We get £5k for the Sevco O'Halleron signing.
I think we should donate it to the local one man local business debts that the "Rangers" abandoned eg the children's face painters that the oldco refused to honour.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2016 23:01:01
Totally hypocritical, sent a player away because of attitude problems and we sign a headbanger.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

01 Feb 2016 23:45:41
TTS, you are so correct, we sent Stokes. Out because he has a problem with RD, his record as an SPL striker is first class.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Feb 2016 09:12:18
This CKR deal will end in tears. After what happened with Stokes, if CKR steps out of line as he has done at most of the clubs he has been with, what do the board do then? we have 70 players on the books. Why not have 40 to 45 on the books but use the savings to bring in 4 quality players? It must be a better policy than we have at present. Never seen the club in so much turmoil since the John Barnes days but even then we had some quality about us. Who in the Celtic squad is a quality player?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:55:15
Ed, after Roberts and CKR signed are we now finished in the transfer market or are we trying to sign anyone else tonight?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - That'll be it.}

01 Feb 2016 22:44:30
Feel pretty disheartened by the CKR deal to be honest. Ed is it John park that goes out and finds our strikers and them puts them to the board. Leigh griffiths apart our last 5 or 6 strikers have been terrible so can't believe we have taken this clown onboard. If it is John park who is our chief scout surely somebody must be questioning the quality and class he is putting forward. VVD Wanyamma ki and hooper, Forster apart how many players have really not worked. I no we have made good money on these guys but I'm thinking we have wasted more on the absolute dross that ain't worked out in the same time frame.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - JP and scouts go all over watching games and players. RD has input on player recruitment but when push comes to shove it's PL and JP who make the decisions. JP's job title is Football Development Manager, there was talk of making him Director of Football when NL left, in my opinion he is DOF in all but name only.}

01 Feb 2016 22:49:10
I hope that we can all keep the reasons why we love and support CFC in mind, and why we comment on here, follow everything that goes on in our club with the reverent interest of love struck teenagers, But for Gods sake enough is enough, we have again been stitched up, RD is not a manager, he was hired as a yes man, the board, I think saw him as someone who maybe could spot a player who could keep us happy and then sell on, So why have we bought Colin Kazim, these people are taking the P--, RD is a Scandinavian, who are not used to confrontation, so why bring a trouble maker i to the ranks, he is bossed around enough by Scott Brown and Kris Commons.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

01 Feb 2016 23:05:26
Scandinavians aren't used to confrontation? Have you heard of the Vikings?

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:37:02
All Scandinavians aren't used to confrontation? What a lot of rubbish you talk! If that's how you thnk you must have thought mjallby and ripper were wimps. Stop talking rubbish.

Not disagreeing with you too much about rd but he isn't the manager he is head coach which is different when. It comes to taking responsibility for the team, transfers, etc.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 00:04:01
And I forgot to say that Anthony Stokes is far and away a lot better than what we have just spent money on.

Hi Ed, Any news on us punting that Boerigtter at all? : (

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed007's Note - It's not a case of punting him, a severance deal has been on the table for weeks if not months, it's a completely bizarre situation.}

01 Feb 2016 22:52:21
He will go on the 30th June, when his contract is up,10 k a week, and his next club will be in the 3rd division in Holland on a grand a week.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:37:43
Must be ronnies fault that neil Lennon signed him. Lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 05:34:27
What a shame and what an absolute ballbag! The least he could do is leave as he has offered us nothing but sick notes. I seen Hartson saying something about he could never have been a wages thief, If only Boerigtter had the same mentality.

01 Feb 2016 22:08:52
What happened about the Ajer deal?

Among that article Ed, Fingbossan away to a smaller club so he was clearly available and we end up short changed again!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:39:00
Who did he go to and for how much? Don't know if CKR will be good but on a free and a turkey international it's a low risk even if it goes pear shaped.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 21:04:31
Is Ciftci away on loan or has he been punted? Also Kasim-Richards? Why not go the whole hog and re-sign Paul Telfer and Reggae Blinker?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2016 22:29:38
Kasim-Richards is actually a quality player and if he screws the nut we have just landed ourselves a bargain. The question is, will he screw the nut.

Agree2 Disagree2

01 Feb 2016 22:41:23
RabMac. Unfortunately I think there are many on here who hope he doesn't screw the nut and makes a show of club . Hopefully we get a few good years out of him.

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Feb 2016 23:04:31
Indeed, we can but hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:09:57
Old Bhoy you talk some mince.

99.9% of us want EVERY player to succeed but we are smart enough to know it won't happen with this guy. 29 years old, poor scoring record, troublemaker, the list goes on why this is a terrible signing.

Do I want him to prove me wrong? Of course I do and you can be the first to throw it in my face when he scores the goal that gets us to the Champions league group stage in August.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:22:26
Iv just seen Dion Dublin pokin aboot an empty hoose, give him a game anaw 😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:32:25
No one is arguing about the 'quality 'player bit, its the 'quality' person bit, but the bit I'd like to know about are, how much are is wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:32:58
There are plenty of us who hope he does not embarrass the club or generate bad publicity, as we have enough problems at present without any more distractions or disruption.
His disciplinary record and number of clubs does suggest we are taking a huge risk and our recent transfer activity involving strikers has been questionable at best.
Griffiths needs support but Commons is out of favour, Ciftci, Scepovic and Stokes all shunted, Nesbit loaned and then there's Carlton Cole in - out - shake it all about.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:44:42
Are his qualities scoring goals rabmac . old bhoy apart from fenerbach e who loaned him out he hasn't lasted more than a year at any club do you think at his age he will change his ways . and I'm not talking just attitude disciple but scoring goals . broke over 10 once in career . his average is 4.4 goals per season.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2016 09:21:16
Agree with you Deep River. Why are we buying players with zero pedigree. If he was a goal scorer I can understand why we would take a punt but I can't see for the life of me why we signed him.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 19:50:50
Partick Thistle add forwards Aidan Nesbitt and Antonio German. Aiden on loan til the end of the season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2016 22:05:13
Thought Ronnies much hyped forte, was bringing on and developing young players, how does this align with sending the best of the young talent out on loan.
That was a strange picture on the back of the sun today, it looks like CG is holding the rc players arm in against his side, as if he is trying to make it look like a foul, instead of having both arms up readsy for the ball, his right one is
down as if he is trying to trap the rc players arm, of course maybe Craig is ticklish, and the other guy had been tickling him.

Agree0 Disagree2

01 Feb 2016 22:45:01
These players are not leaving the continent, he will be able to have contact with them all as often as he wants . He now wants to see how they take the next step and play first team football. First team football is probably vital for them now.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Feb 2016 23:20:40
Well, why not give them first team football at Celtic park?, the fear factor, strikes again, Ronnie did'nt want to throw Nesbitt on in the cup game in case Celtic got beat, did'nt want to start the Danish maestro, in case they got beat, for someone who's reputation has been built on introducing young players to the first team, or so i was led to believe, the way he has treated Henderson, Fisher, Nesbitt and whoever, smacks of the fear factor again, who's afraid is it Ronnie or is it John Collins?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 19:36:10
Ed do you thinks that's us or is there anything else in the making?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - Well a press conference has been arranged so it looks like that could be it on the incomings unless Pedro has something up his sleeve. Aidan Nesbitt has been made available for loan with Partick Thistle looking the favourites and that's Ciftci away to Eskisehirspor - what a great £1.5 million buy he worked out to be!}

01 Feb 2016 20:11:32
I think it's a disgrace that we've taken on Roberts and sent Nesbitt out on loan. That'll probably hinder Christie as well. Kazim-Richards tbh I did say could be decent if managed well although I never knew the half of what people have been saying about his previous antics. I just thought he was a bit of a big headed, strop throwing type in a similar mould to Griffiths just getting caught up in daft stuff. I'm very disappointed even though by all accounts we've got a very good player in Roberts.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Feb 2016 20:08:23
Total agree ed. was sayn earler how many duds have we wasted 1.5 - 2m on. how much wages have we spunked over the last few years.

Then we walk away from genuine potential over a few hundred grand or 1m.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Pukki, Balde, Bangura, Boeriggter, Scepovic and now Ciftci, we've spent millions on dross. Is this latest diddy any better - not a hope in hell.}

01 Feb 2016 21:04:31
Dont post much but on this site a lot ed. but i don't think iv heard yourself as pist off as i hear you tnite lol but i feel your pain mate could this club fall any further?

The media will tell us its because of rangers and no competition ect. but this downfall is all about celtic and wat they have or haven't done!

Hope you ok mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm scunnered mate, absolutely scunnered. I had high hopes in this window getting Sviatchenko in quite early, Stokes out early(ish) - was even happy that Roberts is an 18 month loan - and yet it's the last hours of the window and here we are signing dregs that nobody else wanted.}

01 Feb 2016 21:34:09
Rasmussen as well ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I forgot about him. I'm going to have nightmares now because of you.}

01 Feb 2016 22:52:28
It's good that our supporters actually support a new player and help to build his confidence, especially before he kicks a ball for us . Don't let our dislike of R D and PL get in the way of welcoming new players to the club . We need them to do well for us and we as good supporters can help.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:29:52
Ed, we've always wasted money on dud strikers (Fortune, Cascarino, Camara, to name a few) . I think we've had more bad than good in my time of watching the team. We should have someone like Sutton as a scout as he would know what to look out for.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Nothing even to do with the scouting, add up the money and anyone with a half decent knowledge of the game could have came up with at least one quality striker.
It's just a hypothetical example but remember how the Rhodes deal was set up that if Huddersfield were to get the whole £8.5 million Blackburn had to get promoted and stay in the EPL for a season as long as Rhodes was there, it depended on goals scored and international caps etc etc. We could have paid the whole fee with what we've wasted. We could have structured the deal for winning trophies, European qualification. I don't know how much Blackburn eventually paid for Rhodes but it was nowhere near £8.5 million - and remember that transfer fees are paid over the duration of the contract or until the player is sold.}

Ed, Still trying to get my head round CK-R

Surely the beaks know that when we sign someone we are going to do a bit of digging/ research?

Not that you need a big shovel for CKR

Do they have utter contempt/ disregard for us as fans it reeks/ smacks of desperation. Do they care?

Forget turning on RD folks, he can only bat with the ball he has so to speak no wonder we are so heavily into purchasing but RD wanted experience this is an experience we don't need!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It stinks mate, the whole deal stinks to high heavens.}

01 Feb 2016 19:46:40
I don`t know about anybody else but the CKR deal comes across as very lazy scouting.

There MUST be better players we could have got out there or am I being too narrow minded in thinking, once again the CHEAP OPTION.

01 Feb 2016 19:48:42
I cannot believe we have signed him. I am ashamed of the club.

Is this guy that bad? Not being funny guys but I've never heard off him or the boy from city.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:34:52
The thing is Celtic are never going to get someone of CKR ability unless they have baggage, are still young or have bad injury record. Yes we have taken a risk signing him and time will tell if it has paid off or we have just spunked more more money.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:49:53
CKRs ability? Is that a joke?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:54:33
I will be amazed if he is any good as with the welcome on fans forums and Twitter his whole confidence will be affected.

01 Feb 2016 23:08:09
Confidence won't be a problem with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:34:33
I'm not overwhelmed by car arrival either but not really seen hi. Or know much about him bar years ago when he was playing in england. He has more than30 caps for turkey who are a good international team so maybe has something about him. I hope.

We all asked for a striker, winger and centre defender this window and we have got it, just the striker I am unsure of.

If we didn't lose yesterday I think everyone would be a bit more optimistic, but we did so there we go.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 19:23:10
Every transfer window is the same I feel as if the owners are selling us down the river this is not the club we know and have loved for so long why don't the owners show some passion like we fans do its now beyond a joke.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

01 Feb 2016 22:36:10
I'm actually happy with the business we done this window and feel we are stronger coming out than we were going in.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 19:22:50
I can't believe we have signed CKR. This squad is getting worse and worse, no wonder this team doesn't excite me. Time for a boycott of games, merchandise, etc until DD puts his hand in his pocket and adds value to his investment. I would be up for another share issue if everything raised went straight to improving the team.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

01 Feb 2016 20:16:43
As a player, he's distinctively average -- Leigh G has scored more goals for Celtic than CKR has scored across his entire "illustrious" career -- and as a person he's worse.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Feb 2016 18:35:39
In regard to signings I think there is only 2 possible outcomes to who is signing them.
1- RD is signing them and RD only.
2- Its a group thing with PL JP and Ronny with the final decision with PL.
I can't see any other way working.
Either way RD does not come out of this with any plaudits.
Simple because if it number 1 then he is responsible for the signings and most of them have been poor.
If its 2 then he has no back bone and is allowing these players come in without his authority.
But I firmly believe tho he may not have the final say BUT I am convinced he gives the green light to PL etc or its totally pointless, as there is no way PL is going to fork out for a player RD has told him I don't want.
Cos if he has anything about him he would just not play the player so it makes no sense for PL to get a player for the sake of it.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

01 Feb 2016 20:29:54
Rayman Ronnie had 6 weeks to look at Carlton Cole. He may not have identified him but he had 6 weeks to work with him so he must have agreed to signing him. Total waste of money. Cifti, played in Scotland so scouting him would not be an issue if Ronnie wanted to check him out. Waste of money. No one can convince me that Ronnie has no say what so ever in signing players. He must have an input. My belief is that he will just go along with whatever PL wants to do so if that is the case he is not blameless.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:44:55
When did it become a good idea to tell the boss to **** off and you will do things your way?

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 18:13:39
Cifti didn't cut it WHAT SHOCK! . NAW. how many more 1.5 -2m do celtic need to waste b4 they bite the bullet and spend a bit more wisely. instead of spending 2m each on say 4 plonkers buy 2 better quality players for 4m. For f@#k sake celtic give your heads a shake
Ps: were only taking this other donkey from feyenood because he's free.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - I said the other day that they only way I could see us bringing in a striker was if Ciftci went out on loan - I was expecting a better player than Ciftci to replace him though.}

01 Feb 2016 21:33:05
90% of the fans on here didn't like the signing of Ciftci and we all turned out to be right I can see this being a similar scenario with CKR!

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 16:14:20
To say I'm angry is an understatement, I'm sick of every thing to do with Celtic, the club is a laughing stock rd picked that idiot effy a he is a liability so I put the blame squarely at rd s door, pl and Desmond will get ther answer the next home game, iv gave up the ghost the season is over for me ya I have no doubt we will get the league but I doubt the Scottish cup, we should be mauling the treble every year, the fact is ther is no ambition at the club.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

01 Feb 2016 17:47:33
Iv been feeling that way for while now englishbhoy. it hurts me badly. The 3 games prior to yesterdays shameful display almost got me believing it was starting to gel. But RD goes and proves that was just a small purple patch. I wish he would just walk. Its not going to end good either way. The clubs ambitions seem to be sinking fast.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Who would people have picked instead of Amborse and Boyata? Simunovic was injured and Sviatchenko hadn't kicked a ball for us, if he had played and made an error RD would have been blamed for playing a player in a semi-final who had only been training with the squad a few days while trying to settle himself and his family into a new life in a new country - I doubt Sviatchenko was in the right frame of my mind to start. Putting any new signing into a cup final after only a couple of days of him joining the club would be a massive gamble and I would have thought it a risk not worth taking. Do you also blame RD for LG missing a penalty as well - after all it was RD that picked him?
You can't blame any manager, whether it's RD, Mourinho or Guardiola or the manager of your local youth team for a players giving away a penalty, a dubious red card (I still don't think Ambrose stopped a goal scoring opportunity) or a player missing a penalty. I can remember loads of these incidents over the years that didn't result in supporters calling for the manager's head.
If Ambrose has stayed on the park, even with RC getting a penalty I would have been 100% confident that we would have went on to win the game, the red card changed the whole game.}

01 Feb 2016 18:03:52
Ed if the boys good enough he starts. We all know Ambrose has that in him so why take the chance if we've got someone else there. Come on man that was Ross county, hardly a top team. Anybody can miss a penalty so a wouldn't blame Griffiths, he's earned a bit of leeway in ma book. Wednesday nite is ronnies biggest game his coats on a shakey peg it's got to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He might be good enough but how do you know he was fit enough and in the right frame of mind to play? The only reason he was on the bench was because there was nobody else. Games are always harder to win when it's 10 v 11.}

01 Feb 2016 18:17:01
I agree with you ed to a certain extent. Efe has played well lately and I had no problem with him starting. Yes he made a mistake and it changed the game but you have to questions the substitutions RD made afterwards. Mcgregor was looking lively before he was subbed, Armstrong again had a nightmare, johansen has not played well all season. We were chasing the game and needed goals but he didn't bring on another striker, just made like for like changes. Now I'm a fan of Deila and yesterday he wasn't helped by the team, but if I can see what needs changed then so should he.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We were getting picked off with counter attacks most of the game, bringing on another striker would have exposed us even more. If you noticed RD made the substitution as soon as Ambrose was off, he knew that he was leaving CG exposed if he hadn't.}

01 Feb 2016 18:22:48
That's the thing Ed we can't blame RD for the individual incidents and he only had Ambrose and boyata fit, but he is culpable for how he has shaped the team. After such a good start we should have been able to control the game and get a stranglehold on county. What happened was that Biton and Johansen couldn't dominate the ball and we let them find their way back in. They had two good chances before the penalty. Again we were wide open. It's a sad day when we have to bring on a half fit broody because the others can't compete. Armstrong played out of position again, Johanssen missing again and no ability to come up with an idea to get us out of a hole. This was another example of his continual failings. I just can't see him turning this around. I have no hesitation in saying I want celtic to be in the champions league next season and compete against the top teams, I am not worried about the qualifiers at the moment as I am more worried about not winning the league. I just hope we can have a positive result on Wednesday.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I can't take anyone who thinks there's any doubts about us winning the league seriously.}

01 Feb 2016 18:25:53
Hi Ed

Just seen your post about Richards I couldn't agree more, I despair about what is happening to our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He's the type of player you used to expect to roll up at Ibrox - this is our El Hadji Diouf moment.}

01 Feb 2016 18:35:27
The problem is that we all know efe will make a mistake every match its just not certain how bad that mistake will cost us. On Sunday in real time without replays I thought you idiot efe so I don't blame the decision to send him off. I would never play efe as he is an accident waiting to happen but Ronny trusts him so he is ultimately responsible. I would rather have seen Erik start as if your good for the bench then why not to start? Or similarly eoghan O'Connell who has been on the bench recently. I'm also certain that if simunovic had been fit Ronny would still have played efe. There are far too many repeat mistakes happening not to blame the manager he's either not educating them properly or their not listening to him either way the manager is responsible if he keeps putting them on the park.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Instead of looking at the defeat for any reasons to blame the manager look at the decisions he had to make and what actually happened during the game. Eoghan O'Connell is working his way back to fitness after a near 5 month injury lay off, the only reason Sviatchenko was on the bench is because there was no one else, he's not up to scratch fitness or match sharpness wise and had never played with any his team mates. RD was probably hoping naming him was just getting him used to being in the dug out and seeing how things work at the club during matches and probably hoping to let him soak in the atmosphere if we had won.
Do you blame RD for wrongly sending off Amborse? There is no way he denied the RC player a goal scoring opportunity, a penalty yes but it was never a red card? Surely Lustig and Boyata(?) must shoulder the blame for putting Ambrose in that position.
RD also trusts LG and he missed a penalty and a crucial time, a penalty I'm convinced if he had scored we would have went on to win the tie, even if it had took extra time, that penalty would have knocked the stuffing out of RC. Why isn't RD getting pelters for picking LG?
Individual errors from our own players and the ref cost us yesterday's game. We missed Scott Brown badly in games like that and I thought Rogic on recent form was a big miss, we should have enough in the squad to beat RC though and we would have if it had remained 11 v 11.
You can't blame a manager for a player being red carded and another missing a penalty.}

01 Feb 2016 18:37:44
Ed, a managers head is on the block the minute he joins a club. that's the way it is now right or wrong, its a results business to coin a cliche. And results and performances are just not good enough in my humble opinion. Fans are losing any faith they had in him, the board, the squad. Its all getting unhealthy and splitting the fans down the middle. A fresh approach is needed.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - You said it was a results business then say results and performances aren't good enough, which is it?}

01 Feb 2016 19:09:32
Both Ed. Results aren't good enough and neither have performances. I don't want to be rude Ed but its easy enough to understand.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - You contradicted yourself, if it's a results business then performances are irrelevant - look at Chelsea's CL winning performance. I just wanted to clarify what you meant as it can't only be one thing if you add other stipulations to it. It would have been a lot easier to understand if you hadn't contradicted yourself.
You're not being rude, it's not your fault that what you had written didn't make sense and I needed clarification.}

01 Feb 2016 19:14:53
Whether you take me seriously or not Ed our ridiculous performances in the league need to be taken seriously we escaped a humiliation by Motherwell, and were abject against Partick Thistle. After playing like that on Sunday I am very concerned about how we will perform on Wednesday. If our lead goes to three points then i would think your confidence misplaced. We won't win the league if we don't win games it's that simple.

Ed i love a bit of banter on here like most. But there seems to be a rise in Barrack Room Lawyers going over every single word typed and if the poster is somewhat struggling a wee bit to get there points across they get hit with a smug " i'm intellectually better than you attitude. Very very poor form mate.

{Ed007's Note - Aw diddums! Do you want a hug? If you aren't putting yourself across clearly people are entitled to ask. I could have gave you an answer and you'd have came back with that wasn't what you meant. How can I answer something when it's not clear what the question is.}

01 Feb 2016 21:05:01
My point was clear to most posters i'd imagine Ed. A wee bit of snobbery on your part took it down a wrong road. Il accept your hug as a gesture of goodwill and likewise an olive branch is held out for you. Anyhoo Colin Kahim Richards. Discuss lol😂.

{Ed007's Note - If I didn't understand what you said it hardly makes me a snob - it actually makes me pretty thick by your reckoning if most other posters got it. Then again I was never any good at 3-2-1 either with their cryptic messages.}

01 Feb 2016 21:42:42
Exactly my thoughts ED. It wasn't until LG missed the penalty that I thought this isn't going to go for us. I honestly don't know how a manager can be blamed for yesterday - and I include the selection of Ambrose in that.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:39:31
As soon as the pen was given with the red card, for me that was it. Iv no confidence in this squad or management. The Manager has the responsibility to pick a team he thinks should win, therefor he has to take his portion of blame too. The player is responsible for his own actions on the field. Both are responsible for the mess we find ourselves in. As far as i'm concerned what we have is no where near good enough. But its only my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 22:52:35
If what we have is nowhere near good enough, then how can you blame the manager for who he picks?

I have no doubts that had we scored the penalty, we'd have gone on to (at least) take it to extra time.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 23:51:29
Well that should cheer us all up then. You have no doubts we couldve got to extra time. May aswell stick another star above the badge bcoz we couldve won the big one in 1970. And RD should be placed on eternal immunity from the sack aswell. He obviously has no say in the team selection, subs and tactics. Pathetic defense of a pathetic manager posted by a patheticpatient.

Since 2012, Peter Lawell and Co have done nothing but hinder and hamper the club and obliterate the enormous advantage that was presented to us when Rangers died.
Since WGS, we have went steadily backwards in terms of quality and standards in management and players and the recruitment policy [if any] beggars belief, replacing any asset that we were fortunate enough to attract to this football backwater, with cheap imitations and fakes.
The lack of total dominance domestically was bad enough, but we have now found a new low in European standing and performance.
The calibre of player we are signing is not just mediocre, but on occasion are unsettling and troublesome, to manager and team mates alike and very bad for moral.
There seems to be a distinct lack of leadership and respect right through the club and the fans are the only ones left to deal with the emotion, frustration and pain.
This is much more important than the bickering about Ronnie lovers and haters - we are in a crisis at present, caught in a downward spiral of poor decision making and severe lack of foresight caused by Lawell's arrogant complacency.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2016 18:24:04
I agree with every word of that Jungle Jim, arrogant complacency is a good phrase for it.
Since Rangers demise the sole aim of the club seems to be to just keep in front of the rest of the league rather than letting us grow.
I know it's not the done thing to say it, but if we're honest with ourselves it wouldn't take Rangers spending that much money to overtake us, and when you think of the advantages we've had over the last 4 years, that is nothing short of scandalous.
We just seem to assume that their financial woes will be there forever, it's as you say arrogant and complacent.
I think that the people running the club need to come off their padded seats, and go and mingle amongst the real supporters, then they might get some idea of the hurt that fans feel after performances like yesterday.

This Kazim-Richards signing is a real worry, it appears from what I understand that he really wanted to sign for Celtic, and Celtic have signed him. If I get a good agent maybe he could tell Celtic I really want to sign and i'll get a game. I'll juts go sit on the bench like all our other signings.

It seems we have about 70 players in our squad who are just draining money from the club, Lawell refuses to spend, but seems quite happy to let guys like Boerrigter do absolutely nothing for 10k a week. It's laughable.

There are surely players out there who would improve this squad if there was a scout in place with any sort of knowledge, guys on this site can name players who they feel would do a job and honestly i think they would do a better job than John Park.

The whole running of the club since Strachan left is alarming.
We are a testing ground for unproven and inexperienced managers, a short-stopover for any talent wanting to move to the EPL and an easy option for very poor or average players like Scepovic, Balde, Ciftci, Boerigter and Cole who drain our resources.
The supporters are being made a mug of and the club is being severely mismanaged on a downward spiral.

I wouldn't mind playing g tge same standard as the rest of the spl if the had the quality of player during fergusons mclean era but not for us too go backwards just to save money. the board love displaying quotes . if they ignore these two we are dead as a club . football is nothing without the fans. the fans are the lifeblood of the game .

{Ed007's Note - Let's look at Kazim Richards who turns 30 later this year. career:

- Since 2004 he has played for 11 different clubs.

- He has scored a paltry 53 goals in 366 matches.

- He has caused numerous problems at every club he has been at.

- He submitted a written transfer request at Brighton after being left out for ONE game.

- At Fenerbahce, he left under a very big cloud of shame after lying to the club about his whereabouts when he hit the town for a piss up whilst under a four game ban and then denied it, causing the club enormous embarrassment when they published those denials in a press release.

- Disciplined by Fenerbahce for having a very public spat with his own supporters, including using derogatory terms towards women and children.

- His antics at Feynoord are well known; after objecting to an article written about his performances he told the writer that he was “waiting outside” and that he would “put him to sleep.”

- In April 2014, he made football history in the UK by becoming the first ever player to be convicted, in court, of making a homophobic gesture to rival fans.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg - if he signs this would be our own version of El Hadj-Diouf.}

Bringing on Brown when we needed 2 goals. Cifti waste of money and we all knew it. Now Kazim who will be a liability. Ed who decides who we buy? Is it Parks only? Does Ronnie not have any say? He saw Cole train for 6 weeks. The lad had not played for 8 months. How was he ever going to get match fit? He can't even get on the bench. We have a fantasist Manager that hopefully won't last the rest of the season.

Its never nice to hear the support singing for the Manager to leave but it came from the stands yesterday.

If the rumours are true, he was supposed to be an Assistant and it's been evident since Murrayfield it wasn't working out. How it's been allowed to continue this far, I'll never know!

Yip Efe let the team down yesterday, but it's been a catalogue of excuses. We were second to most yesterday and yet again gubbed by a team of players who couldn't get a game for us.

Ronny never has been up to the job. And, if you're going to use 'what about Lennon' as a defence - I win.

I agree with you Mrs E - it doesn't matter if John Barnes or Jock Stein were the manager 2 years ago! After a poor start, I thought Ronny would grow into the job, I liked his ideas, he seemed progressive, like Lawwell says every week - he's a builder, a builder of things! Well the house seemed to be coming on quite nice then it fell down in August! You can have all the ideas in the world, if you can't turn it into something tangible then it's pointless! As I've said also, there's not even been any progress with Fitness, - the Italian teams that I watched as a kid we fitter, far stronger, far more powerful and far more organised than we are! You can only go on what you see with your own eyes, and as I've said before, John Hughes couldn't have done a worse job than Ronny. I'd like an old head in, we have a very young team, at the moment they are very very average in my opinion, but there should be improvement there, maybe an older/ experienced manager, a father figure type might be ideal! There's Swansea brought in another old school Italian manager (Guidolin) - that's him and Ranieri down there now! I said a few months ago about Prandelli.

Please tell me why efi let the team down, did he wipe the boy out? , did he pull off a sneaky wee move and hope not to get caught ? At first glance i thought there wasnt contact at all, but thr slightest touch and boy takes easy option, efi to blame? , how did the ball manage to get there in first place, efi again to blame? Easy option to blame efi again, why not take the rest of the team to task, ie players under performing let the team down ; and you can take your pick yesterday, for one thing I've always liked craig gordon but maybe its just me in thinking he could have stopped the 3rd goal ( near post, fair play boy hit it well enough but tryinv to pull of the acrobatic save ( diving backwards trying push ball over bar) when he could just stand and put his arm out! , armstrong totally underachieving, penalty worst I've seen for a while, like i say take your pick but to blame efi your having a laugh mrs e.

Ok let's be honest here it was a penalty and by default a red card but jesus we have enough talent to beat any team with only 10 men. We lacked leadership yesterday on and off the park. Ronnie has had his time he needs to go now and give us a manager who can get the team playing as a team again. Bring in moyes or lambert or stubbs god I'd even have Lenton back but this is bloody awful. Sorry for the language but I am angry. The guy who Efe pulled down was supposed to be marked by Lustig who didn't run with him, Johansen let the pass through and then Efe bumped into him. It's easy to blame Efe and he did have fault in the incident but that's an easy cover up for the rest of the incompetents. Lustig was at fault for the next two goals as well, he has cost us aload of goals this season but never is criticised. We have too many weaknesses in the team to be successful.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 09:22:09
Mrs E, your comments are fair. Ronny might not be the man for the job. I did not fancy him at the beginning and then felt he needed a fair run. However, no manager is going to achieve here as long as we keep selling off our best assets whenever someone (usually Southampton) jingles a few coins the Boards way.
I watched the highlights on TV last night and Lustig was the real problem at the penalty. Efe was silly and the ref had no other choice than penalty/ red card as the rules dictate this.
Ive always felt CG was a good reactive goalie but he rarely comes off his line and is poor at the basics of goalkeeping. The comment made about the spectacular dives is spot on.
The team as a whole did not turn up yesterday and there was no drive or passion. Usually when a team goes down to ten men they try that bit harder, not that lot. Even the LG penalty was poor. (I thought it was a soft one anyway)
Lets also not forget that Ross County went at this game like a cup final and kept running at us. They deserved their win, no question.
The game is now history along with Morton, Falkirk, QOS, Partick Thistle and all the others. It happens.
Now, we have a league title and a Scottish cup to win.
RD will be with us until the end of the season (unless HE chooses otherwise)

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 10:49:26
If there's anything a bad result guarantees these days it's that you come out the wood work Mrs. E :)

Hi, it's an interesting point the whole RD being an assistant thing. I've said in the past, the more I warmed to what he's about the more I thought that he MIGHT be a great coach under an older head with that bit more fire in his belly. Too many times characters go missing and let the side down in bigger games. RD was head coach at Stromsgodset though so for other reasons too, I'd like to see a DoF brought in who could be an influence in the dressing room too.

Efe is unreliable, yes there were faults in the build up but as a CB it's your job to have to deal with situations like that (simple headed passes to your goalie etc) . He made one high profile error too many ages ago. RDs hands were tied though. Simunovic was quite poor last time out but there must be something else kept him out. And calls to have started the new lad are just retrospective silliness.

Lustig. He's looked very exposed. There's been talk about him not wanting to play RB any longer? Don't blame him. I always preferred Matthews, thought he would be a loss. And with Janko being out and Lustig actually staying quite 'fit', he's had a bit of an extended run compared to in the past and it's taking it's toll. Perhaps, in a way having two RBs in Matthews and Lustig who couldn't play every game was a good thing.

Yesterday was minging. Just frustrating and awful. A bad day for football. There's still a double to play for though (I have never expected or demanded a treble) and u til the summer nobody should be going anywhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 10:54:01
Yesterday was not a surprise to many of us, as we have failed at semi finals several times in recent years and although most of these games contained a controversial incident or two, we were 'easy-beat' and heads dropped far too easily.
This team has a real lack of leadership, experience and character and contains too many bottlers and flatterers to deceive.
Yes, the sending off was a set-back and reversed the pattern of play, but we had plenty time to re-group and still had plenty possession, but lacked the quality, craft and confidence to score.
What we do lack are ball winners and muscle [especially up front] and how guys like Armstrong, Bitton, Johansen and Lustig in particular let us down was criminal.
Since the departure of Denayer and VVD it has shown real weakness in Lustig and Izzaguire and the players brought in to replace the centre backs are nowhere near as competent or effective.
Too many teams find it easy to score against us and the hapless Gordon is another reason for this but the manager can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Feb 2016 11:01:12
I thought the most telling thing yesterday was the substitution of Biton being replaced by Brown.
At the time we were 3-1 down and needed to change something to try and get back into the match, instead of being able to put on an attacking player, we had to use Brown just to try and get some leadership on the field, this to me says an awful lot about this team, there's no fight and no leaders, they are okay when hammering the Hamilton's and Dundee United's of this world, but as soon as any team either at home or abroad stands up to them, we fall apart.
That to me is how you judge a team, it's how they respond when the chips are down, with this team, nearly every time a team doesn't roll over and fights back against us, we don't seem to have a clue.
I'm not convinced at all that this management team can sort this out, we continually make the same mistakes in big matches, that second goal yesterday was typical, we let them get 2 free headers unchallenged in our own box, and this is Ross County we were playing whose best striker wasn't even playing.
These errors have plagued us for a while now, they've cost us dear in Europe, and it's costing us trophies at home. It seems to me that this management team don't seem to have any idea how to rectify these faults, I think that a shake up is badly needed.

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Feb 2016 11:27:56
They say a team reflects it's manager and for many years we had teams who would never give up and roll their sleeves up when faced with adversity, controversy or defeat and I have lost count of how many games we snatched in the closing stages with desire and stamina and never knowing when we were beaten.
The current team are too soft, generously giving and 'nice' and seem to make the same errors time and again, accepting defeat as part and parcel of a job that is just a wee bit too much for them.
Sound like anyone we know?

I'm no RD fan - I think he consistently takes off our beat player, picks his favourites even when they are playing poorly (especially Johanssen) and struggles change the course of a game, but the refereeing yesterday, yet again, was absolutely shocking. How that clown (and that is really putting it mildly) got the game, I really don't know. But his decision to send off Ambrose was a disgrace - and he looked like he was trying to keep the smile off his face when he brandished the red card: Gordon DEFINITELY had the ball covered so how Ambrose was denying a clear goal scoring opportunity, I just do not know. He also hardly even touched the guy and that what makes me absolutely sick about football these days - they seem to think that contact means a foul. Bull. To follow up by allowing the manhandling of Gordon to go unpunished is basically criminal. Well, it's just cheating, pure and simple. I'm convinced these referees have an ulterior motive and that the powers that be are doing all they can to prevent Celtic from winning whatever they can, but it has long since been beyond a joke. And they don't even make the refs explain themselves. Furious beyond words.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

01 Feb 2016 07:44:16
It was a penalty Andy, any contact in the centre of the box also gives the referee the chance to send you off, - we are simply naive. It's school boy errors every game, we don't learn. I say it every week on here, it's the softest Celtic team I've seen in 30 years! Even for the 2nd goal we got bullied all over the box! We all know what the refs are like! Stein said it 50 years ago for Gods sake - we have to be good enough to make it irrelevant what they do! If we had a Champions League qualifier tomorrow I'd be terrified! It's the same crap every week, the same excuses. The fans say the same things - why was Johanssen not taken off? Why does Ambrose play? Why can Gordon not come for a cross/ be braver? Do you think Peter Schmeichal would have been bullied like that yesterday? Ronny Deila makes all these decisions! It's not about yesterday, it's not about 1 European campaign, it's about the whole 18 months the manager has been here, and it's not been good enough! There's even fans on here raving away about knee jerk reactions - God knows where they've been hiding! Nothing has improved. I was expecting to see big differences by this stage when it came to fitness/ conditioning of players - I see teams every week who would run over the top of us! The youth policy is no better - below Teirney and Nesbitt there is loads of mediocrity still Nesbitt was always very highly rated, I watched him for the Scottish under 16's around 3 years ago, others in that team like young Joe Thompson who was the captain has went backwards! O'Connell hasn't come on, neither has Calvin Miller or a few others! My young cousin is at every development game and says you would not know there has been a change of manager, everything just seems the same at that level - very average! There is no conveyor belt of talent, well we haven't even replaced Stevie Frail. That was a great opportunity to get a top youth coach! For me, right through the club there has been no progress in nearly 2 years!

Their penalty was a penalty in my opinion but not a red card. The second was obviously just disgraceful too. The third goal was just bad defending from us and we also missed a penalty to get us back in the game. The referee was poor but so were the team and as much as the ref deserves to be criticised it shouldn't be used as a shield to protect our underwhelming and underachieving players. Tierney and maybe Craig Gordon got pass marks for me but it shouldn't be up to a teenager to lead by example and show some heart and determination.

Kevbhoy I agree it probably was a penalty, that Thompson gave Celtic a pen for a more blatant tackle on Griffiths against Aberdeen when he had only to tap the ball into an empty net . He didn't send off the Aberdeen player. Efe shouldn't have been sent off either and probably wouldn't if he wasn't such a target from so many of our "fans" Thompson knew he would get away with sending Efe off .

Old Bhoy, it was a penalty. The penalty we got gifted was not deliberate hand ball. Stop looking for excuses every time. We were awful. No fight, no tackles, no defending. Unorganised, can't break teams down just awful. So stop the hard luck stories and wake up. When Celtic win you tell us how great the manager is. When we lose its the players. Let me tell you it's both. It's Upto Ronnie to sort it out and he can't do it. That's the bottom line.

Johhnmac, we were beaten yesterday and I didn't blame the players but I doubt if many teams could have played 75 mins 10 against 12 . Having said that if Griffiths had scored the penalty we would have an exciting finish . Of course any player can score a penalty and any player can miss one too.

We were the masters of our own downfall today regardless. However how many times are we going to allow Craig Thomson to blatantly and it seemed to me openly rile the Celtic players. They should know by that he will at the first opportunity book or red card Celtic players. He will overlook poor rash challenges by opposition multiple times and book Celtic players for complaining. Any attempt to speak to him or approach him are completely dismiss with a wave of the hand, scowl or just completely ignored. There are too many instances that are clear to see and I refuse to believe that he is that incompetent! To not give the decisions as he did actually takes skill to ensure that you don't. 5 yellow cards and a red card. Ross County were physical and bullied Celtic at times but were given licence by the refereeing actually encouraged. Today reminded me of a game he refereed between Celtic and the dead club where he booked 8 Celtic players and sent 2 off all the while being booted up and down the park. I understand refs are human and of course will get things wrong. To get so many decisions wrong against the one club continually is conscious incompetence.

To summarise, what a delusional paranoid post that is, utter dross.

Is this the same ref that allowed the Aberdeen centre half to escape with a yellow card after pulling Leigh Griffiths down in the six yard box?

Yes it was . His general protection of Celtic players was v poor over the 90 mins.

Everyone is saying it is not the maagers fault when an individual player makes a mistake. However no manager would ever lose his job, because in the end all managers get fired because individual players make mistakes. The best managers have training and coaching in place that restricts mistakes therefore wins them . more matches especially the big ones. RDs record in the most important games is very poor that is why he so citicised.

It is a sad fact and it has been said before

We have a soft centre
We have no leadership
We make repetitive mistakes
Has the passing improved in terms of making the right pass of an incisive pass
Have we developed any one players to play off our sole striker
Do we have strength and depth behind our sole striker
What is our contingency when sole striker gets injured
What is it about CG and bravery
What do our defenders work on on the training field because it certainly isn't man marking or positional intelligence
Why do we line up with a system that demands 2 wingers and play with one
Why is it that our only bright spot this year is a spotty 18 year old
Why is nir bitton rated so highly
Why do people want the irrepressible lustig as a ball winning gladiator at centre half when he is lightweight and a big scardey cat at the best of times
What happened to stefan
How many more Maribor Ajax Malmo legia moldes can we bear
Are semi final knock outs to highlanders the new craze for CFC
Why do we rarely select the same eleven

The truth is that we are now a show ground / a circus act
This isn't about winning. It is about perennial rebuilding and passing second rate players off as Celtic players

We have no core assets really and it looks like a downward spiral

We have players that don't head the ball with conviction
Who don't tackle with heart
Who can't handle the big occasion
Who don't know how to win when the chips are really down

RD isn't kidding is on. PL is kidding us on and he has played it wonderfully
We cannot even agree on what CFC should be and could be
PL has half of us scunnered and the other half thinking its an RD conspiracy
Just enough of us to ENDORSE the current status of RANK AVERAGE because make absolutely no mistake that is what we are RANK AvERAGE

We may have a 17 and 18 year old joining us next. Whatever next?

A profitable playground for youth that presents scope for a tidy little profit with COACHES managing the talent pool for others to feed off

What happened to us?

Who will run through a brick wall for you Ronny? Answers on a post card please

Alas it could have been worse. effin Ambrose could have been wearing gloves and the midfield quartet tights, a bunch of posers who will be tucked up in their beds this evening without a care in the world dreaming of pastures new

How bad are we! Well even wee super sub James Forrest is delaying a decision on a new 4 year contract in the forlorn hope that Ayr United will make a last ditch effort to nab him? That deal should be pay as you play with 500 per match and 50 smackers for a cross that goes beyond the first man and 100 for a goal. Let's make it a tenner for every completed pass and go all out to incentivise the lad

We need to wake up as we are sleepwalking from mediocrity to laughing stock and fewer millions in the bank to dog ourselves out of our slumber

Imagine if Aberdeen actually did win the league?

Perish the thought

PS thought the big Dane looked alright.
