So it's confirmed, Sky Sports are paying £100m over 5 seasons for the Scottish football rights. Also confirmed the EFL will get a deal worth £595m over the same duration. Our game is so undervalued and I'm disappointed BT didn't win the rights to Scottish football as they put more of an effort into pre match build up and actually care about the game. I can see there being some strange kick off times with Sky to accommodate for the teams down south.

Think that includes the league Cup as well though but not sure.

It’s a funny thing but the Daily Record has a headline that says ‘Celtic AGM could spring awkward questions for Brendan Rogers and Peter Lawwell’. This might seem a bit paranoid to some but given the disparity in the clubs performances both on and off the pitch, I’d have thought there are a lot more potentially embarrassing questions that could be asked at the forthcoming Sevco AGM. However, for reasons only known to the stenographers, they chose to ignore that and concentrate on Celtic. Like I said, it’s probably just paranoia.

There should be awkward questions for the 2 of them. Summer transfer window was a shambles.

Couldn't give a feck what happens at the Zombies AGM.

The summer window was definitely a shambles. For dembele to be sold and no replacement lined up beforehand is a joke for a club our size.

Dembele was a last minute ‘toys out the pram’ situation which BR dealt with superbly. To get £20 million at that stage was a result. I suspect PL played a big part in that as well. We may have lined up a replacement had our crystal ball been more accurate. We broke our incoming and outgoing transfer records, whilst picking decent fees for Armstrong and Sviatchenko. We picked up a couple of decent midfielders in Arzani, Mulumbu and Morgan and a couple of great defensive acquisitions in Benkovic and Izaguirre. Add to that a pretty decent goalkeeper and close on £20M profit and that’s good business. I’m sure there’s a load of you on your PlayStations that can bring in higher profile players but unfortunately that doesn’t reflect reality. You’ll never see it reported like this in the Dailly Record so it’s up to you to decide what is a more accurate description of the situation.

We are apperently a club in crisis. But we will never go bust. Love or Loathe PL he keeps the club in profit and a solid business. Summer window uninspiring. But sometimes better to hold than bust.

Coybig all I'm saying is to let a top player leave with no replacement lined up is amateurish. We should have targets lined up incase anyone leaves never mind our top striker. It's not hard to have the feelers out all the time is that not what congerton is supposed to do? Agents give lists to clubs of players willing to move are you trying to say that there was no player available even on loan that could back up or even challenge eddy and griff.

{Ed007's Note - Dembele had told Celtic he was staying right up until the last day of the window and there simply wasn't enough time to get a replacement in without going down the Carlton Cole or Colin Kazim-Richards route of signing rubbish just to make up the numbers.
It wasn't long ago this site was full of people saying we didn't need a 3rd striker and that the Edouard loan was a waste of time.}

Thanks Ed. Signing someone on deadline day because someone else leaves is amateurish. Liverpool did it with Andy Carrol and it was a disaster. We couldn’t afford a disaster like that. Congerton will be constantly talking to scouts and agents about players and that’s how we’d end up with Benkovic, Mulumbu etc. If you think it’s easy to find a striker who could challenge Griff and French Eddy, you don’t realise how good they are.

{Ed007's Note - Lawwell made a lot of mistakes during the last window (as did Rodgers and Congerton to an extent) but I really don't think any of them should shoulder any blame for what happened with Dembele.}

No-one thought dembele would leave on the last day but would a 6 month loan for a man city etc project have been out the question? what if eddy got injured last month?
