Moyes seem to being a decent job at West Ham. But no Lennon first. The Yes Man!

I’m not buying into the bookies favourite Eddie Howe because he’s been available all season and if he was a realistic target, a deal would’ve been done by now.

20 Jan 2021 10:46:37
I ask why EH has not been snapped up already?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 11:30:37
He's now bookies favourite for the Newcastle Job.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 15:24:50
Didn’t a reporter interviewing lennie mention that the job was his until the end of the season.
Another calamitous decision, if we were going to change we need to give them time to bed in and see what the players are like, who wants to go etc. I agree with buzz that if Howe was the man we wanted we would have made a move, managers always get sacked in the prem around now. If we wanted him why would they wait? Or it could be the old lawell story, we tried everything to get him but could not match the finances offered in the prem. The longer it drags on, the more I think it will be Kennedy or Ross at best.

Damarai Gray from Leicester City available for 1.8M now or pre contract and free in the summer.

24yrs old and a winger - worth a punt?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

19 Jan 2021 21:55:44
Pedro, Leicester’s speedy wee number 7.
He’s not had a look in this season for Leicester but he would be a bargain.
I can remember watching him last season missing a penalty and then going on to score later in the game.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 22:19:59
I'd take him in a heartbeat for £1.8M.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 22:26:38
Good player but I'd imagine out of our wage bracket. Spurs supposedly interested in him.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 08:12:14
The rat might just do us a favour, great player, get him up on loan and have a look.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 17:15:59
I would be wary of any favours from him. Don’t forget, he rates McGregor.

I love Tommy Sheridan’s passion for our club in his latest Celtic video.

Scott Brown's press conference today he mentioned that part of his job would be to try and get the boys bouncing for the game at Livingston tomorrow.
Why doesn't one of those so called journalists ask where has the bounce been so far this season. So flat, lacking in imagination and creativity. Severe lack of drive and fighting spirit. No structure or game plan. So many players have let the fans and themselves down this season.

Ed.
I would like to praise you for making your Celtic site enjoyable over the last 10 years.
I respect the way you haven't pushed Neil Lennon under the bus at any time this season.
You probably want a change like most Celtic fans but you've always showed dignity with your responses.
You made it clear you didn't think Lennon was the correct permanent appointment after Celtic clinched our Treble Treble.
And it's been proved your judgement was correct but never once have you mentioned "I told you so" to fans like myself who wanted Lennon to get the job full time.
I just want to finish off by saying your family must be proud of you for all your efforts and for what you achieve every year for your local food bank.
Only the best get to the Testimonial years.
Keep up the good work.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Gee, BB thanks very much for that mate. I'm blushing now lol but it's nice to be appreciated 👍 As I always say, it's not my site - it's ours as it would be nothing without all the posters and the foodbank collecting is all down to your generosity as well.}

19 Jan 2021 19:43:43
Buzz mate, that was a terrific post and sums up Ed007 to a tee. and Ed your humble manner is a breath of fresh air. Keep up the terrific work mate. hail hail lads.

Nice to hear something positive for a change that’s not a result of a C.V. test! Seriously though I echo last posters sentiment, we might not achieve the ten this year but well done on achieving yours.

Whilst I’m not a Celtic fan (or a fan of any Scottish club for that matter) , I do like to come and read Celtic’s page to get fans insight as to what’s happening.

Having visited and read this page for a while, may I also extend my best wishes and thanks to Ed007 for keeping a great page going.

{Ed007's Note - Thanks very much.}

19 Jan 2021 20:45:29
Well said Buzz; it sums up what we all (well 99%) appreciate about this site and how it is run. To think 007 was seriously considering chucking it a couple of years ago anaw?! All those moans, debates and toys tossed out the pram you would have missed - not to mention the decade-ending disastrous decline unbelievably unfolding day-by-day.
Anyway it was a refreshingly genuine post Buzz and a welcome break away from all the negativity that is choking our club to it's knees.

God Bless Ed 🙏🏻🍀 Times are very hard for people at the moment and what you do for the food bank is fantastic. I never managed to contribute this year but I know most people on here contribute what they do because it’s for you . God Bless 🙏🏻.

{Ed007's Note - Don't worry about that mate, times ARE hard for everyone and have been for months - let's just hope and pray that the end of lockdowns etc are in our near future. God bless buddy 🙏

Ed you know your the heartbeat of this site (12 hours+) every day is impressive, glad u stuck around after your wee wobble. U spend nearly as much time as buzz on here. I know a few on here have been struggling lately and you and a couple of others have reached out, that’s the power of the site, no idea what I can offer apart from listening but if needed I’m happy for u to give my email out to anyone in need. Keep up the hard work ma man.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks, Steph. We all need to be there for each other at times like this, with lockdowns and not seeing our loved ones even the strongest amongst us could struggle at times. God bless mate 🙏
Btw was nothing to do with the site or you guys - I love doing this - I would never have left just cut back on the time I spend editing. I just feel sometimes that I need to try and find a job to try and take the burden off of Grotbags a bit and for us not need to rely on my mum to help with our bills etc Finding a job is hard enough for everyone out there never mind someone with crutches and all the rest of it.}

20 Jan 2021 09:29:12
Agree with all of the above Ed 👍, at least you're not getting bombarded with being asked who's signing this window 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Thanks, AGG. As I said on another thread, would you spend money on fees and wages for new players that aren't going to have any matches to play once football's stopped?}

20 Jan 2021 09:56:51
You are the reason I joined this site ed (as well as the other erudite guys on here ) hh.

{Ed007's Note - Thank, Jic. HH buddy 🍀

20 Jan 2021 16:32:21
Hi Ed, congratulations on your 10 years. Do you get a testimonial? Quite a few asking you to stay humble, not too humble i hope, i like some of the sarcastic comments that you come out with. As they say in the states, thank you for your service!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - A testimonial? You're lucky if you get a good morning off Ed001, he's at a bad age right enough. Thanks mate and I hope you're keeping well, don't worry the sarcasm will never leave me 😁 it's the Fairhill bit in me 👍

20 Jan 2021 19:58:28
I’m doing fine Ed and probably feeling as well as i have for a few years now. I had. A 4 week course of immunotherapy finishing on the 23rd of December and I’m still waiting for a date for a scan to see how well it has worked but i know that it has helped because I don’t have the discomfort that was stopping me from sleeping any more.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 17:07:41
Realistically speaking what do we think we will get for our players who move on in the summer.?

Clearly value in the squad however i voiced my worry at the start of the season that Eddies value would drop this season even if he had a stormer as he has just 1 year to run on his contract.
Now with him firing blanks what do we think we will get for him?

Think our big assets are really Ryan Christie and Ajer.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

19 Jan 2021 18:30:46
Ballpark, give or take,

Eddy - 25M - 30M
Ajer - 25M
Christie - 7M - 9M
Ntcham - 6M - 8M.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - According to Ed002 Ajer is back on AC Milan's list of possible signings during this window but they won't get that far down it.}

19 Jan 2021 18:48:01
All 3 players only have 18 months left of their current contracts.
I think currently Celtic could still get £20 million for Edouard but if they wait until the end of the season I think Celtic will be lucky to get £15 million because he will enter into the last year of his contract.
I think we could get £12 million for Ajer this month but only £8 million in the summer.
I would say £8 million for Christie just now and £5 million in the summer.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 19:04:59
No chance of getting £25m for Ajer, I’d say £15m tops .

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 19:49:25
Think I was more than a little optimistic with my valuations.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 19:53:23
Pedro, at top end of your figures we would rake in £72m. That my friend will never happen, top end with current form id say; Eddy £25m, Ajer £10, Christie £7m, Ntcham £5m. Might get a bit more for Ajer but if happily sell them all as none of them are remotely interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 20:04:58
Buzz bombs values are more realistic than some.
I think Christie £8m
Ntcham £4-5m
Edouard £20m
Ajer £7m
Iv no idea where people get their valuation of Ajer from, he’s a versatile young International but has flaws in each of the positions he plays.
A lot depends on who is interested and what noises we here from players and their agents and how they fare at the Euros.
I don’t think any of them will sign new deals and cashing in has to be the way to play it we can’t have another Boyata situation.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 20:49:59
Edouard 18
Christie 8
Ajer 8
Ntcham 5
Bayo 2.5
Rogic 2.5
Barkas 2.5
Bolingoli 2.5
Shved 1

50m in, probably 13m to spend 😂🤣.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 21:53:08
Players value is IMO very dependant on form and achievements also as their is a belief whither true or not that some of these guys have downed tools, I suspect the prices anyone is willing to pay will be much reduced especially with short term contracts.
The issues at the club could be seen as player influenced and as such why would you spend loads of money on a trouble maker?
In short the assets won’t be sold for anything like these sums and I don’t believe a high percentage of the funds given will be available for new players
The board historically are only interested in competing with those from the south not taking the club back to be some threat in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 22:59:58
The value will be what the buyers are willing to pay, the way everyone is talking it sounds like a fire sale, I would keep everyone of those players listed if we don't get top price for them, apart from Christie, who I would move on, I like him as a player, but he seems to be trying too hard, he reminds me of the Beatles song, Hey Jude, where the lyrics hey Jude, don't be a fool, don't carry the world on your shoulders, (I might have got that all wrong) , apply to him, he is trying to save the team, trying to get the result, all by himself, he needs to calm down, maybe a new coach will do him some good, either here or somewhere else.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 23:22:43
We should be asking £50 + million for Eddy, his current form is irrelevant, what was VVD form like when he went to Liverpool, some players are as good as they ever will be, you could name half a dozen, or so in our current team, but some one like Eddy, for him the sky is the limit.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 03:37:42
If we are selling these players to the pub league we should gamble on them tearing it up down there and get a large sell-on % clause.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 10:16:13
Big D you probably make a good point. I don't think we will get anywhere near some of the valuations here as with players in the last year of contract you are restricted. Especially since they aren't on form.
We can't afford to not sell this summer and allow them to move for free.
Therefore if we are going to be selling sort of on the cheap for how much some of us value them then its vital we have sell on %'s in the deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2021 16:43:56
Nobody has mentioned McGregor, i think we might lose him this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 16:49:50
Think Edouard out saw training video from today didn't see him might be him?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Jan 2021 15:51:15
Whatever his logic for speaking out now Magicpole, it needed saying out loud, so they know they will not be allowed to hide in the shadows anymore. I expect it from a corner boy like BFKB, but when your own ex players and Government join the "kicking", then enough is enough! However long he has left, I hope Lenny continues to manage like he played, never a backward step!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

19 Jan 2021 22:04:26
Was there logic in that?
Do you really think “they”are worried about Lennon now?
Papers full of them today critical of the out burst and people concerned about his mental health
Cannot see how that brought dignity or respect to the club in any way or shape more embarrassing to be honest
Annoyingly, apologies if I missed it, without any comment from the senior management it appears they concur.

Can someone put me right here there is that much crap going about that I don't know what to believe. Did jullien contact C.V. in Dubai?
if he didn't would that mean the stuff about the 4metre rule on the plane home be a load of nonsense. Also if he contacted there he wouldn't have been allowed to travel with the team home surely?
If he didn't contact it over there then surely this government rule of 4 metre rule shouldn't have been applied and we wouldn't have had 13 players isolating?

Sorry for the questions guys but my head is pickled with it all .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Mick, if you scroll down you'll see responses from Ed on this matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 16:13:19
Talking about someone that has had C. V I would doubt that he got it when he was there I caught it from someone that I was in contact with 10 days prior. But everyone gets it different and most as I believe show different symptoms at the start. But I would say it's no joke I got it bad but thank God not just bad enough for the hospital the least amount off contact anyone can have with people out with their own family I would really urge them to do that I would not wish C. V on any one.

Have celtic as a club came out and commented on this lasted stance from Lennon either with or against his stance yet? Or have they just ignoring it till end of season?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Why would the Club comment on it, is the Celtic manager not allowed to have an opinion now?}

19 Jan 2021 14:10:53
So with that being said would you as a ceo be happy with your football manager under mind what u have publicly apologised for?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Lennon apologised to the fans yesterday, the same as Lawwell did in his PR managed interview. Where's the confusion, Richy?}

19 Jan 2021 14:29:02
It was aggressive in approach and style do you think that style is fitting of a celtic manager?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Who's saying it was aggressive in approach and style? I never noticed that at all. All I saw was Neil Lennon being his usual self while passionately defending himself, his players and the Club.}

19 Jan 2021 15:43:55
After watching listening to the interview i concede that i was harsh on my opinion of how Lennon acted and listening to pundits the media etc i change my opinion i now look forward to the game the morra if it goes ahead with this heavy rain cause livy park has had games cancelled due to the weather recently.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Pesky all weather pitches 😂

19 Jan 2021 16:06:59
Nl is Damned if he does. damned if he doesn't . I want change in manager on football grounds . not for an emotional interview pointing out facts and hypocrisy surrounding this episode. . Not whether I you we think it was right or wrong to go to Dubai.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 17:17:01
NL was bang on. The reaction to the Dubai trip from the media and our own fans even on these pages was totally over the top and lacked critical thought.

{Ed007's Note - 😉

19 Jan 2021 12:51:18
Hi Ed, has NL stated that he's banning Sky Sports until he receives an apology from Andy 'Jolly' Walker?

If so, have the club commented on this and will it not go against the broadcasting contract that Sky have in place with the SPFL?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I know he has demanded an apology from Walker and if he's being quoted in some places as saying:

"Until then, you won’t be getting anything from me or my players."

I've no idea what's included in the TV contract but he could send out JK or GS, even John Clark if he wants to go full-on Dalglish mental, he did say it was only from him or his players. I hope we just blank them.}

19 Jan 2021 13:29:51
I hope we do too but I also don't want to make a bad situation worse.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What about if we turn up at Livingston tomorrow night, Lennon has a look around and decides he's not happy with the CV protocols and orders the players back onto the bus? 😁 Is it the normal 2 metre rule in place or the 3 metre one the Government made up for Celtic?}

19 Jan 2021 13:51:11
Ed007 it’s 4m on the way up and 5m on the way back.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 😁

19 Jan 2021 13:52:45
Well, the Club has a duty of care to its players and staff at all times and especially now given the present C.V.

I'd be interesting, given yesterdays press conferences, if PL hasn't emailed wee Jimmy Krankies C.V. team and requested one of them nips across Livi to check if the facilities comply with the latest protocols.

They can then do the same with every other ground in the league, that would put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 13:54:16
Bang on one rule for us one rule for the rest.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 👍

19 Jan 2021 15:26:40
Why alienate everyone to get a point over? Surely you don't have to use names of other clubs that have not said anything about Celtic to make a point. I get he was in his own way making a point and defending the club but for me more thought should have been put into it more guidance should have been sought before that interview. For me it was just another really bad press release from a club in free fall.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 16:20:07
He's the only one with cajones to speak out. Wee Fergus O'neil and Strachan were others who would speak out. The bottom line is we broke no rules going to Dubai no matter what wee Krankie or any sh! t stirrers say. Some sad little low life creeping about taking pics of players to shine a bad light on Celtic shows how much we have hurt them.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 22:20:11
Then why wait to now to mention it? Surely as part of your duty of care to your employees it should have been mentioned then
This looks like manipulation of events to support your argument
Tin foil hat stuff guys.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 12:29:55
What about Xabi Alonso for new manager?
He has almost 3 years of coaching now and a lot od playing experience from diffierent coaches.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

19 Jan 2021 12:48:10
What a player he was. He would probably still get into our starting11! Lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 12:21:18
Away from the usual subjects of Lennon and PL ect, with only 13 days left in the January transfer window I'm surprised there's been no movement at all on signings or even players moving on. Ntcham the likeliest big casualty of the window there's been no interest as of yet for him. Badly needing a RW and CB and with all the negative publicity over Dubaigate it would be nice for some positive news on adding some much needed freshness to the squad.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Would you spend money on fees and wages for new players that aren't going to have any matches to play once football's stopped? 😉

19 Jan 2021 12:41:53
Cheeky Ed, very cheeky (hahaha)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - 😁

19 Jan 2021 14:00:57
That would be the most positive news the club could get Ed 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - #OperationNull&Void 😂😂

19 Jan 2021 14:15:06
They wouldn't have a leg to stand on as the media and Sevco campaigned for Null and void for the best interests in sporting integrity. It's worse now than it was last year 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It would be a government decision to stop football, after that it's up to the clubs to decide what happens.}

19 Jan 2021 14:37:40
Just makes them 2 draws all the more frustrating. Although agent Doncaster did mention 75% of games had been completed last season 😏🤞.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - The amount of games played will be the deciding factor on how Scottish football moves forward if there is the expected shutdown.}

19 Jan 2021 15:10:57
It will take 29 league games to reach 75% of a 38 league game season.
They are currently 5 games short and 75% will be achieved on February 13th.
After this weekend only 2 Premiership clubs will have played every scheduled league game and those 2 clubs play each other this weekend at Ibrox.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 22:28:47
When it gets to 75% if that is the figure, it then goes to a club vote to see what happens
Why would all the clubs that voted one particular way change that view this year?
From last years “disappointed” clubs and the clubs wound up this year I really don’t see a null and void happening
What happens to payments etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2021 20:05:11

So if it is Lenny's last stand, does anyone really blame him for calling people out, given what he has suffered over the years, including being attacked on the pitch live on TV. Not the same venom shown then by the mainstream media, and associated cronies! Good on you Lenny, the truth hurts, a true Celtic legend to the end!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

19 Jan 2021 14:09:05
He has a point, The media are only concentrating on Lennon's attitude rather than the bigger picture. Not one are even highlighting why we have a 3m rule while the rest only have 2m. You just knew Sturgeon was going to try make an example of us coming back from Dubai and the only way she could've done that was by moving the goalposts on protocols so she can feel vindicated on her condemnation of us going to Dubai when it was approved by the government in the first place!

Do off the story is true that we had to isolate and then drop 4 points on the back off the government all of a sudden changing the 2m distance. if so it stinks. and would love to know as Lennon says how you keep your distance in some of the tiny dressing rooms across Scotland.

Lennons got the scatter gun out to deflect from his own shortcomings mally! Doesn’t fool me in the slightest. he’s brought everyone into it but conveniently forgets this is all him and lawells fault! We don’t go to Dubai then yesterday’s outbursts, lawells ‘apologies’, losing 16 members of staff and 2 unfortunate players wouldn’t have a potentially deadly C.V.! His interview lacked any sort of credibility and made him look a fool! Anybody with a half a brain can spot what he’s trying to do a mile away, and that’s the old the club against the world tactic! Not a mention of complete and utter failure on the pitch! Sooner he’s gone the better it will be for everyone, and I include him in that! I said back in October that the situation would get worse and look where we are! This nightmare will continue if he stays in charge!

As soon as he was appointed I said our standards would drop.

Letting the boys go for a piss up in Eire before an auldfirm game set the standards.

We need a full mentality change at the club, some fans too.

Ed’s hit the nail on the head, when majority of our fans are just happy with being better than that mob that’s all our board will ever strive to do.

Danny I want a new manager as well. but facts are facts they can't just change the rules on a whim and penalise clubs 16 players and staff due to a metre and a rule change that wasn't in place before we left.

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Some fans are so blinkered by their hatred of Lennon and only concerned with getting the manager out that the valid points he made have been missed. He was absolutely right to raise the questions he did.
We all moan about the way the media portray the Club and we all question why nobody from Celtic questions that treatment but when Neil Lennon actually does that he's attacked by so called supporters.
Nobody has pointed out exactly what Celtic done wrong in going to Dubai - and that's because they can't.}

19 Jan 2021 11:12:42
The bottom line is, there was no way we were getting off scot free with the publicity we were getting while we were in Dubai. I posted before the team got home that we wouldn't get a clean bill of health on return. There was no way it could be seen that 30 people can go abroad apparently not obey the rules and come home un-affected. This is not the message the Government want you to believe. I have a certain amount of sympathy with Lenny. what's the difference with sitting around a pool and sharing a cramped dressing room when it comes to catching a C.V.
One last one for Danny. Danny did you look upon the Flu from previous years as a potentially deadly C.V.?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2021 11:26:45
Ed I don’t hate Neil Lennon in the slightest mate. and yes with some of the points he was right, but he lost any sort of credibility by ranting like a fool and refusing to admit going to Dubai was wrong! Something his CEO admitted a few days previous! And I can tell you exactly what was wrong with going to Dubai, and that’s players contracting a C.V. by flying out to a foreign country in the middle of a C.V.! Don’t give me this it was legally ok pish either! It was morally wrong, and the fact 2 players caught a potentially deadly C.V. proves that! Aye but we could have caught it anywhere people say, we didnae but! Our first C.V. positive tests in our bubble came on the back of Dubai, that's a fact! And if we hadn’t have went none us would be having this conversation!

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You've got absolutely no proof that Jullien caught CV while abroad so what yo're saying is fact actually isn't, unless you have evidence to the contrary of course in which case let us all see it.
Now explain to me what "morally wrong" means, that's just buzz words that people are using that mean hee-haw. Sports are following different rules from the rest of us, they're being held to different standards to the rest of us to allows sports to continue.
Was it morally wrong for Lewis Hamilton to travel for F1 races, what about the England cricket team in Sri Lanka where someone is/was positive or Andy Murray fighting his corner to allow him to play in the Australian Open after testing positive?
Why did Professor Jason Leitch say Celtic were allowed to travel to train in Dubai, why did Neil Doncaster say it was up to the Government who told Celtic the morning of the derby that they were allowed to travel, go and ask them if what they decided was "morally wrong" as Celtic broke no rules, do you understand that - CELTIC DONE NOTHING WRONG.}

19 Jan 2021 11:36:37
Stevie please don’t try and compare C.V. to the flu mate! Am no even listening to that pish!

{Ed007's Note - But we've to listen to yours 🤦‍♂️

ED007 do u or anyone else know the second player to have C.V.? Lennon did say it was from the list of player who was isolating?

{Ed007's Note - The player so far doesn't want it made public.}

2 good posts ed spot on . we all want a new manager and we have been battered and as soon as someone fights back he gets hammered for it. for what it's worth I thought he was spot on with most of it. and all the points he raised from small dressing rooms to changing the rules on a whim i would love someone on here to say where he was wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Is that just the normal wrong or are we going for "morally wrong"? 😂😂

Whether you agree with the Dubai trip or not that’s up to you but the question is did we need to go over there to train?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - We do it every year so why not this year when the Government OK'd it.}

19 Jan 2021 12:28:15
Comparing our trip to Dubai with f1 racing or Euro or tennis competition is stupid!

We weren’t forced to go to Dubai to compete in any completion were we?

The others you mentioned were forced to go to other countries to compete. If they refused they didn’t compete.

Wrong comparison to make and just trying to justify going to Dubai during a C.V.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's not stupid, it's about travelling regulations for sports people. I'm not justifying anything as I said the other week it's a mountain out of a molehill egged on by the media and panty-wetting morons on social media.
What I am justifying and sticking up for is Neil Lennon finally having the minerals to call out all the BS.
Why is the Celtic manager being crucified for doing what Celtic fans have wanted for years, someone at the Club to call out the media?}

19 Jan 2021 12:36:32
Lennon missed out the curious case of Helander isolating on his own and no other Sevco had to isolate. he's bang on about the hypocrisy.

spot on ed007 shocking how fans have blasted lenny for sticking up for the club yesterday and calling the media out and government.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - There's actually Celtic fans out there enjoying all this mate, they're thriving on seeing the Club - and especially Lennon - being battered from pillar to post through no fault of their own.
If we were cruising the league and had beaten TRIFC they would be singing a totally different tune today.}

19 Jan 2021 15:04:39
i could not have put it any better myself mate. they would all be praising lenny for what he did yesterday. he stood up for this club himself and his players yesterday and did what us fans have been wanting for ages to call out the bias against us. is it true ed007 the government changed the social distancing rules for us and that's why we had all those isolating.

i know your not lennys biggest fan ed007 but i respect how you have backed him up here.

As much as I like Greg Taylor he's got to be one of the most unfortunate players we've ever had. The fact that he simply isn't KT means he was always going to be up against it. That's further compounded by the fact the we only spent a fraction of the KT fee to replace him.

Woke up, read the papers, nearly every story is a negative article about the club.
Banning interviews, who does that sound like.
It's gone too far, whilst NL may have some points, those away from the discussions only see what they see.
DD should stop this now, this is a no win situation and where NLs mental health ends up is guesswork.

When Celtic lost the 1970 European cup final After Extra Time, it was our first competitive game in nearly 3 weeks.
The Scottish league finished really early on April 18th due to the World Cup in Mexico.
Feyenoord on the other hand played another 5 league games after the European Cup Final.
I think that match fitness could've been the deciding factor in Extra Time.
Celtic were on course to repeat our 1967 heroics by winning every competitive competition we entered.
By the time we reached the European cup final by beating Leeds home and away,
Celtic had already won the league cup in the October and the league title was clinched easily weeks previously.
Celtic were 2 finals away from achieving another unbelievable clean sweep.
The Scottish cup final was sandwiched in between the 2 Leeds games on April 11th.
Unfortunately Celtic lost 3-1 to Aberdeen in the final, in which my dad described as the worst referee performance he had ever witnessed by Bobby Davidson from Airdrie.
The week before Celtic played the European cup final in the San Siro, we played a benefit match away to highland league club Fraserburgh.
The game was played to mark the Fraserburgh lifeboat disaster in which 5 men died.
The tragedy occurred in January 1970.
It was a great gesture by Celtic to take a strong side to the highlands, one week before a European cup final.
Celtic won the match 7-0.

It was a crazy decision by the Scottish football league to finish our 1969/ 70 season more than 6 weeks before the World Cup in Mexico started and I think that’s what caused Celtic.
Scotland failed to make it to Mexico but they played qualifiers up until the November 1969,so the league fixtures were already scheduled.
I think if Celtic had played another couple of weeks of competitive domestic games it would’ve made a big difference in the European cup final.
Our preparation for the final was to play one friendly game and a Benefit match in the highlands and compare that to Feyenoord who played away to Johan Cruyff’s Ajax in a 3-3 thriller.
That Ajax V Feyenoord game took place 2 days before Celtic played our Benefit match in Fraserburgh.
Holland also failed to reach the World Cup in Mexico but the Dutch season didn’t finish until only one week before the World Cup started.

Just woke up to Lenny's presser. That's the real Neil Lennon. I think its great to see him fired up, taking on the situation directly. Can't say I concur with him 100%, but its the first time I've been a (somewhat) proud, defiant supporter in a long while. If only he could enthuse the team with that same spirit somehow.

The malaise at the club is clearly beyond his pay grade and it would be churlish to sack him right at this moment, when so many are so culpable. For me, that performance buys him the rest of the season, if not to pull of an epic comeback at least to restore some dignity at the club. He could just about be the right man for _that_ job.

That performance buys him to the end of the season 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 what about the performances on the pitch, do they mean nothing? Honest tae god a give up with some people on here by the way! Neil Lennon makes an absolute embarrassment of himself and the club, and that warrants him staying to restore some DIGNITY! Hahahaha! Embarrassed in Europe not once but twice, out the league cup at home to Ross county, beat twice by sevco without scoring a goal,21 points behind in the league, players discipline shocking, going to Dubai in the middle of a C.V. and 2 players coming back with C.V.,3 games in 2021 with no wins at all and one set piece goal scored, and the ‘manager’ assistant manger and CEO all saying different things about the Dubai trip! DIGNITY! And he could be the right man for the job! ! It actually frightens me the sheer delusion of some of our support!
