Celtic going to Fir Park Motherwell tomorrow and one thing we can expect to happen is Motherwell players to kick our players black and blue without conceding fouls because the referee is Craig Thompson who studied for his profession under the same tutor as W Collum. It will be interesting to see if any the assistants tomorrow have as big a mouth as the Tory MP last week who in his excitement forgot he was running the line and thought he was a fan in the crowd shouting "red card" four times . I was surprised to see him in the Rangers dugout at another stage of the match . That must have been another knicker wetting moment for him .
Hopefully we will win tomorrow but as far as league is concerned it hardly matters as Rangers2012 and Aberdeen don't seem to be able to mount a consistent challenge.

Brilliant. There were a couple of knuckle balls in there, get him practising them with dorus and showing some other players how to hit a dead ball. The wee man is class.

Imagine he was a striker that we were looking to buy in today's market, after watching that compilation as we all would have, we would be screaming out for him.

Best dead ball striker we have by a country mile, long may he be a Celt!

I think Ralston going to Dundee Utd is a great move. It's a lower level so it'll be easier to get back into the swing of things plus he'll get way more minutes than he would here. They're still in the hunt for promotion so there will still be pressure to get results. Hopefully he'll get up to speed and come back fit and raring for preseason. Win-Win.

Kevbhoy, you are right, the competition for right back at Celtic is probably too great for a rookie right back returning from so long out for him to get much playing time.

Although i'd have liked to have seen Ralston get some game time going to the Arabs is a good move he will come back fully fit with more experience for pre season. We should be looking to put as many youngsters as possible out to SPL and Championship clubs imo. Sitting on the bench or the Development League will do nothing for their progress, playing against the same players they played against year in year out at different age groups. Get them out to toughen them up, the experience of playing at a better standard and mixing outwith the luxuries of the Academy, it will do them good. Actually the Development League should be scrapped, bring back the Reserve League so that youngsters can play alongside and against 1st team stars who need game time or coming back from injury. Next season guys like Johnston, Aitchison etc need to push on and they won't do that playing against kids.

I think Ralston can take heart from ajer. his loan spell at killie has arguably turned him into our best CB.
Ralston was unlucky with the timing of his injury as he was getting some game time.
Am sure getting games and good pre season under his belt will see him pushing for a 1st place.

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Mar 2018 12:52:30
Ajer and McGregor both benefited from loan spells away and regular competitive football and Christie will be the same. Unfortunately it didn't quite work out for Henderson - who I thought had a future with Celtic, but I too miss the reserve league format as it was ideal for blooding youngsters and getting injured/ new players up to fitness.

Agree4 Disagree0

17 Mar 2018 13:03:14
Agree with that Gents. I think also Reserve football would attract bigger crowds. Not saying youngsters don't enjoy watching Development games but they would attend more games if they thought there was a chance of seeing one of their heroes in an enviroment where they are closer to the action etc. I think the Development League is a failed Project players over 17 should be playing reserve football to prepare them better.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 Mar 2018 13:31:16
Rodgers will have been watching Ralston in training and if he thought he was ready for first team action he would not have loaned him.

We need to remember that while we will most likely win the league it is not yet mathematically impossible for someone to catch us and I'm sure Rodgers will have that in mind as he will field his strongest team.

Excellent from Rodgers replying to Fergusons"lucky" comments.

"They were all away, at Pittodrie, Hamilton and Ibrox.

"In those matches, over the course of the time we were down to 10 men, it has been 94 minutes, so virtually a game and extra-time we've played with 10 men.

"And in those games, when we were down a man, we scored four goals and conceded none. I don't think that's luck.

I wouldn't have said that much as his column was designed to get a response from us.

When he was asked about Barry Ferguson's comments, he should have said I don't read that garbage and I urge anyone who does to treat it with a large pinch of salt.
