they went in Administration, We've hardly been going on about it for long.

I'm actually a wee bit bored with it now, you can't buy a paper for rangers being on the front & back page. Mrs E

ed just a wee question mate?ma big mate that i work with got laid off today, i really so feel for the big man he was in tears (family,mortage ect...)do you think we`re taking things to far with them now ano a feel sorry about ma big mate but i remember the bigtime crap that we got from them when we were in trouble,kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - People losing their jobs is always a sad day no matter who they work for. Nobody is gloating over that and anyone who accuses CFC fans of doing so is miles wide of the mark IMO.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

@ed007; well we are getting accused of plenty of gloating mate! some mug tagged highland bear posted rubbish,and a load of annon posters saying the usual gtf stuff.all the decent regular guys appreciate the postings,knowing we mean it.............green jhedi {Ed007's Note - It's their way of deflecting to try to make CFC fans feel/look bad about it. No decent minded person wants to see anyone lose their job, that is not what CFC fans are gloating over in any way, shape or form. They are gloating over what looks like the death of a club loved by people who, as a club and fans, gloated over us for over 100 years with their WATP arrogance (which astoundingly they still have??????), our own money troubles in the 90's, their 9 IAR, their multi-million pound squad, every £5/£10 brag from their owner, laughing and singing about off field matters that range from tragic to horrific (I am still blocking Rangers fans with their idiotic posts about such things). If the shoe was on the other foot (1994??) would all the Rangers fans be worried about some wee lassie called Tracey from the CFC ticket office losing her job or would they be laughing their asses off and giving it the even bigger WATP?}

Agree2 Disagree0

Thanks ed n green jhedi,just looking at it a wee bit differently now yesterday i was ripping it out of him but today felt right sh**e for him, good guy wae a bad team,kb-bhoy {Ed007's Note - I hope your mate is lucky enough to find a new job KB. Two of my nephews and a LOAD of my mates lost their job when Harte went under at the turn of the year, it is never funny people losing their job, but that is not what CFC fans are laughing/gloating at.}

01 Mar 2012 15:41:00
While I have sympathy for ANYONE that may be about to lose a job. At the end of the day (an most people will agree) I am only really interested in me keeping my job. That said I do hope that ALL the people made redundant from them get jobs elsewhere as then they will be able to see just how rotten that club is. But this will NOT stop me from getting in my jibes, digs and gloating as the club deserve it and like it or not..... guilty by association.
I wish R*****s would just pay what they owe, sell what they have and just go away.
I would be happier without them that is for sure, the amount of pain they have caused me down the years.... through their cheating and evading!

Still laughing 16 days later.................................. jelly, Ice Cream and a we drop of Moet.
It will be alright, thanks to Whyte!

Absolutely charming

Billyboy1

We should pay the money we owe clubs yes. But theres no need to say that stuff about the gers. 1 or 2 idiots ruibed our great club. And look.. it wouldnt have made a great difference to our success if this hadnt happend, itll bring us more damage than good so syop been a d*ck. ive been as subtle as posible mate and im not trying to annoy anyone just defending my team.

Dtp89 {Ed007's Note - I have edited that. That is totally unacceptable and may I add totally unrelated to what is going on. You are lucky I haven't banned you if what I think you were insinuating is correct. And you have the arrogant cheek to come on here looking for any form of sympathy? It's a long hard look in the mirror you should take. It's Rangers fans like you that make even ordinary CFC fans have no sympathy or remorse what so ever for anything going on at Rangers, why should they? Payback's a b*tch Dtp89.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007;would love to have seen what he posted mate! nice blast though,cheers...........green jhedi {Ed007's Note - I'm sure a wise old Jhedi like you can work it out mate.}

Care to explain your claim ed? Were was i looking for sympathy? I have a gers page with fans that i can relate with if that was the case. I respect your descision to edit my post but dont put words in my mouth. And i dont bring any shame to anybody, ppl do that their self.

Dtp89 {Ed007's Note - Why did you say 'theres no need to say that about the gers'? Why shouldn't people say what they want about them, is it upsetting you reading bad things about your club? You hinted at something that is totally unacceptable and even if it was is nowhere near comparable to anything that is going at Rangers, it just shows how sad you really are to think like that, now I advise you to drop this, you know what I am talking about.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye not for ma sake. For the player etc.. that havent done anything to deserve it. Im not sad but i was in the wrong to imply it, and i appologise to anyone it offended, spur of the moment thing sorry. Ok its dropped.

Dtp89 {Ed007's Note - Ok no worries, it's wasn't your usual style Dtp, that's why I never banned you and only warned you. We'll forget about it.}

Just like to say as a Rangers fan, I have read a lot of comments from Celtic fans saying they don't care if Rangers are liquidated, have you really ever thought about the consequences for Sottish football ? I'm not being arrogant but think about it, if Rangers or Celtic were liquidated, obviously it's Rangers, there would be a loss in tv revenue, a loss in sponsors, it would get very boring very quickly playing poor teams week in week out & players, especially the foreign & best ones, would want a transfer. This would mean you wouldn't be able to sign decent players anymore, as even the fans would start to dwindle meaning less gate money & less money to pay decent wages, I know the problems at Ibrox are nothing to do with Celtic but if this is what most Celtic fans want, then you will be in for a shock & what "IF" Rangers became. Phoenix club & were reinstated to the English league & I know some fans will say what about Manchester etc but therebwould obviously have to be reassurances from Rangers or whatever they will be called, after all, Rangers sing secterian songs to annoy Celtic & vice versa but if this happened, Celtic wouldn't be down in England, so the fans then wouldn't sing those vile songs.

Believable0 Unbelievable11

Yeah newco rangers start up in england with no stadium players or money, youll rake it in.

Agree4 Disagree1

You'll have too start about 3rd level of conference league yeah you will rake in the cash

Agree3 Disagree1

The FA and the Police in England will NEVER allow rankers into their leagues. You's can't even be trusted to play friendlies down there!

If, as you claim, rankers only sing there to annoy Celtic fans, why do you sing them in Europe?

Personally i don't care what happens to your insignificant club. Celtic will prosper for the next ten years as we are financially well off, and we have a squad full of young promising players. These players could, if needed, be sold for a decent profit to aide the club. Bring on March 25th!

Jelly and ice cream for all!

Hey ed007 can you clarify for the OP that they wont be going to england ?

jimi88 {Ed007's Note - They won't be going to England.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Glad to see you think we have decent players

Agree0 Disagree0

Another arrogant current, yes it would be different league but don`t think for one minute we need yous or scottish football needs you,yes you would be a small lose but we(spl)would survive and other teams would prosper without yous not here as they could attract better players to play in europe so i think the league would prosper.as the song goes no one likes us we don`t care, but yous look for sypathy from everybody when things are going against yous,kb-bhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

And all that tainted title p155 wheres only one thing tainted in scotland and thats yous,kb-bhoy

Agree1 Disagree0

How funny would it be if a miracle did happen and Gers were allowed into England at the bottom level,they accept then we get an invite to the EPL?

Billyboy1

Billyboy1, thanks for that, all we can all hope is that Murray, Whyte etc get their comeuppance one day. Whyte just seems to have no conscience, as this is how he makes money, putting the wee guy on the dole, good luck with your club

Good Morning ED007, last night I was talking to my two young nephews
both Rangers fans, and it brought it home to me how it affects the genuine fan, they were almost in tears thinking their club could go bust, I was in the strange position of reassuring them their club would survive, albeit in a weaker form for a couple of years. I told them that people would probably step in and buy club once everything else settled, this seemed to help them come to terms with things. I have enjoyed my "shadenfreude" moment but now I will ease off the gloating as Rangers are low enough without any help from us tims. Karma has insured this.
Those people in charge of Rangers have let all their own fans down.
hail hail Timalloy

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Totally agree with you Tim when it was announced that they had gone into admin my young sister was in tears. Its all good fun with the banter but when you step back and look at the bigger picture it is so unfair on the genuine fans.

Ian(For every £1 Celtic spend Rangers will pay their creditors 10p)

Agree4 Disagree1

I think many of us (especially us of a more mature vintage) have Rangers fans as friends and Timalloy is making a good point. I actually cant bring myself to wind up one of my best mates because when the money men are exposed as cheats liars and possibly worse then the genuine hard working honest people are the ones getting the stick. The Murrays and Whytes of this world are so far up their own a**es that they dont give a crap about anyone or anything else but themselves their own bank balance power and money. Football for them is just an vehicle to massage their massive egos and their own self importance...I have to step back from a left wing rant at this point!!

Agree3 Disagree1

Exactly right.You have to feel for the decent rangers fans because we know how it feels.I hope the bigots and WATP idiots now realise they are not some kind of special case.I suppose a grain of comfort is that,for now,it seems to be playing/coaching staff going.You would think they will find new clubs,maybie even negotiate a good deal for themselves,rather than cleaners,tea ladies etc.I will be laying off the noise up's today as it dont feel right(unless poked with a stick!) Using my own mates as a gauge it seems it's finally sinking in that liquidation is a very real threat...........green jhedi

Agree3 Disagree1

Lads we all grew up with rangers fans as friends some went to school with them we drink in pubs with them and some of them are best friends when your older but there is still that crowd of them that are just so bitter sometimes it`s hard to feel sorry for them. don`t want liquidation but do want them to have to pay the price for their mismanagement,kb-bhoy

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Possibly Megregor, but only if the price is right. He is better than Cervi. Seriously was talking to some St Mirren Fans and they could only come up with Ross Perry. Oviously they could'nt pay wages for a Davis or McGregor but of the "affordable" players there was not one that looks better than what they have

New laws to punish those engaging in offensive behaviour at football come into force.

The Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act 2012 gives police and prosecutors additional tools to crackdown on sectarian songs and abuse at and around football matches and threats posted on the internet or through the mail.

The Act creates two new distinct offences, punishable through a range of penalties up to a maximum five years in prison and an unlimited fine.

The first offence targets "hateful, threatening or otherwise offensive behaviour" expressed at and around football matches which is likely to cause public disorder.

The second offence relates to the communication of threats of serious harm or which are intended to stir up religious hatred, whether sent by post or posted on the internet.

Community safety minister Roseanna Cunningham said the "overwhelming majority of football fans" have "absolutely nothing to fear from this legislation".

She said: "This legislation will have no impact on the banter and passionate support that goes hand in hand with supporting football teams.

"It is not about discouraging the competition and rivalry that is the lifeblood of football, it is about eradicating sectarianism and other unacceptable expressions of hate from our national game."

She added: "I am under no illusion, this legislation will not be the one-stop solution to all our problems and that is why I recently announced £9m over the next three years to continue work to tackle sectarianism across society.

"Attitudes change over time and this marks the beginning of the end of the shame that has blighted our glorious game for too long."

However, University of Abertay criminology lecturer Dr Stuart Waiton, who gave evidence to Holyrood's Justice Committee during
the early consideration of the Bill, has reiterated his fear that it will be a "snob's law".

He said: "The first thing to notice about this (Act) is that it specifically targets football fans and nobody else."00
