Sorry for being ignorant, , but if the poppy is a symbol for all those who have given their lives in war, regardless of what side they were on, does that include the republicans in the war in ireland, or is it just certain wars, you, with all your superior knowledge, should be able to clear this up for us uneducated ones.

while you are calling us celtic fans stupid, red poppy`s don`t cover irish civilians that lost their life to british soldiers or the black and tan at the time, they are hated by us, even britain was appalled at the time by what they had done in ireland. now if us celtic fans want to wear a white poppy which covers the two world wars and not a red one this why. its not our fault you are to thick to take this in.

Re: Thank you CLOWN for proving my point. . red poppies are a sign of remembering everyone who has lost their life since world war 1. The red poppy was first tied to this wen a CANADIAN landed in europe and seen the blood torn lands with the poppies standing prominent upon a bloodshed battlefield. He wrote a poem about it about the lives lost on both sides. This was the starting point for the red poppy being tied to those who died. This was then taken up by a french woman who then tied this symbol with an appeal all over france as a chartiy for the lives lost. . It was then also adopted by Canada, America and GB. Your problem is that you cannot differentiate the difference between the poppy symbol and the poppy appeal they are slightly different . . the poppy symbol is a sign of all those who have given their lives in war regardless what side they fought for. . the poppy appeal (in the UK) represents a charity for the families of the dead and the injured. If you are against the appeal and don't want to give then your entitled to feel this way (i think your wrong but we all differ). But to be against the poppy symbol being on your top is ignorant and usually (in celtic fans case) due them being uneducated and jumping on the bandwagon started by the morons.

Hope this clears things up and helps opens a few of the "morons" on here eyes.

Re gerry bhoy

The guy that posted "whinging ones" well that's the truth, because that's what Celtic fc have become in the eyes of the world, fhs you lot even whinge when you win, and you, you went awol from here after Rangers beat your mob at Parkhead, just like most of the jakey tims on here, the decent Celtic fans on here I appreciate their banter, football wise, but you, bhyrdo bhoy and Green brigade, have to bring in the Irish republican carp at any given chance, do us all a favour talk about football related issues or shut to feck up.

first off, i booked a weeks holiday off work for the rangers game, didn't go awol, the only time im on this page is when im at work!
where you getting this carp bout bringing up irish republicanism up at any chance?? if you read my post about the poppies youl find i was responding to one of your fellow rangers fans rant about illegal wars and the IRA!

And im glad you can speak for the rest of the world as to how celtic football club is viewed!

so why don't you do us a favour and feck off back to Govan
