02 Aug 2017 09:18:35
Score draw would do fine. a win the icing on the cake.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 09:34:16
Obviously the return of Griffiths will be a boost but I hope BR plays McGregor as well as they both could make all the difference from the first leg and as long as we keep a clean sheet, we should have enough about us.
PS: an announcement re Roberts signing would be perfect right about now.

I fancy 4-1 think our team has a point to prove.

3-1 win.

01 Aug 2017 22:56:34
I've just looked at the Norwegian Eliteserien table and Rosenborg have dropped 16 points in 17 games already this season! This mob are for the taking tomorrow night.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

01 Aug 2017 23:36:34
That also means they are 17 games further ahead in match sharpness and match fitness.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 23:54:12
It means we're a cut above and match sharpness shouldn't be used as an excuse if we fail to get the job done tomorrow night.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 00:39:57
How does it mean we are a cut above, we haven't played 17 games yet, we might drop 17 points, unlikely I know, but unless you analyse every one of their games, I don't think you should by swayed by their record, maybe they played some poorer teams and relaxed too much and lost points, I thought they were still top of their league, so they must be doing something right, maybe they are so good, they put out their second string when they play lower league teams, who knows, just don't jump to conclusions.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Aug 2017 01:11:44
Come on Aindoh, they're average and we made them look slightly above average last week. I can say with absolute certainty that we wouldn't drop 16 points in 17 games in Norway. We just went through an entire campaign dropping 8 points in a better league. I'm not tempting fate and saying we'll definitely win but we absolutely should be in that play-off draw after tomorrow night and if we're not then serious questions need to be asked of the players and the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 02:30:56
A cut above means we have better players and manager so despite the how many games there I to there session we are a better team all round ( a cut above ) hh.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 07:51:02
We were far from our best in the first leg. Gerry raises a point down the page, it's hard to tell, and quite ignorant, but I'm going to guess that was one of their better performances going of results as Kev points out domestically, and even against Dundalk. The top and bottom is, if we're as good as we say we are, and are a CL side, we should be getting past Rosenborg, no matter what stage of the season they're at - plenty of other CL sides can do it. I think we will.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 08:27:40
Jim Tim totally agree with you. If we can't beat teams like Rosenborg convincingly over 2 legs then we have not come very far. I would play Armstrong and McGrrgor in midfield to start with. Goals in both of them and i think we will need 3 goals to go through tonigbt. They will score. Also don't think Griff will be 100% so he may not start. Would leave Ajar at the back as well. Its going to be tight.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 09:27:34
They scraped past Dundalk JMac, and if that's anything to go off, I'd expect us to wipe the floor with Dundalk. I think we definitely have the better players going off the first leg. I'd play McGregor and Armstrong too in a 4231 with Brown as the anchor (wouldn't oppose to Kouassi there off what I've seen) . I think the energy of McGregor and Armstrong will be important there. Like you say they can both run into attacking areas, but also get back and help out with stopping Rosenborg's wide men. I've watched a few of their goals and they're very much a case of getting to a crossing position and trying to hit Bendtner, and we know they have to come at us a bit more. The Balkan winger (Jevtovic? ) looks a bit of a threat too. Nothing we shouldn't be able to deal with. Set pieces concern me though. I'd also stick with Ajer too. He captained a side at that level and I was impressed by him in the first leg, a very composed young player and handled Bendtner quite well. Same again young man.

My team tomorrow be

Gordon
Lustiq Jozo ajer KT
Brown Armstrong
Hayes mcgregor sinky
Grifff

Plenty energy and pace there something will be required big tom love him as a player but think might be one those games he could be needed to come onto fresh in 2nd half produce some magic Like in the Scots cup final.

Davies saying Griff is fit 😆. What team would people go for tomorrow? For me,

Gordon

Lustig
Ajer
Jozo
Tierney
McGregor
Brown
Armstrong
Rogic
Sinclair
Griffiths

Probably a sort of a 4321 shape to cover their wide players with the energy of McGregor and Armstrong.

Pretty much the same as u JJPD! But I'd have Hayes over Forrest! Really hope we can nick a wee early goal! Surely can't play as Shoite as we did last week!

Agree3 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 19:27:12
I wouldn't be surprised if Griffiths starts on the bench, I think Rodgers might try to get the job done without him and bring him on if we are in trouble.
It's difficult to know what to expect tomorrow, when you know very little about these teams it's hard to know if last week they played out of their skins, if they are a really good side, or if we were just awful on the night.
We should remember though, that they only beat Dundalk in extra time in the last round, so we really shouldn't have anything to fear, if we could score early on, I think they would have a mountain to climb.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 19:43:20
Sensible words Gerry. I'd start LG on the bench. If we need him 2nd half he's there.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 14:28:18
I've got a squeaky bum about tomorrow for some reason maybe it's just my natural tendency towards pessimism but hope this feckn Rosenberg moment doesn't turn into a Kopparberg (or 3) moment! ☘️.

Seen an article this morning saying Celtic aren't training at Rosenborgs ground before the match. Why would this be? You wouldn't be working on tactics or anything important at an opponents ground it would be a light session at most.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

01 Aug 2017 11:26:19
Is it not an artificial pitch to? Would have thought Brendan would have wanted the players to get a feel for it to be honest! Seems a strange one.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 11:34:12
I'm sure we've had it explained on here before that the away team is always entitled to train at the home stadium the night before a European match so that they can get a feel for the pitch etc. Someone might be able to correct me if I'm wrong though.

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 12:23:36
As far as i know it was our decision not too train on it for whatever reason.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 12:26:20
Sorry, I completely misread the OP. Thought you said it was odd that we ARE training at the ground. That is unusual if we've decided not to bother.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 12:38:42
Perhaps a different psychological approach? I can't think of any other reason not to familiarise the players with the stadium.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 14:15:46
We have a great deal riding on this tie and I would hope we get the preparation and selection spot-on.
BR must have a good reason for this change of protocol and we do have several players not quite up to speed or full fitness and he may be being cautious and canny?

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 15:10:30
Its a plastic pitch. Maybe with Griff and Eric coming back from injury he does not want to risk any further injury? Or is Griff not fit to start and he can't train so he does not want to give selection away?

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Aug 2017 09:43:33
more gobbledygook from rodgers.

I used to live in Springfieldback in the 1990s. Quite a few times about back then and I done my bit spreading the gospel of Tim as much as I could. Not sure if it's still open but the newsagent near the old borough council office used to stock the Celtic news and had it on view on the shelf.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2017 23:50:09
I MIGHT upset some people with this but.
I am now of the opinion we should punt Moussa, he has another hamstring injury (2 bad ones in months) maybe he has a weakness there like Forrest had a couple of years ago, so if we can get £25m+ I say TAKE IT, as long as another striker is brought in to help Griffiths.

Believable8 Unbelievable5

01 Aug 2017 02:16:37
I hope am wrong and the troops smell paranoia but md has been injured since before c/ l qualies so for me that means don't wanna cup tie the Bhoy if we don't get through then we get bigger transfer fee I will stick my hands up and say I don't Kno the test for this but I'm an offy suspicious person HH hope I'm a para pants 💚💚💚.

Agree1 Disagree3

01 Aug 2017 08:43:09
He can't be cuptied until he plays in group stages.

Agree4 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 09:36:39
The first half of last season he was a revelation and his performances/ goals (along with Sinky) set us up for our record breaking season, however he has since, missed too many games with recurring injury and the speculation of a big move may also have unsettled and distracted him.
Unfortunately it seems no matter what bright talent we introduce or help develope - they may never have a 'career' at Celtic and the only avenue is maximising valuation and timing a sale that suits the club?

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 10:16:48
Whos gonny buy him if he's constantly injured the bhoy will come good.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 10:55:17
Once a bhoy, that's pretty much the only finacial model that works at our level. EPL et al have ruined the game and the sooner it all comes crashing down the better for 'sport'.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 11:00:04
we must have some of the biggest fair weather fans in football. F me dembele scored a old firm hatrick and a champions league double. ah punt him he has been injured twice. last week it was rodgers getting it this week moussa for being injured.

Agree1 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 11:48:46
Chelsea paid Real Madrid £50-£60 million pounds for Morato, and now Conte says he is not fit enough, and Conte says " we didn't pay a lot for him, only £50-£60 million"

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 11:49:06
JJPD - what is the "old firm" you speak of?

I actually agree with Tim on this one. He is now on injury number 4 this year (Sevco away 31 December, Dundee away, Scottish Cup semi and Linfield home) having only managed 20 out of 38 SPFL games last season.

Not being fickle but feel that if we get a decent offer that will allow us to replace him and get Roberts and a new centre half in and a profit it is worth considering. I don't expect his price to increase over the next 12 months and that is the reason why I would consider selling.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 15:49:02
Shandybhoy, Dembele played against Lynnfield, so I don't think he'll be being left out to stop him being cup tied.
I remember last season he took a while to get up to speed, maybe he needs to look after himself a bit better over the close season.
