Hi folks do you think there's a chance bain will sign and ddv will be moved on
Makes sense but don't know if bain would be happy as no2 behind gordon.

18 Apr 2018 21:13:27
I don't want any keeper that will be happy as a number 2 to Gordon.
I don't want any keeper that would be happy as a number 2 ful stop.

18 Apr 2018 21:54:13
Kev83 . It doesn't mater that you don't want a goalkeeper that is happy to
be number 2 . In the real world every club has a keeper who might as well be happy as number 2, because he is . If he isn't happy with his lot and shows it ( if he doesn't show it nobody knows ) then he is likely to spread disharmony in the squad .
We need a goalkeeper happy enough been number 2, but at the same time is just waiting to get his chance through injury or loss of form .

Not really Chris u can have 2 keepers willing to fight for the Jersey and not just happy to be getting a wage.

19 Apr 2018 07:24:55
Bain would be fine being understudy, rememver this guy has lived in the real world recently. a chance to improve, big money and family security, if offered he will sign.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 08:53:31
I've said on here before that I've always thought Bain was a decent GK, after Sunday Gordon is undoubtedly Celtic's No.1 now and Bain would be an excellent and reliable No.2 when asked to step in.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 10:56:39
I was reading big Fraser is being shown the door by Southampton. Would anybody have him back? I'd ideally like us to sign a quality young keeper but if the wages were correct I'd be happy enough with Forster.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 14:46:20
End of the day if we want to do anything in Europe then a better calibre of keeper is needed than Craig Gordon.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 18:52:49
Big fall from grace for big forster watching him i don't think hed be on rodgers radar due to his abilility with the ball at feet.

Steph2bhoy. As far as I can see Step2bhoy if a manager has two goalkeepers of about equal ability, he plays one in at least all league games and his number 2 is played in Cup games. No manager wants to switch and change his goalkeepers.

Joey Barton that player who came up to Scotland and had a very successful time (his own words) and ended up banned from playing after a betting scandal has just been appointed Fleetwood town manager.
I'm sure the bookies will be providing short odds for him walking away from the club under a cloud in the coming weeks.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hope he does not have a bet on Fleetwood winning promotion!

Us this the joey Barton that broony schooled in the 5-1 game.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 21:27:33
I have to say if Barton is given £1.5m to £2.m and buy the whole first team players from Rangers 2012 . That would leave Walter or whoever they get next a clean dressing room to fill with proper Rangers players.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 00:24:25
Johnny he'll probably have a bet on them not winning promotion, then he can take his winnings on gardening leave.

A team of sound experts at Hampden found that when the players walked onto the park 109 decibels was registered. This grew to 115 decibels at each goal. The ambient level was 98 decibels in the first half and 96db for the second half. Comparing this to the English premier league which old Trafford topped with only 84db at the start of a match.

The consultant added that the passion of the fans was incredible and the fact that the noise level didn't drop throughout the whole game. Imagine what the sound would have been like if it wasn't just the Celtic fans creating the atmosphere 😉😂😂🍀.

Send them to mine to to measure the after effect of our curry night saturday, am sure the trumpet arse wife could beat that. you know where am coming for guys.

The duvet was on the ceiling last week, and the back of my leg was artexed.

I remember two instances were we made such a noise that the radio equipment couldn't cope. Not sure of the dB level though.

One of the occasions was when Cadette made his debut against Aberdeen and scored after coming on from the bench.

The other time was when we played FC Tirol at Parkhead and it was a real roller coaster of a game.

The Man City game is the loudest I’ve ever heard and it’s been a while I thought I’d burst an ear drum. The game when the Huns won the league, did the huddle, guy fell from top deck and Dallas got pelted with coin is the most volatile atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at Celtic Park. It was a baw hair away from a pitch invasion and would have been had the shoe been on the other foot. ☘️.

Definitely jfp. That game was the closest to a riot I've ever seen. Poisonous atmosphere.

Thoughts on our chances of getting Roberts on a permanent deal Ed? Not played an awful lot since coming back from injury and talk of a few prem clubs looking at him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He's still on his way back from injury though. Players need to be gradually brought up to speed after being out so long. It's far too early to say if we have a chance of signing him permanently.}

18 Apr 2018 11:40:04
Surely Dembeles best opportunity to get into the France squad is by staying at celtic? That is his dream after all, like many players. I hope he will stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 13:35:31
@KenLikeEh I believe the opposite to be true. He was banging in goals last season and couldn't even make the squad for a friendly against Luxembourg. He needs to move to a more high profile league to get into that squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 14:45:21
Cheers for the input Ed, maybe I'm just reading into the little things like bringing him on later than expected etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought he would have got more game time too but he is coming back from a long lay-off and Rodgers - and Man City - won't want to rush things. City have an input on these things, he is/was back down in Manchester regularly for check-ups and to keep City's medical staff in the loop.}

The fact Forrest been off the boil the last few weeks ad have thought paddy would have featured more.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 17:12:44
He is their player after all, they could easily get a bigger fee from another prem club if they choose to sell him so I don't see how we could compete.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What if Roberts doesn't want to sign for another EPL team?}

18 Apr 2018 18:42:28
Seems like Roberts has been a city a while, been out on loan a while and no other team has made a bid for him. strange one?

Roberts or any player getting passed around on loan would jump at the chance of an EPL team and regular football in his home country.
Just a thought. Hail Hail

As you probably gathered i am not a big fan of loan players, for me Celtic are at the top and should be buying players outright for the team, and only in a emergency take a loan player.

Celtic should be aiming to be the team that loans out and not loans in.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 19:29:38
Ypf the problem is we would not have bought Paddy for £10mill so the only way to get these players are loan deals. Also if they don't work out you can shift them back. However I am not a great fan of loans either but at least with Paddy we know what we have got before we write the cheque if we choose to do so.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 21:59:21
I felt that Paddy's body language and remarks at the end of the last campaign suggested he was leaving and that he was okay with that. Must be weird for him this time round, and it was a rough year for the kid. But to see the team doing so well and being on the periphery, knowing what he can offer, maybe makes him realise what it is like in the limelight a bit more. I think there's every chance of him hanging round and becoming a legend.

As divisive as this forum can sometimes be, I don't think I've seen any disagreement on PR at all. Everyone would be delighted to keep him as long as possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 00:01:06
He might not Ed but I find it hard to believe that City truly want want to do right by him and not what's best for business. They'll want to make a profit and we can't match that.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - A profit on an initial £5.3 million outlay minus 2 loan fees and the wages we've paid should be well within our reach.}

19 Apr 2018 08:40:18
Forgot about that, I take it none of his add ons will have been triggered yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

18 Apr 2018 00:38:50
Ed do you think club will look to offer Moussa a new improved deal. I know BR has said on more than one occasion he only expected to have him for two years when he signed for us and I know the majority of us think he will be off in the summer just wondered if you think the club will make efforts to keep him. The guy constantly has a smile on his face none more so than on Sunday. He looks like he's loving life in the hoops! 🍀.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - They wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't so yes I think they'll offer Dembele a new deal.}

18 Apr 2018 13:47:16
It’s too early for Moussa to leave. If he continues with that form next season, especially in the CL, then he gets a better move and we get more money.

Of course we will be offering him a new deal. It will be interesting to see how we took up defensively for the qualifiers. That is where we will see the intent to be a CL level team. If we achieve that, then no one will even get close to us at home.

A Treble Treble anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 17:25:38
The hope is Moussa seems to really love playing for us. His agents seem very level headed and are in contact with BR. I don't think the EPL tempts him that much, or it would have to be a top 4-6 i would guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 17:40:09
If he does the business next year, then that type of club will buy him. This year has been a letdown for him and his future us best served with us for at least another year.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 17:57:05
If the Moose is still with us next season then it’s an absolute must that we tie him down to a new deal as after next season he will the be in the final year of his contract. He’s still only 21and has a big future ahead of him, just hope we get to see him in the hoops for a few years yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Apr 2018 22:02:49
It really is great to see Dembele enjoying the game again, and showing his frustration when things don't come off. He's unplayable when he is in that zone. Must be pretty cool being one of our French lads in Glasgow I reckon and they're all serious talent!

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 00:31:48
If he doesn't sign a new deal then it's definitely time to sell. Just hope he doesn't do to us what he done to Fulham.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Apr 2018 20:44:11
We cannot complain, if Dembele stays another couple of seasons, plays the time we and he signed a contract to do . There is something wrong if we criticise a player for seeing out his contract .
We can have no idea if that is In Dembele's mind.
