i really think deep down wanyama would accept a contract extension if we made him a top earner. think about it it, he has never been quoted as saying he is unhappy or wants to leave, its just agents stirring a lot of crap and trying to get bonuses for themselves which has really lit up this saga. I think wanyama would be thinking that by having just turned 22 and the opportunity to play in europes finest again will spark a dramatic u- turn and sign a new deal if we offer him the terms. I would much rather use the money to offer him a bumper deal rather than bring someone else in for centre mid. we, ve got plenty of money and I would be particularly disappointed if cfc don't offer him 1 b4 the window shuts and also the fact he hasn't been quoted saying he wants away, if anyone proves me wrong then feel free,, just my honest opinion.greenbhoy67

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hi Greenboy, I do agree with you that in an ideal world he would stay. As 1. He is happy here and 2. We do have the funds to make him a top earner. The fact is however, that Celtic are just as keen to sell him. NOW. Let's be honest.all this talk of Man Utd, Arsenal etc is rubbish. The FIRST team to give Celtic over £11m AND meet the players demands WILL get him. Although his agent/s is/are certainly holding things up, wanting his/their cut. persons! HH YNWA!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes reported to be wanting 85k a wk, great player but wouldn't give him half of that. unless we get him an EBT?. should be fine. no sporting advantage . bhoywonder

Agree0 Disagree0

If the money comes to the table then we will sell him to the 1st club that offer it. We will make at least 50% profit off him been great but 6 good games in Europe won't keep a player at Celtic park. Wanyama has never done the club wrong in anyway and all I can hope for is he goes to a respectable club down south and really gets a name for himself. Agents are a agents, it's nothing new they stir things.

A man trying to get onto the new Sevco Bus was pushed off by Sally McMoist and K-Mac Bowels.
"Theres no room", squealed Sally, "it's full of We Are The Peepuls."
"But you must let me on" shouted the man.
"Why, what's so special about you?" spouted K-Mac, "are you one of The Peepuls too?"
"No, I'm the fookin driver", replied the man.

Over the past couple of days we have been given the perfect example of the blatant inequality in reporting by the Scottish mainstream media . 3 players have left Scottish football over the weekend, one from Celtic and two from Sevco, all three moved with no money changing hands, Thomas Rogne moved to Wigan too reports that Celtic had missed out on a fee for Rogne, but when Bocanegra and Goian left Sevcovia it was a great bit of business that saved the Tribute Act millions of pounds! typical Scottish journalism .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate the worst bit is after the rags giving it the big one about Goian an Bocanegra going is 2 million savings for sevco it turns out Goian is being paid £500k to cancel his contract. No news on Bocanega yet but its just pathetic biased journalism. It can't be perceived any other way as its so blatant.

At least when we call biased about the media we have the information to back it up, its absolutely embarrassing the amount of imbeciles over on the dark side calling the Lawwell godfather of scottish football card with not a single iota of concrete evidence or information to back it up exept paranoid sh*te they've read on sc*mbag media or porkies they've been told by there bitter mate at work.

Just read that some fans are not happy with Lennon, ok I would like a treb but in my view cl spl is priority the other two are of smaller importance I'm not trying to say I don't want Celtic to try but if there's a big game comming up in the cl and Lennon played his top squad against let's say st mirren and they took out brown Forrest and foster with Ajax 4 days later these same people would be demanding his resignation, I've got a an idea let the boss do his job, he is a legend in the making and in my eyes he has his priorities bang on

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Celtic have 6 games to play and win if they are to reach the Champions League group stages, this has to be Neil Lennon's priority at the moment.

I agree, some fans need a reality check at times. Celtic will compete in all domestic competitions but anything can happen in one-off games.

This season I expect Celtic to gain more points than last season in the SPL and win the Scottish or League Cup but right now, I cannot think by the CL qualifiers and I reckon Neil Lennon is the same.

As this moment in time, I could not care less who we get drawn against in the League Cup. ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs .e, spot on . our most important games of the season are without a doubt, the cl qualifiers . not the cl groups or the knockout stages . because without the qualifiers the rest don't happen . as for the domestic cups yes nice to win, but we should treat them as the english do . don't risk the big bhoys, play the reserves . shammy

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all about prioritising.Lenny has made some strange decisions to be fair but is still on his learning curve.Tactically I think he can be very astute and is not scared to change things mid game, always a good thing I think.

The facts are we need the champions league. That is job one.get to the group stage and the rest will take care of itself. Always remember we are all Neil Lennon!. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont get it too cause all along what we heard is, we have to win the tittle as it let's us into cl, for many years the club and manager have stated this. we need the money in cl and it showcases us as we are no small team, due to the thought of the league. winning the treble would be great but just because it might be way easier doesn't mean we will win it, cl is a lot better for the club on a bigger stage then treble amongst fans. but that doesn't mean they won't try and win it and I believe we will soon enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where do any of the complainents claim to be hoops fans, they even refer to Celtic as 'they'. This is the Sevco propaganda machine in full flow. This is all to deflect from bad news leaking or about to leak out of Ibrox such as the job cutting that's going on at the moment. You can always tell something bad is coming out about them just by reading Celtic stories. Watch this space.

Foxy

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen its about survival first an foremost in the spl. The cups aren't exactly followed by talent scouts or foreign managers. They are lucky to get a byline outside Scotland. It's the CL that attracts the players, give income and the buyers so it priority number one and we are going about it perfectly. No mad spending and bringing up talent. I may get pelters but I couldn't give a monkeys about the cups Hh. Joe

Zactly shammy wee should only tale these cups seriosly when wee get to the quarters play the bhoys give them there chance to sign

Agree0 Disagree0

The c.l qualifiers set the tone for the rext of the season and totally agree the earlier rounds in the league and scottish cups is the best way to blood the pups the c.l is where are true ambitions lie and n.l would'nt be doing his job right uf he allowed his mind to be distracted from this as a club we should be constantly looking to progres so let's build on the platform set last season sadly this is were we have been let down by the board in the past let's hope history doesn't repeat its self keeping the core of the squad is important and if vic and hooper are allowed to leave which looks most likely along qith the boys already brought in one or teo top class signings are required possibly a left back and a proven goal scorer with money comming in its only right some is splashed to maintain if not improve the quality of the squad where I have faith in lenny to take the team and the club as a whole forward

Had a look at the zombies page and had to laugh,
Here's just one post about next season lol

5.) The competition will be stiffer this year, they got away with half-hearted kickabouts last season, but teams like Dunfermline are going to be very angry this year, and although we 'expect' to win, it's still going to take guts and determination from this new squad.

Fingers crossed they gel quickly.

What a joke
Stevo dundee

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is that the squad that are looking to win the League Cup and Scottish Cup this season? lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it so funny teams like Rangers & Celtic in there respective leagues can't just turn up & walk away with 3pts or progress through a cup both teams proved that last season where's your treble? Should have been so easy for a team like yours eh that's the expectation?
Show a bit of respect to the teams you have to beat before you go & play any Benfica, Barcelona or Moscow!

Tell you what's a laugh your deluded fans thinking yous should make loan moves for Scott Sinclair & Adebayor Ally & Neil will win body & smile of the year before that happens!

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Larky Bear i'm a bit disappointed for to hear you call me deluded.

Were you not a tad deluded when you though RFC were financially sound enough to 'pay' £4m for Jelavic even though your Club had well publicised debts and had been up for sale for years? Why did you think you could afford a £4m luxury?

Celtic show nothing but respect to other Scottish Clubs, they pay them if they owe them money and do not encourage fans to boycott grounds or turn up at part-time Clubs in some tacky, over the top bus.

Celtic fans have seen their certified accounts and if they want to speculate about loan players knowing the Club can possibly offer CL football, then why is that deluded? ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Deluded I think it's you half dead one who's deluded with yiur diddy team full of over paid nontities
playing against part timers because yiur previous entity were liars and shameless CHEATS yet you have the neck to come on here with your synde comments which stink of rotten flesh and bitterness please stay on your own side off the fence and leave us civilised people to discuss top flight football in peace please
thommyj

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs E I did not personally call you deluded and when Rangers signed Jelavic I was only a 17 or 18 year old lad finances did not worry me I admit to being one who thought the club was too big to die. Plus we sold him on for a profit even though that went into Craig Whytes pockets which is sickening. I would have loved Rangers to have offered a Respectable CVA & survived that Admin but I strongly believe this was a Craig Whyte Agenda to liquidate the club Duff & Phelps must be the worst Adminstrators on earth be honest the whole thing was a farce & there was only ever going to be one Consortium who got there hands on the Club & that was Charles Green.
I didn't say Celtic as a club do not show there fellow SPL teams respect but for your fans to think it's funny that one of us said the team would need determination & guts as the competition would be stronger all I simply stated was that teams need to show respect no matter how much bigger & better they are than there opponents some stray results from both teams last season proved that just turning up isn't 3 points. Players like Black & Samaras need to get that into there heads but anyway we get poked fun of at every angle the Sinclair & Adebaypur rumours I found funny let's face it you get them on every site & it's highly unlikely theyl move to the SPL for a crack at the CL but if there clubs were looking to loan them out they probs wouldn't want to loan th to another EPL team so there's a small chance. All in all the players was just a wee light hearted joke & sorry you took offence to the Deluded part I took offence to our fans being called a knuckledraggers the other day but hey ho such is life like I've said thick skim is a must in this country.

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen to the way you talk thommyj dare try & call yourself civilised. Like all of you say on our site it's open to all. It's only snide when I try to have a bit of banter on here after suffering many a torturings from Stevo, Green Jehdi, Mrs E, Timalloy Shammy . Should I go on? Braw fishing weather here on the dark side. The thing is I may not be as smart or as well punctuated as The likes of Mrs E but I wear my heart on my sleeve just like you guys all are now. Gave it out take it back I'm bloody scraping at the barrel trying to get a bit of banter making it out of Sinclair & Adebayor use have it in abundance with the way Rangers have been run.

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

LB I read a lot of your posts and I would say 99% of your posts are well thought out and reasonable. If you want to have a bit of banter on here I am more than happy to read your banter. At least you don't hide behind the same club thing a lot of the rangers fan do.

Ian

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye sure mate. When Celtic stood on the pitch and gave St.Mirren a guard of honour for winning the League Cup last season that must have been fuelled by a lack of respect eh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aw Larky Bear do not say that about smart and well punctuated, that was thanks to the school I went to ;-)

Football is all about opinion, I've been slated on here as well for stuff others don't agree with. I've well and truly put myself in it by saying I do not think there will be a German team in the Champions League final next year and I will be sticking by it. I'm watching these big gun transfers very closely and was glad to see Isco go to Real Madrid.

Rangers have been spending huge for a long while, £12m for Tore Andre Flo? Celtic have never spent anywhere near that on one player. They absolutely rubbed Scottish Football's nose in this wealth so you can maybe understand why it was amusing. Also, can you imagine the outrage if Celtic had not paid Her Majesty their taxes? (Please try to imagine this one given how all things British and Royal your Club's fans are)

Celtic Football Club are in no way disrespectful to other Clubs but fans from both Celtic and Rangers suffer badly from 'big Club' syndrome. As you said yourself, you thought Rangers were too big to die. Thankfully in 1994, Celtic fans were a bit more realistic but we also had a Stadium issue as well back then.

To be honest, I really thought what Charles Green done last season at Dundee Utd was humiliating for your Club particularly as he took the gate receipt money (giving it to charity was neither here nor there, CG still took the money). ~ Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye guys get off his back he is like he said wearing his heart on his sleeve, how would you feel if it was us? He is obviously a decent guy who just got messed about by.the thing he loves. Larkybear, the facts are that queen of the south romped that league on about £250k tops. You lot are spending millions here, why? Because you've got an inept manager who can't manage, tactically useless and have to bring in these mercenaries to ensure you get promoted. It is a joke ok and I stand by my original post. Don't compare us with ure 1 yr old team playing part timers every week, slight difference son when we're juggling European games, domestic cups and playing in the top league in Scotland. Oh and having to deal also with a squad always on international duty. Away and have a look at ure new coach, bet u wished it was a replacemt for sneaky when u first heard! Stevo Dundee

Rangers may have attained full membership of the Scottish Professional Football League and regained voting rights on issues affecting the new organisation but their new status won't affect their European exile.

Even if Ally McCoist's side wins the Scottish Cup next season - and Jon Daly, Nicky Law, Cammy Bell, Nicky Clark, Richard Foster and Steven Smith haven't been signed on big wages just to win the Second Division - there will be no Europa League slot for them.

Contrary to popular myth, that is not the result of any ban handed down by the authorities. It is, instead, a direct result of not having published audited accounts.

-------------
Now that we have charitably assisted sevco in Scotland umpteen times, breaking and bending rules for the wee unfortunates post destruction to help the new club survive. I'd really like to hear some thanks from them.
We've rolled out Nimmo-smith to help them. We've rolled out the SFA and SFL and SPL to help them, we've allowed signings from inside a ban, we've allowed them a vote and full membership of SPFL. Instead of five years as associates. All for the benefit of Scottish football. But we all deserve apologies and thanks. It's only good manners after all.
Geesh! What we do for the good of the game.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It seems this is something of a myth. The actual reason for the European ban is that a club must be a member of their association for an UNBROKEN three year period. This is, apparently, in UEFA legislation.

This now puts to bed the same club nonsense. Has the reporting on this issue been another smokescreen to perpetuate this claim? In the eyes of UEFA The rangers are one season old.Once again the SFA will not release a statement regarding the status of this new club. green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

Green Jehdi Rangers are a new club every decent fan knows that mate. I'm a bit confused as to whether it's 3 years accounts or unbroken membership or both now which I would think it was & that's only fair. There's an element of our support that's naivety really let's us down this is why we have not been left alone to go about our business in the lower divisions. I have still stated I do not trust the board but from a die hard to another can you tell me you would stop supporting your team because of a couple Tw@ts like Whyte & Murray. I hate that our past success will never feel the same but not a chance in Hell I will ever feel any different about those teddy bears that turn up in there blue & white to play at Ibrox infront of 45000 of my brothers & sisters Football is a big part of life here in Scotland & I don't wish to see anyone suffer the fate Rangers have in our Country again. To the future I say this country needs competitiveness to one day make a charge on the European front!

PS are yous playing a friendly midweek I saw Celtic on the Home team side of a Coupon at 8/13 against a team I never heard of got to be worth the £130 even to win only £80.

Larky Bear

Agree0 Disagree0

@Larky Bear: Valid point mate but for one thing, we had people in control who thought we were their own personal bank! The Celts for change guys, aided by a couple of wealthy Celtic fans, got the message to our supporters and shoehorned them out.

What we did, and your support could have as well, was an organised show of dissent while supporting the team. The only cash they took in was gate money, everything else was boycotted.Every game had a demo, and eventually the support rallied together and made it clear they had to sell.

Like my mate, you realise the club is new and your point about being left alone is spot on.That's what annoys lots of fans, not just Celtic, the fact that this same club nonsense is promoted throughout the media. Cheers. green jhedi
