So Duff and Duffer want to appeal the appeal based on the argument that the transfer embargo was not a sanction available to the panel. I fully agree, so let them use the sanction that was available, THROW THEM OUT OF SCOTTISH FOOTBALL>

Please post this, i think the sfa are hammering rankers just now so that they can let them off in the future, ( they will say if both sets of fans are upset, we're doing well) this is just my opinion, anyone agree?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Let us off with what in the future?
craig+babybear {Ed007's Note - Peeing in the swimming baths...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he means the investigation by SPL over dual contracts, this would result in sanctions from them but could also result in further sanctions from sfa for bringing game into disrepute again.
DB77

Agree1 Disagree0

The SFA will hammer Rangers once it is proven that dual contracts were used.

This is more serious that the current charges Rangers and Whyte have been found guilty of.

I personally think if it does go that way it"ll be div 3 though i think anybody buying us must have known what was coming and knows it might be ok.........yes i know im optimistic..

Hi all, regarding the rankers, i can't stop thinking that the sfa have knocked back their appeal so that they can let them away with the rest. (that way if both sets of fans are moaning, they can say "we have obviously done right" anyone else thought this?

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Nonsense, if sfa find any evidence of dual contracts etc rangers will be punished, if not uefa will step in. johnbhoy79

Okay, so this might sound a bit far fetched but Nesta and Del Piero are both free - both have been on losing sides at Parkhead before so they know what the European nights have to offer! Or more realistically Andrea Caracciolo, is 6'4" an experienced striker and out of favour at Genoa so probably quite cheap. Think we were linked to him before too.

How about Michael Owen on a pay as you play deal? The only time I have ever called a radio station, TalkSport, was to discuss bringing him in to play beside Chris Suttton. I know he is getting on a bit now, but his experience alone would bring on all our young players.

Reading some of the stuff on Rangers Media is hilarious, they are going to
boycott any company that has a link to SFA, one of them is Wisemans Dairies so bears going to not buy MILK...
Also one bear posted "lets march on Hampden on Saturday stop team coaches getting to ground, 100k of us protesting don't want any trouble, but if Hibs/Hearts fans want some so be it...."
Another bear posted" be careful it will only take ONE TIM and it will all kick off"...
At least they have admitted it.. ONE TIM = 100k bears LOL Timalloy

Are Administrators not appointed to solve problems and make impartial decisions to appease creditors and cut costs etc?
Many other clubs in Admin have had to accept they are culpable and responsible as the hard decisions are made to enable a way out of Administration and achieve means of resolving financial crisis and survival; But I think this mob Duffers'r'us are compounding their problems and costing them more money and debt?
Am I missing something?

Jungle Jim {Ed007's Note - I have said on many occasions Jim, it is the strangest administration I have ever known, in or out of football. There is still more money going out than is coming in, there must be, the player's wage cuts/deferrals probably only cover D&P's costs.}

Agree1 Disagree1

The administrators should've gone in, cut the playing staff and reduced the contracts of the ones (I'd have suggested the saleable assets) kept on. Millions more saved than the bare minimum, and chances are - with the correct cuts - they'd still have finished 2nd comfortably so wouldn't lose revenue. Even if they didn't finish 2nd I still think they'd make more money this way. Either way a stricter approach would at least make it seem as if they're actually doing something besides spinning guff in the media. I think the fact they kept on so many players means they and Rangers knew a transfer embargo was a realistic possibility which begs the question - why waste even more money on appeals? Biggest scam in the history of footballing administration.

morning all and ed,just reading the darksides page there,it`s a f**kin scream.they,re still sticking by why is it happening to us the fans and are still moaning about the decision being upheld against them by the sfa.
as they keep saying it`s not our fault we have done nothing wrong in one hand then hobble along the streets(lets say 1500-2000 of them)in protest for THEIR tax dodging rangers when they welcomed sir craig whyte and that muppet murray and their so called wealth off the radar into their club to spend THEIR money and now say that's nothing to do with us(fair enough wee craigy w took them for a ride)but will still accept last years and all the other titles and cups they won under murray, (hypocritical don,t you think so)and they think it`s a disgrace
that the decision was upheld one of them stating that it could easily be a restriction of trade.(even though they have 40 pro footballers on their books)i think they are lucky to even have a league to play in never mind greetin over their punishment they should just get on with it stop embarrassing their team even more if they can,kb-bhoy

Believable4 Unbelievable1

17 May 2012 11:25:54
Are these Bears for real? the still dont get it do they? Now saying what D&P said that the SFA didnt have the remit to impose this punishment... well i think if the bothered their arse and looked into the situation then the SFA were well within thier rights to issue punishment as they saw fit. Its in the rules and its in the guidance for punishment. Can they still not see that they are getting off lightly. If i were a Rangers fan i would just be happy it was not increased!.

My worry now is that Rangers are going to go to a court and we all know how much UEFA dislike that, This could have further consequences for us. Unlikley I know but UEFA will not be liking the noises coming out of Rangers for the next wee while. Unless of course they appeal it through UEFA themselves, surley D&P arent stupid enough to beleive all the pish being spouted by fans who have quite frankly shown in general (only very few exceptions here) that they do not have a bloody clue about what is going on and why it is going on!

A well done to the SFA for once, they have stuck to their guns and enforced a decision although a reduced punishment for the crimes of not paying Tax and bringing the game into disrepute and not abiding by numerous other rules regarding the payment of match day fees etc etc etc etc. I expected the bottle to crash, but it didnt. Now they have set a precident with one club that finally the SFA mean business and long may that continue!

Yes no-one likes being punished but sometimes is just a necessity, Not necisarily to put the knife in as some are claiming, but to give warning that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated in a sporting institution... is this so hard to comprehend?? Apparently so!

When Celtic's on-loan players leave, and loaned-outs return, Celtic will have a squad of 39 players. We need a major clear-out, and bring in top quality. These are the players I'd cut;

GK: Forster (If he isn't 100% committed)
DF: Cha Du-Ri, Loovens, Wilson
MF: Juarez, Ki Sung Yueng, McCourt, Kayal
ST: Stokes, Rasmussen

We should get at least 15/16 million for the 9 players.

I'd say we need a new midfielder and 1 forward player, possibly a keeper if Forster leaves. I have a few suggestions;

The keeper;
Craig Gordon, but preferably: Yann Sommer from FC Basel, top keeper only 23, can't imagine he'd cost more than £3-4 million.

The midfielder;
19 year old Norwegian, Markus Henriksen from Rosenborg, massive potential! Already linked with him, he'd cost about £4 million and would be a steal, I think he'd like to come too: Fellow Norwegian Thomas Rogne, and ex-teammate Mikael Lustig.

The Striker;
This is where I think we should really do what it takes to get this player. John Guidetti. He's Swedish, only 20 years old, 6"1 and on loan at Feyenoord from Man City. He has scored 20 goals in 23 games this season. I also think he'd come- teammate Lustig and Johan Mjällby being there. I also don't think there's a chance in hell he'll get a game for City next season, ahead of Agüero? Ahead of Tévez? Ahead of Džeko? Ahead of Balotelli? No chance. Something in side tells me he could be the next Larsson. Swedish, Feyenoord? I'd say City would want about 6-8 million for him. PAY IT!

Hopeful team next season:

GK: Sommer (Or Forster if he stays)
RB: Matthews
CB: Mulgrew
CB: Rogne
LB: Izaguirre
LM: Commons (Rotation w/ Ledley)
CM: Wanyama (Rotation w/ McGeouch)
CM: Brown (Rotation w/ Henriksen)
RM: Forrest
ST: Guidetti (Number 7)
ST: Hooper (Rotation w/ Watt)

We could do something in Europe with this team.

Hail Hail,

PatrickC7

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Kayal ? are you insane

Agree3 Disagree2

Guidetti and Sommer are likely to cost in the region of £10m-£13m. Both young European talents. Guidetti's goal scoring record at Feyenoord was outstanding and Sommer's performances in Europe won't go unnoticed.

Keep dreaming though......

TTG

Agree2 Disagree2

You'd get rid of Kayal, but keep Forrest? it was quite evident that forrest isn't quite ready for the rigours of a full season yet, and his last 8 or 9 performances were extremely poor. Kayal, if he stays clear of injury has the potential to become one of the best midfielders in britain.
and you'd also use our top scorer for 2 seasons on a rotational basis with a promising youngster??

sorry mate, can't agree with this

taco

Agree10 Disagree2

Taco Taco Taco, behave yourself. Kayal is a decent midfielder but to think he will become one of the best in britain if he stays clear of injury is insane. He is average at best.

TTG {Ed007's Note - I know of a few EPL and continental managers/scouts who would disagree with you.}

Agree2 Disagree7

TTG...if you can't see that Kayal is a class act, then you have serious issues. he's already one of the best midfielders in scotland, if not THE best, but if you can't see that or choose not to acknowledge it, then you clearly have no idea as to what makes a good footballer.....i bet you still think davis is brilliant? even though he's a shadow of the player he was 2 years ago.
the truth is, right now Kayal could command a fee of £7m+, and he's only going to get better

taco

Agree3 Disagree0

Totally agree with taco. who could ever say kayal wasnt good enough and formation was all wrong there. think lenny has it with us playing 3cbs mostly with big vic playing as the one who comes out to midfield more often.

also why buy the young boy from city when 700k loan bid could swing it our way. very unlikely lenny is looking at him tho decent scoring record if right.

the yak the man for me right now out of recent rumours here but certainly wil be more mentioned

also hope gordon isnt the only option for us

looks like the others should have been putting alot more money into there youth team inorder to makw them better then spending all there money trying to win the one great trophy we have, now that they cant sign anyone. wonder how long we have before we hear ally start saying how the pannel killed rankers. as if they know nothing about how they were runned for years. DM to get CW to do all this is truley his best idea he had for there club, for it seems he is getting away with everything but then again alot more to come out eh. lol

So far not 1 rangers fan or official has admitted that withholding tax payments to hmrc, hm mind you, warrants the sanctions now confirmed. It's all boycott this boycott that. They all need us.......why should we be punished ?
I think this organisation is manifestly institutionally and philosophically corrupt.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Spot on mate , they think murray and white should get all the punishment on a personal level and ignore the fact that all the dodgey dealings helped them win trophies and titles . titles that earned them millions from the champions league . yes it was murray and white but the back room boys and the board members must have known what was going on and turned a blind eye and deaf ear . so all that happened was done in the name of rangers football club , they got the benefits and now must get the punishment ..bb

As this proud footballing giant stands on the brink of extinction, BBC Scotland Investigates the inside story of the scandal which brought Rangers FC to its knees. This is a programme based on dozens of secret emails, letters and documents which uncover the truth behind the tax scheme which threatens the club's very existence, and reveals what went on behind the scenes in the run up to Craig Whyte's infamous takeover. From the day Sir David Murray took up the reigns at Ibrox, through the nine-in-a-row Championship years to the ignominy of owner Craig Whyte's reign and the plunge into administration, this programme charts the descent from glory into chaos of one of Scotland's great institutions. Along the way, investigative reporter Mark Daly goes in search of answers to the questions every Scottish football fan is asking, and attempts to confront those who are responsible for the Ibrox club's plight.
