"Ed ( Whos leaving celtic in the summer transfer? ) {Ed007's Note - I imagine a lot of fringe players will be looking, or are being looked at, to move away. Unless there is major offer for Izaguiire or Kayal they will stay here. Celtic and the players are not encouraging any interest and both are looking at greatly improved terms on new long term contracts. One departure that could happen is Scott Brown}"

Lets hope Brown leaves. I've never seen a midfield player who cannot pass the ball 10 yards without loosing possession or it going out of play. A headless chicken if ever there was one.

Reports from Scotland are suggesting that both Rangers and Celtic are preparing possible bids to land Manchester United s top goal scorer Dimitar Berbatov this summer.

The striker, despite scoring most of Manchester United s goals has suddenly found himself down the pecking order and was left out of the Champions League final not even being named as a substitute.

It was first revealed in mid March that Celtic were interested in landing the Bulgarian but nothing has been made formal as yet. With Rangers also now reported to be keen on the forward the price tag is likely to rise and with Berbatov having only 12 months remaining on his current deal, Sir Alex Ferguson could be in a position to cash in and recoup some of the £30.75m the Old Trafford club first paid Tottenham for his services.

It seems that the emergence of Chicharito and Rooney as a partnership could see Berbatov surplus to requirements and although the Bulgarian has been linked with moves to Italy, a switch to the SPL could be a distinct possibility for the 30 year old.

SSN is reporting that berbatov insists he will be staying at man u. Can we now please discard this ludicrous rumour. He cost £30m two years ago! Personally I would like to see Rasmussen back as I think he's better than Murphy. Hail Hail.

Celtic have opened talks with midfield star Beram Kayal in a bid to fend off interest from a number of English clubs.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a superb debut season at Celtic after arriving from Maccabi Haifa last summer.

The likes of Aston Villa and Bolton have been credited with an interest in the Israeli international, but Celtic are ready to offer him a lucrative contract extension to keep him at Parkhead.

"It's nice to get other proposals but it is most important for me to stay."
Beram Kayal on his future
Quotes of the week
"Celtic spoke with me this week and we have opened negotiations on a new contract, " Kayal told the Daily Record.

"Last season I received quite a few offers but I told all the clubs I want to be at Celtic. It's very important to me that myself and Celtic are satisfied with my new deal.

"I have a new agent now and I expect him to tie up my new deal. It's nice to get other proposals but it is most important for me to stay.

Straight from skysports news now leave the kayal rumours out of it

"Georgios Samaras will be kept at Parkhead this year, unless negotiations with Lokomotiv Moscow continue. Lennon will keep him as Stokes is leaving for Norwich City."

I don't think either of them leaving is a given mate.

Lennon seems to have faith in Samaras and I've heard rumours he's on some special coaching regime to improve his consistency (which I don't think Celtic would fund if he was leaving) but then maybe Lennon's just doing a Mowbray and playing him in the run-in to get clubs interested (like TM did with Donati).

Stokes might've fallen out with Lennon but "fallen out" might just be the media's chosen interpretation of "disciplined". They might've had a disagreemtn but I think he was in bother for breaking curfew before a game and as far as I know Stokes hasn't come out and complained seriously about it (which he might do if he wanted offers to get his face and digust at his treatment out public).

And we'd be on to £3-4 million for the pair of them minimum anyway which could easily bring in two new strikers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lokomotiv have stated (regarding samaras and demba ba) "We will not be signing either of them". Its on sky sports transfer centre. There are no discussions involving them and sammy. Check if u don't believe me

Apparently King Lenny's first signings to be:

Gary Kenneth
Adam Rooney (the next Scott McDonald)
Frazer Foster (Loan)
Nacer Brazite (Loan from Arsenal) {Ed007's Note - Nacer Barazite that had a trial with Rangers? He left Arsenal on loan in 2008. He never played a single game for Arsenal and was permanently transferred to Austria Wien in January this year}

< incorrect he played in a few carling cup games, i recall he got the winner in a pre season friendly also {Ed007's Note -He made 2 substitution appearances in the Carling Cup, his 2nd lasted 17 minutes. He also scored the winner in a pre-season friendly against Barnet. His official stats show that his total number of appearances for Arsenal are 0. If the player doesn't count them I don't see why you can to justify saying Celtic are linked with such a poor player, you didn't even have his name or club correct. I also see you have changed your mind by posting this:

Celtic ins:
Shane Long £3M.
Jay Bothroyd (Free).
Shay Given £1M
Robbie Keane £1.5
Craig Bellamy (Loan)
Keith Andrews (Free)
Richard Dunne £2M.

Outs:
Samaras £5.5 > Galatasaray
Forrest (Loan)
McGinn (Loan)
Juarez £2M > Pumas
Ki £4M > QPR
Cha Du Ri £1.5M to a CSL team.
Murphy £1M > Ipswich.
Loovens £2M > championship team.
Hooiveld £1M > Norwegian team.

So from this I can take it that yours and Celtics interest in the phenomenal Nacer Barazite has finished?}

Why are people thinking shane long is going to be sold for anything less than £6m??? the guy scored 28 goals last season which will obviously bump up his value. Personally i can't see celtic paying this sort of money for a striker when they know their problems at the back are more of a priority

celtic to announce losses of 16.7million at next agm need to trim wage bill as its 27.5 million a year.
sum big earners to go in next few weeks need to sell b4 we buy. max 3 player in.
board are raging league was not won against a team with a 16 man squad.

celtics wage bill was 36m last year - then lenny signed 15 players.

hooiveld back at celtic after deal fell through. Lokomotiv dismiss sammi move as ridiculous gossip and nonsense.

All of us Celtic fans should be so grateful for such wise Rangers supporters coming on here and giving up their precious time to educate us. Gosh, I didn't know we had staff to pay as well. I thought they all worked for nothing. These Rangers supporters as so worldly wise when it comes to all matters football. They really are the people. Thank you so much.

Sillyboy1! get a life he is better than anything you have in midfield.

So if Kayal is not good enough what does that make Boughara as he is pushing for a move to the EPL where he failed previously.

Steven Davis is by far better than Kayal! ! Kayal is a dog he chases the ball and wins it back! When do you see him playing defense splitting passes or setting up goals??? Steven Davis sprays passes all over the pitch. Would like to see Kayal do that.

Billyboy1!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Im a rangers fan i personally think davis is better that kayal but i think kayal is a great player who is only going to get better

bb88

Agree0 Disagree0

It works both ways mate. You would like to see kayal do what davis does? Why? We have commons to do that kind of thing. Davis and kayal are different players. I'm pretty sure davis wouldn't do kayals job as effectively.
Kevbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

It's cause Davis is an attacking mid kayal is a defensive mid Ledley is an attacking mid remember his pass split must of the rangers team not just the defence when samaras scored at ibrox

Kayal has hired a new agent and he said today that his only job is to get a new deal agreed so he can stay. It would cost £10m for him. So don't see him leaving this year

More like to get him a move to the premiership even though he aint good enough!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Kayal not worth 10 million but would do a job in the epl same as boughy imo 4.5 to 5 million for kayal as for better than any rangers player as i have stated on here before im a fan of kayal but if i had to choose between him and steven davis id choose davis big rab by the way

Agree0 Disagree0

Kayal is a very good player but still couldnt lace the boots of davis, as much as davis is an attacking mid, he can still hold the ball up better than kayal and would produce better defensive displays over the course of a season

Total B*LLS a loss of 16.7 million.
celtic had a loss of 2.3 million the last tax half season and that was not counting the mcgeady money , so celtic made a profit of over 7 million up until december their.

Celtic spent a total of 11.25 Million on players and received 17.3 million in players sold .

Celtic receive over 23 million a season on season ticket money not counting merchendising and sponsor money so celtic where no where near 16.7 M In dept.

and with celtic getting rid of McDonald , Boruc , McManus, Caldwell , McGeady and Balde who was still on the wage books until the end of last season celtic got rid of a large part of there wage bill .

We brought in Emilio , and Kayal + Foster who is only on 5k a week the only expensive player we brought in where Ledley on 25k , Commons 20k and freddy on 15k a week .

Balde , McDonald and Boruc where on more than that alone.

So celtic can manage so stay on your own page and worry about the tax man.

If you all love the royal family the pay your taxes to her the .

God bless wee lizzys taxt's

So Celtic r buying a new team now 1 problem with that u can only spend money u earn {Ed007's Note - Where are you getting this notion? The FFP rules are not in place, we can spend whatever the board allow us. If the FFP rules were in place, Rangers would not have been allowed to play in Europe last year. Celtic can spend what the board decide and any debt/overdraft is underwritten by Dermot Desmond}
