Predictions for Sunday. Will we be up for it and take the game from the start. I'm going 1-0 to us but Im very worried about predicting a win.

Paulo

Going on the basis we had the bulk of the play and enough chances to win the game the last time but lost an own goal to another defensive blunder combined with our failure to clear our lines plus Bitons sending off because roadrunner was posted missing I’m going for a win.

If we win we’re dammed because the league is over and if we win we’re damned because they’re superior though.

Sickening the new clubs fans in the knowledge they are same flies albeit around a different jobby is still the order of the day. We should be on the park waiting for them which will avoid the need for a guard of honour and be in their faces from the first minute to the last. Let’s see what they’ve got. Give Morelos a final welcome to Parkhead and maintain his goal scoring record against us. If we lose we should be down to seven men or whatever it’ takes to get a game abandoned. Let’s dish out some of the tackles dished out by them to Tierney and Pingpong and dent there second leg chances in Europe.

Just saying what ma tactics would be if I’d a big nose and was in the dugout.

JFP they are playing the second leg as we speak don't know how well just know their losing 0-1 but I agree with your tactics 😂.

Big D

That shows you how much attention I pay to them.

As my auld man said ‘If they were playing out the back I wouldn’t open the curtains’.

Plus I’ve banned myself from radio and news etc. to avoid exposure to the Stevie G fan club. This is the only contact I currently have with the outside world with respect to football matters. I’ve stopped listening to all the other stuff as well on the basis that somebody will tell me when I’ve to go for my next jag or when a pint of Guinness is an option.

If the right team is picked, we will win at a canter, but if the pattern for the season is resumed, and the usual suspects are chosen, the game will be a lost cause.

18 Mar 2021 22:10:18
Can you imagine JFP I never tried Guinness.

18 Mar 2021 22:13:34
Thankfully JFP I'm living in the states and don't have to deal with most of that but I do get alerts on my phone about Scottish and other football otherwise I wouldn't know either 😂 Oldkilly last I saw was 2-0 and 1 red hopefully we pump them rotten on Sunday but I am not going to be very confident.

Agreed JFP, we need to throw the kitchen sink at them and play like our very lives depended on it!

Hopefully the break has allowed us to work up fitness levels and Forrest is good to start the game. Take their chance of invincibles away or we won't hear the end of it. At least try and win the next 2 derbies and salvage some pride.

Jordan Larsson has now scored 12 league goals from 22 league matches for Spartak Moscow.
It’s crazy how we allowed Jordan to go to Russia with the amount of project’s we’ve brought to Celtic Park recently.
I’m sure young Larsson would’ve jumped at the chance to follow in his dad’s footsteps and play at Paradise
He’s now 23 years old but surely our scouting team have missed Jordan, whose been right under their noses.
I don’t know what young Larsson is now worth in the transfer market but he will be out of our price range.

18 Mar 2021 19:53:13
It's a fair shout Buzz and good luck to Larsson Jnr, but you can't sign or win them all.
There's no point looking back, let's focus on the future, I hope it's a cracker!

The ghost of henrik past . don't wish you or the boy any harm but without his dad being henrik would anyone really be interested. I remember the last time I saw a post like this I looked at his stats and he had never scored more than 10 in a season . mostly low single figures.

Vincent Angelini Celtic's seventeen year old goalkeeper has rejected a new contract and is awaiting the green light to go on trial with Brighton. Manchester United and AC Milan are also keen on the teenager. It's disappointing we're losing so many of these talents.
Anyone know what's going wrong with our youth academy at the moment. Another young player refuced to sign a new contract and will leave in the summer.
Something seriously is is happening as to many young players don't see their future at Celtic anymore. Are the coaching staff unable to help them progress into the first team or is or youth academy just so out of date.

I'm sure Ed007 or someone else mentioned that someone connected formerly to Celtic is now an agent and is poaching the good prospects.

Does anyone think PL has any influence in the new appointment of a DoF and new manager? I really hope not given his track record It has been well publicised that PL never had any part in the appointment of Brendan Rodgers Business wise PL has been great but in other matters in the club he has been shown up big time.

{Ed007's Note - As far as I know and from what I've read, Tony Lawwell has nothing to do with any of the recruitment processes.}

I must admit I'm not pleased about our buildup to the game on Sunday.
In the last few games under both Lennon and Kennedy, we have slipped back to our bad habits which has wrecked our league campaign.
In Lennon's last game and then again against Dundee Utd, we have left 3 strikers on the bench again.
Getting Christie to come deep for the ball and having Eddy on the shoulder of the last man doesn't work.
Eddy is best when he comes deep for the ball, with Griff or Ajeti in behind.
Also taking Soro out of the starting lineup and replacing him with Brown is a big mistake going into this game.
It also hinders McGregors game especially against Sevco.
I mentioned when Kennedy took over, I wanted Soro and Ajeti to get a run in the team and keep the good shape we had in the festive period.
If he doesn't want Ajeti in the team, then pick Griffiths.
In Kennedy's first game he picked Klimala and then in his second game he picked Christie. It's not good enough because our fans could pick a better lineup.
I'm not happy with the 2 games Kennedy has been in charge because looking at the big picture, the system doesn't look right.
Celtic were unlucky in our last game because the stats would tell us we should've won with a few goals to spare.
Celtic would've won if a penalty box player like Ajeti or Griffiths was playing, with the amount of balls we played into their box.
I've noticed Kennedy has only made 5 subs in his 2 games in charge but for some reason, we still fall out of each game in the last 20 minutes.
Celtic had a chance to build a consistent and solid team, going into the match on Sunday but god only knows who will start against Sevco.

I'm at a stage were I don't really care what happens in the remaining games. This seasons end can't come quick enough. Hopefully we gub the Troglodytes and end their so called invincible season (St Mirren game doesn't count😂) Morelos red card and a celtic penalty since the season's over the officials will officiate honestly.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 16:56:49
totally agree buzz on the strikers and you get the best out of eddie dropping in the hole at times and the reason we fall away the last 20 mins most games is because we take our most creative player off in turnbull and that's criminal.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 17:47:10
Liam
That’s a good point about Turnbull.
I thought the 5 sub rule would’ve gave Celtic an advantage this season but it’s not worked out that way.
Kennedy hasn’t made many subs in the last 2 games and we still dropped the pace in the last 20 minutes.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 19:49:07
Right on the button Buzz;
Although I am also very keen for this season to end and for us to make a statement of intent with new appointments etc etc.
I am all to aware that the scales have tilted very much in their favour, head-to-head in the last few games and it needs to stop.
Back in January we outplayed them for much of the game, but our vulnerability at set-pieces (and a man sent-off) did the damage.
I have not seen anything in Kennedys selections or formations to expect anything different from the last three games and that would mean Brown, the off-form Eddy and hapless Christie all starting which would play right into their hands.
It's absurd that we could have LG, Ajeti, MOI and possibly Forrest sitting on the bench at home, against any team, when we should be taking the game to them from KO. They owe it to the supporters.

18 Mar 2021 13:23:55
Whos now fed up with this name that name being linked to celtic job or jobs to the extent that when we do name them we won't even care.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

18 Mar 2021 14:56:32
The danger is possible anti-climax the longer it goes on as the support (and most of the players) are keen to get this season out of their systems and start afresh with some enthusiasm and anticipation.
Looks like the preferred candidate is currently under contract and we are in limbo until such times and that's hardly ideal for the interim manager, who's going through the motions, possibly not knowing his own future and a team that are deflated and distracted.

18 Mar 2021 15:15:23

18 Mar 2021 13:43:32
We will see how he comes through his test on Sunday.
It will depend on how much his transfer fee will be.
I think Jo Joe will enter the last year of his contract in the summer.
On of our Ed’s correctly described Jo Joe, by saying he was a decent player but his crossing can be poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 15:00:59
I've been impressed with him as a proper right back; not make-shift like Frimpong (who also couldn't cross that well) .
With JF in front of him there could be a good partnership and if we eventually replace Scott Sinclair, we could have the same balance on the left with Taylor in the need arose?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 15:20:02
in terms of being a right back and what a right backs first job is to do and that is to defend kenny is a upgrade on Frimpong. Frimpong could not cross or defend. if we can get kenny for the right price its a must for me.

18 Mar 2021 15:47:00
Agreed UI.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 15:52:25
Kenny is a very good prospect. one thing he does is look for the final pass were it finds a team mate. YES he has to improve but with game time and working with his new team mates that will come. all we need now is a striker who can get on the same wavelength and we will be quids in. hh.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 16:11:54
There is no way we could sign Kenny, Ancelotti has already stated that his future is at Everton.
I think we need to give young Lee O’Connor a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You'd think Everton would have started contract talks with a player who will only have a year left on his deal and who they were willing to sell to Burnley for £8 million in January. Burnley wanted a loan with a guarantee buy but Everton wanted £10 million for that deal, they quoted them £8 million for an immediate purchase.}

18 Mar 2021 16:42:53
Looks bang average to me. Another full back that can't cross and doesn't have an assist yet as far as I am aware. For the vast majority of domestic games we don't need him to defend but to get to the byline a put in decent crosses. We'd all like another Tierney that can do anything but I'd much prefer an attacking player given the choice.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 17:13:17
bigbubs. nonsense mate every game no matter who it is you need your defenders to defend first that should be there main focus keep the back line tight then think about hitting the by line. look state of us this season cause our defence has been stinking at defending frimpong and laxalt playing like attacking players you speak off no care what's so ever in the defence side of it. kenny is steady and knows his jobs keeps the defence tighter.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Mar 2021 19:14:29
UI you've just described Taylor who gets pelters every week. Laxalt and Frimpong are useless going forward as well. An attacking wing back with an engine to get up and down is what's needed. Get the CB position sorted and some energy in the DM position and you won't need them to do much defending.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2021 07:39:16
i like taylor think he is similar to kenny tough steady defender will only get better under the right manager. since taylor and kenny came in and laxalt and Frimpong were out the team our defence has been better. i feel more confident with Taylor in the team than i do laxalt. think taylor and kenny are very similar in several ways they get stuck in and can defend can push forward but get back also to do there defence duty's and they do it well both young and will improve a lot with more games. those 2 would be my starters next season. try keep ajar and give welsh more game time he has earned it.

need some cover in the full back positions and 2 centre backs punt Julien we already have a energetic DM in soro who is more than good enough that spot should be is own and brown should be his cover. all that's needed is the right coaching staff and a few additions and its back to business as usual.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Mar 2021 11:05:22
His crossing needs to improve but he's without an assist because the good balls he has put in the box multiple players have been guilty of swiping at thin air when it was the easiest of tap ins. He's helped solidify the defence since his arrival hopefully Taylor is back for Sunday too, both wing backs would benefit with wingers in front of them.

The Premiership clubs have voted in favour of the winter break being re-introduced next season 2021/ 22.
The Scottish Premiership have had a winter break in only 8 previous seasons and incredibly 7 trebles have been won.
It was first introduced in season 1998/ 99.
1998/ 99 Rangers Treble.
1999/ 00. Rangers Double.
2000/ 01. Celtic Treble.
2001/ 02. No winter break and No Treble.
2002/ 03. Rangers Treble. ( Celtic Seville )

A Big Gap before it was re-introduced.
2016/ 17. Celtic Treble
2017/ 18. Celtic Treble
2018/ 19. Celtic Treble
2019/ 20. Celtic Treble
2020/ 21 No winter break and No Treble.

Going by the previous statistics above, Scottish football were making it as hard as possible for Celtic to achieve a 5th Treble in a row.
Obviously they didn't know Celtic were going to be woefully bad this season, when the decision was made to scrap the winter break for one season.

It was BigBubs, I’m only at the windup.
It be fair Celtic had embarrassed Scottish Football enough.
A treble was only made possible when the League Cup was introduced after WW2 in the 1946/ 47 season.
A total of 14 Trebles have been won in 74 seasons since the War finished.
Celtic have now won 7 Trebles and Rangers also won 7 Trebles before they entered a Liquidation process.
When there’s been No winter break 7 Trebles have been won out of 66 seasons.
And when there’s been a winter break 7 Trebles and a Double have been won in those 8 seasons.
