Any idea when Compper is due back? Last time I heard was Dubai when he was doing some light training but expected back a lot sooner than the period that had been previously stated!? As far as I'm aware Paddy has been training since Dubai n'all and hoping to at least see him on the bench soon as well as big Marvin.

I think there will be a few changes tomorrow. IMO Lustig, Jozo and Forrest will be rested or on the bench. Hendry will come in to play in a back 3. Charley and Rogic to start:
So here goes:
De Vries

Hendry
Ajer
KT

Musonda
Nitcham
Kouassi
McGregor
Rogic

Edouard
Dembele

If I get this right I’ll hopefully have the Lottery numbers for Tuesday. 😀😀.

I'd like to see some involvement for Raleston and Hendry. Brown is suspended so I'd go with ntcham Kouassi and young charly in the middle.

We will need to rotate players, as much as I would prefer a consistent team selection we have just too many games. We will have to play Aberdeen after a tough away tie in Europe then if we qualify the next round will be the Thursday before the sevco match away, add to that mid week league and cup games, it could be 2 games a week for a while, so fresh legs will be needed.

Time to admit , I was wrong, my mistake for 2018. Under pressure not to make another and over 10 months left .
A magnificent performance by a Celtic team with all its injuries, I didn't think we could get it . All 13 players, all played their part which is very unusual . With a starting 11 it is often said a manager is lucky yo get 8 players at their best, Brendan had them all.

A big congratulations to Brendan on getting the right players playing in the right positions . The big centre midfield 3 took the pressure of our centre backs, we didn't have Zenit players running at them . Dembele led his Mc G and Forrest exceptionally well, as well as the attacking ability of the three they set the good example of harassing defenders on the ball and Zenit didn't get their game plan going .
Many Celtic supporters were less than supportive of our keeper, he made the one good safe he had to and cleared the ball capably and we held on to procession more than not .
What was most impressive for me was Celtic were playing their 45th game of season, after many had 3 weeks break in summer.
Zenit have been preparing from mid December for playing us, surely they should have had the altheticism and game plans finished to a tee. I thought with their mental rest, they would have out smarted us, but not at all Brendan and the bhoys produced a display that many of us hadn't seen since Barcelona and N L.
Mosounda will probably have a magnificent career ahead of him, one thing is certain he won't enjoy a assist as much as his first assist in a major European tie.

A few people have already mentioned about the end of season friendlies Scotland have in South America. I really hope Brendan tells the SFA none of our players will be going.

Celtic have played a total of 45 x Competitive games so far this season.

Aberdeen have played 34 x games

Sevco have played 33 x games

Just think about those numbers! The Body cannot keep taking a pounding. As we have already seen fatigue comes into play.

Our Scottish Internationals will need to rest and recuperate to be ready for the early European Qualification Campaign. Remember some of our Team will be playing at the World Cup. What rest will they get?
Celtic has been flying the flag for Scottish Football for a number of years and ALL the SPFL Clubs have benefited financially.
Our Club MUST come first and Scotland will just have to look at other Clubs to supply the Players.

Totally agree and to add to that, aberdeen and rangers don't have many scotland international's in their first team. Therefore they will benefit greatly if our players go on this tour.

Agree3 Disagree1

17 Feb 2018 12:32:17
They should use the tour to bring on young untried players, and try to unearth some that could walk into s competitive international match, they should omit any Celtic players from the tour, I hope McLeish doesn't go down the ridiculous route that Strachan did, by being loyal to players that he had used before, instead of giving inform players a game,

That's a good shout Swindon about using it as an opportunity to unearth some youngsters.

We have the qualifiers for the CL also therefore I would be amazed if any of our players go on that tour.

agree with most comments and don't want to go back to old managers, but there's a bigger picture here regarding income and revenue for clubs, do the clubs get paid ex amount for the players playing in internationals, the players get paid? i read somewhere that England offered 650k per man to win the competition, then the USA raised the bar to 1 million per man.

This new competition offers a way into through the back door, its all a con and and money spinner. reference players playing too many games, its incredible the teams don't have the capacity to deal with such matters, Joe Bloggs is doing a 60 hr shift with 28/ 30 days holidays a year on 8 quid an hour. lol Maybe there should be a rule that only 2/ 3 should be picked per club and not all 6 from one club, especially for this type ocf Mickey mouse competition. I hope Celtic inform the sfa that the CL takes priority. whinge over hail hail 5.0 tomorrow.

I've always been a supporter of Scotland no matter who played for them or who managed them because I'm Scottish!

This is no longer the case the appointment of Mcleish disgusts me.

Believable10 Unbelievable5

17 Feb 2018 09:33:45
Why? Aren't you Scottish any more? Who else would you suggest for manager?

Agree4 Disagree7

17 Feb 2018 09:52:57
@cease - perhaps the OP is disgusted that scotland have a manager who himself dodged tax. Not only that, resided over our rivals while they carried out the worst case of cheating in Scottish football history.

Surely McLeish should be punished not rewarded?

Agree6 Disagree4

17 Feb 2018 10:18:26
That may all be true but the OP said he'll support his country no matter who is in charge. What he should've said was as long as its not McLeish. I personally couldn't give a toss. Peter Grant is there in any case, he'll help him with his reading and stuff.

I agree raw, it’s an appalling appointment, SFA in desperation. Only in Scotland where corruption is a given for a certain cult.

Was never too bothered about Scotland games. I would watch them if they were relevant to tournaments but usually found them a pain in the erse as it meant Celtic weren't playing that week. This decision though has probably did it for me. I have now lost any faith in this farcical institution, the SFA. This is the wrong person for the Scotland managers job. A tax cheat, who walked out on his country before and an absolute slimebag of a man in charge of a national team but declaring that he doesn't want independence for the country he's managing! An absolute joke.
You were talking about his big forehead Ed, that's cause the guy's got more front than Brighton!

Agree3 Disagree4

17 Feb 2018 11:07:52
@cease

The ops opening paragraph said up until now he has always supported scotland. His second paragraph says that changed when scotland appointed McLeish. Which is what you said he should do.

The OP did not claim he will always support scotland regardless of what happens, so you are mistaken with your opening sentence.

If you have a different opinion from the OP then that is fine as it is a subjective topic. What is right for one may not be right for another.

Agree3 Disagree3

17 Feb 2018 11:14:52
Fair enough raw. I wouldn't watch Scotland if they were playing in my garden. The OP has a problem with McLeish, fair enough, but he supported them when Walter Smith was manager. All charges aimed at McLeish must surely apply to Smith? Although I'm not aware of his political leanings regarding independence.

Agree0 Disagree4

17 Feb 2018 11:34:44
I thought Roy Aitken was going to be second in command? Obviously not.

Agree0 Disagree3

17 Feb 2018 11:53:36
I agree that the same charges apply to smith as well. However, what we need to remember is that the EBTs hadn't made it to the public domain until after smith had left the roll of scotland manager.

I like you don't care about the scotland national team. However I do care that our governing body colluded with rangers to cheat everyone in Scottish football and the rules have not been applied. I personally won't be satisfied until the rules are applied properly and there is a clear out of the old guard at the sfa and we get transparency in the governing body so this never happens again.

Does no one ever question people like McLeish, and Mccoist and Ferguson about ebts, at press conferences, and if they were a loan, why don't they pay them back to BDO.

17 Feb 2018 12:52:20
If they do I've never heard them. Look forward to the day all recipients are hounded by hmrc.

aindoh if any one did question them about that there career would be over in this country the secret hand shakers would make sure of that.

Agree2 Disagree3

17 Feb 2018 17:39:32
Cease when Mcleish and smith where in charge before we didn't know about the cheating the extent we do now.

For the sfa to employ Mcleish again knowing about what went on shows they don't care how corrupt it all was therefore I have totally lost faith in the sfa.

This is my opinion and my view you and everyone else are entitled to theirs.
