Well let me ask u a question Gordon, if he still supported the tribute act would u be sayin that? I think we know the answer there mate! The guys a lowlife, and no amount of mon the hoops on social media will change that!

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed007's Note - I think Collymore is good at what he does like a shockjock to get listeners and social media success but I can't stand him as a person and even less as a man. You can't take the moral high ground with washout jakey bums like Gazza, Goram and Bomber and our own wee reformed ned LG while sticking up for the likes of Collymore. There's a lot of Tims I can't stand, I've never liked Rod Stewart and went off Billy Connoly years ago when he became a pretentious knob, Kevin Bridges is in danger of going the same way - Frankie Boyle's more irritating than diabetic thrush as well.
Wasn't there videos of Collymore singing The Sash or Billy Boys back in the day?}

18 Aug 2017 00:17:20
To me he's no better than the tossers on that so called radio station talk sport! Spouts any old Shoite that he thinks is controversial! Just can't go the guy and he'll always be a scumbag to me ED! He's admitted he was a big sevco fan in the past now all of a sudden it's mon the hoops and all the rest off it! Bugger off ya half wit, don't want clowns like that associated with our club! And I'll give u frankie Boyle, who I detest by the way! And maybe billy Connolly but I can't agree about rod Stewart mate, to many childhood memories of his songs to ever dislike him 😜😜.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - It's his music that put me off him when I was a pup, I think you needed to be out partying in the 70's to appreciate the music - bit before my time ;) And any time my dislike of him wavers I just look at the pictures of him in Rangers top! Who's that other walloper Sean Connery supporting these days? Was Sheena Easton not a Tim as well? Give me big Viv Lumsden any day! Giggity....

ha ha ha my cousin from Boston is threatening to STAY in Scotland and not go back home on Tuesday, he was blown away by the atmosphere at Celtic Park last night, as he put it to me, it brought back to him memories of European nights in the old Jungle over 30-35 tears ago, he was very nostalgic. He LOVED the Green Brigade's songs, again it took him back to the "Jungle Bhoys Choir" all those years ago.
We arrived early to avoid rushing and to let him soak up the special European night atmosphere under the floodlights and after the game I could not move him from the Celtic Way all lit up with green and white lights, he just took pictures all night long to take back to Boston.
He told me he has a Celtic TV subscription back in Boston and also watches some games in his local Irish pub, but he said nothing compared to actually being at the stadium and soaking up the very special Celtic Park atmosphere.
It has been 25 years since he last visited Scotland, but he is already talking of coming back NEXT YEAR hail hail.

Glad he enjoyed it Tim it was a special nite once again. And once again I kicked the arse out it, never got in till 2 this morning absolutely knackered the now. Still it was well worth it, so many positives and we weren't even on top form. Glad sinky got a couple of goals under his belt, he works his socks off even if he doesn't score. Griffiths was class again, can't see him giving up his place easily. Ntcham is going to be something else, him and broony dictated that game from the middle, forrest was great, what a finish. Bitton strolled it wae jozo. Green brigade were superb as we're the rest of the support, still buzzin. What a time to be alive, our kids are going to be spoilt watching this team, thing is a don't think they'll appreciate it the way I do, growing up watching celtic in the 90's wasn't exactly how it should've been in we were on a level playing field but it sure makes this all the more enjoyable. I couldn't be happier today, after half an hour last night I would have been happy with any sort of a win, but to almost certainly put the tie beyond doubt was just brilliant.
I see that there are some people in the press coming out with the tired old line that it isn't good for Scottish football that we are so strong, how Celtic being weaker is supposed to help things is beyond me.
What Celtic have done is what every other club in the league could do, they live within their means, they have hungry players who want to improve, and they have a manager who is able to actually make these players better.
I don't want to start the old "was he a good Celtic manager or not" debate, but you can see with Neil Lennon at Hibs what can happen when you have a manager who is not content to just bump along the bottom, he hasn't spent vast amounts there.
Instead of trying to belittle our success, the rest of Scottish football should be trying to copy us, they may find it enables them to have more than one club in European competition after June.

The Scottish Media is as old an institution as the lodge and their knuckledragging followers who dress up in silly costumes and white gloves. They are inexplicably linked. Don't expect any huge praise for how we destroyed a team the same media thought we would struggle against. That didn't go too well for the sports 'journalists' who had probably already written there damning report on how we struggled to beat an Kazakhstani side.
The BBC English news covered our win better than the Scottish Biased Broadcasting Company!
Our print media and BBC Scotland are an absolute joke!

17 Aug 2017 18:53:48
The only people in Scotland who grudge our success or see it as a blight on the game are still in mourning for the club that died in 2012 and feel only regret, envy and anger.
There was a time in the 80's when Dundee Utd and Aberdeen were the best in Scotland and formidable in Europe and when I started watching football in the early 60's there were Dunfermline, Kilmarnock and Hibs putting up strong domestic challenges and European football.
None of these clubs had pots of cash or sponsorship, but hard working, skilful coaches and players doing their best.
Nowadays far too many players have poor attitudes and large wallets and should be using Celtic as inspiration.
Recently Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Inverness and a few others have faltered too soon in qualifiers against poor sides, but mysteriously raise their game a handful of times a season when it suits?

was mentioned in commentary that the FA in Kazi postponed the game Astana have this weekend so they can have the ideal prep for the games.

meanwhile in Scotland we have EIGHT games in August. I know its early and we should be fit - but MD and LG were both injured and apparently we can't have 3 top class strikers here.

Wonder if we will get free weekends when the Champions League fixtures are announced, you know to give us a chance to fly the flag, and put more money into Scottish clubs.

We got ragers 270k and they still haven't paid for the lavvies.

Its all wrong - another example of how good we have to be PLUS 10% on top.

I didn't see last nights result coming. I thought we would win but 5-0. This despite us being at our best. I thought we were well organised and solid. Every member of the team done their job but not spectacularly. I believe the mindset was not to concede an away goal which meant everyone stuck to their task. Well done Brendan on these instructions. However, their goalkeeper was a joke, maybe should've saved 1-2 of the goals but whose complaining. Another surprise is possible Armstrong re-signing - Brendan can do no wrong in my eyes at present. long may it continue Hail Hail.

Great news that SA is signing a new contract but it gives the Boss one hell of a delema in midfield. Brown and Ntcham have to be certain starters for me so that leaves the rest fighting for the No:10 spot. It will be great though as if and when the injuries or suspensions kick in we won't be any weaker.

accounting for injuries, suspensions etc we have 5 CM in bitton, armstrong, brown and ntcham, also henderson, think mcgregor and rogic for the 10 slot imo, also christie to come back, the competition for places is great atm, if we can get a CB and a winger we will have a very strong squad.

Bitton has already shown he has a talent for playing in defence so Brendan could impove his game in that position. Get that right and it saves a few quid on a new signing!

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 20:47:12
Bitton getting brendaned and it actually works, would be as good as signing a new defender.

Still think a striker of some description, someone to develop as a third option because the two main ones are a bit injury prone. Roberts obviously a desirable one too but could this be the year of consistency for forrest?

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2017 11:48:40
Afternoon Ed,

Firstly Biton last night got to say was one that thought he would be our weak link lad never put a foot wrong

Ncham well someone said that they reminded him of Wanyama and having him back if Wanyama had had a first touch like that we would have got 18 million instead of 12!

Fair play to Ed he had them the opposition pegged to a tea no more threat than an SPL team 1 shot from out the box, 1 catch for CG and 1 gilt edged miss he was bristling with confidence last night either that or he over did the Fanta and it was the caffeine lol 😁 (Y)

What a night! Awesome performance. It's very pleasing seeingt all the orcs going about with their faces tripping them. I read some of the media comments and while it's great for celtic it's terrible for scottish football!7 scottish player's where taking part which will be good for the national team. Pud i read the same artical. We have a 59000 stadium we fill every week. We are building a hotel. We develope young players and sell them on. Because of on field success we have excellent commercial revenues. The club is therefore well run. Now a journalist wants to write about how unfair that is to the rest of scottish football. So would scottish football be better for Celtic being barred from european competition? The answer is no. This journalist offers no potential solution. He just bemoans the financial success of celtic and says its wrong. Total bulls**t. Go away mr journalist and offer a solution if you have one instead of justifying your wages on a pointless artical that seeks only to dampen the success of a club the likes of Scotland has ever seen. There is a team accross the river with a similsr size stadium and fan base. Why not ask why that team are being humped by european minnows, have little on field success, have gone bust, when if they had anything about them could work the same model as Celtic but have failed to acomplish anything. that's the problem. If journalists started to talk about how Celtic have got to where they are and acknowledging it then we can start to talk up scottish football and maybe bring in more sponsorship instead of writing about how rubbish the game is because of celtic. He should be working for the SFA. Its like reading a report from Doncaster and co who have done hee haw to effectively promote the game in this country. A disgrace of an artical and a waste of paper and ink. Celtic savious of the Scottish game. Hail hail.

Never a mention in the media or from other clubs in the SPFL, thanking the hoops, for their share of the Β£2m they get every time we qualify for the group stages.

A lot of money to clubs like Sevco, help paying with this months wages.

And still they show no respect to the invincible`s. Sad!

{Ed007's Note - The money other club's get from our CL participation MUST be spent on youth development.}

17 Aug 2017 14:20:24
Anyone of a certain age and above will remember the bad days of the 90s.
It took a long time by the club was slowly transformed.
However the complete arrogance of the rangers fans during this time will stick with me forever. Their belief that they were superior and represented a higher class of supporter is unequalled. They thought they would never be beaten and that they were a true Scottish success story - too good for the rest of us. The contenmpt shown for us - 'the poor team' was typical of them, did anyone care? Did they f@ck. That's why it is so hard for them too accept what they have become. The years of overspending, bigotry, self indulgence has led their toxic club to bankruptcy and destruction.
Yes the new club that play out of given are our biggest and newest rivals, but they will never move forward while continuing to live in the past. We should be applauded for what we have achieved, a club like no other. We don't cheat and like the bunnet said: 'we paid all the bills' and look at us now.

How anyone can greet about our success amazes me.

17 Aug 2017 14:36:20
He is no Journalist. merely an extremely dim and bitter but nonetheless paid crazy money to spout this drivel.
It's ironic that at a time when Celtic as a well run family and Community club are ensuring success and highlighting Scottish football; that the press in this country are seeing their sales of newspapers falling through the floor. They should realise that the more they pimp their instutional club, the more we reject them.
I am proud to be part of this Celtic Family and all its stands for. The football on show right now is a joy to watch.

I think he's supposed to be a Golf reporter πŸ˜‚. Karma is a wonderful thing. I can remember in the 90's my highlight of the game would be singing "Always look on the brightside of life"That mob where boasting about having a team for the League and another for Europe. Floating pitch, super casino, hotel, restraunts, shops etc. When you pass by the Hovel and surrounding areas it's bogging and an eyesore! Mabe our modern beautiful celtic way was down to Glasgow city council and our state-aid, massive co-op loans πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚As the bunnet said "Every Celtic fan anywhere in the world should be proud of what they have achieved of their own merit without joining any secret organisation to get there:. He left a Legacy and now under Brendan he is building his own with developing players to a level you wouldn't think would have been possible after the past few years!2 centre backs and dembele to return and hopefully the Board back Brendan to bring in another 2 or 3 quality additions. It's going to be a cracker of a season for celtic whilst the hate and anger consumes that mob and there fanbase. They will be a wrecking ball rampaging everytime they lose &play away will ramp up the vile songbook.

What's the befit of pot 3? Does that mean we can be in a group without all the big gun's?

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 13:02:10
Pot 3 allows us to potentially have a better draw, pot 1 and 2 are your CL regulars pot 3 is still full of good teams like Liverpool and pot 4 is the supposedly weaker teams from smaller countries so pot 3 gives us a shout at an easier group. I don't mind either way I think I e could surprise a lot of teams this year, I just hope For a different mix from Man Utd and Barca!

Agree1 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 13:54:48
Pot 3 gives us a greater chance of missing an EPL team an am fed up with that "Battle o Britain build up keek"

Can follow both trains of thought take the glamour and someone different

Take the easiest group and try and make what is a think our ceiling last 16 in CL (Y)

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 13:58:58
Pot 3 gives us 2 games againdt the supposidly weaker pot 4 opposition. Should make it easier to get 6 points off them. Then you are in the mix for last 16 or at worse by finishing 3rd drop into the Europa after christmas.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Would you fancy us taking 6 points off RB Leipzig who are already in Pot 4 and could be joined by Feyenoord, would we be able to win away to either of those teams?}

17 Aug 2017 14:40:33
Ed. yes. Why wouldn't we win, when we are playing a good attacking style of football. We must respect all the Teams in the Group stages. but not be overawed with past histories of these Clubs.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - RB Leipzig were only founded in 2009 and came 2nd in the Bundesliga last season in their debut season. If we get into Pot 3 drawing them from Pot 4 would be a nightmare for us. Honestly, go by their squad they should be in Pot 1 or 2 but their coefficient is awful because this is their European debut.}

17 Aug 2017 14:53:58
I can see us doing well this year in the CL when we sort out the RW, LB and a centre forward to complete the squad. You can't take it that we are going to take 6pts of any opposition but I can see us beating teams away this year of good opposition. I think the tide is turning and old stats don't count for the current regime!

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - There's no shame in taking a trouncing off Barca but 7-0 was a bit much. The draw away to City was a great result and so was the Monchengladbach draw in Germany but we let ourselves down at home against them, over the two legs they looked pretty average.}

17 Aug 2017 15:57:42
I'm expecting us to learn from last year and show the progression in Europe, we took 2 Pts of city which was progress, really feel we are close to going on a CL push the next few years we are a real team and that can over come a lot, rather than throwing money at it!

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2017 11:49:12
What an incredible result that will now allow us to go get 2 or 3 top targets in, I don't think anyone will fancy coming to Paradise the crowd was electric and what a difference having the GB back and a classic Conor McGregor tweet this morning. The team were patient and kept to the game plan and I thought Ntcham Bitton and Griffiths were stand outs the team were magnificent all over the park. Credit to the ground staff who have this new surface looking like a bowling green it's having a huge impact on how we pass the ball. The feel good factor will continue with the news SA has extended his contract and we can all now look forward to him seeing him get back to his best. BR made some big decisions due to injuries and suspensions and his faith in his players paid off. Well done to all another terrific Euro night.

Morning Lads, quick question for you all. if dembele goes this season do we bring in another striker to replace him? ( starter) , or do we buy someone to back up griff and give him the starting slot? . i think griff was outstanding last night and think he could do a job in the group stages, over to you bhoys.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

17 Aug 2017 12:05:38
I think Griff is a great player but he needs competition to keep him at his best IMO so I would go for someone to replace Dembele IF he goes we are not that good to start thinking of back ups. Players we bring in have to be as good or better than the players we have just now.

17 Aug 2017 12:45:16
Dembele has a huge transfer tag. How much do you reckon Griffiths is worth?

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 12:51:58
Still think we need to have 3 top strikers as we'll be competing on 4 fronts.

Not sure on what the seedings will be but I wouldn't mind

Monaco,
Dortmund
Liverpool/ Tottenham
CELTIC

Good teams but would be more than capable of qualifying if we could get a couple of wins.

Could be a very close group.

Sorry lads but give me the easiest group possible. We have had enough of the big teams and glamour ties. I want us to qualify for the last 16 and drawing the big sides will definitely reduce thathe chance. Have to say Irishkiwi l would not fancy that group.

Without wanting to count chickens before they hatch, I'm pretty confident we've done enough to start looking to the draw next thursday, For me best draws are as follows.

Glamour
Real Madrid
Paris St Germain
Liverpool
Celtic (assuming pot 4)

Qualifyable
Spartak Moscow
Spurs
Celtic (assuming pot 3)
Qarabag
(this almost looks like a europa league group! )

Bring it on!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

17 Aug 2017 11:35:13
I would take the glamour all day.

Agree1 Disagree2

17 Aug 2017 11:50:12
Gordo, the glamour just to get pumped? Take the other group all day long so we can compete and enjoy it rather than finishing bottom and embarrassed. Hate all this nonsense about wanting the best teams here just to say we were involved and have big name players say about the atmosphere. I want celtic to win and compete, not just to make up the numbers.

Agree6 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 12:33:21
I'd like two glamour teams (Real, Dortmund) and a team we can beat . Probably finish third but who wouldn't want to see Real at Parkhead or the amazing atmosphere of Dortmund. Then we just go and have a serious shot at winning the Europa league.

Agree0 Disagree1

17 Aug 2017 13:01:37
Why get pumped?, this team is on the up, they can be carried along on a wave of growing confidence and team spirit, I would go for group full off the three other most 'glamorous 'teams, these teams are full of overpaid, overhyped, prima Donnas, they will expect to "pump", Celtic, I say bring them on.

18 Aug 2017 09:48:02
All this bravado is amusing. I think we need to recognise we are probably two transfer windows away from realistically taking in all the big teams in one group.

I would prefer a group this squad has a chance of progressing from. Building confidence and pocketing an additional Β£6m.

I fear Madrid, I think they could inflict a heavy defeat and why want that?

The main thing though for me always is to just fecking qualify. Anything else is a bonus.

My Hun mates are in a state of animated grief. I am doing all I can to help them at this difficult time. I told my pal that I think Brendan will allow young Henderson back to Hibs on loan pushing them into fourth place.

His face was a picture. I wish I had taken a photo. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 11:11:18
Have to say l agree with both gerrybhoy17 and aindoh here. Do you not want us to qualify for the last 16. Getting the big team like Madrid is the last thing l want. We got glamour group last year and look what happened. Thumped 7 -0 in barca. The bhoys don't need something like that again or a group as tough. The minute it was drawn we were playing for third place. Give me a group like Leicester got last year and then we can welcome a glamour tie to parkhead.

17 Aug 2017 11:06:01
We have all complimented the playing squad for the result last night, and rightly so. What I would like to say is that in Brendan Rodgers we have the best manager I remember the Club having since I attended my first game in the early 80s. The guy oozes confidence and belief in his own ability and philosophy. No matter how big the obstacles have been he has found an answer time and again. I don't think many of us expected that scoreline. A massive well done to BR and his backroom team.

Not since big Jocks days have I felt so confident that the team/ club was in the best hands possible.
Players who were there before have learned and improved and add to that the new arrivals and you can see BR has taken us to a new level - and is still demands improvement.
His interviews and analysis are concise and informative and the man just oozes class and confidence which clearly rubs off on the staff, players and fans.
It really is quite a time to be a Celtic supporter.

Superb performance last night. Add a fit Dembele, Boyata and (hopefully) Paddy Roberts into that team, I'm confident we can get some good results in the group stages regardless of who we play!

If only we can find a way to get Griff and Moussa playing together.

he's not as bad as people make out and imo the scapegoat for every bad performance by the team no matter how he or others have performed . under br he has improved and hopefully matured enough to now know what he has to do to keep his place . inconsitancy (and injury ) have somewhat stalled his career / development and he never seemed to be able to address his faults / flaws . but I think the new coaching regime has seen him get better and imo his start to this season has been good . he's still young enough to get better but old enough to finally realise what he has to do to setup up? (hopefully)

We been discussing this on live chat our corner kick taker is our striker and that is not right not going to give one ounce of criticism today but for fun who can actually cross a ball at Celtic? I say Liam Henderson LG not counting can you imagine we get someone in who could deliver a high diagonal ball / corner? (Y)

The support just get frustrated because we know (and he knows) what he is capable of but he has been inconsistent.
There is no doubt he could be a great player if he believed it more and he has already put a marker down that he is better than Hayes and now he needs to keep producing.

if he comes back in some capacity ill be over the moon, if we get him even a loan for 12 mnths with a buy out it would be fantastic bit of buisness, even just a loan for a yr i look at it as a player who played for the club for nearly 3 seasons and left on a bosman, hoping for a buy out clause tho.
