Our unbeaten record must come to an end at some time. Any preferences to whom and in what competition. Hopefully it will be in the league soon and get that monkey off our back, but not to the Sevcovians.

To go the whole season without any defeat will be very difficult. It's easy to have an off day, look at our first half with Murderwell. If BR hadn't changed the formation we would most probably have lost that game. As the season rolls on and the league is won beyond doubt, BR will tinker with the team and give some of the fringe players a chance to prove themselves. That's when you will probably see our first league defeat, probably away from home.

The Scottish Cup is our next challenge as BR will now be desperate for a treble in his first season but expect some tricky ties.

Must say that's one of the most bizarre posts I've ever read on here! hopefully we get beat in the league soon and do we have a preference about who we'd want to beat us! That is one strange post!

Great post and, in keeping with your theme, I hope it is Third Lanark in the Fairs Cities Cup Final.

I'll take losing to Aberdeen so they pip the zombies to second place on the last day of the season. But would still hope to go undefeated.

Hope the players don't have the same attitude as yours smit, don't really give much thought to the unbeaten record myself but to hope for it to happen soon is bizarre to say the least

2 games i wld loose.
In the cup and let another team take that eu place (is there still one? )
And aberdeen last day of the season and they are 2 points above the sons of stress.

No eu fitba for the big orange toastie loaf.

I think that would round the season off nicely. (If my logic is correct)

Think the break came at just the right time for a few of the players although the fighting spirit and determination shown so far in the season has been absolutely fantastic.

Although our momentum has been stalled, not only do we have guys coming back from injury, but others have had a chance to shake off niggles and knock and recharge and as long as we maintain concentration and play as we can, the players could go on and make even more Celtic history

19 Jan 2017 11:14:58
My point is that we will lose at some point. I don't wish us to lose but when we do I hope it doesn't matter eg losing in the league in the next few weeks will make no difference to us winning the title. Ideally I would like us to go unbeaten until the group stages of next season's CL when we have already qualified for the knock-out stages.

I've been working in Spurs new stadium since new year
It's colossal, will hold 60,000, state of the art coming in at 350-400 million. If ever sponsorship for the EPL suffers or the sugar daddies loose interest and move somewhere else there'd going to be a lot of white elephants around.

Can't wait to see the tic back in action this weekend. These last few weeks have felt far too long. What's everyone's thoughts on team selection?

Cup game, need to go with strongest possible 11. With the plastic pitch I think Jozo will sit out. KT and Eboue to get some minutes from the bench.

I'd go for:
Gordon
Gamboa - Lustig - Sviachenko - Emilio
Brown - Armstrong
Roberts - Christie - Sinclair
Dembele

A would start griff for this one but that's all I'd change. Maybe put a few kids on the bench so they can get a run out if and when we put the game to bed.

ed do you know if wee kt is fully fit for the weekend?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He should be fit but I'd be surprised if he plays on Albion's plastic pitch.}

18 Jan 2017 21:29:53
the wee man would have slide tackled on the old black ash pitches ed i don't think a bit of plastic would bother him lol. i was actually thinking the same that they might not risk him on that pitch but you know the wee man he's a tough wee cookie he might tell rodgers he wants to play.

ED007 what is the situation with the young lad Ajer, heard he was dropped for yesterday's derby against the new club and talk of him going out on loan.
He came with a big reputation and even started games earlier in the season, albeit, I know we had injury problems then.
I take it Rodgers does not rate him.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers sees Ajer future at CB, Tim but he needs to build himself up physically and that takes time. Ajer himself has said he will be going out on loan to the English Championship this month - I thought it might have been Blackburn but it turns out it's Efe they're interested in.}

18 Jan 2017 18:20:10
Ha ha ed good one. Love this site so funny. For a sec there i thought you said blackburn were interested in efe.

{Ed007's Note - They are mate lol.}

any truth we are looking at manchester city centre half tosin adarabioyo ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - According to Adarabioyo's agent we're interested in signing him - well that's what he's telling other interested clubs.}

18 Jan 2017 21:21:56
Hi Ed yesterday I saw video of the daily rangers transfer centre as KJ is calling it. He thinks that there is going to be a significant big signing which he thinks has been lined up for a while do you think this is a lot of pish he was smiling as if he was in the know but was no letting on.

Tommy Walsh would be there best ever signing. Maybe he could transform the careers of half their team n turn them into roofers, painters and maybe one of them might be smart enough to take a quick look over the accounts.

Looks like we will have another 2 weeks of non-stories. The Portuguese boy seems to be a 2+2=5 and the KT story is obviously getting momentum from the Sevconians at the Redtop back page depts. Like others have said, the great thing is that we seem to be in a position where we can say no to 10 mill deals, KT is as good as majority of full backs I have seen in EPL but with a great shot on him too. Fingers crossed that we get PR for another year's loan as that would be as good as signing him anyway. While there is talk of a need for a RB, I think the only other essential position for now is a Central Defender if we ship Efe. Anything else would be gravy as this current batch of players will only get better after the break and should have more than enough in the locker to smash the CL qualifiers. Put the league to bed, rest the starters as much as possible and allow the likes of GMS, Christie and Ajer more game time. Would love to see the first 11 getting enough league time to tick over and then bring out big guns for every Scottish Cup game. Can't wait for Sunday, tired of poking the other lot with a stick. Seems unfair to take the piss out of them when they do a good enough job of it themselves 😂

I think the Hogmanay game really shone a light on Lustig's weaknesses when he's up against a winger with pace, which at 30 is no disgrace, especially with the injuries he's had. The club are trying to tie him down to a new deal so maybe he will become a CB with a new RB brought in to challenge Gamboa? I'd be happy enough with that. I'd also like to see a new right winger, or Roberts playing ahead of Forrest.

2 year deal for lustig.

18 Jan 2017 19:57:45
I'm very happy to see Lustig get the deal. Loyalty needs rewarding. He's been and still we be a great servant to the club. My only criticism of him this year is that he should have punched the feckn head off that fud Namar 🍀

I'm massively looking forward to getting the football back on at the weekend. Hopefully the team will be well rested and pick up where they left off. If that's the case we could dish out a real hammering and send a warning to the rest. I fancy Griff to bag a hat-trick!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

18 Jan 2017 20:16:38
knowing rodgers with his one up front boredom griffiths will probably be a sub. for me a 40 goal a season man must play up front with dembele.

great minds think alike jfp that's what happens when we've been brought up on the all out attacking football we watched from the jungle i miss that old place.

Agree7 Disagree0

19 Jan 2017 08:07:23
I have to disagree with you both on this one. I've been wanting them both up front as well but the few times it's happened we've played poorly and actually scored less goals than we do with just one striker. The team plays far more fluid and exciting football in BR's preferred system and I'd prefer that over trying to shoehorn in a second striker just for the sake of it.

Agree0 Disagree5

19 Jan 2017 11:53:37
so what your saying is if a guy scores 40 goals a season keep him on the bench? the two of them can play together no problem, they just need a run of games together to fine tune their partnership, all i see when i watch this one up boredom is the main striker being isolated and he also gets outnumbered by the opposition back four as he has no one to link up with and help him out.
