With hearts asking their players to take a 50 percent pay cut during the unplanned downtime I wouldn't be against us asking players/ higher earners too take a small paycut (10-15 percent) and the money being put into a fund for the non SPL clubs we should remember the origins of our club at times like this. Our wage bill is over £1million/ week according to our accounts. Teams like Raith are crowdfunding for 25k when we have individuals earning more per week. I don't think the government should have to bail them out when they've got many more deserving causes/ sectors. Tin hat on.

Perfectly sensible and noble idea.

It’s all fine and well bailing out the other clubs and then the Spfl ask them to vote on the outcome of the league because they have no backbone. And we know what the result of the vote would be.

It wouldn't be about "buying votes" tho. It's not inconceivable that the majority of teams will fold without some sort of stimulus. We can't play in a league by ourselves at the end of the day.

I'd rather we used the money to pay the staff who work in the shops stadium restaurant and such during this time whilst they're not able to go to work.

Take care of our non footballing staff. Our money will dwindle very quickly.

If some of the wee teams folded, like Forfar, Brechin, Arbroath and Montrose, they could resurrect as Mearns United, have a brand new ground central to them all and plenty of money in the bank. There are far too many small teams in Scotland.

If there is no football for 4 months that will take us to July.8 games are played Wednesday and Saturday over 4 weeks to finish 19/ 20 season in August. One week off and 20/ 21 season starts late August until June 2021,still having a winter break. Champions League and Europa League start in september, both competitions for one year only are played as a straight two legged knock-out. Sorted.

That’s a good call cormac because UEFA will need to give an extension on June 30th. The season needs to be won in 2020 so there is plenty of time to finish off the season considering it can be finished in a month. The players will have had plenty of rest and it would be easy to follow your plan.

To make the time up for 20/ 21 season we could play each other twice and then the top and bottom 6 play each other home and away. That would be a 32 game season and we would make up for time we lost at the start of the season.

I think starting on a Saturday, 2 day break, then 2nd game then 2 game break then 3rd game and so on. 2 weeks and the league is sorted.
Everyone in the same boat.

Just reading through some headlines the clown Beale wants the league to be decided after half the games are these clowns for real. also read the Celtic star piece where nick De Marco gave them a shout and at the Celtic star believe he would have been reading through his work it's reassuring to hear this and that the club are taking steps already because I certainly think we have a fight on our hands to be rightly crowned champions by the amateurs running this league.

liamlennon - disagree on one point - amateurs running the league
If it was amateurs then they would take the obvious and rout and award the trophy as is.
NO, our illustrious "leaders" are working on every scenario which will do the opposite and look after sevco.

Even if the league is decided by which team led at the halfway point wouldn't we still win the league. We had 58 points the rangers had 56 and had a game in hand away at st Johnstone but they recently played them and drew so surely they would just use that result as both us and them would have played each team home and away.

Dont think any of the above will happen but hoping the football returns soon as weekends with no football is horrendous.
