Ed what's your thoughts on guidetti do u think he has told the board he is not staying and that's y rd is rotating strikers trying to find something that fits or do u think it's just rd is just tinkering?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Nah, I just don't think he's made any decision yet.}

Happy with the result against a decent team on a different surface. Well done RD

Evening Ed just watched Inter play out a 0-0 draw with a very average team Inter seem to be full of Star names but having just watched that game they don't look a good team, they look like a team of individual's also there struggling in the league so are they going to focus to much attention to the Europa League!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Been keeping a closer eye on them than normally myself. Definitely not the animal they were.

They are desperate defenders, they rush out and don't double, but almost treble up on opponents! Good old bit of playing it to the edge of their area, then out wide should see them scatter before whipping it in for someones napper should be the way. Although I accept RD is trying to get us playing the same way all the time, and in the long run is good, I think you need a balance and sometimes have to play like an underdog or anti football or whatever cliche you want to use. Get the big men on!

As for not doing well in the league though mate perhaps they'll see EL as their best chance of CL.

Agree0 Disagree0

In all honesty our own quality has dropped significantly since our impressive CL days and we have been very inconsistent in Europe this season (even in recent friendlies).
It is very satisfying that we have got some consistency and form back, but I feel any Inter team will be too strong for us and we should concentrate on domestic trophies.
Not an easy thing to concede for a supporter who usually expects us to beat any opponent we play.

Hey Ed what chances do you reckon we have of getting Denayer 'permanently'?

I know Vieria really rates him and I'm starting to see glimpes of why. But Man City have typically thrown money at a problem rather than bringing players through, that, coupled with the links of RD and Mark Lawwell do you think it could be a possibility?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I don't think we'd have any chance just now but the way things are he could stay on loan next season as well, City are more than happy with the way things are going. Maybe next summer (2016) when Denayer's contract is up and depending on what happens between now and then with City we'd have a better chance but I wouldn't hold out much hope of it happening.}

I get ya drift big man. Would preter we developed our own youngsters but the climate we're in I suppose no real talents are going to be around too long. As long as playsrs are contributing I'm happy.

Totally delighted with today's performance. That's the last 2 games we've comfortably played the opposition off the park and never looked like losing. Hopefully come Wednesday we'll be back on top of the league and bang back on course for the title.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now I think RD can come out and say we really are improving. Think GMS will bring that bit more needed creativity in the final third and perhaps another player in that department but might be a bit much to ask in January. Really pleased Henderson has came back into the side and did so well yet again. Has he ever had a poor game? Hopefully Scepovic starts the next game too.

Agree1 Disagree0

The last two away performances have been very encouraging, we seem to be finding a bit of form at a good time of the season.
We have a big few weeks ahead, and if we can keep this up we should be fine.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good to see positivity from all the bhoys. Delighted with another win and clean sheet.

I have seen us play better and drop points, that surface today looked really fast and showed we had no real pace in that squad.

First half I actually thought Henderson was poor and blew his chance of a regular start but that finish was superb. Can't wait to Wednesday to give Motherwell a going over 👍

Evening Ed, Delighted with an efficient performance today see Mathews comments today that this is the first time he had been fit in 18 months then goes on to produce that goal so here hoping that is the case!

But moving to this "Bile" game it appears the powers at be have not yet named a referee for the game ( Madden said last night it was not him as he was away in overseas uefa license stuff!) Do you not think that is odd and only adding to the problem/tension

Or is it because that mob clearly cannot conduct themselves as evident only yesterday & are leaving it as late as possible?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - It's definitely odd that it's not been made public.}

17 Jan 2015 19:12:36
ED007 now that Lawwell has vetoed Madden, he is probably checking all the other refs background to find a Tim one lol

Agree0 Disagree8

{Ed007's Note - He'll be hard pushed to find one, they're as rare as hen's teeth!}

Lol you fancy a career in politics Ed? you managed to answer that 1 without even mentioning the bile lol or is it because they are just insignificant?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What was it Ian Archer said? 'A permanent embarrassment and an occasional disgrace.'}

Oh no Tim don't say that we will end up with the RE Teacher Collum

That Archer quote was to do with them rioting somewhere Birmingham me thinks but can you imagine a modern day quote like that Ed? with all the mod con posts etc / responses just look what happened to Jim Spence when he said this is not Rangers! How did they not attempt to sue Findlay when he said the exact same thing?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure there's decent folk amongst them, just I've never met any and that includes family.}

17 Jan 2015 17:01:57
Ed have any info on the Guidetti contract situation? The longer this drags on the less likely I think he is to stay permanently

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I was told yesterday that Marseilles' interest had cooled and they were focusing on another player to replace Gignac. CFC have offered Guidetti a contract, it's now up to the player and his agent.}

Today was a massive indication that we won't be signing him permanently. A game against a close rival in the league and he doesn't even get a run out.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know why we are hanging out for him, give him the decision let us know before the deadline ends, when he says no we buy cifti, proven goals in spl, great assits stats, a better younger, stonger, fitter, player, than all our strikers

Agree1 Disagree0

DRB

It appears we have pi$$ed Dundee United off sufficiently over GMS that they might just refuse to sell us Cifci or double the price like they did with Russell.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should pull out all the stops to get Guidetti. Offer him 35k a week if need be.

Ciftci is nowhere near celtic standard. If we signed him, 6 months down the line everyone on here will be moaning about how poor a player he is. He will be another Miku or Lassad basically.

If we are going to sign another player from United it should be Armstrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigbhoy, open your eyes and watch the boy he is a terrific team player, his spl stats . played . 63 . goals 26,, assists,, 21, are for a 22year old v good, he is second in the scoring charts this season ahead of guidetti who imo is pissing us about until he is a free and can pick his next stop imo he wants feynoord but they can't afford him, I also think he is a better all round srtiker/player than stokes, scepovic and griffiths

Agree0 Disagree0

"In the spl"

This is his level and Dundee United is where he should stay. He had a spell in Holland (a far better league than ours) with Breda where he played like 10 games and I don't think he even scored a goal.

Guidetti scored 20. This guy is a natural goal scorer and exactly what we need. Ciftci would just be another bottom of the barrel signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes that natural he's scored 3 less than cifti in the spl, scored 1 for burnley, 0 for stoke and in 6 year played once for his parent club, maybe the spl is his level and cifti has the edge for scoring here

Agree0 Disagree0

Bigbhoy - there is a great difference in quality between Feyenoord and Breda

You can't compare it like that!

Agree0 Disagree0

He played like 3 games for burnley and stoke and Man City haven't gave any youth players a chance so that's hardly a fair comparison.

Also Cifci's record in England was 1 goal in 20 games for PORTSMOUTH. If he can't cut it there how can he possibly make the step up to celtic?

Guidetti has already proven he has what it takes (in Holland and here) to make it at Celtic. By far the safer option.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was at Portsmouth between ages of 16 and 17.5, he has 26 goals in 62 with 21 assists in spl game as a loan striker with Dundee utd and starting to fulfil his potential, these are good stats, he has a great work ethic and plays for the team, if he came from a big epl team (where he had failed )would you want him, we play in the spl he is performing in the spl why not sign him? my biggest concern is I think guidetti doesn't want to be here ad is just killing time till he is a freebie

Just in from having a few beers in Glasgow and watching the Celtic game and noticed that the 2014-2015 champions elect are trailing the mighty Dundee at home? What on earth will the super scoreboard and Scottish mainstream media have to say about that? Ssb always state they think. when in fact they mean they hope. Aberdeen can maybe win the title? Not consistant enough sheep?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just equalised mate!

GJ old grumpy Keevins has been having orgasms thinking about Aberdeen winning the league, well we are only 2 points behind with 2 games in hand and chance to go top on wednesday. hail hail

Agree1 Disagree5

Dropp d points are dropped so nts ssb have been salivating at the prospect t of possible Celtic failure to win the league well I think this could be the weekend where celtic go on a run and the rest will show their true inconsistency we will eventually win the league by over 10 points. Wee jeevins on ssb harking on about the orcs protest last night as sullying the good name of their club. what good name they riot everywhere sing the party tunes at any given opportunity and break into their own flipping stadium?wtf?

Got to be happy with 3 points, a win, a clean sheet at a tricky venue and some great performances.
Henderson is showing great maturity and confidence and I honestly think Hamilton came back into the game when he had to go off - I hope it's just a deedy and he will be back soon?
Denayer and VVD were majestic and our two full backs are showing their best form once again, Johansen, Biton and Brown cover the whole park and Gordon was solid.
I hear Commons may be off very soon and it would have been great to see him score as he has been a very important player for us and I sincerely believe he loves the club and the support.
My big concern is with our striking options - or lack of them to be more precise. I think the current batch are not anywhere near the calibre required at Celtic.
I realise we have goals throughout the team - especially the way we play - but we really could do with the quintessential 25/30 goal man that has been synonymous with successful Celtic teams.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Your right about the striking options JJ. I not saying Scepovic is great but that's twice now he has been brought into the team and scored then gets dropped straight away.We will never know if he is the answer unless he gets a run in the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

3 1 dundee

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with what you say about Henderson. Good player and can see him developing into a key player for club.

Striking options, I thought Guidetti would of hit the 25/30 goals tally but he seems to have went off the boil

Agree0 Disagree0

Griffiths didn't really take his chance today but lots of games coming up so stirkers should get plenty of opportunity to stake a claim!

i think guidetti will come back into form again, has the most ability of the 4 for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully edinbhoy. In his defence could be contract talks that are effecting him

Wonder if that's the last we see of Kris in a Celtic shirt, just threw his boots into the Celtic fans . Maybe a farewell gesture?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Jan 2015 15:16:41
Yeh he's defo away I think mate! Great servant for celtic! Total bargain he's been! Wish him all the best in the future! Heard maloneys close to comin back,anybody hear that?

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope not, but it seems to be gathering momentum. Maloney obviously has ability but each of his previous terms at Celtic were plagued with sevaral injuries and although he still looks like a wee boy, he is at an age in his career that his injury problems take longer to heal - and we have more than our fair share of injury prone players at the club.

DEILA: KRIS IS STAYING

Celtic manager Ronny Deila is adamant the Kris Commons is staying at least until the end of the season.

It was reported that the 31-year-old would be playing his last game for the champions today in the win over Hamilton with Bolton strongly linked with a move for the player.

"He will not go, " said Deila. "I have said many times before, he will not go.

"We are going to keep all the players we have here for the rest of the season. He is going to stay. It is not easy to replace Kris Commons.
"It will not be taken out of my hands. It is not money in this, this is a decision we will take together.

"So he needs new boots. It is going to be expensive for him."

Cracking strike from Mathews 😁

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Contender for goal of the season and it came out of nothing as we have really huffed and puffed; but brilliant goal!
Griffiths is really struggling on his own and the slick passing is missing today, but we are still controlling the game - so far. Great block by Gordon to cover up for his flap and save a certain goal.

Hope for a higher tempo and maybe a Commons goal in the 2nd half?

Good old Adam Matthews! Really great to see him hit the target, especially after Emilio's performance last time.

Why are our strikers _always_ so anonymous? Its been like this since Hooper left. Is it the service? I tuned in rather late today due to connectivity issues and it took 10 minutes or so to figure out who was playing. Is it their positioning and timing? Seriousna.

Just seen the line up.really happy to see 5 Scots on the pitch! Take my hat off to RD for stickin with wee henderson! Thought he deserved it with his Kilmarnock performance! Heard that person Keevins on the radio there and they were sayin there's a chance commons mite have played his last game today! Anybody heard anythin! Won't be happy at all if this is true! 😡

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I also think its very important we have a good Scottish core/British and Irish. RD has also stressed he wants a core who know what playing for Celtic can mean. It was the first thing GS got going with his squad, and with the right balance of European/International pedigree it worked wonders.

As for Commons, if he's off so be it. We should get a few quid at least but the board need to go out and get a CAM who has a good scoring record.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

According to hafc website, no inspection, games on

Agree0 Disagree0

Gordon, Matthews, VVD, Denayer, Izzy, Bitton, Brown, Johansen, Henderson and Griffiths

Thought some questions were going to be asked there kev. It's ok commons is playing.
