Any word on fall and steven fletcher? Seemingly they are the next 2 targets.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

18 Jan 2016 00:36:09
steven fletcther, no, no, no, and thrice no.

Agree4 Disagree2

18 Jan 2016 07:55:01
That's 4 no's.

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 07:58:49
Technically, it's 6 nos;)

Agree1 Disagree2

18 Jan 2016 10:56:45
You could argue it's 8 no's! I'd actually take him though, purely because it's a Bosman, he'd also be a good foil for Griffiths if we played a 2! He might be more settled in Hamilton - Ed will know, someone told me his old dear is from there! He knows the club, but for me the biggest thing is his experience, he has played at a good level, for different clubs, he's still under 30 and should actually be in his prime, and to be fair over the last couple of years he's had injuries, O'Neill paid over £12 million for him! So all in all I would take a chance on him! I'd prefer someone else as well though in this window and wait until the summer for Fletcher because he won't need time to settle in! This Norweigan kid had some goal scoring record, even in Europe, and he's more a 2nd striker! If we could do that and let a few like GMS/ Cifti go on loan even for a year and a half, and Christie and O'Connell on loan for 6 months! I'd happily let Izzy, Mulgrew, Stokes, Commons and Forrest leave full time!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 18:04:45
I give Flether his ninth no. He has played very little football over the last four years, either through injury or by his manager not wanting him in first eleven . These years of on / off football wouldn't augur well in my opinion for a player who would have to take a massive cut in wages and still be among our highest earners.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Over the last five years Fletcher has spent 93 and 158 days out with two separate ankle injuries on top of 26 (TWENTY SIX) other spells out injured.}

19 Jan 2016 01:01:59
ed007 he isn't exactly over played as I said and it's doubtful if he could reach his previous best form and play at that level consistently.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - His previous best form isn't too hot imo. He's one of those strikers that doesn't score many goals. Is Feletcher JP's proposed striker signing this window like Danny Wilson was his CB recommendation in the summer? It wouldn't be the first time JP has enticed Fletcher to sign for a club. I can't see why an average player with an appalling injury history would have ever shown up on RD's radar for whatever reason.}

19 Jan 2016 18:07:16
Let us hope that Fletcher never becomes a realistic target by Celtic . He has promised more than he has delivered.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 20:22:46
Great first signing of the window
I think we only need another winger
What's everyone else's thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Jan 2016 20:36:02
I would like at least one winger and another forward.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 20:51:49
A left sided winger is a must now and a proper striker to help out Griffiths, too lightweight upfront!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 21:00:25
Yeah I'm pleased with him also, he has good experience for his age! Also playing in Scandinavia is better preparation that Portugal. We have a good record with their players, even out with Henrik! I think the lad Falk would be a cracking Bosman, he seems highly rated, but had a few injuries. For me though we definitely need a holding midfielder and a striker! I'd also like to see a few leaving!

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Jan 2016 21:03:13
Would you not prefer to see Nesbitt or even Miller given a chance as we will easily win the league anyway?

Personally speaking, I have faith in Deila's ability to develop players and don't think we should sign anyone else in this window.

Agree0 Disagree3

17 Jan 2016 21:03:19
I would like us to sign another forward, if Griffiths gets injured or goes off form I think we would really struggle.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Jan 2016 21:04:28
Oh and I like Sviatchenko's clobber!

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 23:41:42
Agree with Miller and Nesbitt, I hope the rumours of these 2 city youngsters aren't true as Ronny should be developing his own youngsters rather than other teams.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 00:38:20
are we forgetting all the scadinavian, total waste of times that ended up at celtic park?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 08:01:46
Henrik, Mjallby, Reiper, Weighorst, Johanssen all cost around £6 million! Brattbakk and Riseth weren't brilliant but still a success! Pukki didn't work out, I still think he had a bit of ability though and is doing really well at Brondby! I just don't think he could handle the expectations with us, the pressure, he seemed like a shy lad! Off the top of my head I can't think of any real failures Aindoh!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 08:05:36
Oh and I forgot Lustig, until this year arguably our best player!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 08:59:10
Delhi. . could pukki be excluded from any scandanavian list as he's Finnish.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 11:02:43
Well Finland is Scandinavia! I was actually waiting for Aindoh to mention Bangura who is from Sierra Leone which is just off Greenland!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 11:57:13
I'm not at wind up but isn't scandanavia . Sweden . Norway . Denmark .? Norwegian red can you clarify. for me please . would iceland be classed as scandanavian also?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 13:03:04
I'm not sure if technically Iceland/ Greenland/ Finland aren't officially Scandinavia but are stuck to each other and certain words are the same! It's like Clydebank and Easterhouse - they're Glasgow to me. I blame my geography teacher! Just for the record, I was joking about Sierra Leone! I talk enough rubbish without getting pulled up for that!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 13:16:39
Your right drb Scandinavia is made up of Denmark Sweden and Norway but when people talk football wise it's prob inferred to include Iceland and Finland which are neighbouring countries.

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Jan 2016 16:01:27
I think this Danish guy will turn out to be Ronnies best signing, seems to have his head screwed on the right way.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 17:25:44
Don't forget big Magnus Hedman :P.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 19:28:02
What about Arnie Saknussem, was'nt he here?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2016 10:15:59
Correct, Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The rest with Finland and Iceland is called the nordic. So Pukki is not from scandinavia. You also had Rogne at your club who didn't do that well.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 19:09:48
Looking on you tub for vids of Shevchenko. . and came across a video . future of danish football. young talents and who pops up near the start but the boy rasmus falk . don't know how good the whole list is but he's in amongst so. e great talent . and tge am ount of young Danes playing in top leagues is impressive . ajax in particular have done well in this league for talent . well worth a look for ronnie as he should/ could have Co tact there.

Meant to address this to . kieran bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 20:07:06
Sounds promising. I honestly had no idea who the lad was so. With all these rumours could it be were following up on some of ronnys targets
As you say drb some great talent in these leagues and this is where we should be looking for our players.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 17:42:02
Not Celtic related but is it just me or is this EPL turning rubbish?

Now watching the second game and every time a clicked over to the Aberdeen and Hibs game today to check the scores they were far more action and dare I say entertaining!

Whoever packages this as to the premium they charge it truly is awful to watch and been like since the season started IMO

Product is pi$$ poor!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

17 Jan 2016 18:05:40
Understand what you are saying mate, but all games are not " on the edge of your seat games"
However over the season, I would say the 20% are top games 40% are good games and 20% just average.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Jan 2016 18:33:49
That's only 80 % cprs1.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Jan 2016 19:17:54
Ooops soz guys got distracted and 20% P! $$ Poor

Anyway welcome to the team Erik Sviatchenko.

17 Jan 2016 19:51:44
2 massive matches in England today. Half a billion worth of talent. One goal. The English championship is bang average. So what's the difference. They can sell a product. They talk up there game so much that they actually believe they can win world cups and there teams deserve to win the cl every year. All we ever do is talk down our game. We over charge so that every stadium sits empty on matchday. We need to start filling stadiums looking after fans and talking up our product.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 00:13:43
Its not a half a billion 'worth', it might be the 'cost ', maybe am being pedantic, but money has ruined the game in England, how can you expect any one to do a good job if he knows he will get paid the same amount whether he does a good job or he does a shit job, (should have said in scotland and the rest of europe as well) , the country is full of food banks and underperforming money grabbing arseholes who would'nt know hard work if it bit them, or worth, I hope these new scandinavian transfer targets are better than the other ones in recent years that have dissapointed,

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Jan 2016 00:54:25
Good post Aindoh, Sky BT and sponsorship have removed the need for football in the EPL.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 17:19:47
Not a rumour but quite a lot of people excited about this rasmus falk. Anyone know much about him. Liked the sound of the guy from molde but doubt That's happening.

17 Jan 2016 15:41:04
Watching the Liverpool game, just how far have these two teams fallen, and all the hundreds of millions spent on players, both set of players look like donkeys. Fellaini and Lallano I have seen milk turn quicker. Henderson of Liverpool makes decent runs but then does not have the brains to find a good pass.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

17 Jan 2016 17:18:27
Every dog has its day . Tinkering with changing he manager doesn't bring much improvement .

Chris, Celtic could have told them that.

So having placed all my footie bets here they are.
I think in Liverpool-Man Utd game BTTS, over 2.5 goals, maybe a penalty (got it on as well as an ordering off as game is usually feisty)
I expect Arsenal, Millwall and Oxford to win for a nice wee treble.
Also my usual bets in Spain, Ronaldo, BTTS and over 2.5 goals in Real game.
Messi, Suarez and Neymar scorers, over 2.5 goals and a penalty.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

17 Jan 2016 17:09:47
Stick to the Spanish Tim. It's much more predictable.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 19:46:22
Tim since you promised to put all your bets up here before a match you've been shown up my friend. Where are all these winning bets that cover Christmas and bills and holidays.

Hi Ed, Do you know how Christies injury is coming along? Will he be in the squad any time soon or has he a long way to go yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed007's Note - Christie started back training last week but I don't know when he'll be fit enough to be in the squad.}

17 Jan 2016 23:48:34
Cheers Ed.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

17 Jan 2016 12:24:37
prepare to be surprised, I am posting to PRAISE Deila, looks like we have signed, or are close to signing, the centre half from Midjiland for about £2m. This looks a good signing as he is Champions League level and is a Danish international. Ronnie appears to be now looking at the Scandivian market which he should know well, I also believe he is looking at another player, Falk from this area also.
Players who can come in and make an immediate impact, so yes Ronnie a big well done. (excuse me now I must go and lie down after so much praise for our manager lol)

Believable2 Unbelievable5

17 Jan 2016 13:21:28
Tim know nothing about him but I am waiting until I see him play. So far the majority of signings have not cut it so I hope this one is different? Let's see.

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Jan 2016 13:29:13
We are going to remember you said this is a good signing, so you can't slag Deila later if it goes wrong lol.

Agree2 Disagree1

17 Jan 2016 13:52:17
I just hope that the board have actually had the penny drop that the Manager should pick the players that come in not them or a scout No matter who the manager is he should have most of the say as to who comes in the board should be there to set up the deal and the scout there to SUJEST what plays are like only.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 14:26:36
Many of the signings in recent years (including loans) have been very disappointing, or so-far unconvincing, with Griffiths, Denayer, VVD and Johansen on his game, maybe being the major exceptions, Simunovic may be another?
I haven't actually seen either of these two in action, but if we do get them I hope they make a positive impact.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 17:24:23
I think Ed has been correct in that Park and Lawwell have been responsible for choosing the players up to now . R D has given them an ultimatum that it's either his selections or he is out of Celtic Park .
Now he is getting his chance, without a hand tied behind his back .

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2016 18:58:28
Chris, Delia has said, up till now all the signings are his.
He wouldn't be lying, would he?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2016 18:14:40
nearly every Uk based manager would say that when employed, later on after he loses his job. He will say that he hadn't full control. On the Continent most clubs employ coaches and a different person or people sign the players . In the Uk it's still regarded as been weak managing/ coaching a team and admitting not in charge of signings .
Those who want to knock Deila will blame him for all the poor signings .

One of my betting pals (what other kind would I have lol) has given me a wee French double today
