Use our rumours form to send us celtic transfer rumours.

Ed do you know of any plans of offering dembele a contract extension and a hefty payrise to try hold onto him a little longer? I feel a 2 year contract extension and a payrise would leave anyone winners and put celtic in a good position and leave us with a very good chance of holding on to him beyond this season. Without an extension i wouldn't be optimistic about him being here next season.
I also feel with his current form and a good run in the europa league he could end up making the world cup squad which would make it harder to keep hold of him but at the same time his value would go up.
Any info or thoughts on this is greatly appreciated.

{Ed007's Note - I've not heard anything about Dembele being offered a new deal but I'd be surprised if the Club haven't broached the subject with Dembele and his agent.}

Did he not fly out to Boston for a deal about image rites with NB or something months ago?

Talking of dembele, has anyone seen wee dembele recently? There's a video doing the rounds of him showing off his ball skills but he's definitely been hitting the gym in the last year, a think he could be ready in a couple of years if his attitude is right.

Yesterday I replied on a post that I sometimes take my two nephews to Ibrokes and we sit in the main stand, and some "enlightened" posters condemned me for this, without knowing full story.
As our ED007 will verify, I have posted before about taking my two young nephews to sevco games, I do not need to justify myself but I will in this instance, their dad does not enjoy good health and cannot take them to a game, so when I can I take them.
As for going to the main stand, my two long term ex bear pals happily get me and my nephews tickets for there. (yes I know they do it to see me sitting among all the other "suits" but I rise above it for the sake of the boys seeing their team)
For the guys that are so short sighted and criticse me all I want to say is, remember Peter Lawwell's words. WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT.

Fair play to you Tim, I'm no going to lie I couldn't sit amongst that lot, not that I'd have to, my nephews only interest in football is playing Fifa on the PlayStation.

{Ed007's Note - He's a braver man than me sitting in with that lot!}

Good man Tim . I'm sure the nephews will appreciate it in years to come . I went to the old Ibrox years ago . was only 10 or 11 . it was the old Tennents Caledonian cup pre season tourney v WBA with a bluenose mate of mine . anyway we got separated and there he was stoatin about the old celtic end shouting "Pat" "Pat" . even though I was a young dough heid I still had the sense to hide for my life. Needless to say I was last man out of there. think I turned the lights out on the way out 😀 Hopefully St Peter will forgive me on judgement day.

Did anybody ever go to starkiller base for the beambacks?, i sat in wi 30000 at least when we hammered them 5-1, never saw the 5th ( burchill if i remember ) as ma mate spat his dummy after the 4th, having to sit while your team pumps their rivals and not celebrate was surreal tbh.

Guys thanks for all the support, here is a true story (honest would I tell porkies, don't answer that lol)
One of the first times I met "the suit" was in that stand, as I told you all he is more friendly with my two ex bear pals, naturally, anyway they had told him I was taking my two nephews and even told him what seats we would be in, he did not know I was a Tim at that time, and my 2 nephews were wearing their sevco scarves, so it gave me the perfect insight to what he was all about as I just sat and listened to all his bile, he ranted on for over twenty minutes until I could take no more and left the game early with the boys.
It was about a month later at one of the Sunday lunch time meetings that he first turned up to and my pals told him I was a Tim, he was not best pleased, and threatened to expose me if he saw me at Ibrokes again, that is the quality of the man, and it is why I now ridicule him and his bigotry every chance I get.
PS even my nephews never took to him and to this day dislike him.

Just a wee teaser for McGarvey and all my other Sunday readers, read me and NOT the sevco papers. lol
Although no Sunday pints planned, I have a couple of things up my sleeve for my ex bear pals if things go as I expect.
Will not be on Saturday, Mrs T and I are going to a dinner dance with some friends in a Perth hotel, I think Mrs T picked Perth as no one knows me there ha ha.

@Stan, I must warn you in your absence, most of my tips bombed, which is why i do each way bets with bookies paying extra places as a safety net. With the caveat "Timalloy tips beware" I got info on 3 horses tomorrow at Cheltenham
2.25 Viconte du Noyer 20/ 1 (go with bookie paying 5 places)
3.30 Mischievous Max 12/ 1 ( e/ w 5 places again)
4.00 Grageelagh Girl 3/ 1 (win only)
Also in 2.25 is a horse for us older Celtic fans
Tully East 15/ 2
If you make a profit, miracles CAN happen lol.

Ed do you think we are sticking with Gordon and De Vries for next year with big doris signing the extension yesterday?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I bucking hope not!}

It looks like it to me ed. That's both signed a new contract is it Not?

{Ed007's Note - Yep.}

17 Nov 2017 12:17:01
Thought that. I won't be getting my hopes up for a new keeper then ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I won't be getting my hopes up for Europe next season either.}

17 Nov 2017 13:47:09
Calm down bhoys. If we (hopefully) bring in a new #1 in january or the summer we'll still need a back up, and DDV seems happy enough to be that whereas I couldn't imagine Gordon on the bench, did he not have the opportunity to do that with Chelsea?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - And if we don't bring in someone in January or the summer? And I'd imagine Conor Hazard will be looking for game time next season or a loan out. Is the plan maybe to integrate Hazard into the team next season?
I still say that starting season 2018/19 with Gordon as No.1 would be a disaster for us, people keep complaining about the CB situation but the GK position is in a far worse state.

17 Nov 2017 14:48:02
Gordon is a bomb scare and if we want to get better he needs replaced.
Causes panick constantly and give the ball away under no pressure constantly.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 Nov 2017 19:13:38
I am happy enough to go with our current number 1 and 2 .
Gordon has proven by to be an excellent keeper in his three years plus with Celtic and has improved quite a lot under the influence of Woods and B Rodgers .
As Brendan said at the AGM when speaking about the Boyata, some fans on here are waiting ( and hoping ) Gordon makes a mistakes . It allows them to say I told you so .
We have created a British record of not losing a domestic game . Our 11 players on the park play as a team and everyone including Gordon does their share . Gordon has made mistakes, I have yet to watch a goalkeeper play over 200 games without making mistakes . If anyone has please tell me the name .
De Vries came last season and had a nightmare in the four or five games he played and certainly wasn't good enough for us either as main keeper or back - up . However he seems to have worked hard to regain previous ability .
Having played a friendly against Sunderland and SPL game v Dundee ( I think ) he must have shown form shown in training and appeared v good .
I am not saying we can't get better than Gordon and DeVries of course we can, but we can spend a hell of a lot of money and finish up with worse . We need to spend decent money on back four and other parts of team are to mind just as important as goalkeeper.

Agree1 Disagree3

17 Nov 2017 19:54:19
I with you on this Chris he gets pelters on here and we won't know how good he is till he gone.
He has transformed his game under BR, he got dropped and fought his way back immediately, BR rates him Woods rates him, Strachan rates him so that's good enough for me.
Like Peter Lawwell he gets it more than others, some are never happy and don't know when we got a good thing.
He is part of 63 and counting.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Nov 2017 22:08:54
Got to disagree guys. His passing is shocking goes out of play or to an opposition player a lot more than to his own player.
The goal he cost again st Johnstone was a example of this.
His decision making is shocking. The constant sprinting out his box or the kungfu kick are criminal
Every time we step up to European football he looks a serious weak link and that goes as far back as inter Milan in the Europa league in Ronnys first season.
When at their best he has been nowhere near as good an boruc big Fraser or even marshal was for Celtic.
He's a decent shot stopper nothing more.

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Nov 2017 23:45:53
Kev your right he does make mistakes mate, but you know what so does others.
I seen Courtois, Lloris, Hart, Mignolet make the very same mistakes and they all worth north of 30m, and if u go on utube u will find even the great Neuer does the same so what's your point.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 08:34:13
Not sure why you've mentioned Mignolet and Hart in the same breath as Lloris or Neuer Rayman as they don't compare. Neither does Gordon. Neymar makes mistakes, but you'd swap him for any player we have, no?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 09:26:41
Rayman Ye they guys all make mistakes but infrequently. (Except joe hart who is a dud and only the english rate him)
Gordon is making them in all the time. He is a serious weak like.
David marshal is a better keeper
Boruc at his best was miles ahead of Gordon and big Fraser is better than both.
When you said sstrachen thinks he's good enough that's good enough for you I actually laughed out loud.
Strachan thinks Barry bannan is a better choice than calmac.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 10:30:27
Kev u have actually reinforced my point mate, Joe Hart is not a dud in fact he is Englands No 1.
Englands managers/ coaches have picked him for last 5 years ahead of Forster Pickford Butland Ben Foster and others are they all duds too.
I would rather take their proffessional point of view than some random banter on here tho i will concede the Bannen point.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 13:05:05
I think a lot of keepers are the same kev, it's a generation thing maybe, a keepers job was never to play football, it's always been to stop goals till the last 10 years or so. The next lot coming through will have a much better idea of the modern keepers role cos they'll have been taught that all their days. Ad like to see hazard given a chance at some point, probably after we finally lose a game tho, if he was in goals for the first loss it could seriously damage his confidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 13:33:05
What has Gordon transformed then? By far the worst distribution I've ever seen in a keeper if anything his passing has got worse not better. He isn't helped with the dodgy passing of Bitton and Boyata in front of him but the 3 of them are a bomb scare passing the ball around the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 15:00:16
Bravetart so your comparing him to footballers now?
That tells u how his game has been transformed.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 17:42:51
His game hasn't not transformed.
He is exactly the same as he has always been.
Rayman the english don't pick the best players for their team. They do it all the time.
Hart is in because he's a media darling and has always been well over rated. There are several English keepers better than him.
Craig Gordon is a keeper with very poor distribution very poor decision making and doesn't command his area.
All three things we need in a keeper to play in champions league.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Nov 2017 18:30:52
Kev be careful mate from embarrassing urself. Your actually saying u know better than some of the best coaches in england and scotland including BR.
Are u sure u want to go along that line?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2017 00:45:49
Kev, u really don't know what you are talking about . I presume u attend most of Celtic matches and don't attend as many matches of other teams .
Therefore u can't compare Gordon to other top goalies.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2017 17:18:51
Go back and check out some of the howlers that Forster, Boruc and Marshall made, it isn't only Gordon that makes mistakes,

Agree. Say we get circa 6m off the back of the VVD deal, which would be unbudgeted money really, and pergaps even put more money towards it, we should be able to go out and buy a top quality CB.

18 Nov 2017 13:33:52
A CB and a GK with that money would be perfect.
