Hey Ed av seen in the last few weeks since Russell has came back from injury with Derby he has been out of favor and he didn't play today not even on the bench do you think they could be tempted with a bid?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Russell only returned to light training this past week.}

18 Jan 2014 19:47:26
No a big fan of james forrest but I thought the bhoy was superb today. Running at defenders all day beating them with ease and putting great balls into the box that were begging to be attacked. The break to turkey looks to have been a good decision as the team played with a zest and flair today. Best home league performance this season. Also thought stokes should have been a yellow card instead of red.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe the thought of snodgrass coming has made him up his game or maybe he's over his bout of sciatica, if he adds consistency to his game he could become a great player for us. I rate snodgrass but if were going to pay big cash for a player i'd love it to be rhode . bhoywonder

18 Jan 2014 23:06:56
Think you are right about this snodgrass talk giving forrest a kick up the arse! Today, s perfomance by him was long overdue. don't think we need snodgrass as we have a few options in midfield but there is always room for a match winner like him. I would prefer to spend big money to sign a proven striker like rhodes. With the newco ready for there first administration I can't see our board spending big. If we got a quality striker this month it would be ideal with cl qualifyers starting in july.

Interesting that Lennon wouldn't be drawn on Snodgrass in his post-match interview. There is definitely interest there. Whether or not a deal happens is another thing.

Great News Bhoys and Ghirls, Stokes has been sent off, means at least he will miss one game.

I am happy with this.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Away and have a look at yourself kev .That's something you'd expect from SLUGS mob .

Well done that's what you call good support give yourself a lat on the back

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly you detest stokes but since you obviously weren't at the game stokes had a hand in all three goals and was harshly sent off I don't think he deserves the stick from a so called celtic fan like you

Agree0 Disagree0

OP So you are happy one of OUR player's got sent off, what a sad individual you are

Celtic are winning 2 nill
Why does he never bring on players till the last few mins of a game if we are willing we should be giving some of the other guys game time if I was balde I'd be pissed off being on the bench every week and never going to know if I'm going to get on or stay on the bench!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why the red card? My stream is terrible I missed it.

After another victory, still undefeated, and ninth consecutive domestic clean sheet, there are fans who still find something to moan about.
Can those people please enlighten me and others what exactly it is you are looking for.jimbhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll tell you what we're looking for jimbhoy. Were looking for a good build up to the next CL campaign! Were looking at getting some young / new players integrated into the team before the next CL campaign! Seeing as we ****ed the last CL campaign up completely & don't wan't to do the same again!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rory we would all love to make an impact on the champions league, but as I have said on here before, we have to realise where we are plying our trade. The quality of player celtic need to take us further in cl won't come to scotland. And as long as the Germans, Ialians, Spanish, French, and, English are there, the group stages or maybe last 16, is the best we can hope for.jimbhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

@4 Your right Jimbhoy, some of our fan's really need to get in the real world, at this moment we are the same as a lot of club's in the champion's league, we are considered as cannon fodder for the big club's, they need to realise us getting to the champion's league proper or indeed the last 16, is remarkable for a club in such a league
Tambhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Bhollocks Tambhoy! We should be aiming for last 16 or at least dropping into the the Europa League! It's not too much to ask for, we had a bad CL campaign this season because the board chose not to strengthen in key areas! there's no excuse for this happening again as the funds are there to rebuild! Just because some of us have a bit of ambition does not mean were being unrealistic!

Agree0 Disagree0

@6 Don't think it's ambition you should have Rory more hope mate, at the start of this campaign I looked at the team's we had to play and hoped we could get into the Europa league, was not to be because we were not good enough, I still stand by my earlier post, when we go into Europe we are a small fish in a big pond, last year we punched well above our weight and we have Neil and the player's to thank for that, you might think I am talking bhollock's mate but then maybe I am being a bit more realistic than yourself

Alrite Ed? Do you think there's anything in the Snodgrass story? Think he's a decent player but at around the £4m mark and 20k-25k a week I would rather see that spent on a CF who we know could get us 25+ a season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I said the other day that Snodgrass spoke to a third party about the possibility of a move to CFC, this alerted the club to his availability and desire to return north. The only stumbling block to the move seems to be agreeing a fee with Norwich.}

Haven't really seen much of snodgrass to be fair so don't really know that much about him but from what a have seen he hasn't really impressed but as a say a haven't seen to much of him what's your thoughts on him ed and other posters

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd have Snodgrass in the team before Forrest every week.}

Signing Snodgrass would be brilliant, but would he get a game?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe get a game if he changed his name to Forrest

Wee1888

Heard today at the game that Ledley is staying hence the reason he play and Samaras was in cool storage. Really don't think Snodgrass is need unless we can get rid of some of the other MF.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 11:51:16
Not a rumour, just hoping that Balde and Pukki get a start together today. Also, if Derk finally stays fit (huge if) he could be like a new signing. Don't see Ledley or Sammi signing new deals and reckon we should ditch them now-gutted about Ledley but a lot less so about Sammi. Unless some genuinely top drawer striker comes up I really think we should go with the kids. If Fraser isn't out on loan him and Atajic should be getting game time. Really don't want us to end up with some clown like Luke Moore "bedding in for our Champion's League" campaign!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What happens if balde and pukki start and do nothing Daviebhoy what's the excuses going to be pukki has had a good few games now to show what he's made of and hasn't plays well on a meaningless game and your shouting for him to start I do not think pukki offers anything to the team hope am wrong but

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 14:32:12
A well AB we won't need to worry about that there not starting, really disappointed in the team only thing a can think of is it the same team that gubbed St Mirren.
After thinking that the Turkey trip could have turned out to be worth while because Balde, pukki and especially Biton showed ul well a now just think it was pointless .
Can only assume Ledley has told Lennon he is going to stay because if not him playing in front of Biton is a disgrace, a well time to sit in the cold and wet AGAIN! Let's hope we get a decent game .

COYBIG!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I could see this coming all along MB. Fans expecting some of the youngsters to start today were bound to be disappointed. Any confidence the youngsters gained against Galatasaray has been chopped away with one fell swoop, by the manager's show of lack of loyalty to the form players and willingness to try something new. This is exactly why I felt all along the trip to Turkey was pointless.}

18 Jan 2014 17:41:19
Got to agree now Ed, when a played fitbaw ( not of a gr8 level) it was keep showing what you can do in training or in friendliest and ul get a game a assume that would be the same at the highest level . Well how downhearted must u get when your prob the stand out of the tournament (biton for me ) and don't get a sniff.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we win 3nil at home and people still not happy god some Celtic fans are a spoilt lot these days and it seems never be happy no matter what but never mind eh as soon as we lose you all be happy and have plenty to moan about

Andybhoy this conversation was started b4 the game m8. A was more than happy with game the day . This thread for me was more about players showing up well in a friendly then not getting Anywer near the 1st team.
Team for me played very well today a Thot it was quite an entertaining game for once. Not to bad a crowd aswell close to 40,000 prob. Am a happy celtic fan m8 a must be easily pleased

Agree0 Disagree0

At the the end of the the day it is lennons job to win games and he pick a team to do that I myself would like to the see the young bhoys get a game and if we lose a few games along the way then so be it at least we know if they good enough but I can guarantee that half the people who shouting to change the team would be on here and other sites slagging him and he team but losing a few games so I do think e in a no win situation

A for 1 would mind losing afew games hearing that quite a lot these days, a still would like afew youngsters blooded through the year but the team should still be good enough to win.
Am not gony cum back from a game saying oh well we got beat but yippee 2 of the Bhoys got a game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Monkeybhoy pukki showed up well when there is no pressure he hasn't showed up well in competitive games I have seen him in as for balde I have no probs with the big man getting his chance Lennon selects the team though and its a winning team so he's not going to start tinkering until league is sewn up or we lose

A watched both turkey games and for 1rst time seen something . So a Thot give him ago straight after he done well and maybe he can carry it on if not get him tae f*ck.

Thoughts on the team peeps? I will be bloody furious if Ledley and Sammi start, and angry if they are even on the bench. This is no reflection on the ability of either, more a loyalty thing to our other players.

Sammi, I feel, has had his time at the club. Decent service, not the outstanding contribution some would have you think, but given his age and wage bracket best if he were to leave. Joe Ledley is another thing altogether.I like Joe, he is industrious and always puts a shift in, but I do think he can be guilty of slowing our attacking game down.I think over the piece he has made a bigger contribution than Sammi, but is a close to £30k a week justifiable? Not for me. Biton, I am sure, will step up.

With the outstanding contribution of young Henderson in Turkey I would love to see the boy in from the start.Every time he got a ball he wanted to turn and commit opposition players, something we badly lack at times. Having said this murderwell will be tricky, on a good run and with some pace, it will be another team sitting in and breaking quickly. Izzy will have to be clever in when he goes forward, as will Matthews if he plays right side. Lenny has good options now I would hope we see the same type of Football as in the last game v them and the hertz performance as well.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Our team selection is Unpredictable. The only player I can predict is the goalie.

Totally agree that Motherwell will be tricky and although I'd love to see a repeat of the game at Fir Park in December, I have my doubts.

For some reason, our home form hasn't been the best. I know we are unbeaten blah blah but the only home game I enjoyed this season was the Karagandy CL qualifier.

He has to go with his best players available today and if we do get a comfortable score line, I'd hope there's a few young players on the bench to come on.

Maybe even give Henderson a shot instead of mulgrew.
Pukki only getting another shot because he showed a bit of something in turkey. Balde deserves a chance.
If pukki again fails to deliver then am afraid for me it's curtains

Agree0 Disagree0

Gj,, how do we get two strikers and the likes of biton and henderson into nl preferred systems of 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 ,,,,, deep river bhoy

Av got a funny feeling Lennon will resort to type and balde will be dropped for commons and brown and Ledley will start a hope am wrong but a think Lennon determined to go for this unbeaten run and doesn't seem to trust the likes of balde and that but a hope am wrong

Not Celtic related but I was just wondering what my fellow Tims views were on Independence. As an undecided voter I like the idea of it but am a wee bit unsure if its really a good idea.

Onto the game today, I hope Lennon starts with Balde and Pukki and brings a couple of the young players on like Atajic.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Until Salmond answers proper questions I will be undecided. Money, defence and border control have still to be clearly mapped out for me. One thing though, would you trust Hollyrood after the decisions made regarding football fans?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want to remain a province of northern England and have someone else make all your major decisions for you I suggest you vote for the status quo. If you want to be recognised as a sovereign nation with it's own history, culture and right to self-determination, then vote YES. When you see what some of the former Soviet republics had to go through to win independence from their overbearing neighbour, turning up at a polling station and putting a cross against a ballot paper should be an absolute no-brainer.

TomTheTim

Agree0 Disagree0

The answer is clear. Do the opposite of what you think the establishment wants. As for defence IMHO we are not a country who has ever been concerned with defence. We do though enjoy attacking.
A related topic. The polling is rigged. There is no objective checks and balances regarding these huge companies controlling the polsters. The questions posed are flawed by intent and the figures are not accurate or independantly assessed. Also they put a fat disclaimer and variable of + or - 5%. The polls are designed to influence you and then when the result comes in guess what the polls were exactly right and the voters reflected their polling research!
Double whammy! You then believe the election process is squeaky clean as the result mirrored exactly the result.
BEWARE.
There are many levels working against the democratic processs and I am unsure how the result will go but however it goes it will be infected and affected by powerful people or groups whos agenda has nothing to do with the well being of ordinary Scots. Sopotcelt.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be free of Westminster it has to be YES!

Remember it's a vote for Independence not the SNP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your talking about no consideration for defence but enjoy attacking tell that to Walter smith Craig levein ally mcoist and every manager that comes up against Celtic on spl lol

Agree0 Disagree0

All Football interests aside for the moment -
It really MUST be a YES Vote in the Referendum on Scottish Independence - Why let Successive Governments in England, (voted in by, mainly, English Voters, ) dictate what lies in store for OUR Future, when we didn't vote for them in the first place .
Vote YES, Folks, You Know It Makes Sense .

The Sno Man

Agree0 Disagree0

It's got to be a YES! Football & cultural reasons aside, voting NO should not even be an option for any right thinking scot! We have to sever the last ties with the union for good & leave behind westminster warmoungering & imperialism. The British Empire is dead, let's bury it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Has to be a yes vote and as it has been said before this is NOT a vote for alex salmond or the snp this is for independence to be free from westminster rule to be free to make decisions on our own not what the eton schoolboys and their ilk want

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be a Yes for me. I would like to live in a country where the people from the country get to decide who they want to govern them. Please remember what Mrs E mentioned, this is not a vote for SNP but a vote for Independence.

A for 1 would be over the moon to sign Snodgrass think he's a gr8 player and a if a celtic fan that would just add to it for me. Not many players who are playing week in week out in the EPL would come to Scotland anymore if a celtic fan that's the reason he'll come.
Think some fans expect to much, somebody mentioned the other day bout Griffith and if his name was Le Griffitho he would be wanted, a agree if Snodgrass was called el Snodgrassio fans would be jumping all over it.
Just my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get the Snodgrass thing at all. I will admit to not seeing too much of him, but on TV he has never really stood out for me. Not a signing that would excite me if I am honest.

Ed, spoke to Stephen Thomson tonight in our local.
Nothing to do with us but he did confirm when I asked that MUFC have a bid of £3.5M (with add ons) for Gauld sitting on table and a couple of other clubs sniffing around Souttar (£1m being mentioned(,
I pulled him up about sending both on 2 weeks hols to Spain and asked if it was coincidence or just as they were tired as reported in press. All I got was a smirk back

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I know they were watching him, along with Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool, Stoke, Spurs, Cardiff, Swansea and Barca who have all had scouts watching him. I was told that they were expecting an offer from a top half Prem team in January, but that it would have to be huge to make them consider a sale right now. I wasn't sure who the team is that they were expecting an offer from but I thought Utd were the least likely as the youngsters they have prioritised are Adryan, Tavares, Moussa Dembele, Alen Halilovic and the young Brazilian
Kenedy. I can't see where Gauld would fit in to the Man Utd squad, they have Nick Powell to return from Wigan and Januzaj who are both long term prospects playing in the same position along with players like Kagawa, Young, Valencia, Zaha etc. It's never been Moyes style to rush into any transfers, so again it surprises me, I'm not saying I don't believe you btw and I will try and find out some more tomorrow.}

The thing with these super wealthy clubs is they can take a punt at £3-4m.Chances are Gauld would not see a first team shirt for years and that would be of no good to the boy.I would hope he has good representation and not the usual greedy grasping agent type.
