Ah, reckon I gave you too much credit there! Thought you might be referring to Louis Stewart (best Jazz Giitarist out of Ireland) . Didn't tipple to the obvious.

ED,

Listening to a John Kennedy interview on snyde1 supercannyscoreboard. They cut the interview short and then decided to continue telling you what big John said, apparently it was, " it's looking very likely that Paddy Roberts WONT be back next season. " What's your thoughts on this, if any.

I understand the source isn't great but I usually come to you anytime it isn't.

Believable0 Unbelievable4

{Ed007's Note - That's disappointing if true.}

01 Jun 2017 19:22:52
Agree disappointing but the Side that has been built is not dependent on PR-as long as no one is thinking Forrest or Hayes is even anywhere near like for like.

Massively dissappinted though I am I always thought Paddy staying was shorter odds than the Pope coming to visit Airdrie. The laddie is a very very special talent and we should maybe just be grateful for the time we had him with us. All the best for the future Patrick Joseph! ☘️.

The piece I read said nothing different to what we know already.
Kennedy said that Roberts has gone back to Man City and will spend a bit of time deciding his future.
I really hope I'm wrong, but I can't help feeling that if he was going to come back, it would have been sorted before now.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - Didn't Roberts only leave Glasgow yesterday? He won't even have reported back to City either, Gerry. The last I heard was that his agent Galip Kilic was due to hold talks with City with the intention of asking City to allow the player to move on, that could be pencilled in when the players are due back for preseason or simply done over a phone call considering Roberts position in the City pecking order.
For me Roberts will report back to City for preseason and then his future will be decided whether that's up here or elsewhere. I think he needs to hear it for himself and straight from the horse's mouth that he isn't in City's plans.}

Quotes from John Kennedy

"Talks have been going pretty well with Stuart and his representatives and the club.

"Stuart has loved it here and I think he is in a very good place.

"As much as adding to the squad, the important thing is getting players like Stuart tied down. That is probably more important for us.

"But as far as I'm aware, Stuart is in a very good place and wants to get it done. Hopefully things will be done pretty soon. ".

Remember why we surprised paddy isn't coming. Board misrepresenting fans as usual buy this buy that Lisbon stuff etc. I love my club but they are milking fans its business guys, lawwell again at his best, where is the big signings we were promised.

Edd007 you heard anything about Paul hartley getting a job at celtic?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - Maybe.... ;) Why what you heard?}

01 Jun 2017 16:06:43
Heard he's being brought on board. Coaching job with the development squad mostly but also some first team work tae?

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - I was talking to someone the other day about Accies when I mentioned that I thought they should bring in wee Hartley as manager and they said that he was going to Celtic to work alongside Tommy McIntyre. I didn't believe it if I'm being honest as I think it's a big step down for someone used to being the main man and decision maker.}

01 Jun 2017 16:30:02
I was thinking that tae but maybe he needs a break fae it or something
Always good to have someone like hartley round the club. Good man and good coach.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - I'd be delighted for him if he got a job at Celtic, he's definitely one of the good guys.}

01 Jun 2017 16:45:18
Don't think they ever replaced Stephen Frail did they?

This guy Moss that has just left is he a big loss Ed? Seemed to want away? Or are we clearing out JP's team? (Y)

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - It's clearing out JP's team as Lee Congerton puts his own plans in place. David Moss was a cracking head scout for us and it would have been good if a place could have been found for him but moving to an EPL side as DOF is a great opportunity for him and I hope he's successful down there.}

01 Jun 2017 16:57:27
A step down in a sense but also a chance to experience coaching at a top club, which Hartley has never done as far as I know. I think he's a good coach and would be happy if we brought him in as well as surprised he would take such a role as he could be managing a top tier club, like Hamilton.

01 Jun 2017 21:22:36

When Paul heartley took over at dundee I was talking to one of their players who said he wouldn't say anything to your face but you would usually get a snide txt message a few hours later. I know that would annoy me but if he is to be appointed to a youth set up it can only be beneficial to the younger guys.

Ed, Any idea what the overall cost is for the new pitch once completed next summer. Great investment by the Club and it will be money well spent in my opinion.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's round about £2 million.}

01 Jun 2017 17:01:37
Thanks Ed.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

01 Jun 2017 11:55:47
ED. A quick question. I know u said about the pitch being done over two pre seasons. but I'm wondering if the drainage, U.S. heating is being upgraded just now, with the actual surface to follow Summer 18. are they just going to relay the current pitch? Canny see that. Soz if I'm missing something. Good work as always. Also as there may be a bit of downtime coming up, just want u to know u really are appreciated. HH!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much, Davie, that's nice of you to say so. As for the new pitch, this summer we're upgrading the undersoil heating and drainage system and putting in the foundations for the new hybrid pitch being installed next summer.
For next season a grass turf of some kind will be fitted on top of the hybrid foundations which does allow the pitch to bed in. That'll be lifted immediately after the final game of next season, with the Desso hybrid being fitted to on the foundations and allowed to settle in for the start of the 2018/19 campaign.}

Victor Fisher the latest name to be linked with us, remember him being touted as a baller a few yrs back, anybody know how he is now?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Jun 2017 12:09:33
Please, please, please let this be true. Mentioned him here a few times. Partly due to his changing club, and partly through injury, didn't have the best first season with Boro but what a talent. Exactly the type of deal we should be after. They paid around 3.5m for him - I'd just give them that back all day long.

01 Jun 2017 12:12:31
Not had a sniff really at boro from what I've heard mate! But supposedly boros defensive style doesn't suit him! Was a good player at Ajax but!

01 Jun 2017 13:29:35
mustve been the same story Lh as that's what it said on the piece i read, remember him from his ajax days maself, plays same position as rogic i think.

What position does he play some reporting the midfield one says he's a winger?

People praising lawwell. Ok fair enough. He is a shrewd operator. His goal is profit full stop. it wasn't that long ago everyone was calling for his head. Everything that man does is for more profit. That's how they operate. He doesn't quite frankly care what we think.

We have all bought into brendan we trust thing. Me too. We love Brendan, he has done fantastic. Bet let's not be fooled he is not a magician guys. He can only go so far with what he has. Lawwell knows the fans idolise him. And he will capitalise on this very much. Now, We have done the unthinkable this year.

Possibly Brendan has achieved some of his longer term goals in one season. So his next longer term objective is European success. That's what he wants to be idolised over. I understand we have to work within our means. Mm that's a Tory line. In it together pish.

Well we the fans have contributed. And as loyal fans you give a little back to us and to ultimately Brendan. If delis was to sign Hayes we would go mental. Sorry if this does happen that's two steps back. That is not progress. Did we not just always take rivals best players. Utd springs to mind. Now the sheep.

01 Jun 2017 11:29:42
Hayes is just paper talk but what if he is a player thevery gaffer REALLY does want?
Don't mind signing players from other teams in our league.
Guys like hartley Robson mcdonald agathe all came from Scottish teams and performed at the highest level for celtic.
I don't get the fascination with people demanding money spent.
As long as it's the right players that makes us better then I don't care if he costs a fiver or five million.

Agree2 Disagree4

01 Jun 2017 11:41:30
Desmond is more involved also, dunno if any of the previous gaffers had a direct line to him, people need to chill out, 3 days into close season and we have the usual doom and gloom kicking in already, going to be a long close season, I feel for you Ed,

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed007's Note - Thanks mate lol

01 Jun 2017 13:20:56
Without trying to be doom and gloom, it's still better to get the players in that would improve us asap. To be honest I don't understand the whole seeding/ qualifying process but did I not read on here that we're looking at facing much better sides than Be'er Sheva for the CL?

Agree0 Disagree3

01 Jun 2017 14:04:05
No doubt jim mate, but the season only finished on sun pal, find it kind of mental after the season we have had for people to be complaining that there's been no progress in 4 days, lawell back to his old ways etc, just find it bizarre.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Jun 2017 10:31:33
Surely the talk of trading Ryan Christie for Hayes is total nonsense even with no money going to Aberdeen it would be a backward step, I really believe this is a once in a lifetime chance to put a chasm between ourselves and sevco, I realise the gap just now is enormous but by hook or crook the powers that be will do everything in their power to resurrect the living dead let's make it impossible for them if it means allowing BR to push the boat for quality within reason then get it done this window, we have quite a few quality kids coming through it'll help them too so we can have ready made replacements when the time comes.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

01 Jun 2017 10:58:07
Personally think its just paper talk bud, can't see it happening maself.
