I've set up a poll: Should Celtic sell Ntcham to Porto for the reported £14 million this month?

A wee bit disappointed to see how many folk would sell. I really rate the bhoys and can see him becoming captain one day. Still, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Captain! Not a chance will he be captain! For a start he won’t be here long enough to get that honour and there’s a lad called Kieran Tierney who mite have something to say about that lol! I rate Ntcham to and on his game he’s a class act, but I’d take 14 million if it was offered. he's just not looked rite at all in the past few months, and looks like his minds elsewhere.

Probs mostly Sevco fans saying sell most Bhoys rate him.

I said sell, but only because if that money is on offer we can't refuse it, we cld buy 2/ 3 decent players for that or 2 very good ones . Ie mccarthy from everton, boy is born to wear the hoops, maja from sunderland, star of the future, n still money left over for either a ch or rb. Nicham is good but for that kind of money, let him go hh.

I also voted to sell. I’ve said on other threads in a big fan of Ntcham but at £14m I would take the money. I don’t think he’s been missed this season when he’s not played and there’s no doubting his form has been poor. Having said that I don’t believe the club will sell him and he may very well go in to be our best player in the second half of the season.

I voted to sell, decent player on his day but far too inconsistent. Calmac and christie all day long for me in the middle. If Porto throw in Mbemba aswell which we badly need a CB then it would go down as one of the club's best piece of transfer buisness imo.

18 Jan 2019 00:33:19
Gordoja you say sell him and we could by 2/ 3 decent players but We never see the money spent anyway were still waiting on two years champions league money Stuart Armstrong and Dembeles money to be spent.

18 Jan 2019 05:36:22
That's a pretty good point Rogic. I'm not so confident right now I'd ve happy with the way such money was spent. So, keep a quality young player is the vote from me.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 06:47:26
I voted stay
He’s shown us he’s a player
And he’s young.

I said sell although I do rate him highly. I said that for a few reasons:

1. He is off form and has been for much of this season and the longer he is out of the team the more his value will drop.

2. He rarely turns up in the away games.

3. 14 million is a great price for him, assuming the fee quoted is accurate.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 07:59:25
I voted to keep him. If they’re offering £14M now, what might they offer in a year or two. It amazes me how many of our fans think we should take the first offer a club makes to us yet they also think we should up our offer and pay whatever a selling club is asking for their player.

18 Jan 2019 09:32:18
I posted recently that last season I thought he was going to be a star for us as he had the 'whole package', but the Dembele fiasco seems to have had a very negative effect on him.
If ever we needed the nurturing, reassuring personal touch of the great man, Tommy Burns - it's in situations like this.

18 Jan 2019 09:54:55
Malkybhoy i do agree we never seem to spend the money, but we have to keep beleiving that if the money comes in for ncham, we would strengthen further. Prefer it to happen adap. If its at end of window board will say we've not had enough time to spend. As i said previously i do like ncham but 14m is a great deal for us. that's also weather we spend or bank lol hh.

Ed007, just a quick question for you and I appreciate that you can only give an opinion (unless you have some specific information) , do you anticipate any further quality signings before the window closes? HH.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I do think there will be more signings, Bob - whether they're quality or not will be THE debate lol.}

Ed would a move for McTominay end the interest in McCarthy? Very different types of player but couldn't see us going for both.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Longer term I wouldn't think so mate, especially if it's going to be yet ANOTHER 🤬 loan!}

17 Jan 2019 20:52:27
There seems to be a bit of uncertainty about how fit or unfit McCarthy currently is. I'd rather have McCarthy out of the two but if a loan for McTominay was just to bolster the squad until we make our move in the summer I'd be happy enough with that.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 01:24:00
I'm not sure another youngster is the answer, mccarthy all day long for me. Mctominay played in a rubbish mourinho team, he's hardly been near ole's team n they're doing far better than the Portuguese one ever did.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2019 09:30:24
Wouldn’t waste the money on either. We already have better midfielders than McTominay and whilst McCarthy is a fine player, his persistent injuries over the last two years mean that it could take months for him to be up to speed. He probably needs some more time in the Pub League reserve league, to get up to speed.

Hi Ed can you clarify if there is a limit on how many loans in a club can have at any one time or throughout a season?

Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - There's no limit with players from other F.As but that's all changing in season 20/21 to stop clubs like Chelsea and Man City stockpiling players and sending them out on loan. A recent FIFA report showed that one unnamed club had loaned out 146 players between 2011 and 2017.}

17 Jan 2019 19:51:58
Ridiculous stats that ed. In 5 years celtic could be an unnamed club that's loaned IN 146 players if we keep up at this rate 🤣
Thanks for that ed 👍.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure I read Chelsea have 30-40 out on loan either last season or this season.}

17 Jan 2019 20:45:56
They have 41 on loan. 5 are goalkeepers.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 21:52:42
Juventus are bad for it as well. Think a few seasons ago including co-owned players they had something like 64 players out at different clubs. This co-ownership is something that needs dealt with, gives teams an unfair advantage.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It's not allowed in Italy anymore - since season 14/15 ended - and will eventually be banned altogether going with what Ed002 has said about it over the years. It's more a South American thing.}

17 Jan 2019 23:00:23
I never knew that it was already banned. The italians are always upto something lol.

If so what's everyone's thought on the issue?

So is anyone really expecting anything from tonight's so called "clarity meeting" in Perth with the SFA?
My point is this, when Sevco complained about a referee, they got a ONE TO ONE meeting with head of SFA, Celtic are only getting a GROUP meeting with all 12 teams invited, classic divide and rule by the SFA as they are hoping the other clubs turn it all on Celtic.
I just wish good old Fergus or John Reid was still around they would have these cheating barsteawrds on toast.

17 Jan 2019 17:16:58
Tim the evidence is damning it's there in black and white how they can explain the decisions against us in the sevco game Aberdeen Motherwell the list goes on so never know.

Agree3 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 18:44:01
I think like usual the SFA Will just deny any wrongdoing And no change will be made about the men from Lanarkshire. Regardless of how many teams complain with proof nothing will come out of it unless we threaten to take our complaints to a out side authority and that will not happen.

Can UEFA carry out an investigation into Beaton?

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2019 22:42:51
So talking about introducing VAR good first step But still no explanation from SFA about the I can't see anything wrong with what Players do from a certain team. Not a witch hunt but still feel we should have got one and steps put in place for certain Refs not to have anything to do with that club in any official capacity.

What a waste of time. The only acceptable outcome from this is Morelos recieving a ban. They are corrupt.

18 Jan 2019 10:13:25
They said it will take time.
It will not be in the next 2 and a half years.
Time enough to stick to their mission and that is to do all that is humanly possible from their appointed officials to stop the 10.

All this tom foolery with McKenna, should look at taking two experienced defenders from Serie A in the form of Andrea Rannocia and Martin Caceres (who can also play Rb) . Both of whom's contracts are expiring. Food for thought.?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

17 Jan 2019 12:34:02
I'd rather have McKenna than Caceres. Ranocchia possibly worth a punt.
