Is it just me but around about this time last season we beat the new club twice in the space of a fortnight 4-0 in the SC semi final and 5-0 to clinch the title. Those matches were talked about in the media and by us supporters for a day or two after the games then that was it. 1 year on and the new club win a meaningless league game against us 2-0 after we have become champions for the 8th successive year and nearly a week on it is still headline news with their supporters and the media .
Small club mentality I suppose, got a victory over the big team.

Like I said in Another post, Sevco and the media will be telling everyone how they are now the top team in Scotland all summer.
They will be telling everyone what superstars they are signing, how they will win the treble next season and will be favourites with the bookies.
The first Derby will be at Mordor so we will need to put them back in there place before they shut up.
This is why we must get the managers appointment and our recruitment spot on this summer.

Can you imagine what it would be like if they actually won something. I'm not excusing our poor display last week but it happens in most leagues that after a team has clinched the title their performances can drop off, when all the hard work has been done it's only human nature to take things a bit easier.
On Sunday the league trophy will be awarded and Sevco will be nowhere to be seen, and next Saturday 2 teams will walk out at Hampden for the Scottish cup final and again Sevco will be notable by their absence, that is the cold hard reality of where the 2 clubs stand.

Interesting that none of our players tried to fight with them because they were celebrating.

Geez the meaning of that word again ed, love how u explain it in those simple terms.

Just a quick question, is Shaved eligible to play for us on sunday and in the cup final? I doubt he would have a starting place at Hampden but if he plays on sunday and performs well he could be useful to bring on if were needing a goal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - He isn't eligible mate.}

17 May 2019 17:45:33
Watching that NL Press Conference; he certainly seemed impressed with him in training and although he's not eligible, I can't wait to see what he can do. Ukraine Player Of The Year apparently?

I’m starting to worry that the fact that Lennon seems to be pressing ahead with scouting missions and looking at targets that he is the man getting the job why else would he be allowed to do this? Surly they would tell him we are putting all this on the back burner till we know whose getting the job permanently? It doesn’t make much sense god knows what to think but I’m starting to think Lennon will get the job 😭.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 May 2019 14:43:01
Just because it's reported that he is away scouting players doesn't mean anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 14:59:09
Why are you worried he was boss when we brought in wanyama Virgil Hooper ki plus was the mousse not scouted under a previous regime to rodgers.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 May 2019 15:20:45
And what happens if they put all the scouting mission on the back burner and then end up giving Lennon the job? At least this way if true he is actually out scouting then signings should be identified before the qualifiers start.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 May 2019 15:49:36
Heard joe Miller tell a story about wanyamas signing. He says Lennon had no idea who he was when he turned up to sign.

Agree0 Disagree5

17 May 2019 15:49:56
The club can't just stand still with all the turmoil and potential 'player traffic' in the summer. He is the man in possession at the moment and still in charge of all first team/ squad affairs until he is told otherwise for definite and his P45 is issued.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 May 2019 15:50:50
This anti Lennon thing is getting ridiculous the man deserves more respect.

Agree4 Disagree1

17 May 2019 16:50:24
Folk just don’t grasp modern day clubs signing policies? The coaching staff will say we need a right back and a left winger. the head of recruitment will go to the money men and say how much is in the budget for these two players? The head of recruitment get a budget then goes about scouting for suitable players in that price bracket gone are the days of club managers going to umpteen countries on scouting missions we as a club have scouts in most countries in Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 16:59:51
Mallythetally nobody is disrecpting him, majority just stating the obvious he is not the man for job. I wonder if you would be so defensive if it was Deila in question and not Lennon.

Agree5 Disagree0

17 May 2019 17:32:43
Phil it's getting worse he's getting blamed for everything from weah wanting away to planning some signings it's nonsense I am not his cheerleader and would hope we get a top class manager but the criticism is out of order.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 May 2019 17:44:55
At the moment NL is our manager. That includes looking at potential players. Just because we don't have a permanent manager doesn't mean the rest of the club stands still. Especially not this time of year.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 May 2019 18:29:20
Mallythetally he has not done himself any favours with some of the decisions he has made and tactics deployed. Playing the young boy Dembele will be a huge mistake, he is not ready. The list grows bigger each day and as a result I think critism is valid.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 May 2019 18:38:41
I agree he's not ready but u could play me on Sun the games immaterial it'll b a shadow side if he gives him 20 mins at the end what harm can iþ do.

17 May 2019 20:01:30
Macavennie saying a Celtic player responded to Lennon shouting at them for playing bad by saying "Brendan didn't shout at us"

That pretty much sums up the mentality of our squad. Soft in the head and it shows when games don't go out way and they fail to play 5 yard passes.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 20:31:04
Tesla369 yet even Steven Gerrard has stated that Brendan Rodgers was the best one to one manager he has ever played for? The same manager that has put us on course for treble treble?

Lennons that great a manager his aggression towards hibs players led to his dismissal.

Utter nonsense.

17 May 2019 20:35:12

Maca possibly knows because he was told by a player that was there, it's not like there isn't any leaks from within the club again.
It seems to have went back to the way it was before BR came in with stories and the teams being leaked again.

Far better than Lennon regardless Tesla.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 May 2019 21:52:36
Mallythetally he fell out with them because of their performance in previous game. There's nothing wrong in Lennon calling a clear the air meeting but it was his conduct whilst meeting was in session. I've heard off a few folk and I'm sure I heard it on radio synde that he was alledgelly drunk.

Agree0 Disagree1

17 May 2019 22:38:38
The Scottish media must love Celtic fans . No matter how crude and abusive the media is, they will always find a Celtic fan or fans to publicise it with no attempt to verify the veracity of the abuse.

Agree1 Disagree2

17 May 2019 23:12:22
The leaks from Celtic were most frequent when Rodgers was actually at Celtic .
I could never understand why any Celtic supporter could repeat and spread these leaks, as they were not in Celtic's interest.

Agree1 Disagree2

18 May 2019 00:13:57
Philtim both Lennon and Rodgers won leagues with no real competition.

Lennon got further with Celtic in Europe than Rodgers did with Liverpool and their cash riches. £200 mil spent and nothing to show for it.

So he spend hundreds of millions and could not reach the last 16 or even get past the last 32 of europa.

So stop pretending he is amazing. Lennon was in last 16 with a budgeted side

Strachan done it twice and never spent £200 mil

Strachan is a better manager than Rodgers. Yet nobody likes to admit that cos their heads have been right up him.

18 May 2019 01:20:14
Allegedly! Scott Brown’s got a Rangers tattoo on his leg, allegedly.

Agree0 Disagree2

18 May 2019 06:03:51
Don't talk nonsense Tesla. The gap between the top sides and us has increased massively since Lennon and Strachan were in charge. Rodgers is the best manager we've had since O'Neil (who also left us in a right mess)

Agree1 Disagree0

18 May 2019 09:18:10
Henrik quite some stretch of revisionism here.

The suggestion we were "closer" to the top sides in 2006-9 or 2011 is ridiculous.

We were miles off them then and nothing has changed except inflated prices

Means nothing. The best 11 still play for the best sides
Barca, real etc.

That's been the way since a long time ago. Nothing has changed except value.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2019 18:39:30
Tesla369 how was Lennons domestic cup record last time around?

Did Lennon get a treble? How many did Rodgers get?

Football transfer fees have went through the roof over past few seasons, especially past few seasons. Celtic could compete more back when Lennon had his tenure compared to now.

Your really beginning to sound silly now. It's actually cringeworthy.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 May 2019 22:24:15
How can a manager be regarded as great if he left us in a right mess .
This same manager had his strongest Celtic team in 2003 and he won hee- haw .

As far as many Celtic fans are concerned if a Celtic manager sticks out his chest and informs everyone that he is a top manager then us Celtic fans are gullible enough to believe him and no matter how badly he leaves us, we will speak in awe of him .

Hi bond speaking with ed 002 on the Newcastle page, says we'll post end up with the cheap option as the good option has been put aside? You able to shed any light.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No.}

17 May 2019 17:50:58
I just had a quick look Ramsey, the message was quite cryptic and doesn't really shed any light on what Ed002 might have heard.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 May 2019 19:02:28
Fully understand why ed002 didn't want to talk about Celtic on the Newcastle page. Any chance of elaborating who the good choice for next manager was on here?

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Steve Clarke.}

17 May 2019 22:22:59
Cheers Ed. Despite him being a bit of a greetin faced bugger, I actually liked the idea of Clarke as head coach. I think he could implement a decent brand of football with the players we have, more so than Lennon or Moyes. Shame if he is put off it for non footballing reasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 22:56:21
Kev I like Ed 002 as he/ she is clever with the way they word any and everything so keeps you guessing. Bonds quality as well as he hates the Huns.

Lennon "well they are good at making statements".

Believable4 Unbelievable0

16 May 2019 23:33:43
Hi ED am seeing that your man for the job is now on the betting list now I would definitely now to your knowledge then haha. After Lennon press conferences today it sure sounds like fighting talk from Lennon on his aspirations for the job full time. He says that they won’t be talking to anyone till after the cup final. But I just have a sneaky feeling that something regarding the manager position will get leaked Mid week just to rumble the feathers what’s your opinion? My gut feeling is that some big story will come out true or not true but some story will emerge trying to put Celtic off before cup final.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 May 2019 18:17:15
My heart wants lennon for the job maybe on a two year contract to finish the job he started. and he would deliver that no problem. my head says go for someone who will bring fresh ideas and keep the winning streak going.

Sunday’s team

Bain
Ralston
Benkovic
Ajer
Izzy

Brown
Henderson

Dembele
McGregor
Sinclair

Burke.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

17 May 2019 08:05:11
I presume this is another leak?

It's making me nervous the number of changes. I'd like a comprehensive win on Sunday with Edouard on the scoresheet. A 4 or 5-mothing win would knock the stuffing out of Hearts before the final.

Realistically Dembele, Henderson and Burke have no chance of playing at Hampden. Half an hour tops for any of them would be sufficient.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 09:02:22
Broony has a suspected broken toe looks like some of us will have to get the boots looked out.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 09:20:28
Brown struggling rich. Would play biton instead.

Agree0 Disagree2

17 May 2019 09:20:51
Brown has a broken toe but will hopefully be okay for the final.
Toljan is only one league appearance away from receiving a Premiership winners medal, so he will play at some stage in the game against Hearts. Out of my starting line up for Sunday only Ajer is certain of keeping his place for the final.

De vries
Ralston. Ajer. Benkovic. Izzy
Bitton. Ntcham
Dembele. Henderson. Johnston
Burke.

Bain

Ralston
Ajer
Benkovic
Izzy

Henderson
Bitton
Ntcham

Dembele
Johnston
Sinclair.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 May 2019 12:42:13
I wouldn’t like to see young Dembele in the squad yet. He was completely overpowered by their u/ 19’s in the cup final. The young fella just ain’t ready yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Dembele is nowhere near ready for the first team and it's sheer stupidity on Lennon's part to even consider putting a kid like him in against what we know will be a very physical Craig Levein side. If he plays I'll just be hoping he doesn't get injured.}

17 May 2019 15:01:29
Not ready and too small at this point.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 15:53:19
Watched the Aberdeen v Hearts game last week, they are not against kicking and there centre forward likes to use his elbows, as the Aberdeen defenders found out.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 19:11:19
Should only come on for 10 minutes if anything, certainly not starting. Can see him being targeted and if injured the issue being raised referencing the Broony/ Cochrane incident. He's too small and young and isn't the best performer in the reserves. If anything Okoflex deserves the run out.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2019 23:17:32
In the two games against them it was difficult to access Dembelle as they had two or three players on him everytime, he got the ball .
I always thought if a player was good enough, he is old enough to play .
