Sorry ed, with a few selfish previous posts, considering how bad this virus is taking hold on people especially the elderly and anyone in other vulnerable categories.

I love my football and get hacked off when I can't see/ watch a game.

However, let's get thing's in prespective and I'll contradict Mr Shankly football is not more inportant than life.

Everyone and family on here stay safe.

Nothing about Celtic, but football in the Lower Leagues. The Government has banned crowds of more than 500 gathering in one place because of the Coronavirus. Quite a few of the lower league teams average less than 500 fans a match. Why not allow these matches to be played, with the fans spread about as much as possible.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but does anything else think the SPFL will just follow whatever fifa/ uefa do regarding the rest of Europe? Whether that be stop the leagues now as is, or declare null and void (unlikely I know) ?
Ed what's your take on all this? I value your opinion. Sometimes.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - I agree that we need to wait on UEFA's decisions and until then anything else is just speculation and people arguing over their personal opinions.
It's worth noting though that it is stated on Page. 22 of the SPFL rules (HERE) that the SPFL Board can decide when the season ends:

Season means the 'period of the year commencing on the date of the first League
Match in a Season and ending on the date of the last League Match in the same
Season or otherwise as determined by the Board and which excludes the Close Season.'

And note that Rule.38 states:

"The Club occupying position one in the League at the end of a Season shall be
declared the Champion Club of the League and shall hold the "The Scottish
Professional Football League Championship Trophy" until the next Season's League
Competition is concluded."

So going by the governing body's own rules the SPFL Board can decide to officially end the season and we would be crowned champions. Personally I'd rather the games be played because any other outcome is going to be controversial but let's see what UEFA decide.}

16 Mar 2020 20:57:49
Let's start next season with us on zero and everyone else minus the points they are behind us and we'll play for both league titles at once 9 & 10 all in one season ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Cracking work Ed, Oh well if it's in the rules then fair enough. No one can deny us the League title๐Ÿ‘.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully things will become clearer tomorrow after the planned UEFA conference. Some people are looking to England as the benchmark and as as things stand the Pub League are hopeful of completing the league but their date of games recommencing on the 4th (??) of April is wishful thinking and won't happen plus there would also need to be a rewriting of some rules/regulations including players being giving the option of extending contracts on a month to month basis until the season is completed, it could eventually come down to a black-ball vote of member clubs to decide whether Liverpool are crowned champions.}

So in reply to the loser's loser Alex Rae's tweet, he should get his friend to check the rules of horse racing๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

Further to my previous post, if the current league title was made "null and void' as suggested by some idiot"s. Obviously not on here if so this season doesn't exist therefore we will be going for 10 one year later than expected.

No cash to be released for a non existent season and can you imagine how many clubs would be suing.

In addition, you can be certain sevco want the cash with the size of there squad and salary's to pay and nothing coming although they probably will receive another pile of soft loans from those generous directors.

Sorry for the rant.

They want this season null and void so they can kid on it never happened just like they kid on 2012 never happened. I did laugh earlier when I read they wanted the season null and void but prize money should be given as is. That just shows they are cash strapped, good hopefully they go to the wall๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

They live in an alternate reality where their only celebrations are any negatives we have. As they can't out muscle us financially anymore or compete with us in the league. It will be more of the same when this all starts back up, 10iar on its way.

I don't think they will declare the season over until it cannot be completed playing two games a week, i. e. weekend and mid week.

It has been suggested that game's could be played through the summer in order to complete the season taking into account that the virus issue has been dealt with. However, I am not sure how viable this is.

I believe no team wants a "null and void decision" other than sevco although they do want the money for second place which is a complete contradiction.

Just like they want to keep the old club's titles but not the debt, read the Sevco statement saying the "title can't be awarded unless the 38 games have been completed". The funniest thing about it is they are trying to make out the have a chance of the title despite the utter garbage team they have!
The propaganda that comes from that laughing stock of a club you would think Kim Jong UN was running the fun hoose๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.

The result stands as it is in other sports if they are not played to a finish. The Grand Prix might take laps off if it becomes dangerous and in golf if they canโ€™t complete all 4 rounds due to bad weather the player at the top of the leader board will be declared the winner or joint winner if itโ€™s more than one player.
I had to laugh at a Sevco fan on SSB who suggested it wouldnโ€™t happen in other sports like golf.

quick question folks, what happens now with season ticket renewals for next season with everything up in the air just now? do you think the club will put off renewals as what were being told is lots off people could be struggling financially with restrictions put on there jobs due to this horrible virus ?

I just had a thought. While the Rangers fans are clinging to the notion that the the league can't be decided now as it is mathematically possible for them to catch us. its also mathematically possible for Aberdeen and Motherwell to catch them and for them to finish out of the European places if they lose their remaining 9 games. Maybe they should be happy to accept 2nd given how they have been playing! ๐Ÿ˜‚.

With their run of results after the break and the inevitable exit at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen from the EL; it is highly likely their season would have completely imploded - with Slippy constantly hanging his players out to dry and threatening walking away - so. yes they should be delighted with the award of second place.
