The Scottish media's institutionalised anti-Celtic, anti-Irish and anti-Catholic sentiments are there for all to see tonight after the weekends results and Celtic effectively putting one hand on the league trophy. We've got Kris Boyd ripping the arse out of being caught in a scramble alrhough nothing said when it was Neil Lennon who you can attack freely and be exhonerated by the courrts in Scotland but anyway find the person that threw the coin and ban him. We've got six broken seats probably due to youthful over exuberance when little was said about £100,000 worth of damage to Celtic Park when the people visited. We've got an outpouring of angst about our 'pitch invasion' when a dozen guys gave Broon a cuddle and the huns has had four title wining pitch invasions this season without comment. And last but not least and my all time favourite is the sectarian outcry and digging out a video with a wee laddie singing about their kit man. Absolutely nothing said when 50,000 sing anti-Catholic sectarian chants to a man on a weekly basis. Aye, we're Scotland's shame the famine is over why don't we go home. Don't buy into this Scottish press promulgated pants.

It's always the same when we give them the slightest excuse to deflect from their own failings, offences and shortcomings.
Especially when their 'favourites' are found wanting yet again and they are too afraid to turn their venom on the scouse youth coach.
I do not condone or enjoy any bad behaviour or unsavory incidents involving our club (and coin/ object throwing should never happen) , but the exaggeration and over-reaction from the media is so typical.
Michael Stewart was even suggesting points deduction sanctions for the coin throwing - so save your pennies Bhoys for the treble treble party and the Sevco closing Down Sale lol.

Digging out every minor excuse not to write an article congratulating us on a crucial result towards winning the title but to drag us through the dirt as always.

Anyone who throws coins, damages seats or invades the pitch is a moron! Stop trying to play it down. It sounds like yous are trying to defend these idiots. Hope the club bans them for life👍.

These morons from either side see the same sort of attention for throwing coins and 'invading' pitches. People choose not to see it. The paranoia is there on both sides too, funnily. The whole whataboutery and paranoia, from both sides, is just amusing now. Makes me feel sane.

Good shout ed looking safer to come back on site now 🍀
Great result yesterday what a way to finish a game.
Let’s hope we get off to a good start thurs tho I’m a Jonah not a good record when I’m in Europe 😂.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - If we could sneak a goal first over there who knows what'll happen but it's a big ask.}

18 Feb 2019 21:18:38
Go at them 1st goal and they will have to change their gameplan.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'd like to see us come out the traps and get tore in about them for the first 10-15 mins but can we trust our defence to hold out if we make any mistakes? Did you get a ticket?}

18 Feb 2019 21:47:27
Yes mate got one was going anyway but buzzing now. Can’t see them coming at us it’s all about how we approach it if we have a go who knows what could happen. They will want to just see it out it’s all about us having the quality to go at them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's about us having the confidence in our ability to try and rattle them.}

18 Feb 2019 22:12:13
Definitely mate how would you go team wise me I’d drop brown put Mcgregor back in there put Burke yo top with eddy in behind.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 22:21:45
We may have more confidence over there, at Parkhead in first game, Green Brigade were brilliant but the rest of our fans seem to be waiting until the players lifted them, instead of fans lifting players . As first half wore on about 20 mins, passes went astray and gasps and shouts of disappointment grew and players never relaxed or played with confidence . On Thursday players won't expect crowd behind them so they will have different mind set and hopefully they will get on with our game . As u saiid Ed, an early goal and we might have a game .

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 00:23:57
Don’t worry old man Chris green brigade will be over there too 🍀.

Early goal game on mate I’m buzzing managed to get a ticket fly out Wednesday. We were too naive in the home game we started well but then reverted to type like were scared of European teams we suited their game plan pounced in our mistakes. We have nothing to lose I can’t see them coming at us be pretty much the same they will sit back so if we can be confident enough and just have a go we might panic then.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 09:25:05
That’s the frustrating thing about the fans at CP. Too many of them only want to make a noise when we’re 2 or 3 goals in front. I used to have a season ticket in area 405 of North stand. All the noise came from the 2 ends. Most of those who sat close to me would moan and groan all through the game if we weren’t massively on top. I preferred the old days when we only got 20 odd thousand and most of them were crammed into the jungle and were all proper mad Tims.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 12:02:27
Get the first goal and we might just have a second bite of the cherry. It's having the confidence to showcase our ability we struggle with. That in itself though is part of being a good player/ team. No way was that a good account of ourselves last thursday, no matter who we were playing.

See big Raman declaring Tierney should be back for this weekend? This is a tough run of games we are in just now and starting to get the players back and key players at that is perfect timing! Love how big Raman reports on all the negatives about yesterday instead of the big result it was and the poor performance from the sevvies and their under 18 coach of a manager? Clyde SSB is hilarious tonight their pain is ripping right out them it’s free therapy 😂 mon the killie on Wednesday finishes that lots season off 🍀🏆🏆🏆.

I see Kris Boyd bumping his gums about being hit on the arm by a coin yesterday, I know people shouldn't throw objects, it was about 20/ 30 seconds before he reacted by looking at the ground . The fallout to yesterday was in my opinion a result of Celtic winning so late on breaking a great number of hearts. I do he is okay and is released from hospital soon, as i said objects shouldn't be thrown but for me this is all down to final score. oldkilly.

18 Feb 2019 14:12:27
Coin throwing is for that other mob. I don't want these guys supporting our Club. Identify him and ban him. Just gives others ammunition.

I said yesterday that the coin throwing pitch invasion SB red card would be all the media headlines due to their pet club's chance of the League has gone. I hope the guy gets banned (not Brown the coin thrower😂 (if caught. God knows how these nutters think it's a laugh to throw coins at a player. The orcs are up in arms about Catholic Conspiracy;Catholic Refs😂😂😂Celtic supporting CO:It's the hope has killed them again😂😂I hope killy put them out the Scottsh Cup and the remainder of the season will be Vikings on tour.

As a rule I am against throwing object at individuals or towards playing pitch .
Sometimes there is an exception to every rule, and if I was making exceptions at throwing coins at individual, I would make an exception to Kris Boyd . His double life of singing the praises of the 6 yr old club whilst on playing books of Kilmarnock shouldn't be tolerated.

I wasn’t making light of it as I said it shouldn’t happen, Boyd didn’t even know a coin was thrown at him as it brushed the sleeve of his top, there was no reaction from him for the 20/ 30 seconds i mentioned until some one told him then he looked down. I agree the culprit if identified should be punished. oldkilly.

18 Feb 2019 18:32:17
Lighten up i wis only giving Kris Boyd some spare change so he could a pie.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 18:56:37
Come on, we all know coin throwing is terribly wrong . However the target of the coin thrower was K Boyd, hardly an angel, in fact a terrible example of most that is wrong with Scottish Football . He is payed to play for Kilmarnock yet almost on a daily basis he spouts positive propaganda about Rangers 2012., developing and building sectarian divide in Scottish football . He has never got even something neutral to say about Celtic .
Now we should seek out the culprit and particularly if he is a young lad or lassie, he/ she should have a good talking to and pointed out that behaviour is unacceptable.
I would hate any young person to be barred from Celtic football for a period for throwing coin at Boyd . Obviously even if Boyd is the worse low down person in Scottish Football we cannot continue to throw coins at him .
Remember we were all young, once and maybe we didn't always behave perfectly.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 20:56:23
Don't understand the logic of it being kind of acceptable, because the target was Boyd, ridiculous argument.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:22:07
If there was much as he said there was he could’ve feasted in Greggs till the end of the season don’t get me wrong don’t condone it makes us as bad as them if I’d seen it cnt would get it from me more annoyed that these are the headlines whereas it should be that that was the day we won the league.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's bang out of order any Celtic fan throwing a coin and it's not at a referee or the Orange Walk 😲😋 Seriously though if you're throwing coins at anyone at a football match you deserve to be severely punished and banned from games, it's bawbag behaviour and we need to stop it.}

18 Feb 2019 21:50:11
Haha ed when I was young it was tailing the orange walk giving it roaming in the gloaming getting them to chase us down a close into where the older bhoys were waiting 😂.

evening ed . any nees on griffiths he's bedn kept out the lime light just wonder hiw the boys getting on?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I'll be surprised if we see LG back this season, Lummy and if we do I think it'll be no more than a bit part coming off the bench towards the end of the campaign.}

18 Feb 2019 11:48:43
On that note Ed what do you think the future holds for Griff at Celtic. As you know from over the years I’ve been a huge Griffiths fan but I can’t help but think his days at Celtic may be numbered. I know he has a long term contract but with the arrival of Bayo and Brendan talking about the possibility of extending Weahs loan and I also believe we will try and keep Burke in some capacity I can’t see where Griff will fit in.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think LG still has a future at Celtic but barring injuries it will be on the bench and getting the odd start here and there. The only place LG could get the same money is in England and unless he's had a major change of heart he doesn't want to go back down there and there's no way Hibs or Aberdeen could even afford to pay the kind of fee Celtic would be looking for let alone pay his wages.
Bayo's a project and what happens if Weah and Burke both do return to their parent clubs? LG is a far better striker than Burke is so even if he does stay a fully fit and focused LG should start before him up front.
Maybe Rodgers is planning to use 2 up front like we seen with Dembele/Edouard where we'll need 4 maybe 5 players for those positions.}

18 Feb 2019 13:50:54
Big fan of griff myself, season before dembele came he scores 30+ goals for us then all sudden he was dropped after dembele hat trick against THEM. And a couple of injuries which was abit of bad luck for him. If he was to come back after season I would like to see him abit more regular as we all know what he’s capable of playing in behind the defenders and set peices which we lack in. Maybe even try him out wide and cutting in on his favorite left foot would be lethal. We all know Brendan likes to switch it up abit I think Leigh would be great no matter what position he’s playing up front.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 14:41:47
This season will soon be wiped out for Leigh . We haven't heard anything for a couple of weeks and hopefully that is a good sign .
A fully fit Leigh with his mind fully on the job would certainly be a great asset . Hope to see that again.

Agree3 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 19:44:35
100 plus goals for the club
He may be mental but he’s my kind of mental.
Get well soon because an on form Leigh Griffith’s is the business.
Leigh griffiths wrapping a scarf round a post when all the Celtic fans have been banned from the ground - get in!

Who remembers the airplane over ibrox? ‘Hail hail th celts are here’!
Awesome.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:04:55
Griffiths is still the best striker we’ve got in my opinion. That said, I don’t have the knowledge and experience that BR has and I would almost certainly be a piss poor manager. I really hope Griff can get back to match fitness and get in the right frame of mind and make the position his again.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:27:52
I’m with you COYBIG imo Griff is our number 1 striker. I just think Rodgers trust in him may have gone and with all the strikers we now have maybe BR is looking to the future. I hope I’m wrong and would love to see a fit and healthy (both physically and mentally) Griff leading the line for us again.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think a fit Edouard will be first choice, for some reason Rodgers since the day he came in has always had his doubts over LG when he dismissed his 40 goal scoring record from the previous season.}

18 Feb 2019 09:12:08
Hard to argue with big sutyobs view on our signing policy we'll have almost no back 4 at end of season and could be 2 forwards short. the scouts better be on overtime.

18 Feb 2019 12:37:21
It's not our signing policy it's BR signings in that area which turned out to be tom kite.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 14:46:08
For maybe the first time this season, we are putting real day light between us and them . Do we celebrate? Do we heck, we repeat the same negative nonsense about the summer transfer window as we have for weeks on end .
It won't be the negatives on Celtic Banters fault, if Brendan and board don't know how to get summer transfer right.

Every man entitled to post as they like, no point in jumping down by throat,
I wee thing u start off debate, usually by a negative point against our club, of course u are entitled to that, but some may think u are just a negative old poster
Sutton is a very poor example of a pundit that is right . One of my daughter walked away from Celtic when he deliberately got himself sent off in Ibrox . Two yellow cards one after the other when he was already on a yellow. She thought if he who was highly paid could turn his back on club, she wasn't wasting time supporting team with him in it.
His managerial record at Lincoln City bringing them to bottom of league, doesn't mean he can manage either .
Sutton fighting hard to keep job at B T especially with sky taking over SPL, so he is also taking Rangers soup.

Rodgers doesn't make all the signings how many times do people need told the Same things over and over again

Not just Celtic but many football clubs operate like that now.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 20:59:35
Chris all I've done is comment on Suttons take on what our summer transfer window will entail if you can show me something to the contrary go for it. as I pointed out we will lose 2 cbs Fact and unless we can do another loan deal for either Burke and weah we will lose 2 attackers . it's reality and we never seem to get players in early for the qualifiers.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 21:06:24
Do we have to go over this pish again?

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Feb 2019 23:23:18
Mallytally that is a great point. Whether you agree or disagree with our policy it definitely has been leaving us short when it comes to qualifiers.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Feb 2019 14:03:17
No, we should be excited about last min goal that puts us 8 points clear .
If we cannot enjoy that for two or three days, what is the point in supporting Celtic .
Most people get a share of doom and gloom in our private life's. Celtic is an escape and so we should enjoy the great times .
Us, who have no influence and Board and Management who know what is needed have all the time in the world to sort out next window .
Idiots on here won't change that.

Hayes, Ajer, Boyata and Burke when he came on were my top picks, while the rest blew hot and cold on a joke of a pitch; but stuck in there to the death and that's why we're Champions!
Need to be honest about Madhun who I have given plenty stick - (deserved most of the time) - he might have had a few wee lapses, but he got all the big important decisions spot-on.

Interesting post Stevie for which I am very gr8tful. It made me want to know the meaning of the number 8 and among the many things I found was this, "Number of the perfection, the infinity. Not so great performance accompanied by a great result today. Cliche, I know, but it was a real champions performance - getting the job done when not at your best. Hopefully it will carry over into Thursday's game and the players can believe in themselves as much as we believe in them, Valencia were held to a goalless draw today so there has to still be something there for us in the tie.

A massive stride forward to another league title. Granted we weren't at our best, and Kilmarnock had their game plan down to a tee, so credit where due, but these are defining moments in a season where the team never give up, and were rewarded quite beautifully yesterday. To see our manager and staff celebrate like that was also encouraging. Massive games coming up in the next couple of weeks, let's focus and put this to bed. HH.
