Just watched the highlights, and unless it was from where I was sitting in the upper South tier I'm sure I saw that thug mcculloch elbow wee griffiths? Or even hauling down guidetti? Or maybe, just maybe they just wouldn't show a blatant assualt, on a happier note, heard a few guys walking back from the game disappointed it wasn't 5.6.or even 7 -0 me I'll take 2-0 every time, scored 2 goals gave them nothing, and the whole viewing public bound to have heard the only thing that still resembles there old club is their undesirable rabble of fans singing their tribal trash yet again . Well done the bhoys let's keep it going

I was absolutely chuffed with that result, they were totally dominant on a dreadful pitch.
I thought Virgil van djik and scott Brown were a class apart.
There was a time when some of those refereeing decisions would have cost us the match, but luckily today it only helped them keep the score down.
I was really pleased for Ronny Deila, he must have really felt the pressure leading up to this match, but he set the team up well, and although there wasn't much free flowing football due to the pitch, we never gave them a sight of our goal, and we looked the only team who were ever going to score.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

C. Thompson stood between them and a hammering . thank God nobody was injured.

Just a sidenote, thank goodness for GREEDY Commons.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah Rayman it was a sweet strike and he made Simosen work on another couple of occasions, still don't think we should break the bank to keep him though.

He did have a great game though, he knows how to suck people in and wins fouls if nothing better is on but does he have the legs for inter game or any other big teams is the sticking point for me. Hope he proves me wrong and goes on from here ripping it up.

Agree0 Disagree1

We were never going to break the bank with a new deal to keep him? even paying him till the end of his contract. or even the wages for his wanted deal wouldn't result in the ceo's roughin it with a tbone instead of kobe steak! i'm delighted with the result but he still has to play well consistently and be versatile when asked. he hasn't done that yet. after tomorrow he has the chance to prove he can till the end of the season and you know what? he may play out his skin but I don't think he will get a decent wage/starting 11 contract. ill get hounded but I think he is getting past it and has shone in the eyes of some because he has rattled a few shots at and over at 5-5-1 defences, or better when he links up. come next season who (and god forbid, without signings) will he put out the team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rayman its not often we agree, but end of day goals win games. Never heard any chelsea fans complaining when lampard regularly scored

well done to the mighty hoops today. we took the foot off the pedal in the 2nd half and strolled through the game like it was a practice match.
Brow and Bitton especially stood out. Griffiths deserves a mention for his work and the defence held it together well.
in saying that, "the rangers" brought nothing to the table, the ref never helped matters and the followers of the manky mob still sing from the same hymn book as before.
the only thing that they can look forward to is knowing deep down that if they make the playoffs, motherwell will lie down to them and let them play against the big boys.
this will only happen if they don't get liquidated first. but if not, they will surely be relegated at the end of their first season.

I have been following Celtic for almost 50 years and I can quite honestly say 's performance today was the WORST refereeing I have ever seen in a Celtic V Manky Mob game and I can assure you I have seen plenty.
The question is will he now be relegated from SPFL matches for a few games and maybe get some Championship games where his shoite decisions can maybe affect how the Manky Mob can improve their league position?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

01 Feb 2015 21:31:15
If I was paranoid or into football related conspiracy theories I could look at today and realistically think that the ref deliberately disrupted the flow of the game and did what he could to avoid a doing. Not to help out Celtics opponents but to avoid any fan unrest aimed at Celtic fans or their opponents board members. But I'm not that way inclined. Maybe he just had a bad day. We'll never know, he is literally employed as a liar in his day job too!

AS - I agree he was dreadful in an extremely incompetent manner.
The impact on us was lessened because we won the game. Like yourself I've seen many, many matches against them, but other blatantly biased Refs have cost us Cup Finals and lost us League Championships. Today was embarrassingly poor but the only loser was that Ref's credibility.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the SFA would say he did good but we all know different and I am sure if UEFA was there he would not have done his case any good to referee a top game Maybe he should have thought of that before the game. Or maybe he has no ambition in the game?

Broonie was immense today really knows how to get under the oppositions skin while sticking to the rules of the game.

He bossed the midfield and broke up most of their attacks.

What about Big Thugullochs stamp on guidetti do we expect to see a video review panel taken the same action that was taken against Diego Costa, I think not. You could review Mccullochs games to see if he actually ever plays football.

Do you think Black had a wee flutter on the mighty hoops, I counted 6 free kicks he had in decent postions and not once finding a man and Broony had him in his pocket in open play so he had no chance of finding a pass then; not that I think he is capable of playing one, a very average to hopeless level of player.

Agree2 Disagree0

That was BRILIANT

Thought we played the game the right way with a hectic February schedule, put the game out of reach in the first half and turned the tempo down a bit in the 2nd half. Could have been, should have been more but game won and in the final.

An observation about the Rangers team and some of the support (not all), my goodness how the mighty have fallen. Actually grateful if wasn't a cricket score - we are supposed to be their hated rivals and they are accepting this. Hand on heart I haven't seen much of them at all recently but good grief, I can see why they are boycotting etc. They are nothing but a pay cheque now from the so called owners to your Kenny Miller (pitiful today) and Kris Boyd's, I'd be screaming to git them tae as well. Och well

Hearing today that Dundee Utd also prefer 'our' end of Hampden but not sure how that will go?

I am warming to Ronny and love his celebrations at the end, magic!

Expect Dundee at Dens Park to be a tougher game next week in the Scottish Cup (I'm actually saying a Dundee fixture will be tougher than the Ibrox Club, who'd of thought it)

We won the game. They won the sectarian singing.
Not a peep from the authorities or broadcasters - so far - on the offensive repertoire that has followed the dead team to the replica (far inferior) outfit, but what do you expect? McCulloch is a thug and a coward but gets protection from a predictably biased 'official'.

The game was totally controlled and marshalled by the majestic Scott Brown even allowing for a horrendous playing surface - a disgrace for a national stadium - and the deliberate hampering stoppages of a referee intent on penalising Celtic at every turn.

Yes, it would have been nice to have added a few more and watch half the stadium evacuate in shame, but to make them wait the 93 or so minutes as they were completely outplayed, out-fought and out manoeuvred was just as satisfying.

I had doubts about Biton before the game as I thought it may have been too physical, but I stand well and truly corrected as he was immense along with Brown, Commons and the rest of the team.

Dundee Utd will offer a much more difficult game and have a lot of good talent at their disposal and will not wish to part with anyone before the deadline; or will Lawell and Co reward RD with a signing or two?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Thought every one of our players were outstanding today. Special mentions to Brown and Bitton though. Said I would have Ryan Jack over Bitton during the week and eating my words now.

I think RD told the team at half time to just control the game and not to embarrass them too much.

Agree1 Disagree1

I have to be honest Jim, I never heard their singing or couldn't make it out. The noise at our end never let up.

Just wondered what everyone thought of Nir BIton? When I saw him on the lineups next to Brown in that deep midfield role I feared the worst because I thought his lack of physicality plus the dreadful pitch would leave him very very exposed. However his ball retention and even some of his defensive work was fantastic. I just think that if he bulked up a bit and was more aggressive in 50-50 situations he would be a quality midfield player.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Thought he strolled the game, never wasted a pass, kept it simple and I actually forgot 'players' like Ian Black were in their midfield.

Agree1 Disagree0

Just goes to show the very important skill of not givin the ball away is just as important if not more important than being flashy as hell. Was that too many importants lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mrs WE Ian Black was the player that was constantly on the floor even the wind blowing him over merited a foul

Can you imagine Wembley Arena being allowed to get into the dreadful state Hampden was in? The pitch was shocking, Scott Brown made that clear.
The Ref was predictably blatantly anti Celtic.
We bossed from start to finish, we cruised it, and made them glad to hear the final whistle. Well done Celtic, and Ronnie, I love your fist pumps!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Was a poor game congrats on the win but no team bossed that game how many celtic passes made a man?

Agree2 Disagree6

Wit no team bossed that game are you sure the rangers had 0 shots on target and Celtic should have won by at least 4 and if the ref had done his job properly the rangers would have lost Lee "elbow's" McCulloch for the assault on Griffith's

Agree2 Disagree1

Hey Laytex, away and boil yer heid and get back to Sevconia. Celtic were not at their best today but still well and truly bossed the game. What it did show is 'The Rangers' are a million miles away from even finishing top six in the SPL never mind challenging us. If it wasn't for your 12th man today trying his best to spoil the game at every blow of the whistle, it would have been humiliating for Sevco. by the way, nice choice of supporters songs today, really showed you all up for what you really are.
Black is a cheat and McCulloch is an absolute thug and the rest of your team are just garbage, end of!
Scotty Brown, take a bow son, what a performance! Fought tooth and nail for every ball but not once put in a dirty tackle. Well done for the whole team not to rise to the hacking semi pro's we played today.
Well pleased tonight but I hope we don't meet them again in the Scottish as I'm convinced after today, we don't need this fixture.
Mon The Hoops!!

Job done with something to spare. According to Keevins we should be unhappy at not scoring more, anybody agree? In the second half I thought we read the game brilliantly and played them out. What made it more impressive was the shocking refereeing, I swear he was told to make sure they never got a bloody good hiding.

From the crazy decision to stop Griffiths running in on the goalkeeper, pulling it back for a foul on Broony, to the gifting of almost every 50-50 going the way of sevco it was poor. McCulloch blatantly elbows a player in the back of the head, right next to the lino no less, to the same player hauling Guidetti on the edge of the box it was awful.

The pitch was a disgrace into the bargain and we had to alter our game to suit, clever move given we were two up and in no danger. I would say if we had a good pitch we would have given them a hiding, sure of it.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Agree with all of that GJ. Looked like McCulloch stamped on JG while he was on the floor. He even took Brown out after that and still won them a free kick?

Keevins is a ducking flick lol no other way 2 describe him he's a bitter old fud

I was slightly frustrated with the second half performance because they were so far ahead in the first half it was embarrassing. But overall delighted and hopefully pitch is sorted for a tougher match against United. Well done ronny and team

Just wanted to say Ed a thought Scott Brown had his best game ever in a Celtic jersey

Ditto that for Biton who cruised through the game

VVD looked every bit the £8-£10 mill defender

Craig Gordon could have been directing traffic outside Hampden it would have given him more to do!

Refuse to end on a sour note so tackle this now McCulloch should face some action for what he done against Griffiths OR Guidetti!

But just wanted to say there no need to gloat over the team that plays out of ibrokes better to celebrate among your own with a feeling of pride and with that say I hope you enjoy the remainder of your Ed this is a fantastic avenue/site to vent/praise/joke/air views and glean "nuggets" of info am sure there days am sure you must be demented lol regurgitating OUR views but it must have it's good days on days like this when we ALL enjoy being here mate!

so to you 002 / 001 keep up the great work mate and let's just saviour the moment content amid our own

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much Jamie, we appreciate that. I thought Brown and Biton were immense in there today but the whole team done themselves proud without resorting to the shameful and dirty tactics of their lower league opponents. Most smaller teams park the bus against us which makes it difficult to break down, our opponents today decided to go with the kicking anything that moves approach.
At least our noisy neighbours have been put in their place, their delusions of grandeur were becoming annoying rather than funny. HH.}

01 Feb 2015 15:51:29
Totally disgusted with that today. I have honestly never seen a performance like that in years. Not a very happy man. But enough about the gardeners at hampden, Well done to Rd and the team against a difficult championship team where we could a won by 5/6. A real quality addition up front and we could beat teams 5/6 I think but not on a pitch like that.SFA should hold their heads in shame with the world watching. An ideal opportunity to promote Scottish football and they come up with a pitch like that.

01 Feb 2015 15:44:35
Well done RD & the team, A very professional performance on a pathetic playing surface. Not once did I feel they were a threat, Any balls that did come into our box in the first half Gordon commanded his area well. The defence held their line well and were composed throughout. Broony bossed the midfield & Biton again was outstanding, Nice simple football and everything came through him. for me he doesn't get the credit he deserves he allows Broony to do what he does, They are forming a very good partnership. Have no doubts the scoreline would have been more had this game been played on a pitch worthy of hosting a semi final. Now onto the ref. His decision to award a freekick for a foul when he should have played advantage for Griffiths was a disgrace, As was his decisions not to book Elbows for fouls on both Griffiths & Guidetti. Would have liked more goals but happy with the result even though I had us to win at -2, Again well done to RD I hope now the support can get right behind him. Let's keep the feel good factor going and add Armstrong and GMS tomorrow and look forward to the Inter games, They lost 3-1 today. Have a safe night Bhoys and Ghirls. YNWA

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Just like I said McCulloch would get away with elbowing always does. Black went down the the slightest of touches HH for Broony for sorting him out at the end! Their onlychance at goal was more like a scuffed cross by Wallace. Should have been by more from first half but at least we can all go in to work with smiles on our faces tomorrow HH

Agree1 Disagree0

Although totally dominant I'm sure the goals would have come on a better surface bt86. It was more like a training exercise I think we could have raised our game tenfold had we needed to. RD & the Team has done their bit. Over to you PL. HH

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree 2nd half we did treat it like a training game just kept things simple. They tried there best to make it dirty but thought the team held themselves together really well with a cheeky challenge but deserved one by Broony at the end

Although brown got man of the match, for me Bitton was outstanding everything he did was class.killy.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I've not seen anything from Biton to justify his selection . until today. He looked comfortable and even occasionally passed the ball forward. A few slick moves also. A mature performance for sure.

2-0 will do. Pitch was in terrible condition and a couple of very dubious decisions (expected) but now we have to meet a team in the final who will present a serious challenge. nice warm up for final

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Without doing anything totally egregious, the ref managed to put in a rotten performance. The Guidetti thing was directly followed by a succession of dangerous free-kicks for Rangers, on what basis I'll never know. Celtic were in second gear today and won comprehensively. That's a positive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Knew Thomson would favour them always does! McCulloch should be off and Thomson doesn't know about playing an advantage yet he is meant to be Scotlands top referee!?

It looks comfortable at the moment at 2-0 but I must comment on Craig (honest mistake) Thomson, who has not disappointed. He has given the team in blue every 50/50 decision and numerous free kicks for nothing.
We should win very comfortably but this guy is under instruction to make it not too comfortable.
Thomson is another in a long list of liars and cheats and so typical of what is rotten in Scottish football.

the only certainty today is Ronnie won't get praise, if we scrape a 1-0 itll be, we should be hammering this mob and its a disgrace we didn't and when we do hammer them itll be what more were you expecting gulf in money etc etc, so before the press and a section of our own get jnto him after the game, i'd like to say I will be congratulating him on getting to his first final

{Ed001's Note - I don't appreciate having to remove sectarian crap - one and only warning you will get or you will get a lifetime ban! Such a pathetic and imbecilic comment anyway, you should be ashamed of yourself.}

Won't be an annihilation but hope it's comfartable and everyone stays safe. I for 1 can't wait for it to be over
