Not a rumour but having watched real vs city. It's great knowing we are back where we belong in European premier competition. Hopefully we can give a decent account of ourselves and stay in the competition past Christmas if not then just being there is good enough for me. Beats the Ramsdens cup anyway ;)

See from the BBC that Celtic's debt is now £3 million not counting champion league revenue or the money for Ki, surely we should have expected bigger signings than we got, £3 million for a club of Celtic's size with another £20 million coming in and we spent just over a million.

It's actually quite good results considering our debt total is only £3m, player sales fees such as Ki have not gone on these first 6 months accounts and we're going to take in over £15m from CL campaign this season.

Not really mate. Our debt is 2.7 million. We sold Ki and have all the CL money plus remOving about 12 players wages from the wage bill. Assuming we make no signings in January next years results will see us about 15 million in the black with the debt having been well and truly paid off (no chance that will be invested in players).

I wasn't implying there was anything wrong with what the board were doing in protecting our assets, as I said, I was being a bit cynical, but to be honest, the board knew well before the results were published what financial position we were in. We could have afforded a wee bit more of a spree and still posted a profit in the next financial report. If the dream goes the right way, we'll still be involved in European football come the January window, and maybe then, Lenny will get a few sheckles to blow on players.

We are in a double dip global recession with little or no sign of it comoing to an end.gates are down throughout europe even tonight real madrid /man city 10,000 tickets unsold. we in scotland have no chance of earning big money so why go gung ho in the transfer market makes good business sense to me.

i posted a link on here a while back to paul mcconnvilles blog. after a very very long in depth explanation of newco finances, his bottom line was they will need 55,000 at every home game just to keep their heads above water. now after just 2 home league games where they got 49 and 46 thousand crowds , they are puting up prices by a pound . anyone think that maybe pauls calculations might have been spot on. struggling already .. shamrock

rangers fans know amd septic fans know, they only exist because of rangers. after watching us, and u did. for 15 years back in the 1800's . u finally decided to form your own club. ever since then u have been like the younger, slightly uglier brother, trying to live up to the more successful handsome big brother.u needle us accordingly. this is understandable from an inferiority point of view. however u will never over take us. even jock stein was heard to admit. if only the mighty Rangers had come in for me first
