How many times have Celtic won the Scottish Cup?

We'll be doing the draw live during half-time of tomorrow's Derby.}

The Champions League format will change in 2024 and I had a look at how the changes could impact Celtic because we're a previous winner of the Big Cup.
There will be 4 extra clubs who will go straight into the group stages.
One place will go to the Association sitting in 5th place of the Co-efficient and currently that place would go to the team sitting 3rd in France.
Two places will go to the clubs with the highest Co-efficient points who haven't automatically qualified for the CL group stages.
One of those places, will go to a previous winner of the big cup, with the highest Co-efficient points who haven't automatically qualified for the group stages.
If the changes were happening next season, I think Celtic would've narrowly have missed out on an Automatic place, through the previous winners place.
I will base my findings on current league places across Europe.
Only several of previous winners are not currently getting an Automatic place.
Benfica, Porto and Liverpool are the only clubs with more Co-efficient points than Celtic out of the previous winners, who aren't currently in an Automatic position in their domestic leagues.
Liverpool would currently get an Automatic place through one of the two highest place Co-efficient clubs.
Both Benfica or Porto would get the Automatic place through being previous winners because both clubs have more Co-efficient points than Celtic.
I make it Celtic would be the next club in line ( due to Benfica and Porto from same country ) to have missed out if the changes were being made next season.
Being previous winners could one day give Celtic an Automatic place.

previous winners and probably league champions yet tin pot clubs like spurs sitting 3rd in there league will go straight into it.

That’s true United Ireland
It was only a few years ago when Spurs and Liverpool made the final and yet they hadn’t won a league title between them for over 70 years.
Uefa have ruined the competition.

its all about what clubs pull in the most views and making money football is ruined. look at half the stadiums that's being built now there like shopping malls with a football pitch in the middle. true football is long gone.

WE are all partly responsible for this, even if inadvertently financing it buying promotional products. When we are not in it, I won’t even buy a can of coke with the logo on. This entire competition is ran for a few countries with the rest hoping to catch a few crumbs. Only way to change this is for all fans from so called smaller countries to concertedly financially choke them into making it more competitive for all. Whole system runs on advertising revenue, Need to starve them of that in a serious way, then watch their attitude change.

Thank god you have no official role at Celtic 😂😂.

In all seriousness though it’s too hard to judge what’s going to happen. It will heavily depend on the money offered for the players that want out.

Then the first signing made will indicate what level of investment is getting made. I can only imagine the new CEO, DoF and manager will want that to be a statement of intent.

I'd take Clarke-Harris from Peterborough the guy is on fire this season and a good box finisher and be a good replacement for Griffiths/ Klimala.

Jim Spence knows the score.
“I’m debating whether to liquidise my soup.
If I do and I don’t like it,
I can always unliquidise it”.

My thoughts are that Celtic will announce the new manager on Monday. It’s a win win for the hierarchy really. Lose the derby cup game and it’s a soother for the fans. Win and it’s icing on a piece of cake. Hopefully we enjoy a good performance from the Bhoys and get some good news to boot on Monday.

Think he's found his level. Portuguese 2nd division to the demands of playing for Celtic is to big. 4 million euro release clause.

Its a no for me too. Bang average player whos having a decent season at a poor level. Would be disappointed if this our level of targets.

He's doing rather well in the Portuguese top tier! Definitely worth considering. I'm sure he's had a few assists and goals against the bigger clubs and braga are looking at him too. On the contrary he was not standout when on loan at hibs.

I'm with you DRB, I like Gauld a lot but there's a few of our own boys who I think could hit a very good level if they're just given the opportunity. I think Connell in particular has something about him.

I'd rather we signed Lewis Ferguson and either Josh Doig or Aaron Hickey, I read yesterday someone suggesting we could maybe get Tom Heaton from Villa on a free as out of contract in June. I think that would be a decent shout too.

I do think that towards the end of next week there will be a few announcements.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Apr 2021 15:36:01
Neither Doig Lewis Ferguson or Hickey. Should be anywhere near us None are good enough. Ryan Gauld. ? Is this where we are? I’m looking for finished article in every position Not more projects We need think much bigger than these I get we need take punt on couple younger players but we need 15/ 20 pros who been there done it at decent level. Then as DRB says it should be connel Henderson Robertson Given chance before buying more unproven young players Think we win 3 1 morra Cmon.

P73 while I agree we could do with signing some 1st team ready players, I also think we should be looking to the future. I think we have to have a nucleus in the squad of Scottish players.

He was hopeless on loan at Hibs a coupla seasons back so not sure about him at Celtic .

I'd have him over Rogic maybe see if we can swap them.

The one thing bothering me about tomorrow is our lack of height apart from ajer we are quite a small team.

Celtic should at least have a player on the back post at corners.
It’s preventable when we lose a goal with no one on the posts at corners.

Basic.
Unfortunately, we have failed in basics all this season.
Cant play out from goalie.
Cant tackle.
Cant trap a ball.
Second to all loose balls.
Cant find own players when passing.
Cant defend
Slow to attack
AL things were we doing last season.
